Bluefields Bay Villas in Bluefields, Jamaica
Bluefields Bay Villas rings with authenticity. It’s a rare all-inclusive experience where guests are immersed in the Jamaica that existed before tourism - staying in cottages isolated from each other and the rest of the world. This is the leeward side of the island, so the waters – and life – are calm around here.
Your Ideal Day: Breakfast is served when you awake - no need to rush anywhere. Don a snorkel and fins and swim right into the water from your villa to spend some time with the damselfish. Or take the glass-bottomed boat out a bit further for a snorkeling experience with a group, friendly captain and cooler of Red Stripes. Paddle out into the calm, tepid bay on sea kayaks to watch the sun set into the water ahead. Dine on traditional pumpkin soup, salt fish and conch prepared by your villa chef, in the intimate space of your own private “island” accessible by land bridge.

Reviews for Bluefields Bay Villas
We stayed with a group of 6 adults and our 2 year old daughter. I've never stayed anywhere before where we continuously discussed coming back... The staff end up feeling like family when you leave. You can tell they truly care about your stay and want to have genuine, intelligent conversations with you because to them you have come to stay at their "home". We did two hikes into the mountains with our gardener and it's also clear that unlike most resorts Bluefields was built with the community in mind and together with the community. I felt safe and welcome at all times. The food was out of this world! Most times when we vacation I leave feeling bloated and guilty for eating too much "crap". We are very selective with our nutrition for our daughter and our family in Toronto. We definitely indulged at Bluefields but the difference was that all food was fresh, never processed and made with all local ingredients. We had fresh pureed soups and salads with every meal. I can't describe the food other than we ate like kings and queens. The food was made with love from Miss Rose and served on the most beautiful china. They accomodated everyone in our party. Dwayne and Carey were so amazing they knew when to give extra care with service, when to spend time chatting us up and when we were enjoying simply relaxing. Anything we needed (such as endless champagne) was no problem and "of course". They are both just all around great men. Tasheka (our nanny) was the perfect fit for our family. We LOVED her. Our daughter took a real interest to the lovely cats and dogs of the property and she constantly took her to visit them. She joined us at the beach and remembered anything such as sun screen or toys we may have forgotten. Our villa was a short walk away but, if I found myself looking for sunscreen or my daughters water and we forget it would magically appear as Tash never forgot. When we return I look forward to seeing Tash again. All in all if you want to relax and experience the real Jamaica in complete luxury with awesome, special people don't hesitate, just book. P.S. The jerk chicken lunch was out of this world. Words can't describe and how can you not enjoy coming back from vacation with CLEAN clothes in your suitcase? Thank you, Bluefields! You are doing it right.

A group of 11 (10 adults 1 child) of us stayed at the Sans Michele. By the time we left after 7 days the staff felt like family to us. They are truly a group of amazing people who just want to make you happy and your vacation the best you have ever had. They go above and beyond. We went there to celebrate my sister in laws 60th birthday but I left there engaged. Total surprise to me and everyone else there. My boyfriend went to the staff on Wednesday and ask them to throw a little something together because he was going to propose to me. They made this beautiful arch thing made of palm trees with a heart on the ground made of beautiful flowers. They had champagne, hors d'oeuvres and even had our room decorated and with another bottle of champagne. We had a child with us so we had Nashauna (sp) was the nanny and went every where with us.She was fantastic. Percy was our driver and drove us anywhere we wanted to go. Percy was great.Marvin served us drinks all day long. I cannot remember all the staffs name they all were so amazing and they are the reason I want to go back. You will not regret staying at any of these Villa's. We had the pleasure of seeing a couple of them.I could write a book on how great this place is. Thank You so much to the staff at Sans Michele. We will be back. Who knows maybe for my wedding:)
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Milestone Cottage at Bluefields, and we could not be happier with our choice. We were there at the end of April and the weather was perfect. In the mornings we kayaked to the sandy beach, where we could sit in the shade or swim in the calm, clear water. We had lunch most days in our private cabana at the cottage, down by the water with a cool ocean breeze, and enjoyed afternoons in our private pool. We had an amazing sunset view every night at dinner time--cannot stress enough how GORGEOUS this place is (the photos barely do it justice). Perhaps the best feature of Bluefields is the people--they could NOT be friendlier and did a great job making themselves available while still giving us our privacy. Shaki is an incredible chef--some of the best meals we've ever had--and Steve and Thermogene took SUCH great care of us and made us feel like we were with family. From gardners to drivers to the attendants on the shared beach, everyone always had a smile and our every need was taken care of. The tips we would have for visitors at Milestone is to bring watershoes (would have made it easier to get in/out of kayaks on the rocky beach by the cottage) and a little backpack so you can ferry some books or games over to the sandy beach. And don't hesitate to ask the owners any questions you have about travel, customs, gratuity, etc--they are happy to give the insider tips. We would love to go back, perhaps for an anniversary!
We stayed with a group of 8 at the Mullion Cove Villa. Everything about the experience was terrific but most of all the service was exceptional. There is a large staff that takes care of everything. They are super friendly & take the time to get to know your name & genuinely want to make sure you have a good time. I can't say enough about how great the staff was - probably the best of any place I have ever stayed. This will be a bit longer than my typical review - a lot of great stuff to bring to potential visitors A few other highlights: 1) I mention "historic " experience in the title. As part of the trip, we had 3 sit down meals a day with fine china & silver at each meal (different china every sitting), with meals cooked to order. All the decor feels like it might have 100 years ago , and I mean that in a good way - like this was furnished with decor that came over on boat from England. So it was a really interesting mix, with a modern beach feel & a historic feel in the house & when dining. It really added to the experience - very unique. Not your typical beach house experience. 2) On the food & drink scene, you can get complimentary champagne (or equiv. bubbly) lunch & dinner. The other house wines are so-so. I would recommend getting their "premium wines" if you like wines with meals. In reality, these are "mid-level" wines but are priced reasonably & are definitely a step above the house wine (which is complimentary) 3) There is some snorkeling right off the front of Mullion Cove but I would recommend going early in the day. later in the day, the winds generally picked up & made the water visibility lower. For better snorkeling, hire the glass bottom boat to take you out to the patch reef - classic / typical Caribbean patch reef. 4) Watch out for sea urchins if near any rocky areas in the water - lots of urchins , easy to step on. 5) Sign up for the hike to Belvedeer with staff if you want some local flavor. Something you will not get a big resort, 6) I would recommend Mullion Cove, Hermitage & Cottonwood Villas first as they have walking access to a long sandy beach, as well as easy access to kayaks & a staff member who will bring you drinks on the beach. there are shade trees on the beach as well there. 7) No surf here for those who may be interested. That being said, the water did get choppy in the afternoons from sea breezes kicking up with the heat of the day.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in mid April celebrating our anniversary. We stayed at the Milestone Villa. We debated between Cottonwood and Milestone but settled on Milestone and I am glad we did. Once we arrived at the airport we were greeted by the Mobay Staff and went thru customs pretty quickly. We then had drinks and snacks while waiting for our ride. This was very nice after flying in from the states. The ride is a little mountainous to get there from the airport, it takes a little over an hour. Once we arrived at Milestone Villa, we were greeted there by the staff, (Very nice). We met Carmen, Shaki, Thermogene, Venroy, and Steve our butler. Carmen was good at getting everything settled and Steve took care of us. Shaki's is the chef and his meals all week were excellent. Each meal overlook the pool which overlooked the Caribbean sea, awesome view! The food was very good and my wife ate more then me! Venroy took us on a hike in the mountains (good exercise) and we enjoyed the views. The jerk chicken lunch was amazing and we met others that were there from Montana. The night watchman/butler (Levi/Fabian) were very friendly and helped us as we needed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone to enjoy the layed back atmosphere at Bluefield. We also met with the owners (Debbie and Braxton) and they offered us to view Mullion Cove with appetizers and refreshments. We kayaked each morning to the private beach where you can sit in natural shade and sip drinks! They have somebody to take care of you! The street noise was sometimes loud but you get used to it. My wife likes cosmopolitans in which we asked prior to the trip (verbal and e-mail) and they said they have it. But when we asked the butler, they did not know about that drink. They had vodka and cranberry juice and lime but no triple sec. Eventually we did get the triple sec and we had to show them how to make it. It all worked out. If you are thinking about a trip to relax, great meals, butler service, and enjoy a great view, go to Bluefields!
