Reviews for Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun

Beautiful Resort, Exceptional Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

The Live Aqua resort in Cancun is absolutely beautiful. The pool and beach area are clean and have spectacular views. The rooms are quite nice and very clean and the food is very good. What set the resort apart for us was the service. We paid a bit extra for the Aqua Club and found our butler team of Maggie and Carlos to be amazing. They were quick to meet every need and even made suggestions (like room service breakfast on our departure day) that made our stay extra special. The daily activities are fun - we participated in crafts (Alex was a standout with his friendly demeanor and fascinating info about wildlife on the resort), beach volleyball, yoga with Daniel (who teaches a great class) and karaoke night at Ego nightclub. The food was very good, we especially enjoyed Varenna for lunch and dinner, Hidden Garden for dinner and the street tacos near the pool over lunchtime are a “don’t miss.” Overall it was a relaxing and fun vacation with a level of hospitality that makes us look forward to visiting again.

Good all inclusive

We had a great stay at live Aqua. The resort is very clean and the staff is wonderful. The food can be hit or miss like any all inclusive but I really liked that there were no reservations for the restaurants so you could just enjoy your day and not have to plan around a reservation. Marco’s smoothies are incredible and his energy made our day everyday! We had an issue with our toilet that we had to call on a few times, but they responded quickly and eventually we got the issue fixed. The only problem we had was getting a chair by the pool. On Saturday all the chairs were “taken” by 9am. There are signs saying you can reserve chairs for more than 30mins but it’s definitely happening. Luckily, we got a cabana on the beach and Cesar was an awesome server. Overall well done all inclusive

Quick girls trip

Live Aqua was my first all inclusive. The breakfast buffet was definitely the star of the show. Marco was the best part of our morning, every morning, and made the most wonderful smoothies ever. Marco is a treasure! Food everywhere else was hit or miss, no reservations which was nice. We had some plumbing problems and had to call a few times over the course of 2 days, eventually it got resolved. The only downside was finding a pool chair. They claim you can’t save chairs but one day by 8:30 all chair had towels on them, forcing us to pay for a cabana. It doesn’t feel busy here so I can only imagine the hard time people might have in the busy time of the year. Cesar was an amazing waiter for us several days! He is kind, quick, and always seemed to have time for us.

Marco’: smoothies were delicious and his amazing energy and humor set us up for great day every day! We rented a cabana by the beach 2 days and Cesar took amazing care of us both days. He was quick with his drink service and kept us entertained throughout the day. Overall great stay!

Excellent accommodations

We ended up booking at Live Aqua literally at the last minute due to flight cancellations elsewhere in the Caribbean - we booked entirely based on a handful of pictures, price, all-inclusive, and all-adults. I don’t think we could have asked for a much better outcome. The property is beautiful, and there is decent space between this resort and the two adjacent ones so that we didn’t feel like everyone was on top of one another. The rooms were nice; it says a lot that the hotel uses Molton & Brown products and has high-end fixtures. Overall, it’s very classy. The beach and property are extremely clean. The location is about as convenient as you can imagine, to attractions throughout QR and to downtown Cancun. The food overall was good. We hadn’t realized that a primary concept of the hotel was food. The Asian restaurant, in particular, was very good. My only complaints, and they’re ridiculously minor: it was impossible to find ice cream, and they needed more chairs at the beach. It also would have been nice to have a reservation system for dinner dining. For instance, we tried repeatedly to go to the Italian restaurant, and it somehow never had space. Finally, there are two - I think unrelated - skidoo companies just next to the resort. Unfortunately, I almost got hit repeatedly by reckless and/or inexperienced riders who cut very close to the shore, and didn’t look for swimmers. If you’re a big ocean-swimmer, be very cautious
