Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

July is a hot month in Mexico and there was a lot of seaweed, but the entertainment team kept our family having fun! Oliver, Vivian, Erwin, Yael, Jonathan and Francisco helped us make bracelets every morning, water aerobics, archery shooting, beach volleyball and pool volleyball plus a Spanish lesson and card games too! My daughters and I took the bicycle tour to Puerto Morelos with Jonathan and felt safe exploring the town. The evening shows were very entertaining and the food options were great. We really enjoyed ourselves! The only down side was the high pressure vacation club membership they want you to sign up for upon arrival. We had to be very direct in our not wanting this.

Resort was clean but a little dated in some areas. The bathroom area in the rooms were just glass doors open to the rest of the room so you better be comfortable with who you are staying with. Dinner experiences were mixed. When the vendors were at the resort it seemed like they had a deal with the resort to make people wait to get into dinner so they had to shop. We went to dinner that night around 7pm and everyone was being told it was 45 minutes to an hour even though there were open tables. Food was decent but we have had better at other resorts. Beach was fine but the ocean was unusable because of the seaweed, they did have staff trying to clear the beach as much as they could but it was just too much for them.

Erwin was the best archery instructor!! Very kind person and cared about my improvement and enjoyment of the sport. I’m grateful to the staff that made our trip so much better! (And he makes the best bracelets!)

A lot of very nice people servicing the resort, especially there was a lady in the world Cafe buffet who went out of her way to get us the desert we wanted, and at the archery range, Erwin was amazing at showing us how to shoot, and conducting the sessions with humor and great atmosphere!

Property is awesome! Second time back this year already! The property is gorgeous, the pools are very nice, restaurants are very good (we are foodies), the beach is large and plenty of room to play on and the rooms are very nice! The seaweed on the beach is icky but that’s most places so can’t hold that against the resort! Went with our grandchildren (3 and 4 years old) and they had a blast swimming and just in general! We did see two kids with scooters which IMO should not have been allowed but what can I say! I can only hope that resorts think twice before allowing them. They are too dangerous to be whipping around when there are so many people in the area! All of the staff at the resort are awesome! I’ll call out Jessica though because she wanted to make sure we found an open table on a very busy night! So sweet!
