Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

I have stayed at this resort chain many times at different locations and have generally had very positive experiences, which is why this particular stay was such a huge disappointment. The biggest issue was the food. The quality was simply not good, and the buffet had virtually no variety. It was essentially the exact same food every single day. At other resorts we are used to seeing different themes, rotating menus, and various food stations throughout the week. Here, there was none of that. After a few days, eating the same limited selection became extremely disappointing. Even more frustrating was that the buffet would randomly be closed on certain evenings without us being aware ahead of time. One night, we arrived for dinner with our kids only to find the buffet completely closed. The à la carte restaurants were all full and had waits of approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Our kids were starving, and we were left scrambling to find somewhere for them to eat. It was incredibly frustrating and turned what should have been a relaxing family vacation into an unnecessary hassle. I am particularly disappointed because this is not the level of experience we have come to expect from this chain. Having stayed at several of their other properties, the difference in food quality, variety, and overall dining experience at this location was very noticeable. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this particular resort and would not return.

World CAPP MAGOALENA GOSSES MAURICO MANAGER Dinner Buffet Manager of the dining room buffet was so polite, respectful, friendly, and made me and my daughter feel so comfortable. I was here last year. He was the same way then I really enjoyed myself and hopefully because of it and because of all the nice people who work here we can come back as a family of A maybe about 20 of us next year thank you so much for the way the whole place is set up. I will spread the word to all my friends and family.

I was very disappointed in my experience at dream Riviera Cancun. I expected to have a better time than I did and I’ve enjoyed other resorts more than Dreams Riviera. Food at resorts are usually not five star, but the food was worse than I expected it to be. There was limited entertainment for adults and it seemed the resort prioritized children over adults. I wasn’t given the room I requested I was made to believe that I booked the wrong room even though I showed proof of the room that I did book. I likely would not be to returning to this resort, if I am to visit Cancun again. I will say I expect more from a Dreams resort.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing 10-Day Stay! We had an absolutely wonderful 10-day stay at this resort, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed, comfortable, and truly cared for. A special thank you to the buffet staff extra thankful for MAURICIO MANAGER, to OUR SERVER ALEX AND GiLBERTO LAURA THE OMELET LADY who went above and beyond to make us feel like family. Their kindness, smiles, hospitality, and attention to detail made every meal feel special. They remembered us, my daughter name and she smiled every time we went to eat they took care of us, and always made us feel right at home. ❤️ It’s the people who make a resort memorable, and the staff here truly made our vacation unforgettable. By the end of our stay, it felt like we weren’t saying goodbye to staff—we were saying goodbye to friends and family. Thank you for making our 10 days so special. We just landed and wanted to share my experience since I find them helpful when booking. I’m going to preface with the following: -We went the last week of August which is part of the slow season. -We had a preferred swim out room on the marina side facing the preferred pool. -We do tip for all services- bar, restaurant, room service, daily housekeeping, etc. not because we felt we had to, it’s just part of our culture and are used to it. -We had kids 7, 9 & 14 -We travel regularly to different parts of the Caribbean and usually stay in 3-3.5 star resorts. Now the review- We had the most amazing time. We found the staff to be incredibly accommodating and friendly. At check we were take to the premier area with food, drinks and water. That was a first for us and so appreciated! After being up since 5am and getting there at 3pm, we needed food and cold drinks. Our room was a great size and we took full advantage of the pool in the morning and evening as well as the room service. Beds are comfortable full size and there is a less comfortable pull out also. The shower was a huge walk in with a clothes line (so helpful!). Daily housekeeping left our room super tidy and very clean. They always left plenty of towels and lined up my girls stuffed animals. We mostly swam at the premier pool and loved the snack menu (such good chicken wings!) and service. I will say the beach was a let down. The online pictures definitely don’t reflect the actual pool. Even though the seaweed was a lot less, it was still there. It reminded me of a lake and less like an ocean. My kids loves the natural pool, but it was still a bit slimy. I would recommend to bring a snorkel mask, pool noodle to wrap around your belly and water shoes. We enjoyed all the restaurants and especially the bbq on the beach on Friday. Yes, not every restaurant was open everyday but that didn’t take away from our experience and we really enjoyed all our meals. Town was a bit of a miss for us, mostly restaurants and the same shops. But we did rent a gold cart from John ‪+52 999 359 0522‬ and had a great time exploring and riding around. We paid for a day pass at the local beach so we had a pool and chairs. It was 100% worth it and more of the beach experience we were hoping for. My girls snorkels right off the beach and found fish, shells and so many hermit crabs. 3 adults got massages and enjoyed the hydro circuit- absolutely incredible and I highly recommend. Guadalupe massage was exceptional! In town we did the dolphin and manatee experience, what a magical day! I know my kids are going to remember that time together. Not once did I hear from my kids they were bored. They swam, explored, ate, saw different animals and did the water slide. We are very “go with the flow” travelers and bring games and pool toys with us. We aren’t looking for entertainment and water parks. If you are looking for a chill, small, friendly resort, this place was perfect! We would definitely return and probably around the same time period to avoid larger crowds.
