This is my 10 trip to Cancun, I have visited several hotels in this city, some of them like Hilton, Hyatt Cancun Caribe, Regency or Le Meridien do not exist anymore , and after Reading reviews of live aqua.. I had many expectations... Hotel nice and in good conditions after all. Service and atention is very very good, people trying to make their best at all times. Its True, some parts of the hotel really smell bad... They had to change me.. My original room in first floor really smelled very bad. My new room was the 5047 nice room with good view and balcony. Spa nice and profesional, not cheap. Food and Drinks..... So so... Drinks and food are not 5 star hotel.. sorry... Maybe if you like to drink beer and eat hamburgers with french fries and guacamole with totopos.... its good good for you..... but not for me.. So, I do not know if next time I repeat Live aqua.....

Chose this resort after reading the reviews, particularly the ones about the food as this is an integral part of our holiday experience. Having stayed in Mexican resorts before I had very high hopes for this, but, wow, so disappointing. The food in virtually all the restaurants was at best mediocre and sometimes inedible due to being cold, under/over cooked or plain nasty. Had one reasonable meal in MB, but when we ordered lobster the next evening at a hefty supplement, it was cold, over cooked, dry and tasteless, breakfast was reasonable but bacon wasn't available unless asked for at the egg station. The only time I asked for it, by the time I got back to my table it was completely cold, not lukewarm, cold. Smoothies were good, but mostly utilised tinned fruit, defeating the object maybe? Alcohol??? Was there any present in cocktails and mixed drinks? Not really and after complaining to the duty manager, he didn't even get back to us. Waiting staff at the pool weren't really interested unless they got a tip with every order, often they "forgot" our order, once we waited for 50 mins for a pizza, despite watching others get their order within 15 minutes. Room was a little dated and tatty, bed comfortable, bathroom well appointed. The TV cacophony that leeched through what was an optional interconnecting door was unreal, like having a real live mariachi band in your room at 1am!! Our first room was directly above the air conditioning outlets and the roar was unbelievable, had to be moved straight away, couldn't really understand who would put up with that noise 24hr a day? We traded that for a sea view but with a compulsory mariachi band?!?! Staff mainly helpful and friendly, one lad put himself out to find my travel pillow for me on the day we checked out. Waiting staff ranged from "you didn't tip last time so you don't exist" to completely manic, booming out "excellente!" At every order, almost weeping that I had chosen the flank steak. Wouldn't come again, at ÂŁ400 a night, very poor value. Next time B&B for us and choose from the many excellent restaurants in the area for dinner.

I stayed during a long weekend. I received (without asking for) an upgrade to a suite with balcony and access to the Aqua Club (for the same price). The view from the room is insanely beautiful! The staff there is amazing: Mayra and a guy which is expert in spirits. Service is good but could be faster the pool and beach. All the staff are very kind and servicial. The food is great. Unfortunately I didn’t stay enough time to visit all the restaurants. The location is great! Please keep improving and putting Mexican brand hotels high!

Can't believe I didn't review this after our stay! We went in March of 2017 for a girlfriend's trip to escape the Midwest winter! Check-in was a little lengthy, but easy and they offer you some tea or water while you wait. We had a garden view room right on the bottom floor in the corner. We could walk right out on to our balcony and on to the resort grounds which was cool - but it was covered by trees so we didn't do a whole lot out there. Room was great! Netflix capabilities on the TV which was awesome for those lazy nights/mornings you wanted to relax in the AC. Bathrooms were spacious and gorgeous, bed was large and comfy. Room Service took a little bit, but nothing crazy. Food was great and so were the drinks! Staff was super friendly, at one point our ceiling was leaking (I think from the AC) they had someone come and fix it within the hour. Spa was relaxing, we each did a massage and reasonably priced and you get access to the spa amenities for the day! There was an unpleasant odor in one small part of the resort walking to the room, but most of the time they had the incense to do their best to cover it up. Nothing life-ruining - you just might hold your breath walking through! We spent most of our time lounging on the beach or by the infinity pool! The swim up bar pool is smaller and usually had more drunk people at it, the infinity pool was nice and cool and a beautiful view. The bars all made good drinks, and poolside staff was attentive. Restaurants were all delicious! So many options at the buffet too which was great. Not a lot happening nightlife wise if you're looking for a party (we went downtown one night and that was more than enough for us) but you can have drinks and enjoy the cool breeze. Housekeeping was always nice, they always refilled your snacks and would give you extra if you asked :) This is more of a relaxing resort than a party resort, but it was perfect for us! I would definitely return but would probably pay extra for the ocean view!

Cons: •Alcoholic beverages were beyond weak, it got so bad we just drank beer... •A guest smoked marijuana every morning •Housekeeping was mediocre •Poop in the pool •The cost of massages are outrageous •Tell them you are celebrating something because they didn’t do any nice rice designs, we just had a plain no frills room (housekeeping staff told us it was not a VIP room), despite booking with Costco. Pros: •Smells nice everywhere inside •Great staff •Timeshare sales pitch wasn’t too pushy or rude (like it was the first time) •Breakfast smoothie guy was always in a great mood and very nice and made excellent drinks •Secret garden served excellent food and great staff Would not recommend returning for a second visit.
