Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

My husband and I just returned from our first vacation to a Dreams Resort - it was amazing? Dreams Riviera Cancun - I don't think I can say enough good things! Arrived at about 8:30 Jan 23rd - easiest check in ever. German was ready with all the information we needed and honestly, it took about 5 minutes. We were having supper at the buffet in about 20 minutes. No lineups, no hassle! Rooms - our room was a deluxe King size tropical view - it was large and very clean. We also got turn down service every night - a first for us but it was much appreciated! Housekeeping staff was prompt and accommodating World Buffet was great - we ate there on our arrival - food was delicious - the buffet area was clean and tidy and the staff were amazing! The A La Carte's were 10 out of 10, 2 thumbs up delicious! I highly recommend the Seaside Grill! The atmosphere was great and I cant say enough good things about the hostesses, and wait staff. The pool was great - lounge chairs were always available and Eric Ramirez was our pool concierge - he went above and beyond to find us a great spot to spend our days. All in all, it is the BEST resort we have been to and will definitely return! One small downside was the ocean was very rough and a lot of seaweed - definitely nothing to do with the resort. I did see maintenance staff hauling the seaweed away, but it was difficult for them to keep up!

While staying at the Dreams Riviera, we ate at this restaurant three times because of fantastic the food and service was. We were treated super well by Vicente. He was there for us all three nights and he was the reason why we kept going back. Thanks again for everything!!

Pros: - Rooms are great! - All employees were fantastic! - Food was standard for an all-inclusive. Cons: - Pools too cold. Nobody gets in them. They need to heat the pools during the cooler winter months. - Not enough pool or beach loungers. And its not even close. Occupancy was 80% while we were there (I asked), and if you did not have a chair saved before 8am you were not going to have one (best locations are taken by 6:30am). In addition, there is one small cocktail table per 8 chairs. All-inclusive resorts need to have 1 for every pair of chairs because you have drinks constantly. This is the standard everywhere else. There was no place to put your drinks, so everyone has to put drinks on the ground. Please invest in more small tables! (In the picture I posted it shows tables because I got up early and took them) - They have recently placed tall cabanas at the infinity pool (a money grab as they must be rented). This must be new because other pictures in these reviews do not show them (the picture I posted shows them behind our chairs - our backs were towards the beach because we could not see it anyways). The problem is they placed them along the pool where they now completely hide the view of the infinity pool, beach, and ocean from anyone not in one of those cabanas or at the other pools. Its like a giant wall now blocking the view. Everyone was talking about it, so its making everyone angry. In addition, it takes away space for about 20 more lounge chairs that used to be there, and it's the most desired spot because of the swim-up bar, infinity pool, and adult area. This needs to change immediately! Put the cabanas back down on the beach where they used to be!

We had the most amazing time at Dreams Riviera Cancun. The hospitality and kindness is above and beyond. We rarely had to wait for dinner and everything is clean and well cared for. The pools were great and the activities were well thought out and very family centered. The staff made this trip unforgettable. The waiters were helpful and kind. The entertainment team is seriously amazing at what they do. Oliver with the entertainment team made our entire trip. Our daughters looked forward to the days that he worked. He immediately knew them by name and invited them to all of the activities. He would even play in the pool with my 6 year old during activity down time. Our trip would have never been the same without Oliver. Another entertainment team member, Uzzy, was very funny during the night programming. He made sure our daughters were laughing and having a good time. This resort is very family friendly if you’re looking to travel with your children. The night events were rich in culture and tradition. It was great to get to experience.
