Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The food was fabulous, and the hospitality throughout the resort was exceptional. Every staff member — from the service team and chefs to the managers — took great care of us and made us feel comfortable and welcomed during our entire stay. The attention to detail, warmth, and dedication shown by the team truly made our vacation special. This resort created unforgettable memories for our family, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cancun. A truly must-visit resort at least once in a lifetime. I went by myself and had such an excellent time!! Some people ask me why I don't go to an adults only resort but honestly, I feel safer at a family friendly resort as a single female. And this resort was perfect for that because they have 3 pools, 1 is meant for kids, it has a jungle gym in the pool, that is where the kids want to be. Another one is for everyone and the 3rd is adults only and has a swim up bar, my favorite! I thought the food was very good but I am not a "foodie", the Italian restaurant was my favorite for dinner and the World Cafe is an all you can eat buffet and I went there every morning for breakfast. My servers at The World Cafe were Alex and Carlos and they were the absolute best!! Also, there is a bar on the beach that no one seems to know about, there was barely ever anyone there. My bartender there was Jose and he was excellent.

Good and bad. Overall very average. I probably wouldn' stay here in the future. I've had much better experiences at other resort spas. We did enjoy the volleyball and pool basketball.

We spent eight glorious days at Dreams Riviera Cancun. The location is perfect. Directly in the middle of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. About fifteen minutes from either of the bigger cities. The closest city is a short bike ride away (resort offer bikes!) is Puerto Morelos. Our room was perfect. Large balcony with a jetted tub/jacuzzi on the balcony. The nightly turn down service was top notch. We even got to pick which scent we wanted sprayed for our aromatherapy each night. Room service is 24 hours and very helpful for the late night snacks. Restaurants on site were very nice. Typical mix of upscale Japanese, Mexican, Italian, French, and steak house. Plus the poolside grill which offers pizzas, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. You can never go wrong with all inclusive. No thoughts about if you want to spend money for another drink or bite to eat. Our favorite bars were the swim up bar at the pool, and the Rendezvous Bar in the lobby. Favorite drinks: All of them!! Our favorite part was how we were made to feel like family or friends visiting. We made notes of several workers who 100% deserve a shout out for their outstanding service: Esequiel at Himitsu Japanese restaurant. We ate here three times. On our first visit we met Esequiel. He is so pleasant and accommodating. Our second and third time, we requested his area, and he did not disappoint. Victor at pool service bar waiter. We rented a cabana three different times. The first two times we were in Victor's area. He is great! It is so nice to see people who don't mind being at work. On our third cabana day, we were not in Victor's area, but he still made time to come by and say hello. He also made sure we had everything we needed. Clever at the Rendezvous Bar. He greeted everyone like a friend. Remembered our names after our first drink there. Called us by name every time after. He knew our drinks, and was able to recommend other drinks we might like. His friendly smile was very nice to see every time we walked up to his bar. Anei at the VIP lounge. She is the epitome of service. We would go in for a quick drink or bite to eat. She was so efficient at managing the whole VIP lounge. We never waited for service or refills. It was like visiting a friends house. Mawi at Hyatt Unlimited Vacation Sales. Yes it is "like" a time share. But, it is NOT a time share. I know, it makes no sense. Mawi was such a pleasant person to deal with. We felt no pressure, but at the same time, we felt Mawi was genuinely watching out for our best interest. Ultimately, we did purchase into this vacation group. Mawi explained everything so well. I am almost positive, we would not have purchased from any one but Mawi. Manual from the Entertainment Center. Our first encounter with Manual was when we took a guided bike/walking tour of Puerto Morelos. Our group was Manual and my partner and I. Small, intimate, and fun! Manual truly enjoys his job. Our next encounters with Manual were either on the grounds as he was rounding up guests to watch one of the nightly entertainment shows. Manual was also the emcee for several of the shows. His passion and happiness is contagious! There were many other great workers at this resort. These were just a few that we truly felt could be the "face" of Dreams Riviera Cancun. They helped make our trip as good as it was.
