Bluefields Bay Villas in Bluefields, Jamaica
Bluefields Bay Villas rings with authenticity. It’s a rare all-inclusive experience where guests are immersed in the Jamaica that existed before tourism - staying in cottages isolated from each other and the rest of the world. This is the leeward side of the island, so the waters – and life – are calm around here.
Your Ideal Day: Breakfast is served when you awake - no need to rush anywhere. Don a snorkel and fins and swim right into the water from your villa to spend some time with the damselfish. Or take the glass-bottomed boat out a bit further for a snorkeling experience with a group, friendly captain and cooler of Red Stripes. Paddle out into the calm, tepid bay on sea kayaks to watch the sun set into the water ahead. Dine on traditional pumpkin soup, salt fish and conch prepared by your villa chef, in the intimate space of your own private “island” accessible by land bridge.

Reviews for Bluefields Bay Villas
We just came back from Bluefields Bay. It was our 20th year wedding anniversary and boy, we were so fortunate to have found Bluefields (it was by total accident)! We had 2.5 year old toddler so having a nanny part was too good to pass up. From the time of booking till we left Jamaica, I felt like we were living a life because we were treated with such care and attention. First of all, booking process was so personable and easy - Debbie is wonderful, she will personally call you, chat with you, hear your needs/what you are looking for and make personal suggestions on which villa suits you the most (or probably suggested excursions or activities). You will then get your account set up where you can pre-select what you want to drink (how you want your villa stocked), your food/meal preference, etc . . . She even called a day before our departure and offered us an option to stay at a bigger house because that was closer to the house where a guest with small children would be staying and she thought our daughter woudl enjoy playing with other children, which we graciously accepted. Once you arrive at the MBJ, your VIP status kicks in full gear - you get to breeze through the immigration by walking passed the long time and wait for your driver (if that was your transportation choice) in the comfortable Mobay Club with cold drinks and food which was very nice. We did not have to wait for our driver Navil to come pick us up. As soon as we get to his car, he offered us an ice cold Red Stripe for the road, at which point, we knew our vacation officially started!! We took a recommendation of stopping at the jerk pork stand - it was by far one of the best jerk pork we've ever had. Once we arrived at Mulligan Cove, we were greeted by the full staff, including Alfred, GM and an ice cold cocktail. While staff took care of our luggage, we took a tour of the house - an oh my gosh, what a breathtaking view! The villa was big but not overwhelming - it had Spanish influence and was very sensibly decorated/furnished. Despite being the luxurious villa, it came with a lot of charm and a total comfort (and it was perfect place for our daughter to play hide and seek). We immediately felt like home. As other reviewers described, for the next 7 days, we were pampered, well cared for and well fed. Every one of the staff is incredible. Having a nanny, butler and a chef really allow you to enjoy your family time without worring about what to do that day, what to eat for dinner, or chasing around a toddler. We got to sit back and relax reading a book, enjoying a pool/beach time and having a wonderful 3 course meal made of fresh local ingredents every night, which was exactly what we wanted to do. The toughest decision for me was to pick a spot each day to read my book (terrace overlooking the ocean, hammock, gazebo, poolside, etc . . . ). It was also nice that we got to meet other guests as well (or if you want a total privacy, you can absolutely do that as well). On the last day, we stayed at Milestone Cottage where we were originally booked. I have to tell you - the view from the house is THE BEST. It was unfortunate we did not get to fully enjoy because I got sick. Speaking of being sick, I must also make a special mention of Alfred who personally drove me to the local Dr's office when I got sick, waited patiently and drove me back, and Carmen who called them ahead of time so they would see me right away. Thanks to them, I was out and back in less than 2 hours (Drs office was 20 min away). But this really gives you a sense of how far they'd go to care for you. Last but not least, we really enjoyed and were humblied by our experience visiting to the local school. We are already talking about going back there perhaps with other friends. This has truly been a dream vacation for us. It is great that many staff there have been working for Bluefields for many years (some nearly 20 years!) because that means we can probably see them again when we go back. They truly become a part of your family. If you are looking for a large croud and a place where "you want to see/be seen", you probably want to go to other all includive resorts, but if you are looking for a quiet, comfort luxury, I cannot recommend Bluefields enough!

Just came back from our first wonderful visit to Bluefields Bay Villas. I'm calling it our first visit because we are sure to return again. We were able to see 5 of the 6 villas while we were there and they are more beautiful than the pictures on the internet. The food was absolutely first class. Every meal was perfect. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to escape and relax.

My husband and I recently stayed in Providence House at Bluefields Bay. Prior to our trip, I had read many of the Trip Advisor reviews, so my expectations for a beautiful, private, relaxing, luxury vacation were high. We were not at all disappointed. The villa was beautiful, and the setting - overlooking the sea was incredible. I share many of the positive sentiments expressed in other reviews, but would like to add a different perspective due to our unique circumstances. On our third day (out of an anticipated 12 day stay), I experienced an unfortunate medical emergency. Thankfully, all is now OK, but I can't say enough about the responsiveness and caring of the staff. Alfred, the manager, happened to enter the Villa as things were unfolding, and he quickly and calmly gathered us together and took us to a nearby doctor. He stayed with us the entire time, helping us navigate a foreign health system. Upon our return to the Villa, the rest of the staff - Aldene, Vian, Okeem, and others could not have been more caring and helpful. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances, we had to end our trip way sooner than we had hoped. Since returning home, I have heard from many of the staff inquiring after my health. To be honest, I thought it somewhat contrived in my pre-trip perusal of other Trip Advisor comments when they talked about how the staff became family. However, after this experience I strongly echo that sentiment!! We will certainly return to Bluefields again soon to visit with them and experience all that we missed!

Bluefields is a very unique resort as each villa is totally private--giving you the option to be as social or as reclusive as you desire. Our family of four stayed in two of the villas (The Hermitage and San Michele). Both were stunningly beautiful but for our young children (aged 4 and 9) we preferred the Hermitage because it was steps from the beach, where as San Michele is a short drive. The villas come fully staffed with a chef, nanny, night guard, butler and housekeeper. Every staff member we encountered was exceptional. They worked as a team to take care of our every need and made sure we were having a fantastic time. Fancy a cocktail on the beach? No problem! A romantic dinner by your pool? Absolutely! The staff consistently went above and beyond for us and we learned a lot about Jamaica's rich culture and history from them too! Another excellent thing about this resort is that laundry is done for you EVERY day. Our family could actually pack carry-on luggage for our vacation and then breeze through the airport! I would highly recommend you do the same. You don't need to worry about bringing tons of shoes and clothing-- I brought 3 sundresses and 3 bathing suits and that was plenty. The only thing that I would have enjoyed was a bathrobe in the room and some extra toiletries such as body lotion. The rooms do have shampoo and conditioner but no other toiletries. Also-- the pools are not heated but after a day or so you get used to it and I actually found it refreshing after tanning in the hot sun. It is not often you find beautiful accommodations, excellent food and sparkling wine and fully staffed villa (nanny and laundry services included) for an all-inclusive rate. Bluefields Bay Villas is luxury for the entire family-- we can't wait to go back!

We stayed in Mullion Cove and had a great time. Everything about BBV is superb from the food to the service. It's a great place for families too as they have nannies and children's activities. I traveled there and met three friends for a girls getaway. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed hiking up the mountain across the street from the front door of Mullion Cove. The views are spectacular. We went to the Black River and YS Falls. The River was great and a chance to see many birds and crocodiles. YS Falls was crowded (kids were out of school that day). There's also a glass-bottomed boat and great snorkeling. We also loved just sitting out at our pool, kayaking and enjoying the food and the sunsets. It is such an amazing place. Hope to return there soon.
