Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

First the good: The staff were almost universally helpful and gave great service irrespective of whether they got a tip (we tipped regularly and generously). The exception was check in which was poor with very little information about the hotel. In theory there is no booking at the restaurants but sometimes whole restaurants were pre booked for weddings and at others large tables were pre-booked for large groups. The restaurants have no soft furnishings to absorb the noise of the shouting of large groups of rather disinhibited people. We were twice showered with glass because a rather excitable guest at another table knocked their glass over. During our stay there were 3-5 weddings a day. At times access to large areas of the hotel was prevented (including the lobby) by weddings. At least 50% of the guests were attending weddings. Each day began with a new set of weddings. There appeared to be a smoking area immediately adjacent to the “grill” restaurant and if the wind was blowing inland it spoilt our meal. Both staff and guests used this area. We’ve been to many all inclusive hotels in the past but have never been to a wedding factory quite like this. We wouldn’t stay at a dreams again

Upon arrival we were greeted by our wedding co-ordinator Carolina. She was so helpful with everything not just wedding related queries. We were taken to our room and were blown away by the cleanliness and beauty of the grounds. The room was stunning. Super spacious. Only flaw is the lack of drawer space for things like underwear and socks (hardly a problem) . The rooms were equipped with a fully stocked fridge with beer, soft drinks and water. We had a clothes steamer, irons are also available, an umbrella, a stand for our suitcase to easily unpack and a hairdryer. Our room had a jacuzzi bath inside, double sinks, 2 double beds and a sofa. The pools are clean. The beach does have some seaweed but is very well maintained and the sand is like talcum powder. All staff are so attentive, our drinks never got down passed half way and they were asking if we wanted more. We mainly dined at buffet due to having fussy children but we did try the Chinese which was beautiful. The entertainment was amazing. The dancers and singers were great. Then came the most important day of our lives. Our wedding day. It was set up beautifully and we felt so special and stress free. We had our ceremony at the gazebo and our reception in the cabana due to being a party of 6. The children were so well taken care of..they enjoyed the jacuzzi pool whilst we danced and had fun. The food at our reception was phenomenal. The servers Abel and Alex were perfect. We didn't have to ask for anything. They made everything so enjoyable. My son had an obsession with only eating toast so they got him some. We had an amazing day. Every staff member was so polite and cheerful. Thank you so much Carolina, Abel and Alex. You have a special place in our hearts for your hard work and love for your jobs.

Super excellent experience. The staff was the standout in this wonderful experience. Particularly E, Gabriel Santamaria Z. the awesome concierge who was very professional , warm and exceptionally helpful. Kudos too to Fernando , their supervisor. This whole team will make every effort to make one’s stay an unforgettable one.

Wonderful resort. Food was amazing, pools were lovely. Resort was nice and clean with a lot of entertainment options. Favourite part of the resort was Uzzy, who was part of the entertainment crew. He was fabulous and made our week that much better!

Roberto from the French restaurant (Bordeaux) was absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful time all thank you to him going the extra mile. Fantastic service. Delicious food. Amazing experience
