We're a bit late in posting this review, but better late than never :) - Family of 4 ( 2 girls 5yrs and 9yrs) - Booked Ocean view - Family Concierge service - on arrival, the check-in was done at the nice Family Concierge facility... kids played pool while we did the check-in - we were given a cell-phone to contact our Butler, Gloria. - Gloria took care of everything from restaurant bookings to excursion planning etc. - She would leave a local toy/ treats for the Girls everyday!!! They loved it!!! - if you are a young family, don't think just go with Family Conceirge service. - Kids Zone was amazing, it would open at 9 and go till 8. Girls didn't even want to go back to the room :). They would take them to the pool, feed them lunch/dinner and engage them in tons of activities. - Thanks to Kids Zone, we go some adult time everyday - Restaurants are great... each is better than the other. The general buffet itself is quite good and full of variety - the drinks, while not top of top shelf, we're pretty decent. - we rented a car on two days to visit xCarat and Tulum/Xel-Ha. Driving there is pretty straight-forward the road is straight-line as well. - weather was amazing all 7 days - everyday, near the pool they have some performances. - Also, every evening there is a performance/show at inside bar. - Didn't have one dull moment - Transit from/to the airport was smooth - Staff is extra helpful and polite... the quality of service is really good. You can't go wrong with this resort!!! We had an amazing time!!! Gloria, thanks for all your assistance and service... it was simply amazing. The girls still talk about you ;) Cheers!!! Had an excellent week at the Paradisus Cancun. We are Club Melia members so we were in the Club Melia section. Room was great, 5th floor, beautiful ocean view. The resort is large so you get lots of exercise walking around. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant selection was large (6) quality of food was very good. Concierge at Club Melia very helpful. All in all an excellent week No complaints.

Very nice hotel! We loved the Royal Services and its restaurant at the beach! Also love the main lobby atmosphere, night shows, and bars!. There was a great idea to open the disco at 11:00 PM since we do not usually stay late so for us was perfect. Definitely we will be back in the future.

Resort is exceptional in every way. Impeccably clean, friendly staff, nice variety of restaurants with excellent food, premium drinks everywhere, and picture perfect location. Beautiful marble interior and the most exquisite lobby of any resort. Pools are large and clean and the beach volleyball was a blast. This is the 2nd time we have been there and already talking about booking another trip there. Highly recommend !!!!

Our experience started off poorly. We booked our reservations then 2 weeks later it went down $500 a room, they wouldn't credit us the difference or work with us. We repeatedly contacted them and were ignored us every time. Don't bother trying to contact the hotel directly or Melia customer service. I called the hotel and asked to speak to a front desk manager and was told they "didn't have one". I asked if this is the poor service that we can expect upon arrival, he responded with a "Yes". THIS IS NOT A 4 or 5 STAR HOTEL...DON'T BE FOOLED. The $1500 resort credits are a complete joke. Let's start off with the hotel rooms: we had 2 double/double rooms. Beds are truly double sized beds, not queens, and were comfortable. We asked for adjoining rooms since we were traveling with kids, did not get it. DO NOT use the pull out couch, absolutely disgusting! The furniture is old, stained and beat up, doors to patio and bathroom were missing handles. Caution with bathrooms - there's a step to enter, tub is at a higher level then the floor and the door to the toilet can't be opened or shut unless the door to the bathroom is closed. You need to request daily to have your refrigerator refreshed. The last day we were there the air conditioning was barely working. Two days with no hot water for showers! Restaurants: If you don't make your reservations 24 hours in advance enjoy eating at 9:30-10pm or be subject to the buffet AGAIN. Service is extremely slow as well. We walked out of 2 of the restaurants because food was so bad at one and too slow at the other. You cannot walk in the restaurants without a reservation either. There was a buffet at the pool a few nights. We thought it was for private events but turned out to be for hotel guests. Overall the food was okay...some restaurants better than others, that's to be expected in our eyes. Hotel: TIRED! Needs a major renovation. ALL the lobby and lounge furniture is worn and torn. The hanging plants cause a mildew/musty smell so they over compensate with overwhelming air freshener machines all over the hotel - migraine central. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Make sure you find Oscar in the check in area...he'll take great care of you. The pool and beach were very nice, location is nice, public transportation ($1) was a great way to get to the shopping areas. There was entertainment at the pool but only on the weekend and the nightly entertainment in the lobby lounge was nicely done. We enjoyed our vacation, not because of the hotel but rather cause we made the best out of it. Would not go back, would not recommend staying at this hotel and will never stay at a Melia property again.
