Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

We had my daughter's wedding in Feb 2026 at Dreams Cancun which we planned for over a year. We were very specific and detailed with the decor for the reception and included color photos (from previous weddings at the same resort) in the contract. We had the reception on the boardwalk near the ocean and planned to have a wooden structure with fairy lights and white sheer drapery. On the day of the wedding at 10am I noted that the structure for the reception was completely different than the one we chose. I immediately went and told the wedding coordinator that it was incorrect and asked for it to be changed. We paid $3,500 for this structure and discussed it in detail several times including at the final meeting two days prior. I was told just hours prior to the wedding that it was a mistake by the wedding coordinator and could not be changed as they would not have enough time to set up the correct structure. After several hours of debate, at 1pm, the incorrect structure was taken down and they started to put up the correct structure and my daughter had the reception she envisioned. This mistake came at the expense of the Mother of the Bride.... I understand that mistakes happen and if they had just made the necessary changes at 10am I would not be writing this review. I had to debate with the coordinator and manager for over 3 hours before they finally agreed to make the changes and all this time caused me to have very little time to get prepared. I was unable to have my hair done as I missed my timed session. I missed most of the time that I was supposed to be spending with my daughter in the bridal suite. It was a very stressful day and in the end my only goal was that the bride was happy and had the wedding she planned. This issue really ruined what should have been a very special day....... I will not be returning to this resort.

Dont usually complain. Booked preferred ,ocean view in Dreams Riviera Cancun. Room a bit dated but v. nice with great view.Food just ok. Staff wonderful particularly on beach ,restaurants and in rhe bar preferred lounge. Looked for late check out at concierge desk in preferred lounge as we had a long overnight flight back to Ireland at 21.15 on Tuesday. Told to come back 1/2 days before check out. Did so tonite to be told after some pushing that room already booked by new customer Surely they know in advance, so why give people the possibility of late check out when they know room is already taken. They offered hospitality room but could not confirm what type or where in complex that room might be. We would have to come back to the desk at checkout. Seems incredible that they have no idea of availability seeing as we could see lights around complex showing lots of vacant rooms. Maybe they have no interest in Irish customers as predominately guests are American/Canadian . Further update to vome but I am not hopeful

My family and I (5 adults, 2 kids) just got back from a week’s stay at Dreams Riviera Cancun. We had a great time. This is the 4th Dreams resort we’ve been too, and probably one of the best. It’s not too big, so everything is easy to walk to. There are 2 restaurants on the beach. We were in a preferred room and had a view of the beach and the pool (room 2350). We had access to one of the restaurants on the beach for breakfast, as well as the preferred lounge (inside and outside space), and a preferred section on the beach. If it’s in your budget, I would highly recommend choosing preferred. Food: I have celiac disease and was worried about what I would be able to eat. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of options there were at the restaurants, and how accommodating they were. Each restaurant had a few gluten free items. The dessert choices were limited (fruit or pannacotta) though. Room: The 2 critiques I have about the room is that I wish the balcony had a rack to hang wet clothes. There is a thin string in the shower, which makes no sense to me. There is also no USB chargers except for one in the TV. You need to bring chargers that can be plugged in the wall. Staff: had no issues with staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Jonathan (entertainment staff) was always energetic and helpful. Entertainment: the shows were the basic shows you see at resorts. Nothing spectacular, but ok. Pools: 3 pools in total. A kids pool that both my 7 yr old and 10 yr old enjoyed, the activity pool, and the adults only infinity pool with swim up bar. I don’t understand why this was adults only, as the dreams Macao in Punta Cana had a swim up bar and was available to all. Chairs are not always easy to find because people will go early in the morning to put their towels on the chairs (not totally fair). There are shaded beds you can rent, which in my opinion are way too expensive ($100-150 US a day), especially if you’re Canadian. Beach: a fair amount of algae, which is normal for Mexico, and they cleaned it every morning. Sand was nice. Bars at the beach. Not too many locals harassing you with what they’re selling. Weddings: The Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa is a fantastic place to get married. During the week that we were there, there were at least five weddings. The resort offers several locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. As our room was close to the beach, we appreciated that the music never went past 10:00pm. Overall we had a great time at the Dreams Riviera Cancun. We would definitely go back!

Most wonderful hydrotherapy experience with Tami. The spa garden is tranquil and amazing. Very well looked by the lovely Tami. The Spa & Gym are five star- thank you 🙏🏾
