Sandos Cancun Luxury Resort

This is definitely not a 5-star resort. We spent one week here, and the condition of the room left a lot to be desired for a property that claims this standard. The bathroom was in particularly poor shape—the tiles were literally disintegrating. The balcony door didn’t close properly, meaning the room was not soundproof at all. The noise was constant and extremely disruptive, mainly coming from a large air-conditioning or extractor unit from a neighbouring property (much bigger than Sandos), which runs continuously and is very loud. Because of this, it’s impossible to properly enjoy the pool area. The noise is always there—whether you’re by the pool, walking through the resort, or even passing by on the beach. The location itself is great, but we deeply regret not choosing one of the neighbouring hotels instead. Prices were very similar, yet those properties appeared to be in much better condition and offered noticeably better service. Unfortunately, the photos used by the hotel and tour operators are clearly outdated. It feels like a marketing trick to make people book, and sadly my partner and I fell for it. The food was genuinely good—I’ll give credit where it’s due—but that would likely be the case at the hotel next door as well. Overall, it’s a big, definite no from both of us. This is simply not a 5-star resort. To make matters worse, during our stay there was renovation work going on. Pool tiling was being redone in the evenings, involving loud noise while old tiles were being removed. There was also other building work around the property. Service was disappointing too. On one occasion, I waited around 20 minutes for a beach towel, which was never replenished. Asking reception for help didn’t resolve the issue either. Absolute no from us. Thanks for ruining our Caribbean holiday!

Great show with Karla and Ariel. We had much fun, people were dancing, Elvis tribute was great, we just would like it to last longer

This was our second stay at this resort. First time it was a surprise gift for my birthday and the second time was a couple of days for Christmas. If you want fun, the activities at the pool are excellent and very entertaining. If you want relaxation the beach is absolutely stunning. Our friend Ariel Montoya Rodríguez and the entertainment team made our stay very fun indeed. Everybody in the hotel is very friendly and ready to help all the time. The general manager is always around making sure everything runs smoothly. Nights of dancing and shows, parties at the pool and the food and drinks are excellent. Will return for sure.

Excellent experience at this hotel. This was my second stay this year, my first being in November 2025. We returned for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and the experience exceeded expectations once again. The room was comfortable and well maintained, the amenities were excellent, and the entertainment added a great holiday atmosphere (see photos). The food was high quality, and the service throughout the stay was attentive and professional. A truly enjoyable and memorable visit. I highly recommend this hotel.

Paula and her team was awesome. Good vibes. Real deep music at the pool. In the future make more RAVE :) Organize competitions like Mr. and Mrs. Sandos :) Come up with tasks like dancing, singing, or something else what all peolple LOL :)
