Disappointing Milestone Birthday Stay — Aqua Club Was Not Worth the Upgrade I booked my Cancun vacation through Delta Vacations for September 11–18 and selected a double ocean-view Aqua Club room at Live Aqua. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to what was promised, particularly considering the additional amount we paid for Aqua Club service. Our room included assigned butlers, but our butler, Maggie, was neither available nor attentive to our needs. Our only consistent communication from her consisted of generic, seemingly automated daily text messages. We also observed that she appeared to be noticeably more attentive to nonminority guests. The greatest disappointment involved my milestone birthday on September 16. Upon arrival, we confirmed our request for birthday decorations and were assured that the room would be decorated on my birthday. We left early that morning for an all-day excursion, expecting to return to a decorated room. Instead, we came back to find that nothing had been done. When contacted, Maggie initially claimed there was no request for decorations. Later in the same conversation, she stated that decorations were available only at an additional cost. This should have been clearly communicated when we inquired upon arrival—not after my birthday had already been overlooked. There was no sincere apology or meaningful attempt to correct the situation. We were simply given chocolate-covered strawberries that appeared old and were the same item that had already been delivered to our room the previous day. Live Aqua completely dropped the ball on a milestone celebration that could not be recreated. The room itself also had serious maintenance issues. The shower had extremely low water pressure, and the air conditioning was not cooling properly. We reported both problems, but nothing was done about the shower, nor were we offered another room with adequate water pressure. The air conditioning did not begin cooling properly until approximately the third day of our stay. Despite these complaints, neither our butler nor other hotel staff expressed much concern or sympathy. On a positive note, the property is beautiful, and the employees working in the restaurants and pool area were extremely friendly. Unfortunately, those positives were overshadowed by the poor Aqua Club service, unresolved room issues, and the hotel’s failure to follow through on my milestone birthday request. I would rate our stay 4 out of 10. Based on our experience, the additional cost for Aqua Club was absolutely not worth it. I expected Delta Vacations and Live Aqua to provide a much better experience, especially for a milestone celebration.

We went for our 19th anniversary and was treated like royalty by Alan and Eladio in the Live Aqua VIP. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this Hotel.

Everything about this resort just screams comfort and luxury. The rooms are well maintained and clean, and the staff is quick to respond to any issues that may occur. El ambiente del hotel está bellísimo. The many pools were very nice, with some being warm. The pool bar was awesome! The noise levels in the room were non existent, as you could barely hear anything outside the door. I would highly recommend this hotel. The restaurant staff are very accommodating, especially Marco, who mans the smoothie station. He makes any style of smoothie with whatever you want. I can’t recommend stopping by at least once!

We had an amazing experience at the resort, and the staff truly made our stay special. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. A special shout-out to Mauricio from Azur, who provided exceptional service and always made us feel welcomed. I also want to recognize the gentleman working at the juice station at Siete. His service and attitude were outstanding, and he deserves recognition for the great experience he provided to guests. The woman bartender at the bar next to MB is also amazing at what she does. She recommended a whole bunch of special drinks and made a few for me on the spot. Not sure if I have this right, but I believe there were some hotel executives visiting on one of the days that kept jumping to the front of the line at the juice station. Guests should be the top priority, and resort leadership should be setting the example when it comes to respecting the guest experience. It would be great to see the same level of service and consideration from management that the frontline staff consistently provides. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and were especially impressed by the staff. Mauricio and the Siete juice station team member are great examples of the exceptional service that makes a resort experience memorable.

Johnathan at the pool is amazing!!! We were there 5 days and he just great!!!! I’d highly recommend him to everyone I know.
