Stayed for ten nights. Firstly the positives. Some fantastic staff. Beautiful lobby which was nice for evening drinks. Though difficult to get a seat early evening. The resort has a lovely layout and feel and the gardens were well looked after and clean. All outdoor areas very clean and copius amounts of staff. Lots of pool butlers and waiting staff in main buffet. Only two of us in our room so it was spacious. Housekeeping didn’t come for 2 nights but it wasn’t a huge issue. Great entertainment staff for mainly events round the pool. Given it was Easter and clearly a lot of families away for a break, at times large groups around the pool took no care in swearing (loudly) around the sun beds with lots of kids around. Large groups being loud was the normal which when you just want to relax is just not great - plus the poolside music got louder as the day went on which sent us scurrying off elsewhere for some peace which is impossible to find in this resort. Negatives. Coffee shop could be 3 times bigger. Way too small for such a large resort. The food was diabolical. No other way to describe it. Buffet, bland and one of the worst we had seen as an inclusive buffet at such a well known branded hotel. Waited 75 mins for Portifino. A further 40mins for food and was served stone cold. The food was so cold it’s clearly being cooked several mins walk away and being brought to each restaurant. It’s cold in every restaurant we tried unless it came on a skillet. Terribly Long wait for food which when you’re with kids - bad news. The worst part of this hotel is the large groups of weddings and their guests which overrun the pool side and everywhere else, and the hotel closes areas depending on where the wedding is. There was 2 a day, almost every day. They clearly throw everything in to their weddings. The music was so loud at night if you had poolside or beach side rooms with small ones, you’re getting no sleep. It was louder than Glastonbury! I had to call reception at 230am to tell them to go and clear the party that was in the hot tub. 45mins later it finally went quiet. This hotel could be much better but has the bones to be great. Hyatt need to hugely have a think about the ratio of large groups to families/couples. As per the other reviews it seems their sister hotels offer a much better experience. Think carefully about what you want from your break before booking this hotel. If it’s good food don’t go here.

Israel is the best!!! we got a pool side cabana for every day of our trip and it was absolutely a no-brainer and totally worth the cost

This place would be good for families with young children who are comfortable going without their parents to the kids club. The pool slides are also good for kids 5-8 ish. For older kids it had less to offer, other than an indoor arcade. Eating for large groups is challenging and restaurant choices are limited for dinner before 6:30. Best restaurant was Oceana for fish and great location. Friendly staff. Clean, spacious rooms. Not enough chairs around the pools so folks reserve them before 7am! Check out facilities before you go.

My family (2 adults and our son is 2) just returned from 4 nights at the Dreams Riviera Cancun. We had a great time and overall enjoyed our stay. We went with the preferred club and I would say it was worth it, we were delayed arriving and the preferred club check-in was so smooth and easy and it was nice to have access to the lounge the entire trip. We also enjoyed having breakfast at the Seaside Grill as we weren't the biggest fans of the buffet (mostly just personal preference). We also enjoyed the complimentary hydrotherapy session and would highly recommend, it was super relaxing. We had an ocean/pool view and we thought the room was great, nice and spacious. However, the floors in the bathroom get extremely slippery when wet so just make sure to lay down a bath mat or towel. Our son loved the kids pool and had so much fun going down the slides. If you have little ones I'd recommend letting them play on the slides earlier in the day as come afternoon the bigger kids get on them and can get a bit rowdy. Since we were up early (630am) each day, we had no problems finding pool chairs, even when we went down around 8am we could still find some. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach and I thought the resort did a good job of trying to stay on top of it, which is all you can ask for in my opinion, they don't control the ocean haha. Our son wasn't old enough for the Explorers Club but we really enjoyed the baby room. It had AC, a ballpit and age-appropriate toys, so it was a great way to get out of the sun while also letting our son play. We went to the Mexican, Japanese, Italian and Seafood restaurants for dinner and thought the food was fine, what you would expect for resort food. We went usually within 30 minutes of them opening and were always seated right away. The staff was all lovely and friendly and ready to help if you needed. In terms of noise levels from weddings, we were in our room at 830pm every night and didn't once have an issue so could just have been where our room was located but we never found the resort to be too loud at any point during our stay. Also the resort is 14 years old, it's going to be a bit dated, but we thought they did a good job of upkeep and our room/public areas of the resort were always well cleaned. Overall, if you're looking for a smaller resort with your family, I would say Dreams Riviera Cancun is a good mid budget option.

We just got back from an incredible week at this resort. Cesar from the entertainmentteam, went above and beyond to make our stay extra special! The beach cleaning crew worked hard every day with the extra sargassum so that we could swim in the ocean. The preferred club breakfast was our favourite meal, overlooking the ocean. We stayed in room 2416 and loved our ocean view. The staff were all warm and welcoming, I highly recommend this resort for a quieter, relaxing vacation.
