Reviews for Live Aqua Cancun All Inclusive Adults Only
Can't believe I didn't review this after our stay! We went in March of 2017 for a girlfriend's trip to escape the Midwest winter! Check-in was a little lengthy, but easy and they offer you some tea or water while you wait. We had a garden view room right on the bottom floor in the corner. We could walk right out on to our balcony and on to the resort grounds which was cool - but it was covered by trees so we didn't do a whole lot out there. Room was great! Netflix capabilities on the TV which was awesome for those lazy nights/mornings you wanted to relax in the AC. Bathrooms were spacious and gorgeous, bed was large and comfy. Room Service took a little bit, but nothing crazy. Food was great and so were the drinks! Staff was super friendly, at one point our ceiling was leaking (I think from the AC) they had someone come and fix it within the hour. Spa was relaxing, we each did a massage and reasonably priced and you get access to the spa amenities for the day! There was an unpleasant odor in one small part of the resort walking to the room, but most of the time they had the incense to do their best to cover it up. Nothing life-ruining - you just might hold your breath walking through! We spent most of our time lounging on the beach or by the infinity pool! The swim up bar pool is smaller and usually had more drunk people at it, the infinity pool was nice and cool and a beautiful view. The bars all made good drinks, and poolside staff was attentive. Restaurants were all delicious! So many options at the buffet too which was great. Not a lot happening nightlife wise if you're looking for a party (we went downtown one night and that was more than enough for us) but you can have drinks and enjoy the cool breeze. Housekeeping was always nice, they always refilled your snacks and would give you extra if you asked :) This is more of a relaxing resort than a party resort, but it was perfect for us! I would definitely return but would probably pay extra for the ocean view!

Cons: •Alcoholic beverages were beyond weak, it got so bad we just drank beer... •A guest smoked marijuana every morning •Housekeeping was mediocre •Poop in the pool •The cost of massages are outrageous •Tell them you are celebrating something because they didn’t do any nice rice designs, we just had a plain no frills room (housekeeping staff told us it was not a VIP room), despite booking with Costco. Pros: •Smells nice everywhere inside •Great staff •Timeshare sales pitch wasn’t too pushy or rude (like it was the first time) •Breakfast smoothie guy was always in a great mood and very nice and made excellent drinks •Secret garden served excellent food and great staff Would not recommend returning for a second visit.
Interesting that this place is apparently rated very well and competes with the Secrets property we also stayed at down the street during our trip. We travel to Cancun & Playa regularly and would not recommend this place. The staff are not what we previously enjoyed at the likes of Excellence, Royal or Secrets. Bartenders in the main lounge in the evening are not what one would expect, and one in particular was stunningly rude!! The reception and concierge staff like to offer an pre programmed response and not what competitors have developed to be proactive customer focused. The public bathrooms regularly ran out of towels no matter the area. Very disappointing experience. Sadly the new way to helping such resorts address are these ratings versus management easily spotting these trouble spots.

Me and my wife have been going to Cancun for the past for 17 years twice a year and have been to many of the resorts in the area and in April of 2016 we found Live Aqua, we have visited the resort twice now and 3 more visits in 2018. Live Aqua staff will do everything and anything to accommodate you to make your stay unbelievable. When we were there a few weeks ago we wanted to watch a football game at one of the bars, so Valerie Van Rooij from the resort asked us if we wanted pizza's for the game👍🏻it was a great night except for the GB Packers loss. Next, at any of the restaurants if there is something that is not on the menu just and they will do there best to get what you want Hidden garden, Azul, and Italian restaurants are all awsome, look for Aaron Alu Abraham at Azul restaurant or buffet in the morning he is the best server, i wish he was back serving on the pool deck and beach you never sit empty handed while enjoying the sun. Look for Jonathan Chaire at the buffet he will treat you rite. If you need anything at the pool or beach look for Ashley Salvador Garcia you will find him at the towel hut he will do anything to make you feel at home. Its a very clean resort food and drinks are great. They don't have a ton of entertainment but when they do usually 2 times a week, it is great live music that is worth checking out. Great place for rest and relaxation.
Great few days at the Live Aqua! Whole place smells wonderful as they have essential oil burners everywhere, including the rooms! Great service and food. Was especially thrilled with the cabana rental...$60 bucks but comes with an AMAZING 20 minute foot-rub! Talk about decadent! This resort is good for relaxing, bad if you want lots of games and activities. Also not a ton of entertainment in the evenings which I have enjoyed at other resorts. Overall great experience. Best meal at Mb restaurant!
