Eclectic rhythms and a lively atmosphere embrace guests as they arrive to Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun. This relaxing yet contemporary Adults Only, All-Inclusive luxury, a part of the Lifestyle collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, seems to have achieved the impossible: an upscale all-inclusive resort with a Cancun address that's low-key enough to be considered a wellness retreat. Bright, spacious rooms in shades of white and cream contrast with the turquoise of seaside infinity pools. Service is top-notch here, and ambient music from a resident DJ lends itself to a Zen mindset.

After a couple of years always staying in the Secrets The Vine resort, we wanted to give Live Aqua a try this year. Live Aqua is generally more expensive than Secrets The Vine, so we were expecting something similar or even better. Unfortunately this was not the case, and we felt a little bit disappointed. Live Aqua compares more to a regular/cheaper all inclusive (Riu resorts for example) Food: Food is just ok, nothing to write home about. As I said, it compares to a cheaper all inclusive resort. Service: Very mixed experiences. Some of the servers and bartenders are GREAT and some other not quite. Check in experience was not very good; we were asking questions and the guy seemed annoyed and he said we could find all the info in their website. Again, not something you expect form a "luxury" all inclusive. Facilities: OK but a little bit dated. Pools: During our stay it was a constant they didn't have enough fresh towels in the pool. Seriously? 3 days with towel issues? Everyday we were told there was at least a 30 minute wait to get towels. The only thing I loved about their pools is some of them are heated which was great because of the unusual cold weather this past weekend. Having heated pools is rare for Cancun resorts so I give them that. In general we wont be coming back to Live Aqua, I expected so much more and I prefer to stick to resorts like Secrets The Vine.

We enjoyed a great stay with friends. The place is nice, clean comfortable, spacious and provides many amenities. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Room service was also great. There were many restaurants and no one goes hungry here. Restaurants MB and Azur were the best. But also the buffet restaurant was amazing especially for breakfast. Also liked immensely the fish restaurant where ceviche was perfect. Swimming pools and the beach were perfect. There were entertainment and activities. A few things to improve or for traveler to be ready. The place is expensive. The front desk pretended to upgrade our rooms but did not do a thing. Coffee place can get slow. And a couple restaurants take forever to serve. At the end I recommend this place, but would also shop around.

We had a great time. LiveAqua is amazing. The staff is very friendly and our butlers Isaias and Eladio were the best. Would definitely recommend staying here.
