Sandos Cancun Luxury Resort

The hotel was average overall and, in my opinion, closer to a 3-star property than a higher-rated resort. The pools were not well maintained. There was mold visible on the tiles both inside and around the pools. Every day, the maintenance staff cleaned the pool area using a brush, water, and detergent from a bucket, then pushed the dirty water directly into the pool while guests were swimming. This was both unpleasant and concerning. The buffet was disappointing and offered limited variety. On some days, there was very little to choose from. There were evenings when neither meat nor fish was available at the buffet, and when we asked the staff, we were told that we needed to place an order if we wanted meat. This made me question why it was advertised as a buffet if certain items had to be ordered separately. The best dining experience was at the Japanese restaurant. However, reservations were required, and it was not open every night. The rooms were acceptable but outdated. There were also maintenance issues throughout the property. At one point, pieces of the building were falling from the structure, and the staff had placed a protective cover over the back entrance to prevent debris from hitting guests. The gym was reasonably well equipped, with two treadmills, elliptical machines, and a variety of strength-training equipment. Unfortunately, the elliptical machines were out of order during our stay. The entertainment team was one of the highlights of the resort. Karla was extremely passionate about her job and provided excellent activities, training sessions, and memorable experiences for guests. Romario was also fantastic and contributed greatly to the positive atmosphere. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the barman at Bar One came across as arrogant and unprofessional. In contrast, the staff at Bar Six and the beach bar were excellent and provided great service. The beach itself was covered with a significant amount of seaweed, and the waves were quite rough during our stay. As a result, we spent most of our time around the pool area instead of on the beach.

Romario, such a great service and entertainer! Friendly, sweet, fun, caring and respectful. His presence was enjoyable and much appreciated.
