Shantall, Wilbert and Vincente at the Preferred bar are the most AMAZING STAFF. Shout out also to Josue, Alexander , Daniel from the swim up bar and Paulina the best waitress! This was our 4th year coming to this resort and we keep coming back because of the staff! We love this resort!

Amazing Vacation

Had a great time at this resort ! The rooms were clean and spacious. The maids did an amazing job every day cleaning our rooms and leaving us treats! You do wait a while for dinner reservations but every meal was worth the wait! Especially the mexican, italian and japanese! The main lobby bartender Clever was AMAZING!! Remembered all of names and drinks by the second day! Uzzy from the entertainment team went above and beyond everyday. Thank you to him for making our week extra special. Definitely recommend the bike tour into puerto morelos!!

A lovely little resort

This is a lovely small resort. We went as adults with no children and except for some screamers, we were not bothered by the kids. Unfortunately for the time we visited, the Sargassum on the beach was plentiful and putrid. The smell kept us from the beach and out of the water. They did a good job at removing it, but the decrepit resort to the left had no one to clean/remove it and it was atrocious smelling, noticeably all around the resort. The staff here are some of the best I've ever experienced as far as helpful, happy and eager to help. I did not encounter one staff member not smiling or saying Hola. The food is really good. I tried all of the restaurants except for El Patio Mexican and found my favorite to be the French restaurant. Abraham at the Himitsu grill was our favorite waiter on site! The pools are very chilly in March when I was there. It took a great deal of bravery to get in and dunk! Shout out to Viktor at the infinity pool for keeping us well-hydrated. All of the bars were great with fast service, for the most part. The slowest being the swim up at the infinity pool. Often, there was only one server and a lot of thirsty swimmers. I had access to the VIP lounge and Wilbert made sure to pour exactly what we wanted all the time! He was gracious and genuinely friendly. The grounds are pretty, but as I said, this is a small resort and not a lot to see. If you're a beach walker, the Sargassum kept me off of it. You could only get so far without having to walk through it. The Desires (disco) lounge had good music and fun events including karaoke and silent disco. We enjoyed it a few nights. I'd recommend this resort for people with children as its got a great pool and lots of activities to keep them busy. Overall, I was quite pleased with my week at Dreams Riviera Cancun.

Stay Somehwere Else

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Absolutely terrible resort. The rooms had many things broken, mold in vents/ hot tub. Staff was not helpful with benefits of our room or when asking for clarification. We had the presidential and no one told us about the cabana we had daily. We tried to change it to the pool and the concierge told us to find someone else to ask, who then sent us somehwere else. Food was usually cold or raw. Dinner took over 2.5 hours after sitting down at all restaurants except Oceana. Not many options, even regular ones such plain alfredo. Noise from weddings went late at night. The best food was probably the ham sandwiches in coco cafe.

Avoid. Save your money

Truly would not return. Everyone calls themselves a manager and does not work to resolve problems, instead they read off a policy book and give a cookie cutter response to every issue without tailoring it to the individual guest. One manager Edwin Perez, told me on multiple occasions that I would have to wait 3 hours for a resolution because his priority was the arriving guests and I’d have to wait. I am not paraphrasing, I am not over exaggerating. I speak both English and Spanish, so it wasn’t a translation issue either. Another manager Erick Flores also threatened to call security when we were wrongly charged on check out and stated we couldn’t leave until it was paid and next time to get things in writing. It was a terrible experience overall, and I would never return to this property. Also, the dining issue is terrible. The only place that requires a reservation never had openings over 4 nights. The other restaurants didn’t require reservations but had over an hour wait time. We had to eat at the buffet each night which was just repetitive, basic food. We were particularly disappointed with the Mexican restaurant as being in Mexico we expected higher quality Mexican food, but it was the same chips and pico/guac you get at the pool or tough meat; there was risotto on the menu on multiple occasions which just turned out to be regular rice. Drinks were watered down. I just expected more for the price I paid. And you should remember to pack long pants to gain entry to the restaurants because dressing well isn’t enough. A guest can enter their French restaurant wearing sneakers and sweats but dressed in a button up shirt, Bermudas and loafers aren’t good enough because your pants aren’t long. They definitely did not earn a return customer.
