Had a great experience overall. Perfect value, Very efficient staff any where you go from the front desk, housekeeping to restaurants. Everyone is willing to help and not wasting any time. highly recommended

Only stay here if you don’t want to eat, sleep, or care for any type of service from the staff. Awful experience! Day one our family of 17 had to go to bed without eating. We waited a couple of hours for a table at one if the specialty restaurants because we were celebrating a birthday and when we asked for the status they laughed at us. They never stopped sitting other tables to make room for us. The only other option was room service. Their wait was 2+ hrs, mind you it was after 10 at this point and we had small children and they were out of many menu items. There was no other food options so we went to bed without eating after traveling all day. The nighty noise level (in all 5 rooms) was like nothing I have ever experienced. Night 2 a drunk guy tried to force himself into one of our rooms with a child in there and my family member was told to “calm down” over the phone while wrestling to shut the door. Same night and every night after raccoons and cats fight over the food on the floor from room service trays that never get picked up. Had to call to request pickup even though they weren’t even mine just so we could attempt to sleep. Day 3 the buffet ran out of food we ate lettuce. Food by the pool was out 80% of the time and all bars close at 5 except for the lobby away from everything else. The beach was full of seaweed that never gets cleaned so it smelled like dead bodies and you could not even stay on the sand most days. We provided this feedback and were told that seaweed is natural and they can’t help it like we are idiots. The arcade is only for children 10 and up and the “trampoline park “ is one small trampoline that was closed our entire stay. So nothing for small kids other than the pool. The cafe is fine unless you need more than 2 drinks then you are made to feel like a bother. So not convenient for big families. Their snack options are leftover pastries from the buffet, fruit salad that was syrup by our last day and sandwiches that were starting to turn colors. The spa experience was great. Alejandro at the beach bar was the only smile we saw in that place; always happy to serve. We were asked at checkout how our stay was only to be argued with when we gave our honest feedback. So at least they were consistent until the end.

Beautiful resort, kept extremely clean. The staff was wonderful, with everyone greeting us any time we passed. We LOVED our room, the layout was different, but fun, and the view was amazing. We watched the sunrise from our bed. Of all of the all-inclusive resorts we have been to, the food at Dreams Riviera was by far the best. The chef at the French restaurant came to our table to welcome us. Gilberto & Alejandro at the buffet, Librado at Oceana & Seaside, and Gerado at Portifino were such fun and we looked forward to seeing them as often as we could. JC and Andrea at the UVC office were a blast and we went there just to see them few times. The ONLY drawback from us was the lack of a Premiere pool. There is an adults only pool that was fine, but all of the chairs were set up behind the cabanas so there was very little view of the pool/ocean from the "poolside" unless you rented a cabana for the day. All that to say, we would probably return just for the room view and the food. It's a great place for couples AND families. We really enjoyed our stay!

Just returned from Dreams Riveria and we were all counting the days till we could leave and come home! Very disappointed with the resort as stayed here 2 years ago which was good but the care and standard has deteriorated. We upgraded to Preferred Club but our mini bar wasn't replenished and never received snacks. My daughter never received fresh towels or water and also their mini bar wasn't replenished or snacks received. The children's pool wasn't that clean. My husband ate from the Coco Cafe and was unwell and missed his whole holiday almost going to hospital and was seen twice by the doctor due to getting Cyclospora an intestinal bacterial infection. Staff in the World Cafe were lovely and the chefs were very helpful. Unfortunately we won't be returning again. Also the children's entertainment is very poor and nothing available for young children.

PROs Pool was great. We enjoyed the beach, in spite of the seaweed. Pool entertainment staff were amazing. Food options great. Especially the Italian and Teppanyaki table. CONs We were a family of 5, and had to book 2 rooms. Through our travel agent we had requested adjoining family rooms. When we arrived our 2 rooms were at opposite ends of the same floor. We asked to have the rooms allocated together, we were informed that an additional fee of $100 per night would apply for our trip this would have cost an additional $600. We did not pay this and were assigned rooms side by side without a connecting door. Room decor a little tired and no privacy in bathroom area. Bath completely open in room, shower and toilet had opaque glass with clear 2 inch frame of clear glass around and strips in the middle. Seaweed smell very strong - although you do get used to it. Not a whole lot for kids older than the explorers club to do….
