Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

We had the most wonderful family week at Dreams Riviera! For 9 days we were able to relax, be entertained, eat great food and do some fabulous excursions. Everything was clean, well maintained and the staff was very attentive. Everyone was so kind and our kids had an absolute blast!! We would highly recommend for any family vacation.

I just got back from a family trip, celebrating my mom’s 70th Birthday. I went with my two sisters. We had the best time, full of laughter, silliness (par for the course for us), activities, food and drink. The rooms were great, spacious, we had ocean view rooms. The staff were so accommodating. A few shout outs to Oliver and Vivi on the entertainment team, Charlie and Suzu in the preferred lounge and Hector at the Seaside Grill. I will definitely go back one day. They had so many activities, every day we were there we did the stretching/yoga/pilates. On our second day, we did Sip and Paint & Aqua Zumba, led by Oliver and Vivi. They have so many restaurant choices, The Italian restaurant Portofino was excellent, The Seaside Grill was a goto for breakfast. Oceana had the freshest fish, I had the Salmon, exquisite. We booked our stay through my older sister’s membership. It was essentially $120/day/person for unlimited food, drinks and fun, very worth it. There were even exotic animals around d the resort. We saw cats, iguanas, raccoons, birds, and some kind of animal that looks like a raccoon but not quite. We were even invited to a special dinner hosted by the executive chef in an intimate setting, only about 20 people in attendance. It was a very memorable experience and the staff there were excellent all around. My older sister and nephew created the commemorative Yeti mugs for the trip. Great resort for our family to have a great vacation with friends! The entertainment staff were great and all the activities for kids are excellent. Manuel and Uzzy in particular on the entertainment team are amazing and go about and beyond to create a great experience. They got to know our kids and helped them have so much fun! We were disappointed the infinity pool was adults only as it was often not very busy. I think the resort should consider changing this during spring break time or potentially dividing the pool and just having the pool bar side be adults only.

Very relaxing, friendly staff

The staff was the only redeeming quality. Clever and Victor were amazing!! They remembered our names from the first moment we met them. The food service was extremely slow. The resort didn’t have water for almost 8 hours one day. We never had cold water in our room so we had to take scorching hot showers. Our thermostat didn’t work so it was always 70-72 degrees in our room. The electricity would randomly go out. The rooms have zero storage so we had to live out of our suitcases. There’s also zero privacy in the room which makes it uncomfortable when you’re traveling with family. The food was less than desirable minus a few specialty restaurants. The resort was pretty small compared to others in the area. We won’t be back or recommend this place to others.
