I went with 5 girlfriends celebrating 50 and 60 year birthdays. We had 3 rooms and the hotel was able to get us altogether. We had a lagoon view on the third floor where we enjoyed amazing views of the sunset each night. Check in and out were a little slow but they give you a cold beer while you wait! The food did not give anybody stomach problems. Our favorites were Mole and Fuego. Breakfast buffet at the Market Grill each morning where we were treated like princesses by Martin and Fernando. Beach side our waiter Sofiano was great, bringing numerous Mojitos and buckets of ice cold bottled water. I enjoyed an amazing massage in the spa with Justina and a water aerobics class led by "Magic Mike". We also saw the Michael Jackson show, very entertaining with Cirque de soleii quality dancers. The resort is dated but it is also charming, kind of like going to Mexico in college! ( in the 80's!) Our room was comfortable, the lobby and open areas are not air conditioned but most of the time you could find a refreshing breeze. We went on a snorkle and Isla Contoy excursion. Great! Jauquin at the concierge desk was very helpful in setting this up. It was a nice break to do something different and see more of the area. Next time I want to do the underground cave trip. Our four night trip was under $1,000.00 including airfare from Houston. I think we definitely got our moneys worth!!

My sweetie and I always go to the ME Cancun for Memorial weekend. Unfortunately, they are currently undergoing renovations, so we decided to go to another hotel in Cancun. Lets just say the toilet and I were best friends because I had abdominal problems from the food. Hotel Grounds- This hotel needs to be renovated. There was always dirty towels on the floor throughout the hotel to soak up the leaks from the roof. Hotel looks old and the elevator smelled like mildew. However, there were always multitudes of workers tending to the vast array of plants and flowers inside the hotel. Room - We had an oceanview suite with a Jacuzzi. However, the Jacuzzi did not work. We called maintenance and they had to change the motor in the Jacuzzi. You mean to tell me no one knew the Jacuzzi was inoperable? Housekeeping - Below par. It appeared that the bed was the only thing that was tended to in the hotel room. Pool/Beach - Since we had the Royale Service/Club Melia, our Butler reserved the Bali Beds for us everyday that we stayed there. I preferred the Beds by the Club Melia side as opposed to the Royale Service side because it was much livelier. Very quiet by the Royale Service. Restaurants Naos - The buffet was awful and gave me stomach problems. Below, I will discuss each restaurant that I had the opportunity to eat at: Tempo - Michelin star, contemporary, formal/elegant restaurant. Hands down, this was the best restaurant that this resort has to offer. Although, its not included in the all-inclusive, its an absolute must to dine here. The food and service was impeccable and I had no stomach issues afterwards. This restaurant actual carries this resort. La Palapa - This restaurant is located in the Royal Service VIP and only Royal service guests can eat here. The food here is good. I enjoyed their breakfast as well. Mole - service was good, but the food was not. Mexican cuisine. Toiji - Asian Cuisine. Located in the middle of the hotel. Very nice restaurant and romantic. We ate here several times. Entertainment The Red Lounge was popping. In fact, this is the first resort in which people actual went to the lounge. Had alot of fun there. The DJ was great because he catered to the crowd. Drinks were great as well. Shows - We did not attend any shows at all. This resort was ok, but this is a one and done for us.

My friends and I arrived at Paradisus Cancun and were amazed. The level of service that they provide is amazing. The check in was seamless. Each and every restaurant was delicious. My personal favorite was Bana. Every staff member that worked at Coco's Beach Club are hands down EXCELLENT. They are all super friendly and very humorous. I can't wait to return in the near future.

Just came back from a week at the Paradisus. The resort is very pretty but in VERY serious need of a makeover. Our room had chips and cracks in the floors and throughout the hotel it was very obvious that this was an old building that needed a lot of updating. There are hardly enough outlets in the room for charging and some didn’t work at all. The views are spectacular and the turquoise water was perfect. We had two rooms with an ocean view that were incredible! Check-in – long lines and took forever. Gave us resort coupons but never explained how to use them. The way they work – they were not even worth it. For example, one of the coupons was for $10 at the store. So I had picked out a few things. Unfortunately, they advised me that I had to spend $100 to get $10 off. Ridiculous - so we never even used any of them. Also, we had a reservation for a king room and a double room. They could not honor our king size room which was terrible and I was very disappointed to find out that a reservation made months in advance could not be honored. The lobby is very pretty – but it is extremely HOT! The air-conditioning is close to nothing throughout the entire lobby. It was extremely uncomfortable walking around at night and just trying to “hang out” as it was so hot and humid. Food: Food was very good. The presentation and taste in the restaurants were great – but if you have picky eaters you may have some problems. The restaurants were not crowded or busy yet we seem to never be able to get reservations at the restaurant we wanted. Every time we went to eat there were always empty tables so I am not sure why it was always a problem. Service in every restaurant was phenomenal and we always tipped our waiters as it was well-deserved. Our favorite place was Blue Agave. Loved to just grab some chips and guacamole or some delicious tacos or quesadillas. Bars: There are not enough bars or places to get drinks around. We recently went to the Hard Rock Punta Cana and loved that there were places all over to get drinks. Never a problem finding drinks. There were bars everywhere and even martini and vodka bars set up throughout the resorts. This was certainly NOT the case at the Paradisus. Aside from the main bar, and the pool bar there were not many options. Definitely could use more bars throughout the resort Entertainment: LACKING – I never saw anything but one singer by the pool at night. No activities around the pool. At the Hard Rock Punta Cana there were tons of poolside games, activities, foam parties, etc. Lots for young and old adults. Nothing happening at the Paradisus. Never saw the non-motorized sports either and no one told us where they were. Finally, on the day were leaving we saw parasailing offered at the beach. Shops were nice – typical resort and hotel merchandise. However, the resort does not accept American dollars (unless you are tipping of course). Only pesos or credit cards. In a nutshell, we had a great time with our friends but along with the cost of staying of here and lack of entertainment, amenities, and outdated facilities ---- we would not stay here again. I don’t think it’s worth the price and there are many other resorts with more to offer. The service and staff were GREAT but it's just not worth it. This resort is definitely no more than an average 3 star.
