We stayed two nights and were very well looked after. The staff were absolutely amazing. We stayed in house no. 20. The houses / rooms are well equipped with everything you might need. The first night it was a bit cold so the second night we asked for a fire. It did good, but it became a bit too hot (27. Dec). The bed was comfortable, just as you would expect in a hotel in this price range. The food was very good and there was a lot of choice between in the menu. The wait staff are so friendly and helpful. All our expectations were met.

Lovely stay at Neptune. The grounds and cottages are stunning. The views even more so. Food delicious. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would advise it as an excellent pit stop next to Ngorongoro.

Stayed in room 17 on the third leg of my safari. Despite the place considering themselves to have 5 stars and according to the sign in their hotel room telling me that they were “Concerned About Details”; this place was severely lacking. To start with the positives, the grounds and room was beautiful and the sights from the balcony were spectacular. This was all quickly overshadowed by the negatives. To start with, the room’s patio light and bathroom light had burnt out and there were no slippers despite the fact that it was very cold at night and there were tile floors. Speaking of cold, the bedroom/living room both had a fireplace and a hot water bottle were added to the bed which were fantastic as long as they were on and warm, but as soon as the night passed and they both got cold or died out, the room was FREEZING and there was no way to warm it up. On top of this, the shower had no enclosure, no curtain, no door, nothing so you are freezing while you shower except for the body parts that are directly under the water. Sure they provide a bathroom heater but it wasn’t strong enough to heat the room and only really worked if you stood right next to it. We even left it on high all night with the door closed hoping at least the bathroom would be warm in the morning but no luck. I did ask Mary at the front desk to arrange to have someone come in early in the morning and start the fire so we wouldn’t be freezing when we woke up but nothing was arranged and again we were freezing. Once I brought the room lights to their attention, they were quickly fixed but I should have to do this at a 5 star hotel. To test this theory, there was a light out on the walk way right next to the main passageway which I noticed the first night. All night long for the entire night I watched as the staffed walked right passed this light but until we checked out, it was still not fixed. Now we had all our meals at this hotel (either on site or packed) and they were all severely lacking. The food on site was bland and made me sad and while the drink service was attentive, the drinks were so weak that I (130 lbs) didn’t feel anything after 4 drinks. The packed lunches were the worst. When we arrived, we were asked to order our meal from a menu. I ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce and a chicken sandwich with mayo and cheese. My husband also ordered the spaghetti and a cheeseburger. What we got was cold fettuccini with alfredo sauce, a cold chicken breast between two slices of bread and nothing else and a cold burger. They also provided way too many starches as sides (rice, bread and more pasta) with no vegetables – all cold. The meal was disgusting. The kitchen either needs to figure out how to keep the food warm in some sort of thermal container or only offer foods that are meant to be eaten cold because no one likes cold fettuccini alfredo or burgers.

Nice place, a bit chilly though. The pool is useless in this time of the year. Excellent staff, very helpful. Food was average, they tried to be "stylish" with big plates and minuscules dishes. A big plus was the champagne (probably due to New Y's Eve). I complained about the food and the manager was extremely interested to find out what I didn't like and to try to improve. Extremely professional. Overall, I find it overrated.

First of all the staff is very attentive and they all seem genuinely friendly. They location is perfectly situation right next to the gate into the conservation park. The main building is very spacious and clean, and the paths toward the individual cabin are as well (both day and night). The individual cottage we booked was spacious and nearly decorated. We also got a stunning view of the first from our balcony. The floor was a bit dirty especially in the bathroom so it's best to use the slippers provided. Wifi here is working fine in there main building but it comes and goes in our cottage. I assume it's just the way it is in a remote area. We had the all inclusive package so alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks were included (even cocktails and long). However you can only order at the bar or restaurant which closes at 11pm. I'm not sure if you can pre order some to keep in your room, where they only have tea and coffee (instant), soft drinks and bottled water. The food was hit and miss. The local pork dish was amazing. Very strong meat taste and the flavor wasn't overpowering. The first filet was also delicious. I don't know about the steak though... The Shepard pure didn't have a poor base... Also the crème brûlée didn't actually have much caramelization and the body tasted like they cooked the egg yolk too hot so the texture was curdled.
