Lack of communication. Watch out for overcharged to extra activities on credit card. It does take a while to get a refund back.

Water was a disappointment due to the seaweed. No top shelf liquor, even tequila! Everyone you talk to is trying to sell you something or talk you into an upgrade. We loved it there 4 years ago, but it is changed now. Food is still really good and the staff is really nice, if they are not selling you on something.

10 Night Trip travelling from UK. Overall I would give the hotel a 7/10. Positives - -The hotel is extremely well maintained, staff across the resort work tirelessly all day to maintain the grounds, from continuous sweeping of the pool area, and cleaning in and around the restaurants, I could not fault the hotel aesthetically. -We stayed in a Preferred Club Ocean View room and the room itself was lovely, it was extremely clean, spacious and it did not look tired or worn. -Service was great, Victor round the Adults Only pool couldn't do enough for myself and partner, and made the effort each day to have a chat. -Samuel and Eddy from the Mexican restaurant were amazing, there was a traditional dish I had always wanted to try, and they arranged one evening during our stay for it to made, and it was incredible. Negatives - -We have stayed at multiple Dreams resorts before in Preferred Club, and I felt as if in this particular resort you really did not gain much... there is no Preferred Club Pool which often makes a big difference and is quieter, the beds on the preferred beach are no different to the normal and at previous resorts Dreams resorts you are often given snacks and an upgraded mini bar in the room, there was nothing. -The food is okay, its a large resort and they are catering to the mass, so I would never expect your local restaurant type quality... however, I would expect more than 2 prawns in a 'Seafood Pasta'... and we had a few meals where food came out barely warm. -The Sargassum at the hotel was for the best part kept under wraps, but the barrier in the sea broke and took 5 days to repair, which seemed to be simply reconnecting it to the buoy... the area in front of the 'Preferred' part of the beach was left with large piles and stagnant water, which invited flies and mosquitos, you couldn't use the preferred area without holding your nose or swatting insects. -People often eating at their sunbeds, and leaving half eaten food and dirty plates on the floor or wherever they deemed convenient (find a bin) often led to birds covering the area and dropping half eaten burgers into the pool... as well as some eating food in the pool and dropping pieces of food, only to leave it to float around... Overall the hotel is very well maintained, the rooms are clean and spacious and clearly looked after, the staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond, I do not see the benefits of the preferred club, sargassum is one of those things you cannot control and need to expect but it did ruin the only real separate area for preferred guests... and my last negative comment is at no fault of the hotel, but rather some of their more untidy and inconsiderate guests. The food quality could be improved. It is good, but could easily be better.

Messer Mario, Gerente Abraham, chef Victor and hostesses cindy @ PORTOFINO were AMAZING. Our whole trip was perfect. Staff, room, food, kids club, pools, beach, comfort = all tops. But the last night we were treated amazing. Definitely coming back. (Family of 5)

Carlos (ocean restaurant), Pedro (adult cabanas), Vicente and Martin (adult cabana) were all amazing. So informative with local suggestions and extremely helpful. They made our stay the BEST EVER!!
