Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun

This was our 10th trip to Live Aqua in Cancun and it will not be the last. Trip 11 is being planned. The best part of Live Aqua for us, apart from the amazing service from the staff, is the small size of the resort over all. There is no need to get on a bus/tram to go between your room and the pools and/or restaurants. They are very much like Disney in the fact that the resort is incredibly clean and you hardly notice the daily maintenance but rest assured, it is being done all the time. We have never had a bad meal in any of the restaurants. Do not skip Azur for breakfast or dinner. The Coq au Vin was memorable and the tuna carpaccio was the perfect starter. The dish of the trip this time was the lasagne from Varenna. The number one reason we keep returning to Live Aqua is the staff. They have truly become friends. We were disappointed when we arrived that both Daniel and Guillermo from the Aqua Lounge were both away for their own (well deserved) vacations. Have no fear, Belmar was a perfect stand in for Daniel with our morning coffee routine. The evening duties were expertly split between Omar and Eduardo. The cocktails each night were delicious and hot water bottle was filled nightly with a smile. One of the extra perks of the Aqua Lounge is that we had pleasure of Stephany and Arturo and their expert “butler service”. They were able to help us get all of our dinner reservations sorted for the entire trip and helped my wife with her spa bookings. These seemingly little things are a tremendous weight off our minds while we are relaxing and fully enjoying our vacation. The one mainstay for each and every one of our trips has been Jose behind the grill. From his humble beginnings with his small grill tucked away behind Varenna to his now monster super grill out in the open, he is a Live Aqua legend. The lunch time chicken and ribs are worth the trip alone. The team in the pool hut led by Flavio always made sure we were happy with our pool surroundings each day. When a few members from a company retreat were a little too much for us, they understood and were happy to help us find a new pool spot for the remainder of our stay. As always, Edouard made each of our days at the pool feel like we were the only guests around, but if he wasn’t stopping by to check in on us, I always saw him making sure others were happy with their “pool home”. The man just does not know how to slow down. I really hope the top staff at Live Aqua know the absolute gem of an employee they have in Edouard. When it comes to staying hydrated by the pool, it was as if David and Louisa had a monitor on my Yeti and always knew when it was time for a refill. They also made sure our bucket of ice waters was never empty or sitting out in the sun. Seven of our eight mornings started with breakfast at Siete with Jose. Jose is another one of our special friends at Live Aqua, he is always making sure we start our day with exactly what we want for breakfast and full cups of the great coffee. I remember our first encounter with him 3 trips ago and was amazed with his attention to each of the guests he was serving. He is like a Terminator, scanning the scene, anticipating what someone might need. He is another employee that I hope the powers that be recognize is a Live Aqua star and a real reason why Live Aqua is a place we return to at least annually. Whenever we explain to people about why we continue to return to Live Aqua, it is always because of the amazing staff. When they say “it’s my pleasure” it rings as 100% true. I understand that this is their job, but I always appreciate that when I see two or more employees walking along together or crossing paths, they always smile and joke with each other. I know that I will not agree with all changes that Live Aqua makes. The only negative I can mention is I really do not like the new pool chair/bed situation on the non beach side of the long rectangular pool. Having the lounge chairs in front of the beds is a bit too much. It’s akin to having a beautiful home but you have your neighbor’s kids playing in your front yard each day. For the two days we were using these beds, the group (10-12) that was using the two chairs were continually putting their stuff on our bed. While I understand they want to accommodate as many people as possible, they are packing too many people in along the main pool.

We just got back from our destination wedding at Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun and I honestly don’t even know where to begin. This resort is absolutely incredible, but what truly makes it special is the people. The service here is on another level — every single person made us feel like family, and it’s easy to see why this resort is famous for its staff. Our wedding was beyond anything we could have imagined. Christy, our wedding planner, treated us like family from day one and genuinely cared about every detail of our experience. Her assistant Katia worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect, and together they gave us our dream wedding. Marco made our mornings every single day with his fresh made-to-order smoothies and infectious energy. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and his positivity set the tone for the entire trip. Monserrat was always there with a smile, ready to help with absolutely anything we needed throughout the trip. Jose, John, and David are hands down the best waiters around — attentive, friendly, fun, and they somehow always knew exactly what we needed before we even asked. And Miguel at Egos… wow. Best bartender ever. He somehow knows what drink you want before you do and makes every night unforgettable. The resort itself is stunning. Beautiful pools, gorgeous beach, amazing rooms, and an atmosphere that somehow feels both luxurious and welcoming at the same time. The food completely exceeded expectations too. The habanero soup at MB was one of the best things we’ve ever eaten, and the fried rice at Hidden Garden became an obsession for our group. Located conveniently on the hotel zone 30 min from the airport. The hotel was so clean and the staff couldn’t be any nicer they were very hospitable and professional. I would recommend this hotel
