I recently traveled to Dreams Riveria with my husband and 4 kids (11, 9, 9 and 7 years old). I was excited by all the good reviews I had read about the location and had previously stayed at a different Dreams property and was highly impressed. We opted to pay extra for the Preferred Level as it was a trip for our 40th Birthday/15th Wedding Anniversary. Upon check in we were sent to the preferred lounge which was very loud and nosy due to construction. One of the representatives responsible for checking us in spent the whole time just trying to promote a trip for us to tour a different resort during our stay and he was very annoying and pushy. Multiple time throughout our stay he flagged us down pressuring us to tour so he could "earn his points". Everyday, multiple times per day, our room keys did not work and we had to go to the lobby to get them reset in order to gain access to our room. There was ZERO benefits of being "Preferred" guests as our personal concierge Alejandro did nothing for us, on day of checkout he said he would arrange for the front desk to pick up our luggage but no one every came and we had to lug our luggage across the resort in the rain with our 4 kids. When we made it to the lobby I notified him that no one ever came he just said "oh sorry" and walked away. Additionally when it comes to dining if you are not in line at least 30 minutes before a restaurant opens you are looking at an hour wait. It was very frustrating to see servers completely ignoring my family as I had to flag down a waiter at the buffet just to get a glass of water while he was was freely attending to other tables pouring mimosas and having conversation. This same behavior was observed at the beach and pool when our party was consistently skipped over for drink orders and once again everyone around us was getting service. I had originally planned for a much larger party to attend the resort with us but Im glad it was just my immediate family because it was easier for me to compensate for the lack of hospitality exhibited by the staff.
