The whole experience was just okay. The food was decent, not great. Drinks were tasty but very little alcohol. There were never enough chairs at the pools, yet people would leave towels and not return for hours. They ran out of towels at the pool every day. We rented a cabana one day which was very nice but they didn’t have our reservation when we showed up at 10 (reservation started at 8) and we had to wait a long time while they sorted it. It was all just…..fine. Definitely appreciated service provided by Alex and entertainment by Oliver.

Dreams Riveria Cancun is a solid choice!! This was our second time in 2025 at Dreams Riveria Cancun. We came in February with family to enjoy an 80th Birthday, and then came again in November for Thanksgiving and my daughter and husband’s birthday! Both times we stayed in the Preferred Club block of rooms overlooking the pool and beach. I will give an honest review of what we would found to be the Pro’s and Con’s. Pro’s: Aesthetically, the resort is pleasing. They have a lovely lobby, lush gardens, sparkling pools, and a beach free of seaweed and nice sand. It’s on the smaller side. You really can walk quickly from one side of the resort to the other. This is fantastic for families with small children or elderly or people with mobility issues. If you forget your sunglasses or the diaper bag in the room at the dinner, you can be there and back in less than 10 minutes. Huge plus. It’s very clean. They are constantly wiping, sweeping, mopping, gardening and housekeeping is regular and consistent. I never once saw anything out of place or something I considered dirty. The Explorer’s Club is fantastic. My kid’s genuinely wanted to go there everyday, and having them safe and happy allowed my husband and I a few hours of pool time or beach yoga and it was absolutely a game changer. The arcade is fun too, make sure you check it out. My son even got to light the tree at the Christmas Tree Lighting event in the lobby with the Explorer’s Club. It was heart warming how they included our family and brought tears to my eyes. Gabriel at the concierge desk went above and beyond to make my daughter’s 3rd birthday special. Balloons, a cake, helping us with reservations, it was unbelievable. Antonio at the pool also helped make my husbands 40th birthday Bali Bed special and decorated. Alex our server was great attending to us all day. It is a fun and friendly place to celebrate a birthday, especially if you pay for a Bali Bed. The maintenance is responsive if you have an issue. The door on our balcony didn’t close and there was a large chip missing out the tile on our outdoor Jacuzzi that our daughter cut her leg on. However, they came and fixed it the next day. The housekeeping is responsive as well, if you need an item or something to be cleaned up, you can call and they were assist relatively shortly. We thoroughly enjoyed the Hydrotherapy at the Spa. It was refreshing and the extra touch of a cold towel and cucumbers in the hot tub was lovely. Keep in mind, they no longer offer the service to Preferred Club members, only if you pay for a Spa Service. The quality of shows are excellent. We loved the Fire Show, Magic Show and they now have a kid’s mini disco a few times a week that my kids were thrilled to attend. They also do a Paia lunch with Brazailian dancers and Taco Lunch on the Weekend’s. However, these aren’t until 1:30/2pm and once they are sold out of the food, it’s gone and it goes quickly. The Con’s: It’s loud. We were told they do about 423 weddings a year here, and are one of the biggest properties for weddings. Hey, good for them, and they handle it well. Just be prepared. Bring white noise machines and noise cancelling headphones, and you will be OK. If not, weddings go until 11pm and crazy game at 3pm will cut into your siesta :) Bring snacks!!!!! Especially if you have young children. I did this the second visit, and it was game changing. The buffet is closed from 11-12:30. The Barefoot Grill doesn’t open until 11:30-12:00. By the 8th day you are thoroughly sick of mediocre hot dogs and hamburgers and this leaves a bit of gap in the food arena. The food is hit or miss. We had a great meal at El Patio and the Himistu Hibatchi table. However, our steak was literally raw at Seaside Grill and our Osso Bucco was also straight up raw at Portofino. We aren’t that picky, but undercooked pork is 100% a food safety issue. The Preferred Club isn’t worth it. The servers and bartenders in the Preferred Club are the least friendly in the resort. The food is mediocre and doesn’t really change over. There isn’t any ambiance like some of the other All Inclusive Preferred Clubs. So we will skip it next time. This isn’t the place to go if you wanted unbelievable activities and events, like foam parties or constant entertainment. They have a few events at the activities pool during the day. A Zumba class, bracelet making, and then some type of game at 3pm (water balloons, music trivia, volleyball) but that’s really it. The shows are also usually in a Conference Room that reminds you of where your company would go for their “all hands meeting” in Room B. The quality is good, but they don’t have a dedicated show area or arena like other resorts. All in all, I would give Dreams 8/10. The service, cleanliness, Explorer’s Club, Beach and size of the resort make it a viable place for our young family to spend time in Cancun. Thanks for the memories, Dreams!!

This is a mid-size hotel with all amenities close. I met my son and family there, they have a 5yo and 1 1/2 yo. This resort is perfect for young kids. Lots for them to do, crafts around the pool even. I was very impressed with the daily entertainment and activities. There is a great kids pool with water slides which the 5 yo loved. There is also an adults-only pool with swim-up bar. The resort is right at the beach. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The wait staff were very aware of the kids, helping as much as they could, especially in the buffet restaurant when I took the kids by myself. Perhaps not so good for older teenagers or those who want to party, but great for families. I highly recommend this resort for families; I would go again.

The beach was nice, Pools were nice, restaurants were really good compared to any Riu I have stayed at. Buffet for dinner was mid however we only went there once since the restaurants were so good. Snacks during lunch time were good. Really liked the fresh made pizzas! Premier club I feel was worth it. It allowed us to have a better beach experience and an amazing breakfast experience everyday! Would purchase that again. Check-in was slow as a Premium member which was annoying after a 12hr travel day and then pitch to visit another resort was slightly annoying. I am on vacation I don't want to go anywhere else or waste my time hearing your pitch. I paid good money to be here, give me my room key and leave me alone. Staff were great and rooms were nice. Our view in our pool/ocean front rooms was off the charts. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

We have been long time Dreams Resorts vacationers. This was one of the worst resorts and worst staff we have ever experienced.
