This is part 1 of my review. We are still here at the resort, in the Royal Service area. So far, after 4 days, we are unimpressed. Check in was speedy and we were asked if we would like a newspaper delivered daily, which I had said yes to. So far, we have not received one paper. Not a big deal, but it's just one of many "slips" we've experienced here so far. After checking in, we were passed off to the time share sales person (disguised as someone who was going to explain the resort to us). We declined her invitation to learn more and meet her the following day. To me, that is tacky. At least let me unpack my bags first !! We were then introduced to our butler who has been fabulous the entire time, very attentive and thinks ahead of what our needs might be.....he gets a 5 star rating from us. He took us to our 1 bedroom suite (not the jr suite). I have had better suites in Fairfield Inns!! There is no tub, no hair conditioner (only shampoo and body wash). The furniture is dated, although I will say the bed and linens are very good. The pool area and Bali Beds are very nice and all of the servers there are very good. The biggest disappointment is the food. I'm generally pretty easy to please when it comes to food, but I have not had one good meal since we've arrived. Blue Agave the first night was barely average (options are tacos or quesidillas) buffet breakfast had cold hasbrowns and cold sausage. Market Street Grill was nothing more than sliced meat, no sauces, no veggies and luke warm potatoes. Vento the next night was average. The cold appetizers were terrible, however most of the warm ones were average. Tonite was Mole' which everyone raved about. We hated it. We had SeaBass and it was so over cooked that we needed a steak knife to cut thru it. The veggies were nothing more than boiled, no seasoning. However, the dessert was good. Tomorrow is the spa and we have 3 more nights here. I'll be back with an update, but so far, for the price the charge, it's not worth it because the food is such a disappointment. On another note, they do have top shelf alcohol. That's it for tonite......hopefully something spectacular happens the next few days to change my mind about this resort.

We enjoyed it so much as a family that we bought into Club Mela. So we will be back each year. The all inclusive was worth every penny. The pool was great with swim up bar. The restaurants were great ! The beach and water was fabulous. The life guards were very attentive and tried very hard to keep us together and safe.

Spent three nights here last week. Nice beach, good restaurants, Agave great tacos.Large, comfortable guest room, fridge and flat screen tv. Spaceous bathroom complete with a bidet. View of lagoon from deck was nice.Staff were all friendly and helpful, premium liquor available as part of all-inclusive.

I have been to a variety of resorts in the area and this is definitely my favorite resort! Paradisus is truly a Paradise! Something to keep in mind, I do not look for a party hotel and enjoy relaxation during my Cancun vacation. If you are looking for crazy parties, this may not be the best place. Furthermore, I always stay in the adults only - Royal Service area which is separate from the general hotel area, so this review is based on that. Having said that, this hotel is fantastic! Environment There are a lot of beautiful decorations, water and plants inside the hotel. Whether it is raining or extremely hot outside, I love the fresh feel and atmosphere. The Royal Service has its private hall lounge area with pools of water, plants, beautiful lights, alcoholic beverages and a mini buffet. It looks and feels like a garden in a faerie tale. There is a large main hall with beautiful greenery and pools as well. My favorite restaurant (Bana) is hidden amongst the plants right in the middle! The hotel boasts a lot of cabanas that are brilliantly located around the pool and beach area in the Royal Service area. They are not guaranteed for the entire stay, but depending on occupancy you should be able to reserve it for a big part of it. Food There are tons of restaurants, an amazing buffet and little snack areas with coffee and ice cream set up! I recommend the restaurants Bana and Fuego. The Royal Service area has its own private restaurant, The Palapa which serves delicious custom made breakfasts and lunches! A lot of the restaurants like Palapa, Nao and Fuego face the ocean which is makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Service Truly a highlight of this establishment! The management and the team here are fantastic. I have come to this resort for the past 10 years and the service never changes. Always amazing! Everyone is always friendly and trying to go above and beyond in every aspect of the experience. Take the waiters at the pool for example, they are checking in as our drinks get lower and quickly bring another round when we need them. I have never had faster and friendlier service anywhere else in Cancun. They have a button to call a server in each cabana, and I never have to use it as they consistently appear out of nowhere. Beach The beach area is extensive with room for 2 lines of beds, a nice gap and the area for people to walk near the water. The water is pretty clean and the beach is nice. No rocks. The only downside is that it’s windy, but that’s common for Cancun. (tif you want less wind and calm water, go to Isla de Mujeres) Potential Improvements Overall I love this place, but there is always a little bit of room for improvement. A few quick suggestions: 1. Expand the gym area. The trend is heading towards working out, even during vacation. 2. Add a smoothie shop. I think the additions for gelato and coffee are awesome! Take it to the next level and add a smoothie place with healthy veggie options. 3. Add a hospitality room so that people can change and go to the beach if the rooms aren’t ready. I have seen other hotels doing this.
