Location is OK - very closely squeezed between two other Cancun strip properties. Therefore, most of the pools are in the shade from about 1pm onwards. The beach is lovely piece of heaven. The staff are very attentive. The rooms were very well appointed, and kept immaculately clean. However, everything that related to food was poor. Seating at restaurants was slow - despite being half empty. The quality of the food was incredibly poor. An example - do NOT order the spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs were CRISPY! Like rocks. Most of us do not go to an all-inclusive for the food - which is why I give it an average rating overall. If food is important to you, do not stay here.

We've been to Cancun seven times and have stayed at several hotels. I've reviewed every hotel with my honest sincerity as I will this one. Every hotel has it's positives and negatives and you can't please everyone. We spent 10 days at Sandos. With that said, here is my review. Friends that we met in Mexico four years ago recommended that we stay there (as they had several times). When we entered the lobby it was much smaller than we expected. In general, the hotel looked smaller than what we normally stay in and we began to wonder if I had the correct hotel. We did! Sandos is a smaller hotel and there are perks to that as you get more personal service. Check in: We were greeted with friendly faces. Our check in was swift. I reserved a room with a balcony and a king sized bed and got exactly what I asked for. Concierge were very helpful and accommodating. The room: Very spacious and clean! Huge bathroom. Shower, bathroom and shower are all separate. Shower gel, lotion, soap and shampoo included. The closet has two robes, two sets of slippers, extra shelves for clothing, iron, umbrella and a scale that can be switched to lbs or kilo's (helps to weigh your luggage upon departure). The beds are AMAZINGLY comfortable! The fridge contained Pepsi, Diet, 7-Up, Miranda, Mango juice, V8, Heineken, Tecate Lite, Dos Equis and several bottles of water. TV guide is located in the drawer and 24hr room service. We stayed on the 5th floor and had a view of both the sea and the lagoon. Restaurants: Zango: This is where you will eat breakfast buffet style. Your waitress(er) will take your egg order. This is also open at 12:30 for lunch buffet. Both are really good. Diana always knew where the 4 of us wanted to be seated and made it happen. Miguel knew what our drinks were before we even sat down. Chantal and Fernando were our waitress/waiter on multiple occasions and were amazing! Estaban made it a point to make sure we were satisfied when he was there. St. Tropez: Lunch/Snack Bar. Honestly, I didn't care for the lunch menu other than the pizza (which is REALLY good). You can order from the beach and/or pool to be delivered. Dinner: Italian. This was our favorite! Start off with savory bread to dip in oil and Parmesan then build your own pasta or choose from the menu. The Steak House: I didn't eat, but my party was not happy at all. The Hibachi Grill or French restaurant: N/A Bathrooms: There are bathrooms located near Bar One to the left. If you're facing St. Tropez, there are bathrooms located on the right past the pizza kiln. There are also bathrooms located on either side behind Bar 2. Ice: The ice machines are located to the left of the elevators. Beach: Great beach! Avoid going into the water in the center as the tide is strong. Listen to the life guards. Stay in the shallow areas on the right and left side of the beach. Alex and Eric took great care of us everyday that we were there! So helpful and accomidating! Also, the beach staff: Antonio, Casanova, Heriberto were amazing and always there when you needed them! The Pool and Entertainment: Brandon made our trip! He was so friendly and engaging!!! Daily entertainment, great music and variety. ETC: Casino night was a lot of fun! Sandos had a Mardi Gras parade which was cool and celebrated Valentines day as well. The food was good generalized. The way I look at it is I didn't starve but I didn't gain a bunch of weight on vacation. I do agree...this hotel NEEDS chips and salsa, after all we are in Mexico but I can live without a tennis court! We will return to this hotel and thus far, it is my favorite!

Superb service everyday. Awesome pools and views. Food was terrific and Miguel in the Zango dining room was an excellent representative of this organization. If he worked at a place near me I would try to steal him what a great worker he made our experience in the dining room a great experience everyday. Artemio the Chef was an a culinary delight fixing special dishes for my wife every night. If you are going to Cancun this IS the resort to stay in.

This was our first time at a smaller resort but that was ok for a few days! The food was some of the best we have had at a resort and made the trip. Heriberto our waiter at St. Trop. at night was outstanding and truly made our food experience the best! His service was superb and the presentation of the Irish Coffee was one for everyone to experience-we did twice! Also thank you to Alfonzo the chef for a special great dinner the night before we left. Lucy from concierge was very helpful in getting us back a lost item we had left at the hotel. All of the servers at the pool were great and constantly got us drinks and any food we wanted (pizza was good!). Thank you for the great service! I will add that the WIFI service was spotty when not in the hotel and there is full shade over the pool area after 2:30 due to the building next to it which was disappointing if you wanted more sun you had to go to the beach.

This resort was the worst experience I have had in Cancun. The food was the only highlight of this hotel. First of all we booked and paid for a King size bed, they put us in a double bed room and their option to fix the bed was to pull both beds together. Which was ridiculous because there was a lamp right in the middle. The service at the front desk was horrendous. The staff never knew what was happening and we had to ask 4 to 5 people to get our questions answered. The people at the pool restaurant were completely rude. Do not trust the good reviews.. I am not that picky and this hotel was definitely not worth what it charges!
