Reviews for Live Aqua Cancun All Inclusive Adults Only
I stayed with my husband in July at Live Aqua and it was fantastic! The Hotel is beautiful and the staff is so nice so helpful and always happy! The food is excellent, and there are several activities during the day. One of the highlights are two beautiful parrots in the garden - you can feed them and they are just adorable! We also enjoyed so much at this Hotel that there are so many great activities during the day, so that you never feel bored! For example there are Beachvolleyball Games twice a day at the hotel's own Beach, there was a Tequila Testing and we never missed Aqua Yoga with Fernanda at the pool which we enjoyed so much!!! If you want to go shopping you just have to cross the Street in front of the Hotel and there is a great Shopping Mall! This Hotel is just the perfect Place to stay in CancĂșn! I hope we can come back soon - this Hotel is my favourite place!

Just returned from a 3 night holiday at Live Aqua with my longtime girl friend. My previous visits have been with my husband or as a family of 4 with our 2 adult children. Since we have not been there since a new group (I believe Fiesta America brand) acquired this location) purchased the property so I feel a more current review may help make some of my fellow TA researchers. In a nutshell, the quality of service, hospitality, and food has remained as excellent as I remembered it to be. Many of the same people are still employed there including an outstanding managerial staff in all departments who keep everything running like the well-oiled machine it has always been. There is nothing to hate and everything to love about his resort. Yes, the food is great Every employee is helpful, informed, and professional. I could go on and on but I recommend you believe the favorable reviews and forget the negative ones. My friend and I had a beautiful time! You cannot go wrong if you decide to stay here.

Take time to unwind in a great enviroment with people who actually care about your well being. Try not to eat toooo much of the great food in all the places to eat there. The bar is always open and the mixologists will make you whatever your heart desires , and do it well

THIS PLACE WAS BEAUTIFUL! From the food to the great friendly staff it was amazing! We stayed 5 nights and I actually got to know the staff by name, that's how friendly they were. The sushi bar was the best along with the guacamole from the 24hr room service. The rooms were clean and very nice and I loved the cabanas on the beach. The spa was also amazing. I got a serene massage on the beach which included the first part on the inside of the spa resort. I was so pleased with the resort and how great Cancun was that I'm already planning to take my hubby there later this year!
Warning: Long Review Ahead! When researching places for our week-long stay, I literally looked at hundreds of hotels and dozens of locations. We wanted all-inclusive and adults-only, which this is. We finally settled on Live Aqua and are so glad we did!! We stayed from July 6-13. Nearly every part of the trip was perfection. I will start from before we got there and work through the stay. Once we booked, we happened upon a Facebook fan page of the place that was EXTREMELY helpful in many ways. I would encourage everyone to look it up. It also introduced us to Valerie Van Rooij, who might be the best employee of any place in the world. More later. Before arrival, the hotel was extremely easy to contact, and got back to me in a timely fashion. Upon arrival, we were taken directly to check-in, which was quick and easy. Afterward, we were given a short explanation of the hotel, a very relaxing hand massage along with low-pressure pitch to sit through their vacation club breakfast. We politely declined their offer three times, which wasn't bad, and didn't hear about it again. We were there about noon, so proceeded to lunch, and our room was ready an hour early! We had a garden-view room to start. It is very nice, and all rooms have balconies and at least a partial ocean view. I smelled sewage the first day and night, and emailed Valerie about it (she had friended me on FB and sent me her email). The next day I met with the Aqua Club concierge, who offered me a free upgrade to ocean front. I turned down a "deal" to stay in a suite for an extra $600 (suites do come with Aqua club access, and a cabana every day, complete with 20 min foot massage). The ocean front would not be ready that night, but our last 5 nights were there. The view is absolutely stunning, as it is all over the resort. We were told 8th floor, but got 4th. However, The rooms themselves are the same. I wasn't crazy about the layout (shower and bathroom doors collide easily and can't be open at the same time), the shower leaked, and 2 towel holders fell off. But these were minor inconveniences. Each room has a great safe and mini-bar, which is well stocked with beer, soda, water, and snacks. Plenty of closet and dresser space for clothes. You are given a beach bag to use, and it's very nice. Every room has a diffuser and you can choose from a list of essential oils to burn. They smell amazing! The name of the game is relaxation and it oozes out of every pore of the resort. Other than that - Pretty typical hotel room. Two things in particular stand out about this resort. Let me start with the pools. There are something like 7 pools at different temperatures. The infinity pool is fairly refreshing, but has one of the most incredible views in the world. Crystal clear turquoise water, of varying shades. We probably spent 70% of our time here. It's also meant to be pretty low key and relaxing. There is also a long lap pool and several smaller ones. We also liked the swim-up bar pool, which is a little cooler (nice in the hot, humid July climate), and this is where the "action" in the resort is. It's usually pretty jumping, although this is not a party resort. If you're looking for night life craziness, which we weren't, look elsewhere. I wouldn't mind the swim up bar being open till maybe 7 though. Again, nit-picking. Towel huts are conveniently located, and you can get as many as you want. But if you want a spot under an umbrella at the pool, better get out there early! They fill up fast. The pools and resort are also set up well, no matter if you want to be secluded, or to meet and talk to people, which was also very easy. Secondly, the service here is second to none. The employees are kind, and willing to please. They are truly a jewel. Amazing service all over the resort. I'll give one example. I love steak, eggs and French fries for breakfast (I know, silly American). We tried asking for it via room service, even for later days in our stay, and were completely shut down. However, one email to Valerie, and it was handled the next morning at the buffet! Luis and Jesus - thank you so much, and please thank the chef for me!! Other employees I will highlight are Marysol, Pita, Manuel, and Eli. I wish I could remember all of them!!! The restaurants overall are good, not great, but just keep in mind it's all-inclusive, so we don't expect 5 star cuisine. For breakfast, it's either the Siete buffet or room service, which is 24-7. Both are excellent choices. Lunch is where this resort shines. So many options! There is poolside service (just ask for a menu, we had pizza, burgers, nachos, tacos, etc.). In La' Keesh (the only pay restaurant on the property, $70/person for steak and lobster) turns into a grill for lunch - ribs, chicken, paella, burgers, hot dogs, etc. And of course there is the buffet or room service. For the rest, I'll go by restaurant. There is Varenna, the Italian place, open for lunch and dinner. Very good. There is Azur, open for lunch and dinner, mediterranean food. The view is awesome but the menu was just so-so for us, and we only ate lunch there once. They also have Sea Corner, open for lunch as well. Mostly seafood, with amazing beachside views, but the food was merely ok, in our opinion. For dinner, other than the ones I've listed, the buffet is open on one side of Siete, and on the other it turns into a Mexican place. It's usually dead, and the food was mediocre. And there is MB - the four-course fine dining restaurant on the property. Dress code for men - collared shirts, close toed shoes, and pants. It was delightful and delicious. The habanero soup lives up to the hype and we heard marvelous things about the steak. The scallops there are not to be missed. Finally, there is our favorite - Hidden Garden. Open for dinner. It's Asian food. Ask for Luis. And then have him recommend his favorites. Definitely order the dumplings, and the rolls to start, as well as the Mango Fish and the drink of the day. There are bars everywhere. Azur bar for pools, swim-up bar, beach bar with swings, Aka bar outside buffet, and Egos bar (only one open until 1 AM). I would love it if Egos was open a little later (2-3?). The drinks were mostly fabulous. They don't bat an eye when you ask for top shelf liquor, and are happy to comply with double or even triple shots of alcohol if you want it stronger. There was a little variance in bartenders and how they made drinks, but these are just tiny little issues. Misc. - they also have a coffee place inside the gift shop. You can order whatever you want, included, or Starbucks for extra $$. My wife found they didn't know how to make very good coffee drinks, but maybe that was a fluke. Also don't miss the Sushi Station outside MB. Delicious. Live Aqua is always putting out great little touches. Flaming coffee outside Aka in the evenings, coffee cart around the pools in late afternoon, Crepes outside buffet, etc. Room service seemed to take a while no matter what we ordered (popcorn, M&M's, etc) but it was always served hot. Another good feature of the hotel is that they are right across the street from La Isla Mall. That's very convenient. And a bus stop is very close as well. Take it for a buck, anywhere you want! As I said, Live Aqua stands out because of the little touches. I told 3 people we were celebrating two birthdays and an anniversary and we got celebrations at MB, and in our room (rice art twice, and champagne twice!). Another one our last night as well, at Hidden Garden). Again, they aim to please. It's no wonder so many people come back here again and again and again. I don't know if it's Cancun as a destination, or Live Aqua in particular, but we couldn't get over the beauty of the water, or the softness of the sand. It was like walking on flour/baby powder, and then sponges/marshmallows closer to the water. Heaven. The waves can be rough, so it's not a snorkeling place. And they don't have water sports - they could easily add paddle boards, boogie boards, etc. But there are jet skis and parasailing right next to to the resort. There are also fun activities (no pressure) like corn hole, Jenga, and I played volleyball 3 times. One small issue we had was seaweed. Obviously the resort can't help this but it was pretty bad for most of our trip. I was under the impression that it was picked up or raked up daily by the staff, but this was not the case. Only saw it being tended to on the beach once - our last day. At other resorts, I noticed a dedicated photographer that would take pictures gratis, and then sell you different things, if you wanted. I didn't see this at Live Aqua. Maybe I missed it. But I think they could make a killing with this, both with selling high ticket items like frames and CD's of pics, as well as little trinkets like Scopes (google it), keychains and magnets, etc. Overall, we would be back in a heartbeat. We loved it. I would probably give it 4.8 or 4.9 stars out of 5, but I rounded up for this review, because it truly is a 5 star hotel. We do want to maybe try one other resort in Cancun, but the Live Aqua gave us an incredible week, and we are extremely grateful. Don't hesitate, don't think twice - book it!!!
