Reviews for Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge
Your mouth will drop open as you arrive at this absolutely gorgeous property, where you will find beautifully landscaped grounds with green grass and innumerable types of flowers and blooming shrubs. We were welcomed with cool cloths and hibiscus tea by the manager and several of his staff. This was a luxury resort compared to the two luxury camps at which we stayed at during our trip. The main area offers a dining room and lounge, a bar, and tanzanite jewelry shop. A small gift shop is outside. The large outer deck overlooks a large pool and lounge area, which overlooks lush vegetation/forest as the land slopes dramatically down and then back up in the distance. The beautifully designed cottages must be around 1200 Square feet, with separate living area and bedroom area with seating, and large bath. Both areas feature double doors to the equally large furnished deck. These cottages are beautifully appointed with thoughtful touches like space heaters in the bedroom and bath, fireplaces in the living and bedroom area, and lovely soaps, shampoos, etc. Clean and more than comfortable. In the evening, you will be asked what time you would like your fire lit and in which room. You will also find a fine chocolate truffle on your bed, and a hot water bottle within. Talk about pampered! Smiling, efficient and professional service all the way around. Outstanding bartender. Would absolutely recommend a visit here and hope to return in the future.

While we loved being in the various camps we stayed in at Maasi Mara and the Serengeti, it was nice to stay here for a luxury change of pace without feeling like you where in some big hotel. The staff was wonderful, the rooms were amazing and the overall experience was just fantastic. Don't worry about it being a little bit outside of the crater, we saw plenty in our one day at Ngorongoro!

Great service. Gorgeous cottages. Beautiful grounds. It's a lovely property all around. You can't go wrong here. And so nice to come back at the end of a long day and get a drink and a snack in the common area around the fire.

My wife and I stayed three nights in this lovely property. Lodge Manager Manoj Shah and his outstanding staff did everything possible to provide us with a warm welcome and incredible service. The hotel took care of our airport transfers from Lake Manyara airstrip. We used Coastal Aviation for our arrival from Arusha and our departure to Serengeti. We arrived late for lunch, but Manoj Shah kindly arranged for us to have lunch at a table with a beautiful view of the surrounding valley. We were offered room 11 or room 19. We selected room 19 due to it's secluded location and beautiful views. About 80 steps are between room 19 and the main lodge, but we welcomed the exercise and enjoyed the room location. Later we watched the sunset at the outdoor pool, while sipping on drinks provided poolside by the staff. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and box lunches provided for the game drives were all outstanding. The hotel arranged for private all day game drives of Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara parks. The drives were terrific, including a stop at a Maasai village on the slope of the Ngorongoro Crater. This was a great opportunity to learn about the Maasai way of life and culture. The village Chief's son gave the tour. The charge was $50 USD for the tour, which we paid directly to the Maasai guide. The Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge cottage/suites are large and beautifully decorated, with broad decks from which to enjoy the views. The property grounds are manicured to perfection with flowering vegetation in abundance. What a paradise! We debated whether to book lodging on the Ngorongoro Crater rim like we did on a prior visit. But while it is nice to see the Crater, you cannot actually see animal life from the top of the rim. In the end, we were quite happy with our choice and hope to return to Neptune Ngorongoro Crater Luxury Lodge on our next visit to the area.

We had a wonderful stay here whilst on our Tanzania Safari....you woul be hard pressed to find anything so beautiful with a pool to cool off in after a big day out on game drive! The villas were just beautiful...very spacious with separate bedroom, lounge and bathroom with a huge balcony out front to gaze over the valley at sunset and watch the elephants come down to graze in front of your villa. Sensational place with lovely food and drinks all included in the package we had....nice touch...good wine and beers! The staff were fabulous, very caring, nothing was too much trouble and were always available to help...the power went out one night and they were all quick to get candles around everywhere until the generator came back on....that just added to the charm of the place...we just loved it! Breakfasts, lunches and dinners were all more than adequate...we even had them back a picnic one day to take on our game drive so that we didn't have to come back for lunch and it was delicious! Would highly recommend to stay here.
