Luxury All-Adult Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

What an amazing all-adult, all-inclusive experience! Would we return? DEFINITELY! ...like so many of the returning guests we met... No wonder Live Aqua Cancun is ranked in the top three resorts in Cancun. Gratitude shout-outs to these staff members who made our experience extraordinary: butler Rudy, cabana Maria, housekeeper Ricarda, and bartender Eduardo. LOCATION Perfect for us! About 30 minutes from the airport; transport to Live Aqua can be $25-50 depending on service; across street from high-end mall stores called La Boutique Palacio, interactive aquarium, and huge Ferris wheel ATMOSPHERE Lobby area, suites, and rooms have a modern, streamlined look. A few reviewers felt the resort is stark or minimalistic. The exterior public areas flowed well with many choices for pool/beach seating and culinary-themed restaurants. DETAILS below… ROOMS Upgraded to the Aqua Suite, we thoroughly enjoyed the extra square footage, ocean view, large balcony area, butler service, a daily beach or pool cabana with daily foot massage, and Aqua Club view-food-drinks amenities. DETAILS below… VALUE Of the all-adult/inclusive resorts we have tried, this was indeed a bit more; however, the quality of the rooms, grounds, service, and food matched the expense. CLEANLINESS Rarely a piece of trash in the public areas. Maybe one small plastic bag all week! The public areas, restrooms, grounds, and restaurants are constantly monitored. Food is not allowed on the beach; this certainly helps to cut down on the beach debris. The room/suite was immaculate as well. SERVICE Professional personnel provided efficient and effective service in ALL resort areas; personable, approachable with direct, sincere eye contact; exceptional follow-up . DETAILS below… AMENITIES Room amenities – well stocked! Notable additions – room safe, clothes steamer, Nespresso machine/capsules, jacuzzi Property amenities – MANY pools/cabanas, restaurants/bars, food stands, activities; spa, salon, and gym. DETAILS below… RESTAURANTS Overview comments: (1) reservations – suite guests get priority; butler can make reservations to avoid waiting; most people put name on list, get buzzer, and hang at bar till notified (2) closures - most restaurants have one ‘closed’ night for maintenance but each seems to be different week days (3) upcharges – almost all restaurants have ‘special menu items’ with an upcharge…lobster, some meats; (4) service – efficient for food order and delivery; don’t tend to clear before next course ----------DETAILS---------- CHECK-IN Room check-in is in the main lobby right side. Never saw a waiting line. Aqua suite/room check-in is on the 5th floor in the Aqua Lounge. The Aqua Club check-in took some time; met butler to facilitate check-in BUTLERS Available with suites, work in pairs – one for daytime and one evening, communicates with guest via What’s App 7am – 10 pm. Roles: (1) completes check-in, (2) fulfills room requests for additional amenities, (3) makes restaurant, beach/pool cabana, and spa reservations (4) helps with special requests/activities. One butler met us each evening prior to dinner to check in “How was your day?” and “Do you need anything?” AQUA SUITE – LIVING AREA Two spacious rooms with a beautiful wooden pocket privacy divider, two sets of double sliders to large balcony (3 lounges, table/chairs), 2-65” flat screen TVs, side table, chairs, king bed, automatic drapes, Zen lights open/go on upon entry and close when out; multiple USB-A ports with European and American outlets; 3 large storage closets, multiple cabinets with ~16 storage drawers/cabinets, kitchenette with 3 bar stool/counter, sink, stocked fridge, Nespresso machine, queen size sleeper sofa and tables; ironing board, clothes steamer and safe AQUA SUITE – BATHROOM AREAS 1.5 bathroom with large round jacuzzi, double sinks, Molton Brown fragrant amenities, separate ‘cozy’ toilet and shower areas, rainfall and handheld shower heads, excellent water pressure and consistent/accessible water temperatures, lighted mirror stand, dimly lit bathroom, weak blow dryer, scale (don’t use; great food here), robes and slippers sized well for women RESTAURANTS ***Azur Restaurant – indoor/outdoor, à la carte breakfast, lunch and Mediterranean dinner by the beach; Faves – salads, ceviche, soups favorite roquefort with roasted grapes and dried fruit; overall good ***Sea Corner – outdoor, lunch only, on elevated ‘beach’ with tables in sand; Faves – tostados, ceviche, tacos; overall okay ***Varenna – outdoor, Italian, lunch and dinner; dinner up to four courses, DEFINITELY needs reservation; Faves – gorgonzola Caesar, lasagna, and bolognese; overall good ***Hidden Garden – vine-covered outdoor area, Asian style, dinner only, DEFINITELY needs reservation; Faves – satay, pad Thai, tikka marsala; overall excellent ***mb – indoor only, dinner only, continental, DEFINITELY needs reservation, A/C, Tuesday – Sunday wonderful piano player, only dress attire code restaurant, recommendation to sit on second tier or perimeter areas if conversation desired (sitting by piano can make conversation difficult); Faves – habanero bread bowl soup, beet root rolls; overall – our FAVORITE ***Siete – indoor only, breakfast buffet, Mexican dinner, occasionally becomes lunch if raining; breakfast has the most varied options ever seen with three made-to-order stations and a smoothie bar; dinner Faves – spicy pepper soup, sea bass, salad bar and sushi; note - in the morning, there seems to be ‘concierge’ staff to check in on you after breakfast; however, there is a sales pitch for the Fiesta resort line FOOD STATIONS - open areas These are around the resort, open at different lunch and/or dinner times, some open daily; stations include – paella by Varenna, BBQ between Varenna and Pool, tacos, nachos, burgers/hot dogs, sushi, crepes. ROOM SERVICE Nice variety of food selections on the menu! This was one of the quickest room service departments ever experienced. Their quoted delivery time was accurate or early. They must be checking the hallways often, because rarely did I see room service trays sit in the hall for much time. BARS (1) Egos at lobby level ; more guests ~10 pm and usually an evening activity like karaoke or DJ (2) Aka between mb and Siete restaurants; 5-10 pm guest area for pre and post dinner conversation; activities - trivia, singers, magic show, and minute to win it to name a few (3) Three pool and beach bars BEACH / POOL AREAS Abundance of chairs, towels, and staff; 98 cabanas about $90 per day unless Aqua Club suite; daily foot massage also included with Aqua Club suite; waves rough for this visit and there are varying water depths as entering and a sandbar not far from shore GYM Open 6am - 9pm; very clean, drinks and towels stocked as well as a fridge with cool towels, one of the cleanest and well-equipped resort gyms; LifeFitness and Technogym equipment and four Kinesis stations; steps, mats, ball, 1-8# bells rack and 10-50# bell rack, 7 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, and 2 stairmasters, and ~12 machines for all muscle groups

We had an amazing stay at Live Aqua! Every morning started perfectly with smoothies from Marco — the best smoothie man ever. He’s such a kind, funny person with a big heart, always welcoming everyone with his charm and a warm smile. 🫶 Thank you to the entire Aqua team for making our stay so special. And a huge thank you to Marco — you truly made our mornings unforgettable. You’re the best!

We absolutely loved Live Aqua. I don't know how you could find a better place in Cancun. The people and service were unbelievable, our room was perfect, the pools are really nice and never crowded, and the restaurants have great food. We will continue to go to this resort!

Romeo and Rudy truly made our stay unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail stood out. They anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and went above and beyond to ensure every part of our experience was seamless and relaxing. Whether it was arranging last-minute requests, offering thoughtful recommendations, or simply greeting us with genuine kindness each day, they made us feel completely taken care of. Their ability to balance professionalism with a personal touch is something you don’t come across often. Romeo and Rudy are absolute assets to the resort, and their dedication to exceptional service did not go unnoticed. We left feeling not just well cared for, but truly valued. We can’t wait to return—See you in November! Sheila & Scott

My wife and I just returned from an amazing stay at Live Aqua Cancun. We had a fantastic experience. Our room was beautiful, the food was delicious, and each and every staff member contributed to our having a great time. A few special shoutouts. Marco, making phenomenal smoothies, in the Siete restaurant. He introduced us to local fruits and made each drink with care and a smile. Thank you also to Nelci and Andrea for their delicious omlettes and tacos. Hector was a fantastic bartender as well. One meal we especially enjoyed was at Hidden Garden. Belen is a great hostess, Jose a knowledgeable waiter, and we really enjoyed meeting Chef Mario. His mahi mahi with mango chutney was superb. Another shoutout to the entertainment staff. Ricky and Pablo are hilarious and bring so much energy to all of the activities. We especially loved our dance Zumba class with Ricky and Jump Class with Pablo. Marco, Naomi, and Christopher Robin were also great with archery, aqua aerobics, and trivia. Thank you everyone for making our stay so enjoyable!
