Reviews for Live Aqua Cancun All Inclusive Adults Only
We had such an amazing time at Live Aqua. From the beautiful rooms and hotel, to the amazing food, drinks and friendly staff- we will be back for sure! A few shout outs to bartenders ELI and CRESCENCIO, other staff that were super helpful: MOSES and CARLA. Everyone was so super friendly!!!!
Let me preface this review by saying that I travel alone often. It is really important that I never feel bad for being alone. I have very specific look fors in a resort, one being that the resort is social enough where guests are friendly, and staff makes you feel welcome as a "party of 1." Live Aqua fit the bill in both of these areas. The staff is exceptional from servers to bell hops. They are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They make an effort to know your name and always check in to make sure you are content. I also appreciated that whenever I went to one of the restaurants or the bars, no one asked why I was alone - they only needed to know to determine how many waters to bring to the table, lol. A special shoutout goes to Aile, my poolside server. She was my server two days in a row, and always made sure I had a cold drink next to me and a fresh bucket of cold waters. She took time to know me, and it was nice to chat with her during those two days. I also liked how this resort sets up servers so that you have the same one all day. I had a similar experience on the beach. I never caught the server's name, but he never let me run out of drinks and was happy to order them with my specifications. The facilities are pristine. Not a speck of dirt or dust - no smudges - even the sand was kept on the beach and not in the hotel. Restrooms were always being maintained, and someone was always sweeping. The essential oils diffused throughout the property are very calming, as is the lush greenery and soothing music. For my room, I was upgraded to an oceanview room as an Expedia VIP member, so that was a nice touch. The room was very comfortable, with two queen beds (linens are soft and plush!) a mini bar, balcony, and a bathroom with a separate shower and tub. The room was the perfect size for me - I don't spend much time in the room - but if you are more than one person, and looking for something a bit more spacious to hang out, you might want to upgrade to a suite. The food was very good. The buffet had everything, so it was a good choice for all meals. I did get to Hidden Garden, Azur and MB for dinners. All were very delicious and offered great service. I also enjoyed the poolside bbq for lunch each day - the chicken is delish! The coffee shop was very good. I did spring for the starbucks only because the cups of the included coffee were just so small and I didn't feel like holding four small coffees, lol. All the drinks were consistent. Some people have written reviews that drinks were watered down. I disagree. While they don't initially taste very strong, you can taste the alcohol, and a few drinks were enough to help me take a few good naps each day, =). The guests are very friendly and it was easy to chat with people. Most were couples or groups, and ranged from late 20s and up. I didn't do much after dinner as my days spent the sun are more than enough to make me happy. But there was a good crowd at the bar outside of MB from what I saw. The gym was fine. Nothing extraordinary - but enough to get the job done. Mostly treadmills and some ellipticals for cardio. Then there's a space with cables and yoga blocks. The back there are free weights - but only up to 55 lbs i think - and lifefitness weight machines for each body part. There's not much space to do HIIT, but I was able to set up a little spot to jump rope and do some plyo work. The best part is the gym is across from the coffee shop, so my mornings were perfect. The spa is amazing. Usually hotel spas are a hit or miss, this was a hit. The staff was very professional and the facilities included a steam room and jacuzzi. I got the fusion massage from Barbara - super strong hands! I also was able to take a shower in the spa after my check out since I had a late flight home. The beach and pool had a lot of seating. The pool was a little tricky from a solo traveler, since many of the chairs and beds that face the ocean are in clusters, but I was able to find a corner by the restroom which was perfectly comfortable. The beach seating is all linear, and well spaced out, so those spots were easy to find. I could go on and on. Live Aqua was a great experience and I will definitely return. If you have questions, please ask!

We returned in 2018, back to back years, as we had such an amazing time at Live Aqua in 2017! In 2017 we came with a group of 6, this year, we brought a group of 12 because everyone wanted to experience the Live Aqua that we did the year before....and let me tell you, they matched or exceeded their expectations. Where to start? First the personnel and employees at Live Aqua really make it worth the trip - the conversations and camaraderie we had with our servers and bartenders was absolutely top notch. However, the best bartender at Live Aqua has to be Eli...followed by the new comer Cristencio - those two really know how to get it done while entertaining you at the same time. Pool waiters Oscar, Alberto and Noe were great and speedy to keeps your rink cups filled. Second....of course is the food. Oh my goodness! Live Aqua is home to some of the best chefs and restaurants, they present some of the best dishes I've ever tasted. Donni was able to connect with the house chefs and provided our group with accommodations so we could all eat lunches and dinners together. PS...the Habanero Soup from MB and ceviche from Azur take the top spots for me! Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort to any and all...trust me, it won't disappoint!
We had a hard time leaving when it was time to go. This place is awesome! We had three couples in the group, and we all had a blast. The staff was so responsive to everything, you couldn’t go five feet without bumping into a staffer who was ready to help. Ale in the pool area kept our drinks and food topped off constantly (try the Grey Goose & Squirt). The swim-up bar and two of the restaurants were being renovated, but you wouldn’t have even noticed. They had additional pop-up bars and grills around the pool to help with the load. There was a small wait for some of the restaurants at dinner, but nothing that wouldn’t be expected at other typical restaurants. Both mb and the Hidden Garden had awesome food, and again, just superb staffers. Juan at mb was there for whatever we needed, and even made a flaming after-dinner drink for us (and don’t miss the habanero soup and the amaretto dessert, Oh Boy!). Hidden Garden had some of the best Asian cuisine we had ever eaten at an All-Inclusive. Cesar brought enough dumplings for an army and took great care of us! The Siete Buffet is great for breakfast, but I would avoid for dinner if possible. And get the poolside lunch, don’t waste your time sitting inside with all that sun by the pool! They will bring you basically anything being served for lunch in any of the restaurants. The pools were great, and had lots of chairs, just needed to get down there a little early to reserve. Jorge even grabbed my cracked sunglasses and super-glued them with me even asking! The ocean had big waves the entire time we were there, but couldn’t have been more beautiful water. The rooms were in great condition and they did some cool stuff for our 40th birthdays! And don't forget the massage, well worth the money! We can’t wait to go back! A couple tips, bring about $15-20/day in $1’s, never hurts to get a little extra service. And ask for what you want, if you want a triple shot of rum in your Riviera Maya, they will do it (one guy asked for a 20 oz vodka and they gave it to him!) Some of the beds by the pool are reserved, others are first come, first serve, so get there early if you want a spot, best spot is by Aura bar at the steps of the pool!
This is our second visit and we had a wonderful time. The staff is super-everyone is happy, helpful and professional. Under the direction of Valerie, the PR Manager, the staff works wonders and Valerie herself is a warm and caring person. She is just the best and we love her! It was nice to see employees from last year-especially Ale. She is a server by the pool and beach area. She is such a delight and always had a nice, warm hug for us every time we saw her. Ale, you rule! While not bad last year, I did notice improvements in two areas: one, the house wine selection. This year it is Robert Mondavi and it is a much better quality over last year's house wine. Again, last year's wasn't bad but the Mondavi is noticeably better. Second: the food presentation. There was much more attention to detail and every plate was perfectly arranged for a fantastic presentation. Good job to Mr. Cesar, the head chef of the resort! And speaking of meals, we opted for the Mexican a la carte at Siete one night and chef Francisco made us a special meal with every course a delightful surprise. It was fantastic. Chef Francisco, you truly rock! It was nice to see the same quality toiletries and amenities, which made for a comfortable room experience. Housekeeping staff was wonderful. As the "towel game" is still in full force, and as we were there over President's Day weekend, the resort was almost full and getting a lounge chair by the pool took a lot of effort, so we just went to the beach. That is my advice-skip the "towel game" by the pool and go right to the beach and you won't have to stress about getting a chair or a bed (the beds are free on the beach). The beach is much more relaxing and we were there every day. The only disadvantages to the beach is that you have to walk a bit to the bathrooms and pool, and you can't order food on the beach. In addition, as we were "older" and wanted a relaxing, laid back vibe, I probably would not go there over the holiday weekend again as there was a more young crowd who obviously wanted to party, which made the pool area a bit loud and boisterouis. And as the swim up bar was closed, they put a makeshift bar right at the pool area to appease the folks who like to drink all day at the swim up bar, so that I am sure contributed to the party. Don't get me wrong-I'm not a snob and it was no problem, but it just wasn't where we wanted to be so we just made a beeline to the beach. All in all, another great experience at Live Aqua. We can't wait to make it number three next year!
