Having stayed and a wonderful hotel in Playa del Carmen, and pretty good resort in Puerto Morelos, I wasn't sure how much I would like being on a "Miami Beach" strip of hotels in the middle of Cancun (which is shaped like the number 7). Well, the Paradisus Cancun was great! First of all the staff was friendly and accommodating to a person. Check in to the Royal Service (which I HIGHLY recommend!!!) was a breeze. The beach/ocean facing room was very nice and the view was beautiful. Even the inside of the hotel, shaped like a pyramid, is beautiful, with lush greenery and decorations. Food in all the restaurants was very good. The Royal Service portion of the hotel adds music in the "lobby" at dinner time. Finger foods and top shelf drinks are always available during "waking" hours, and are included in your stay. Royal Service also means that all food and top shelf drinks are yours anywhere on the grounds of the hotel. Beach chairs in a roped off area for R.S. is constantly attended by waiters bringing you food and drink. R.S. has it's own large pool. The beach was beautiful white sand and had minimal seaweed issues, unlike beaches south of Cancun. The water...GORGEOUS! To top it off, Paradisus Cancun is right across the street from a large water sport facility where most people visiting the strip will end up to either rent boats, cruise, scuba, water park, etc, but staying here you simply walk across the street! I would absolutely go back here.

We upgraded to Royal service. The entire staff was kind, attentive, accommodating and exceeded our expectations. Extra special shout out to Joel de Jesus Rojano (pictured with us) Joel really went out of his way for us at La Pallapa which had the most incredible breakfast, lunch, and deserts. Joel truly made our vacation special.

Upon arrival we were led to Royal Service check in: Melina checked us into our Royal stay and we were assigned to Rode as our butler, pronounced "roady" Rode made all of our dinner reservations for our stay, also reservations at Yhi Spa. Poolside/beach side bali beds were handled by Carlos, great guy that is truly concerned with your stay and how he can make it better. Royal Service customers are guaranteed one day pool bali bed and one day beach bali bed. Carlos exceeded this for us, thanks Carlos. Drinks were served beachside by Moises, Orlando and Octavian. These guys work hard i the Can cun heat to keep your glass filled with your choice of beverage. La Palapa grill overlooks the beautiful Cancun Caribbean sea! Valeria, Cesar Ramon, Joel, Hector and the staff at La Palapa work hard to make your stay in Paradisus unforgettable! Vento is tapas and food was good, The Market Grill is good but I suggest at least a 7:30 pm reservation as it is warm. Special Romanatic dinner for my wife's birthday was handled by Cesar and Ramon. Filet Mignon and grilled Caribbean lobster was outstanding, so was their service. Fuego is great! Naos buffet is somewhat crowded for breakfast but if you go Royal you can eat breakfast at La Palapa or eat in Pyramid 5. First relaxing massage was with Liliana and Sandy and it was fantastic. The second relaxing massage was Anna and Sandy and equally fantastic. If you come here to relax that is what you will get. The butler Rode gave us his cell number and if we needed anything we simply texted him and he took great care of us. The butler does not follow you around but is there if you want or need anything. Rode filled the bill. Camille was very helpful at the Royal Service Pyramid 5 with USD/Peso conversion and general information. Just for the heck of it we took bus R-1 to Cancun Centro ADO and another bus to Playa Del Carmen for the day! People were like freaking out as they thought we were taking a chance but we had no problems. Overall I say it is five (5) star*****! Looking to come back to Paradisus Cancun Royal Service soon. The swimming pool is nice and warm, but is very hot here and this hotel lacks of of umbrellas to protect you from the sun, it is imposible to sit by the sun the whole day. They need at least as minimum about 50 or more of them to protect yourself from the sun. The other thing that is so bad of this hotel is that there is no place to see the shows in the evenings, you have to sit on the steps that go to the beach to see the night shows, which are very uncomfortable. I have been in other hotels with a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the show. This hotel was much better 6 years ago when we came for the first time.
