Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun

Don’t stay here unless you want to spoil every other resort for yourself! We came for our honeymoon in February, and I’ve been dreaming of returning ever since (so much so that we’ve already booked a second trip for October). I have never taken two hot holidays in one year, let alone returned to the same resort twice, but Live Aqua completely changed the game for us. Right from the start, the convenience blew us away. The resort is so close to the airport that the excitement of landing hadn’t even worn off before we were pulling up to the lobby. It’s also directly across the street from a mall, which was perfect for grabbing anything we forgot (and yes, we came home with cute décor items and Crocs). It’s a great alternative to the typical overpriced resort shops. We booked a Viento Suite with the Club upgrade, so check‑in took place in the Aqua Lounge. I have never had a smoother check‑in experience. We were escorted to the lounge, told to help ourselves to snacks and drinks, and they handled everything while we relaxed. They explained the resort, set us up with our butler on WhatsApp, and then surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to a Tierra Suite. By the time we were escorted to our room, our luggage was already waiting for us. The room was immaculate; spacious, spotless, beautifully scented (the resort’s signature fragrance is heavenly), and complete with a huge balcony and incredible views. The jetted tub was clean (yes, we tested it!), and the amenities were thoughtful: shampoo, conditioner, a beach bag, flip‑flops, and even a little rubber duckie to take home. The resort itself is modern and airy indoors (almost like a high‑end spa) while still giving off that warm “Mexico” vibe once you step outside. Everything feels clean, open, and intentionally designed. My favourite part? The activities. Even with less‑than‑perfect weather, we were constantly entertained by the incredible entertainment team. We did archery, bingo, cooking classes, alcohol tastings, crafts, casino night, karaoke; you name it. Ricky keeps an amazing staff, and it shows. The food was outstanding. Not a single bad bite the entire trip. We didn’t try Carnivor, but we loved MB and Hidden Garden. During the day, there were so many pop‑up food options that we had to pace ourselves so we didn’t ruin dinner. My husband has several food allergies, and this resort handled them better than anywhere we’ve ever stayed. Menus were clearly labeled, and staff confirmed his allergies at check‑in, at the restaurant kiosk, at the table, and again when delivering his meal. Even at the Mexican buffet, a chef walked him through every dish to explain what was safe. It was such a relief. And while all of that is enough for a 5/5 rating, it’s truly the people who make Live Aqua unforgettable. Every single staff member greeted us like family. They asked our names, where we were from, why we were visiting. It genuinely felt like we were the only guests there. A special shout‑out to the entertainment team: Ricky, who works tirelessly and clearly loves what he does. Mariana, who felt like chatting with an old friend; warm, sweet, and hilarious. Alex, whose love for Tita and Goya (the resort’s beautiful parrots) is so genuine and heartwarming. Some people leave a mark on your life forever, and Live Aqua has several of those people. This resort is a life‑changing experience, and it’s no wonder we’re already counting down the days until we return.

We stayed at Live Aqua from July 9-15 and had an amazing experience. Upon entering the hotel lobby, we received warm greetings from the concierges, and the registration desk. They careful explained all the amenities of the all-inclusive hotel and were available to answer questions at any time. One of our favorite people was Rosalino Julio. He consistently checked in with us to make sure everything was fine at the pool, helped us with reservations, shared the beautiful Mexican culture with us, and was very attentive. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable experience. Edgar, another concierge, was also guest focused and provided us with some Mayan history. Mayra was also a joy at the reception desk. Flavio y the towel workers made sure we always had access to fresh and clean smelling towels. Mirian and Margarita - from house keeping were attentive as well. Every night house keeping knocked on the door to offer extra towels and to turn down the bed. Other people who made our stay enjoyable were- Archer, Chaire, Mauricio. Victor, Rodolfo, Susana, and Frida. On a few occasions while at the pool, Chefs Cesar and Ernesto prepared delicious ceviche, shrimp and fish tacos. The servers at the pool kept us well ‘hydrated.’ And I have to give one more shout out to the aerobics, instructors, Ricky and his pal for doing a great job with water aerobics- such great energy! Overall, we had a wonderful and memorable experience. Rosalino, above all, treated us like family. Thank you to the staff and to Live Aqua, for everything! We will definitely be back!!

I have visited Live Aqua many times, and when my sister and I decided to take our 87yr old father on vacation Live Aqua was our first choice. My father is very tall 6’7” and has had both knees replaced. We were concerned about walking and getting in and out of the pool. However, there was no need. Not only did the resort supply us with a wheelchair that fit him perfectly, everywhere we went someone ran over to assist us in pushing him. Luis and Mauricio at Azur were fantastic helping us get my dad down the stairs for an ocean view for lunch. Luis then helped us at dinner to navigate the ramp at Hidden Garden. BTW both meals were amazing. The servers around the pools were always there when we needed a hand. They were so sweet to my father, it brought tears to my eyes how caring they are. They all called him Papi. Lots of love to David Gomez, Amineal, Jonathan, Andreas, Usiel and the loviest ladies Ali, Marisol and Monica. The pool hut team and Flavio were awesome, always made sure our cabana was ready to go and my dad could get in and out easily. The resort itself is always so clean and well kept. My father who is a retired engineer could not stop talking about the efficiency of how the resort was run. From the touch pad lighting next to the bed to how clean and air conditioned the pool side washrooms are. However what really wowed my father was the attention to detail at all meals. Love the Aqua Club! Daniel in the am with his dancing cappuccino and Guillermo at night is an amazing mixologist. The Club is totally worth the upgrade, my favourite place to sit and enjoy the views of the ocean or the sunsets over the lagoon. The best of all Daniel is an amazing dancer and does a show by the pool once a week. DO NOT MISS, there is a real Mexican buffet and the entertainment is amazing. Trained dancers with passion, loved it. The buffet breakfast at Siete with servers David and Carlos were great. We loved Marco’s smoothies and Bianca’s omelettes. MB with chef Wilian was an amazing experience. The habanero soup so good! The steaks cooked to perfection. It was so great to see Roy, he is hilarious. Varenna the Italian was so good, loved the pizza and Gorgonzola pasta. Hidden Garden Asian fusion never disappoints. If you like spicy they can make it as spicy as you like. So fresh tasting. We did splurge and booked at Carnivore. It’s not included however it’s a must have experience. Raul (manager) so knowledgeable, described the aesthetics of the restaurant. Leonardo great server and amazing magician. They make it worth it. Then the food, OMG the Mac n cheese made table side in a wheel of parmesan to die for. The steaks we had ribeye and fillet you could cut with a fork. The portions are a good size so we ordered apps and split the steaks. We had key lime desert so good! A very special thank you to Chef Ernesto and Chef Cesar for special attention to detail. I have multiple myeloma and I am in active treatment. Chef Ernesto made sure all my dietary needs were met and a special thank you to Jonathan Chaire for ensuring my pool side needs were met. Both are amazing men. Thank you Esmeralda for everything. My father is still talking about you lol. I think I may have a new mommy 🤗. Finally our butlers. Ruddy, Sakny and Maggie. They met all our needs and took such great care of our father. I’m so sorry if I missed anyone, guess I’ll just have to go back and try again! This is the best resort in Canun! Yes there is seaweed, but life is short and nature is beautiful even when it’s not always wanted.

I went with my wife and it's my second time going. For the price it is pretty good! the food was hit or miss, some of the restaurants it was incredible, some others it was meh. The food for the pool is ok, not the best burgers or the best wings, but enough to enjoy . They use cheap liquor unless you request a specific brand and unless you are there watching what they use, but good liquor is available. I will say the service was incredible, the rooms were super clean and nice. The entertainment main guy, Ricky Ricardo, is INCREDIBLE. A true professional, he was great at the aquaerobics, he gets everyone pumped. A big difference when he is not leading. Also, for the pool Alejanda kept our drinks full without asking and had an amazing attitude. Luisa was also fantastic, but want to give Kudos to Ale as we had her two days and she was just incredible.

The resort was wonderful in every way for our family - ages 19 to 80 years old! We will return, for sure.
