Was a guest along with 9 other family members from January 1-6, 2018. Check in was quick and cold drinks were waiting for us in the lobby. I emailed the hotel trying to get all four of our rooms close together on the same floor months in advance but they were unable to accommodate my request. The rooms were clean, beds soft, and the AC was cold and quiet. Santiago, our housekeeper, always greeted me by name and with a smile every day. The beach is small but amazing. The beach wait staff were attentive and always ready to bring you drinks and food. During lunch, food service is slow at St. Trop and the beach so plan accordingly. Sandos also has a daily cooking class during lunch in front of the pools which was always delicious and fresh. Fresh baked pizza is also an option and is worth it. Sandos was very accommodating to our party of 10 as we were able to reserve tables a the many restaurants for dinner. Zango buffet, for breakfast, was always fast and fresh with the many selections to include an omelet bar. Don't forget to request bacon as it was usually in the omelet area. The evening always found us at Bar One, a large formal bar area. DJ Pepe was the life of the evening as he spun hits every night. Service always seemed to be slow but usually only one person was working the room. Casino night was fun as well as the traditional Mexican dancing night. Suggestion..It would be nice to have programs/shows in a larger room instead of outside in the cool weather. My group, 13 to 79 years of age, had a very good time and we would come back to Sandos in the future.

I'll start by saying yes I would come back here, but only for an event. I'm 44 so for me the vibe was just fine, there were some kids but not too many to be annoying. It's not a party resort (another plus for me). This is me first time to Cancun so I don't have much to compare it too. They will NOT win the food award. My biggest complaint would be that our food was almost always cold. I'm not super picky so I was always able to find something that I liked, but the temperature was a big deal. The hibachi was great, the best thing I'd eaten there and maybe because it was hot. The pesto was green tinted oil, very very oily. Certain things were really good though, carne asada sandwich was great. We didn't try the French place but I heard it was great. I didn't ever see the Italian restaurant open. The service for the most part was really good, Everybody was nice and never acted like your requests were a problem. After few days you get to know the staff and they are always giving a smile. My room was beautiful. It was supposed to have 2 beds and we ended up with 1 king. I let that slide because we were a big wedding party and mistakes happen, they offered to change it and we decided to keep it because the view was beautiful. Another really cool thing was the room window opened you could look out and feel that air...loved it! they did a beautiful job on the wedding Carmen is THE BEST. It's a beautiful resort, lots of cabanas, places to sit and the beach is incredibly clean. My biggest complaint would be the food. Everything else was very nice.

Sandos has a super helpful staff, delicious food, nice amenities. It is one of the rare hotels to have beach beds, which are confortable and allow to enjoy the beach the whole day. I would definitely recommend it.

My wife and I along with my sister and two nieces spent a long weekend (Friday through Monday) at Sandos Cancun. First the good. We arrived at the resort and found the room we were given had no balcony. I requested a king with a balcony. We were upgraded to the second floor with a balcony and two doubles. The maid was able to put the two beds together. Great view of the ocean and lagoon! The beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs and day beds. The restaurant on the beach was a great place for lunch each day. The steakhouse was good. Now the not so good. The pools were cold and shaded by the all too close Secrets of the Vine. Bar situation was lame. Bar 1 is dark and inside with outdated chairs and couches. Bar 2, the outside bar, looked like it could be fun. Oh, but not so much. It was closed from the time we got there to the time we left. What a waste! The Japanese restaurant was fair. No appetizers or desserts. Went to the buffet to get dessert. Not a good idea. Beach service was hit or miss. First day didn't see a waiter. Other times, he would show up, then disappear for hours. There's plenty of better options along this beautiful stretch of beach. Will not return.

Great room, amazing pool, the drinks are very nice and the playa is the BEST. It seems that they are the only one that cleans their playa from alga and waste. Service is really good. Shout out to hostess Diana who provide us with great custumer care and remembered our name and room number even after the first service. However, if you are looking for great coffee (or any type of coffee), this is not the place !! Also, the buffet is good, but food is always kind of cold when you get back to your table. At night, shows are kinda boring and the set up is very unsuitable for shows (it is more like a lounge and not like a theatre).
