Eclectic rhythms and a lively atmosphere embrace guests as they arrive to Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun. This relaxing yet contemporary Adults Only, All-Inclusive luxury, a part of the Lifestyle collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, seems to have achieved the impossible: an upscale all-inclusive resort with a Cancun address that's low-key enough to be considered a wellness retreat. Bright, spacious rooms in shades of white and cream contrast with the turquoise of seaside infinity pools. Service is top-notch here, and ambient music from a resident DJ lends itself to a Zen mindset.

We recently (March 2026) stayed at Live Aqua as part of a 2-leg resort trip. We had an outstanding time to end our trip. We wanted to try Live Aqua because it’s a well known Cancún establishment and I felt “warmth” from reviewers. Our butlers Isaias and Viri were amazing from beginning to end, with restaurant reservations, spa reservations and every little information needed to make our stay perfect. We moved around different parts of the resort and Isaias always found us to check on us. This resort is also exceptionally clean. Food is delicious, restaurants and room service. Even the pool side grill was mind blowing. The grilled chicken poolside is a must. There was some sargassum during the few days but Live Aqua cleans up well unlike some of the neighboring resorts. Sargassum drastically varies week to week all around the Caribbean and it has become a year-round problem vs seasonal. The beach was completely clear some of the days. There was even clever use of sargassum by making a giant St Patrick’s Day art on the sand. Every guest seems to be happy and friendly (note the “warmth” part of reviews). I found staff to be well trained and consistent in everything they do. Massage therapists here can take all my money. My body felt brand new after our couples message. Normally we are beach people but there was good energy around the pool that we spent more time by the pools. Not too loud, not too quiet, just right. Plus there are 7 pools? Just find the right one for the mood you are in. Zero struggles with chairs. The towel game didn’t exist during the days we stayed. We rarely go to the same place twice but we will be back to this one.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun! From the moment we arrived, the accommodations were stunning—beautiful, clean, and so comfortable. The service was top-notch across the board, and the food was outstanding with so many delicious options. A special thank you to our butler, Ernesto Carlos, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and memorable. His attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference. Highly recommend—5 stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Here is my review for my trip! It’s long but I’m trying to think of everything I was anxious/curious about. My wife and I are used to staying at Sandals Resorts. So we didn’t believe Live Aqua could be as nice as them. We. Were. Wrong. When we arrived we had the nicest porter that handled our luggage and made us feel at ease after a long day of travel. We thought the attentive and amazing staff was one off. We were wrong. Every single staff member there is phenomenal. We went inside and began our checkin. We did not have aqua club so it was a basic checkin. However, it was perfection. We received a delicious drink and hand massages. There was a guy trying to get us to do a timeshare presentation (which I completely dreaded because of comments made about it in the past) when we declined he asked why we wouldn’t give him a chance. We said we wanted to start our vacation. And that was that. The only downside to checkin is that the area needs a fresh coat of paint. It was looking rather dated. But the rest of the resort was pristine. Now for the stay: The pools: Wow. They are great. You can pick a new one everyday and they’re all really great. Chairs: we rented a cabana twice and really enjoyed the foot massage. We are not early risers so when we didn’t rent a cabana we would go to the towel hut and they would find us a phenomenal spot by moving loungers for us. The drink service at the pool was okay. We tipped every time but they’re so busy it’s hard getting to know them or them getting to know your drink preferences. Special shout out to the ‘swing bar’ by the beach. I don’t know the actual name of the bar but it had swings. Those bartenders, especially Artemio, saved my trip. I really didn’t understand how to order until I met Artemio. He was very personable, funny, helpful and kind. Entertainment: I really don’t understand why people say this place lacks entertainment. There was stuff going on at all times. My wife made me make a bracelet at one point (I hate crafting) but the entertainment staff (Maria) made it fun and was so nice. I tried out archery, Pablo was a great teacher. We even did a facial class with Pablo and he had everyone laughing so hard. He was so funny. Water aerobics was great, pool bingo was wonderful. We usually were back in our room by 9 so I can’t really speak to the night entertainment but throughout the day everything was perfect for us. Food: MB is everything they say it is. The habanero soup is scrumptious. And I don’t even like soup. We did not enjoy hidden garden but we also don’t like Thai food so that wasn’t a big surprise. Azur is a hidden gem. Marcelo was our dinner server and was exceptional. He made our anniversary feel special. Verenna was really good too. We didn’t have it for dinner, just lunch, but it was so good. We liked the omelette stations at the breakfast buffet, but not really fans of the buffet itself. Azur had the BEST breakfast. Don’t miss out on that. The hamburger/hot dog station was delicious. As was the grill. Marco’s smoothies are even better than they say!! Go see him! Room service food wasn’t very good. We heard a lot of good things about room service but we don’t like it when we ordered. Also, we never waited to be seated at any restaurant. At all. We did not have a butler but we showed up and waited in line at 5:55 and got right in. To every restaurant. Including MB. The beach was full of sargassum so we only went in a couple of times. The pools at Live Aqua are really exceptional so we didn’t feel as though we missed out. We did end up renting the wave runners by the beach and it was totally worth it! Can’t even begin to describe how much fun that was. Cleanliness is obviously a top priority here. Everything is kept so pristine. Housekeeping and turn down service was excellent. Spa: we did a couples massage with the hydro circuit and it was the best massages we’ve ever received. I got a deep tissue massage from Stacy and it hurt so good 😂 Cons: you have to leave. You cannot live there no matter how much you beg your wife.
