Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun

I had originally booked an oceanfront room, but, upon arrival, I discovered that a large tree partially obstructed the ocean view from the room. During check-in, staff informed me that several room upgrades were available and strongly encouraged me to consider one. However, after seeing the obstructed view and returning to request a different room, the staff appeared unsure how to address my concerns, and my request was ultimately denied. Additionally, the room did not appear to have been properly reset prior to my arrival, as there was leftover trash from a previous guest and an opened Diet Coke can still inside the mini refrigerator. The iron in the room was also nonfunctional, and after contacting the front desk to request a replacement, it took approximately 45 minutes for the item to be delivered. During my stay, I also used the fitness center. Unfortunately, the lighting in the gym felt extremely bright and clinical, comparable to an operating room, which distracted from the relaxing resort atmosphere I had expected. Furthermore, there appeared to be inconsistency among staff regarding gym policies. While working out, one staff member who was wearing purple scrubs rudely instructed me to turn off my personal music, despite other staff members previously indicating it was not an issue. While the food and drinks were enjoyable, the overall experience did not meet what I would consider five-star resort standards.

The location of the hotel is near shopping and other local activities. The staff at the dinning areas are excellent!!!! We ate breakfast many times at the restaurant Azur. Fresh fruits, yogurt and coffee were my favorite but my husband likes a simpler breakfast 3 eggs over medium, hash browns, bacon and toast bread. The food was amazing they offer great selection for lunch and dinner also. The staff -servers named Jesus, Ariel, Victor, & Mauricio at the Azur provided exceptional service, are welcoming and friendly. They made our experience extremely pleasant for many meals. Thank you to the staff at the Azur restaurant! We also enjoyed the spa & a couples message. The Spa set up is amazing they offer dry sauna, a vapor sauna, cool water jacuzzi and warm water jacuzzi before our message. Perfect to relax and enjoy the message.

My wife and I both became seriously ill with food poisoning after eating at the cevicheria restaurant during our stay at Live Aqua Cancun. Symptoms included stomach pain, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea, which unfortunately ruined the remainder of our anniversary trip. We’ve stayed at several Fiesta Americana properties before, and the cevicheria has always been a favorite, which makes this experience even more disappointing. We documented everything we ate and shared it with hotel management. While the staff was courteous and did try to help by offering basic room service while we were sick, we felt management was dismissive and unwilling to take accountability. We were also directed to purchase medication from the hotel gift shop at a very high cost, which did little to help. Aside from this experience, the property itself was clean and well maintained. However, due to the severity of the illness and the handling of the situation, we would not return or recommend this resort.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Live Acqua, Cancun. The resort is stunning, the staff are kind, efficient and hospitable, and the food an beverage was amazing. I am checking availability daily to see when I can return. Great job to the team at Live Acqua.
