A true Five Star resort in Cancun. Out of all the Melia resorts I've stayed, it's another great establishment of Melia. I will try to cover all the aspects in a step by step manner. Airport and Transfer: Cancun airport could be Chaotic and be ready to pay USD90 tax if you have more than allowances. And yes, there is a duty free store upon arrival before customs. Transfer to the hotel was fast and pleasant. BD Travel is the one who usually takes care of it and it's a quick 20-30min ride. Checking in: Upon exiting vehicle, concierge took over our baggage and arrived us to deliver it to our room. Upon entering reception, we were greeted by a lady who offered us Beverages and fresh towel. Which was a great thing to have. Darisnel made checking in smooth and fast. A very polite and friendly man. He even assured our room change for next day as requested. Another great person is Norma, answered all our questions with a very big smile. Room: Nice spacious room with ocean view balcony. Great views of ocean and pool. It is amazing till sun comes up all the way and gives you a brain melting sensation :) I would definitely take ocean view room if I go in Winter. Balcony has 2 lounge/pool style chair that can turn into a bed. Very comfortable. Fridge stocked with snacks, soft drinks & beers. Nice big flat screen tv and various channels. Very spacious washroom with sliding door lockable toilet. Nice big closet with safety deposit box. Food: Naos - Biggest restaurant and buffet. Despite people's nagging comments, I would say 5 out of 5. Wide selections of food an desert. They have indoor seating as well outdoor pool side. You could never go wrong with this restaurant. Great and polite waiter and hostess. My favorite waiter was Martin. A very hard working little man with a pace of a marathon runner. He took care of us every time we went there. Martin should be the employee of the Year. Mole - More of a Dinner & Date restaurant. Great atmosphere and great food. Decent selection of wine and imported beer. Market Grill - Meat lovers den :) wide varieties of meat to try from. Waiter would show up with meat at your table and you take as per your desire. They do have grilled vegetables as well. Very good food. Reservation required. It is at the back of Naos restaurant. Enso - Now this a restaurant of you want to take your partner for a date in a quiet restaurant by ocean. Nicely tucked away from the main building and at the end of the pool. Very nice and quiet place with nice music. Very good selection of food including Asian. Outstanding service by the waiter. You do need a day before booking to reserve your table. Blue Agave - One of my favorite restaurant for traditional Mexican food and drinks. Loved their Tacos and great team of workers but UNFORTUNATELY could never finish the food due to extreme heat inside. At the time of my visit, I believe only 3 out of 7 air conditioner was working. PARADISUS management, please fix or replace your air conditioning units!!! You don't need a reservation for this restaurant. Entertainment: This resort is fully stuffed with entertainment and fun. Lots of pool side day activities, jet sports and fun. Nightly entertainment and a small club. Tours and Activities: Chichen Itza, Snorkeling, Isla Mujeres, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum..... Book your tours from Visitor Center across the Plaza Isla. 30%-50% off compared to BD travel or any other travel agency operates out of the hotel. To get to Plaza Isla, take local bus from the entrance of the Resort for 10.50Pesos (1USD) and bus driver will drop you off right in front of the Visitors Center. Yes it is very safe to take the bus and no there are no Mexican cartel in that area :). Club Membership: Not everyone's cup of tea but beneficial for big families. Lot of people likes it but not my cup of tea. I was offered by Carlos (a very nice man) to take the tour and it was with Gina who was okay. It's an experience and I would've probably purchased it if the Sales manager/Club Membership manger wasn't very persistent on Vegas Style speech and spills. Overall..... it's a great resort with great food and entertainment. Spotless clean. There is something happening for everyone to cater individuals needs. Didn't really ventured night life but was informed it's closed by. Will definitely recommend this resort and will definitely visit again.

Omg, where do I even begin? This trip was much needed..... Last year my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with brain mets. Our family never dreamed that we'd ever get to spend this special time together. But we were blessed. Paradisus Cancun was perfect!!! 💗☀️🌴 From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. We checked into the Royal guest lounge where we were greeted by Roberto and a drink!🍸🍷🍺Roberto was polite, kind and friendly. He answered questions we had, explained the "perks" that were available to us as royal guests(18+) and took us on a tour around the beautiful grounds. The entire resort was pristine! Roberto was very knowledgeable and had a smile on his face the whole time. Our last night there, Roberto decorated our room with rose petals and left goodbye notes on our beds. It was very touching, and even made me cry. Thank you Roberto, you'll make a wonderful Butler! 😊 Our Butler was Rode. Rode was extremely pleasant and did his job well. Rode showed us to our room. He made sure our room was what we wanted and checked on us frequently. He gave us his cell phone # to text him at ANYTIME we needed anything, had any questions or concerns, even on his day off! Rode even took care of all of our dinner reservations too. Our daughter is a Spanish minor in college and Rode conversed with her whenever he was around which I found pretty cool 😊 Thank you Rode! The pool area was perfect. On the "Royal" side there are Cabanas everywhere! (and no kids) I highly recommend reserving one. (Your Butler can do this as well) It makes it nice to be able to get out of Mexico's hot sun and relax or even nap if you want to. All while being right there to enjoy the ocean breeze and beautiful view. Omar and Carlos were our pool concierge. Omar was helpful, pleasant and funny! He constantly came around and made us laugh. Thank you Omar😊 Carlos was like a breath of fresh air! He frequently came over to check on us and ALWAYS had a wonderful smile on his face 😊 Carlos even went out of his way for me one day and got me a bottle of aloe when i got sunburned. I highly recommend using sunscreen!! (We used SPF 50), and we still got sunburned. That Mexico sun is HOT☀️ The morning we were leaving, Carlos made sure he found us to come and give us hugs and say good bye. Thank you Carlos for making our trip special 😊 The restaurants were amazing! We ate at LaPalapa, Molè, Vento, Naõs, Sunset Grill and Blue Agavè, but Our favorite was the Market Grill. It is a Brazilian steakhouse. If you like meat, I highly recommend you try it! All of the wait staff there were friendly and efficient. They even remembered our favorite drinks and brought them to us when we were seated (since we ate there a few nights). There were a few other restaurants that we didn't get a chance to dine at. LaPalapa was a restaurant exclusively for royal guests. We had breakfast and lunch here many times. It was situated outside right on the ocean. The view was exceptional!! And so was the food 😊 Paradisus was a phenomenal family vacation. We made many memories there that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. I pray we get the opportunity to return again one day 💗☀️🌴

Everything about this resort was wonderful ! Went for 4 days and wish we went for longer. The hotel is just stunning ! They take amazing care of the property, workers are always cleaning the grounds and service was very fast. We had a lagoon view and it was so beautiful, our room was always clean and always stocked. Beds were comfortable. Our room seemed slightly warm and a/c wouldn't go down past 65. The beach was very clean, life guards are always out watching. It wasn't too busy so we always had a spot to sit under an umbrella, but people do go early and reserve spots. Food was amazing ! We ate at 2 a la cartes: Bana (which should be #1 on everyones list of to do's) and wow this place was delicious !!! And Vento which we weren't the biggest fans of only because we didn't realize the style of meals were to get multiple small orders and share the portions. Buffet was so great ! In our group there were 2 vegans and a vegetarian and we were all very well fed, options for everyone ! Short ride to airport as well, around 15-20 minutes. Highly recommend and will be returning in the future !

My husband and I traveled with our 5 year old daughter. Honestly.... the vacation was awesome! From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, my worries were gone. We had a FEW hiccups with our family concierge, and a few hiccups with our dinner reservations, but at the en of the day, everything was taken care of beautifully. Overall, the food at this resort was AMAZING!! Although breakfast was "mundane", it was good and for lunch and dinner, we never had a meal that wasn't WAY above our expectations! Our family concierge "Alexander", was really really amazing. He must've had a tracker on us as he could always find us to check how we were doing. My daughter was thrilled with his "treats" for her and even 2 months later, is asking when we can go back to Cancun to see Alexander. Additionally, the kids club was very responsive and entertaining for our daughter. She has NEVER been willing to stay in a club, but asked to go play several times. We so enjoyed our planned stay that we extended our vacation for an extra 2 days. For this extension, Alexander made arrangements for us to be upgraded to an AMAZING room with double balcony and GORGEOUS ocean view. I can't thank him enough!. And even though we hadn't paid to extend the "concierge", Alexander continued to monitor our needs and made sure our daughter was cared for. For our final night, we returned from dinner to find Chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals strewn across the bed. (nice thought..... but hello child in room) Ocean water was extremely rough for the entire stay but there are plenty of pools to keep anyone occupied. Hotel itself is beautiful. It was so peaceful to have all the greenery and running water inside. We didn't get to use the spa, as it was out of order for a few days. But it didn't dampen my experience. LOVED it... Would love to go back today!

Let me preface my review with the fact that we are Melia Vacation Club Members and have many benefits not available to standard hotel room occupants. As members, we have a concierge, a butler, free use of the gym facilities and various discounts. Prior to arrival, we asked our concierge to note we wanted an ocean view room. I had specifically reserved a studio in hopes that there would be more studios with an ocean view than the size room which we originally bought. That worked; we were given an ocean view room (although not guaranteed prior to arrival) and avoided an argument at check in over room assignment. Our concierge also put us in touch with Otiem for hotel transports. Service was prompt; the vehicle was clean. Also, our transport was private; we didn’t have to stop at other resorts or be packed into a van. From check in to check out, our time at the Paradisus was near perfect. The room, while maybe a bit small, was clean and well decorated. With a few minor exceptions: there are very few electrical outlets and the sleeper sofa is poorly designed – my husband and I each cracked a toe on it, the bathroom outlet tripped regularly and was difficult to reset and the hot water was not on when we arrived. The fixable items were taken care of the next day. The ac wasn’t as cold as we would have liked but it was comfortable, even while sleeping. There was a one-speed (high) fan in the room which we couldn’t leave on all night as it rattled a bit. But when we returned from the pool, it was nice to have running to move the air in the room. (Okay, so the power was out one day; but no matter what hotel you were at on that day, the power was out – that was definitely not within the hotel’s control). With a lot of open air space, air conditioning in the hotel literally runs from comfortable to hot. Our room was never “cold” but comfortable. There was a one-speed (high) fan in the room which we couldn’t leave on all night as it rattled a bit. But when we returned from the pool, it was nice to have running to move the air in the room. The view of the beautiful blue ocean, as you walk out the doors at the center of the hotel, onto the patio area, will take your breath away. Every time I visit, I am awestruck at the beauty! Breakfast at Nao restaurant was always delicious. Service was cheerful and, usually, our coffee and water were monitored by the wait staff. There were a tremendous number of breakfast items from which to choose: Mexican fare, omelet / egg station, fresh fruits, cereals, breads and pastries, cheeses, etc. With the vast selection, it would be hard to walk away hungry. We also ate at Nao two evening. (Sometimes a full restaurant meal would have been too much). Don’t know if there is an upcharge but I heard that Wednesday evenings feature seafood, including lobster tails. Tuesday was Mexican night. We were happy to enjoy soup and salad with a large dessert selection on our two visits. For the reservation only restaurants, I wonder if the chefs are trying to outperform each other for wildest creations. They were good in their own way; but in reading the menu, we opted for the most “normal” sounding items. We ate at Fuego and Mole and were treated to one wine paring dinner at Tempo. At Mole, a family came in with a very cranky infant. Definitely ruined the evening. Please, I don’t pay to dine out and listen to your child scream. Tempo is a very upscale restaurant in the hotel. The chef (can’t remember or say the name) is a 6 star Michelin chef. While I couldn’t tell you what we were served, I can say that the food was delicious. Since this is not part of the all-inclusive, a visit to this restaurant will cost you big dollars (@ $200 US per person). The restaurant is very quiet and romantic, featuring a pianist and the best service in all of Cancun. If you think you would like to enjoy Tempo’s offerings, be sure to pack “nice” clothes – slacks and collared shirt for men and a dress for women. I think we will splurge on this one when we return to Paradisus Cancun. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. There are several pools: one pool is vast, running from a shallow “kiddie” area (near Tower 1) to a deep, large area (near Tower 2). The water temperature was comfortable. The pool bar is in the large pool. The other pool is split with Royal Service (Tower 4) and a more quiet pool area (Tower 3). Pool seating was often all “reserved” by 9 am. I know, the hotel discourages reserving chairs; but it happens. One afternoon, I did see a server removing towels from unoccupied chairs. Most likely, the server knew the occupants had left for the day. Most days, we treated ourselves to a Bali bed (Members have privileges, including reduced rates). These beds were made up daily with fresh covers on the mattress and pillows. Did I mention NO TOWEL CARDS?! Pool service was excellent. The three ladies (names not known) were the best. We were never out of water or drinks. While we could get our own snacks at the poolside grill, the servers offered and brought to us plates of chips with queso and salsa. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and various other items were also available at the grill. In all, thank you to the Vacation staff and pool servers for their attention to making our trip wonderful. Our concierge, Louis, helped pre-arrival and made our reservations for dinners. Our butler, Jorge / Georgie, was so pleasant and fun. He took care of the details and showered us with a couple of surprise gifts. The three ladies who provided pool-side service were wonderful. They kept us from getting thirsty! It was fun to interact with all of them as we like to learn about them and the culture. Thank you, thank you! While gratuities are included in the all-inclusive, we did tip the servers. A few dollars for good service went a long way to ensure continued good service. Tipping was our choice. In all, this trip was wonderful. What could go wrong with sun, sand and a drink in my hand?
