Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

Beautiful resort, kept extremely clean. The staff was wonderful, with everyone greeting us any time we passed. We LOVED our room, the layout was different, but fun, and the view was amazing. We watched the sunrise from our bed. Of all of the all-inclusive resorts we have been to, the food at Dreams Riviera was by far the best. The chef at the French restaurant came to our table to welcome us. Gilberto & Alejandro at the buffet, Librado at Oceana & Seaside, and Gerado at Portifino were such fun and we looked forward to seeing them as often as we could. JC and Andrea at the UVC office were a blast and we went there just to see them few times. The ONLY drawback from us was the lack of a Premiere pool. There is an adults only pool that was fine, but all of the chairs were set up behind the cabanas so there was very little view of the pool/ocean from the "poolside" unless you rented a cabana for the day. All that to say, we would probably return just for the room view and the food. It's a great place for couples AND families. We really enjoyed our stay!

Just returned from Dreams Riveria and we were all counting the days till we could leave and come home! Very disappointed with the resort as stayed here 2 years ago which was good but the care and standard has deteriorated. We upgraded to Preferred Club but our mini bar wasn't replenished and never received snacks. My daughter never received fresh towels or water and also their mini bar wasn't replenished or snacks received. The children's pool wasn't that clean. My husband ate from the Coco Cafe and was unwell and missed his whole holiday almost going to hospital and was seen twice by the doctor due to getting Cyclospora an intestinal bacterial infection. Staff in the World Cafe were lovely and the chefs were very helpful. Unfortunately we won't be returning again. Also the children's entertainment is very poor and nothing available for young children.

PROs Pool was great. We enjoyed the beach, in spite of the seaweed. Pool entertainment staff were amazing. Food options great. Especially the Italian and Teppanyaki table. CONs We were a family of 5, and had to book 2 rooms. Through our travel agent we had requested adjoining family rooms. When we arrived our 2 rooms were at opposite ends of the same floor. We asked to have the rooms allocated together, we were informed that an additional fee of $100 per night would apply for our trip this would have cost an additional $600. We did not pay this and were assigned rooms side by side without a connecting door. Room decor a little tired and no privacy in bathroom area. Bath completely open in room, shower and toilet had opaque glass with clear 2 inch frame of clear glass around and strips in the middle. Seaweed smell very strong - although you do get used to it. Not a whole lot for kids older than the explorers club to do….

The resort is absolutely beautiful, surrounding you in warm colors, wooden walkways and railings, tropical trees and flowers, and fun fauna like coatis and iguanas all around. Service here is phenomenal. The staff remembers your names and drink preferences no matter where you stop for refreshments and even if you only met once! Food is great here, and as professional chefs, my boyfriend (now fiancé!!) and I were extremely satisfied. The shrimp burrita at Seaside Grill was delicious. Himitsu’s Vietnamese spring rolls were so good, and the chicken pad Thai was perfectly seasoned and those noodles were perfectly cooked. The best meal by far was the Romantic Dinner on the Beach, and I’m not just saying that because my man executed the PERFECT surprise wedding proposal! He says the staff quickly and happily worked with him to arrange this dinner and to include the proposal at the end. Andy was our excellent server, and Mariel Lara and Hector made us feel so special by congratulating us on our engagement with such enthusiasm! It was truly a night we will never forget. Even the full moon lined up to shine on our cabana perfectly! The plates for that romantic dinner were stunning! First, the selection of ceramic-ware elevated this dinner to a very fine dining experience. The plating was beautiful, the flavors were absolutely on point, everything came out hot, the table-side service of pouring the chowder added a nice touch, the steaks were the perfect med-rare as we requested. I happened to get so lucky with the proposal dessert—it is usually a cheesecake, but they served us tiramisu—my favorite dessert of all time! The stars all aligned for that dinner, and I can’t thank Andy, Mariel, and Hector enough for coordinating with Ruben and his friends and family to make his proposal sooooo beautiful!! We can’t wait to visit again, maybe even for the wedding! We had such a wonderful experience. We only wish it was longer!

We had an excellent stay and would happily return. Hector made our immersive Mexican dining experience unforgettable. His passion for sharing Mexico's history and culture was inspiring, and the time he spent teaching our son made the evening truly special. Armando looked after us at breakfast each morning and was always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. Our son especially enjoyed chatting with him, and his kindness made every breakfast a pleasure. The entertainment team did a fantastic job providing a great variety of activities throughout our stay. Our son especially loved the Crazy Games, and Erwin made a lasting impression by taking the time to show him magic tricks by the pool—a thoughtful gesture we'll always remember. Anahi at the World Café was always attentive, greeted us with a warm smile, and consistently provided excellent service. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding hospitality and authentic cultural experiences. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome, and they helped create wonderful family memories we'll cherish. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so memorable. We look forward to visiting again.
