This was our third time to Secrets Silversands and we absolutely love this resort. On our first Trip we stayed at a Partial Ocean View Room, Second time the Preferred Club Oceanview Swimout, and this Vacation we chose to wing it with the deal of the day which ended up being a Jr. Suite Pool View(5401). The one nice thing of this Resort is unless you're staying in a Master Suite or Honeymoon Suite, the Rooms are all identical: Modern, Comfortable, and Accomodating. The only disappointing parts of this vacation was the inaccessibility of the elevator at our building (to conserve energy) and the absence of top shelf liquors: they offered Tanguerray, Stoli, Beef Eater, Jose Cuervo, Hornitos, Disaronno, Crown Royale. Not to sound like a liquor snob but was looking forward to Grey Goose Vodka and Petron Silver. The service was outstanding at the Pools! Our waitresses were very attentive to ensuring that our cocktails were replenished. (Big Thank-you to Amanda and others who did an excellent job). There was plenty of action going on at the Main Pool but if you like it a little more quiet definitely check out the infiniti pool over by the preferred club buildings. It's breathtaking and relaxing. Service at the restaraunts were very good! During this stay Silversands was at a 99% Occupancy Rate and this is probably where we could feel the effects. We joined two other couples on this trip so generally it took about an hour to wait for a table of 6 ( not too bad). For a bigger party, I definitely recommend notifying them ahead of time so you are not waiting any longer. Definitely try out the Himitsu, a great entertaining dinner and gives you a chance to meet other people staying at the resort. The Chicken Cordon Bleu, Onion Soup, and Crème Brulee was amazing at the Bordeaux. The Buffet for Breakfast was full and plentiful! I recommend getting there before 9 am. It can get congested. We had the opportunity to have breakfast at the Seaside Grill Area due to maintenance at the other Room. It was very nice and hope they consider having breakfast out there more often. We didn't make it to enjoy the entertainment offered at night, however did stay up to watch the "Circus" show. It was amazing. The thing we like the most is the layout of the resort. Everything for the most part is a 5 minute walk apart from each other. All restaraunts are in the same location. It looks like Secrets has done a better job enhancing the beach area ( it seemed cleaner and bigger than the last time). Coming to this resort you have to understand its not about the beach, it's all about the pools and the resort. Definitely try out the Pevonia Spa! I had a spa pedicure and manicure here and they were amazing (roughly $79 +tip each). Definitely expensive but highly recommend it! The staff here have always been top notch on customer service and willing to go above and beyond to make your stay spectacular! This will not be our last time here.

This was our first visit ever to a resort of this size. We usually stay at much smaller resorts. We really enjoy quiet and relaxation. Upon a referral from a friend we decided to try this particular property. The grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. The resort itself is very large and has different areas. The main pool, which has the swim-up bar, restaurants, etc. tends to be a big party place. Lots of entertainment, lots of activity and a lot to see. Luckily, due to our particular preference our room was not located in this area. We booked one of the Cabana's in the club section. It was very nice and quiet by our room and when interested in some activity we would venture down to the restaurant located at main pool for lunch. The food and the staff were wonderful. Very attentive and willing to please. The one person in particular who made our stay wonderful and met all of our expectations was Fahdir. He really made our stay special and pleasant! I think this is a wonderful resort. I will admit it seems to be geared more towards a younger crowd, especially at the main pool area. But it is possible to have peace and quiet should you wish and with that being said, I highly recommend booking a room in the club section. Would we return, yes.

My husband and I visited this resort November 4-8. I had planned it as a surprise for a significant birthday he reached this year. When we got to our room, there was a happy birthday banner on the door, balloons, rose petals spelling out his age, and champagne and birthday cake. Such a nice, unexpected touch. We were in building 4, right across from the elevator, and never had any issues with noise. I am a little surprised at some of the other reviews I've read complaining about certain things. Here are our experiences: we were offered once to go to another resort for breakfast and a "tour" which we politely turned down and were never bothered about again. We were offered the additional charge wine list once, declined and were never asked again. We experienced none of the "hard sell" other reviewers have talked about. The grounds, pool areas, beach area, and our room were immaculate. Yes, there's seaweed but they do clean up as much as they can every morning. Every morning we saw workers cleaning, setting up, and sprucing up the outdoor areas. Everything in our room worked perfectly and the housekeepers did a great job. We asked for more bathroom supplies and had them within 5 minutes. Yes, sometimes our room wasn't cleaned until late afternoon, but we were busy doing other things so it didn't bother us. They even have good size bottles of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, sunscreen, and a tube of toothpaste in the rooms so you don't have to bring that with you. They do ask that you don't save pool chairs, but everyone does and they don't enforce it, so you learn quickly that if you want chairs in a certain pool area or on the beach make sure you put a towel and a magazine on them by 8:00 in the morning. That being said, since there are so many pools we really never had a problem finding a seat if others were filled up. The staff was wonderful, always accommodating, helpful, and fun. The food was very good, though we only ate at the outdoor restaurant as, being from Wisconsin, we will not be able to dine outside for the next 9 months. But they changed it up so we had seafood one night, Italian another, and steakhouse the third. Breakfast buffet is huge; I can't imagine any breakfast option they didn't have. Outdoor grill for lunch had many options and was delicious. Drinks were good, not strong but you could ask them to pour a double if you wanted it stronger. They had music in the bar and a different show in the theater every night, along with the NFL games and a movie night, but if you are looking for a lot of night life this is probably not the place for you. Things were pretty quiet by 11:00, which was ok with us. Now for the few things that kept me from giving this an excellent rating, keeping in mind these sound like "first world problems". You do get a cool cloth and champagne at check-in, but the lobby area is somewhat underwhelming. All the furniture in the lobby and lobby bar area needs updating; it's not dirty but does look very tired. We had upgraded to an ocean view suite, but what we basically had was an ocean glimpse, as you could see slice of the ocean past a pool, grassy area, and in between two buildings. I guess we thought we'd be able to see more ocean than that for the upgrade price we paid. There did not seem to be a lot of activities going on during the day and only once did I see someone manning the place on the beach where you could get water sport equipment. They do list daily activities on a board but sometimes you had to hunt to find them. The pools are open until 8, but after the pool bars close at 5 there is no one in the pools. That being said, there were times we were going to go swimming after 5 but could not get any pool towels as that area closes along with the bars. I think they should have pool towels available until the pools close so you don't have to use your cold, wet towel from earlier in the day. They also have a policy about dressing nicely for dinner, but it seemed to be enforced only for men. We saw men sent back to their rooms because they did not have on a collared shirt or long pants, but there were women at dinner dressed in workout clothing, leggings and t-shirts, and even one in cut off shorts, a football jersey, and rubber flip flops. If you are going to enforce the policy, it should be enforced for everyone, not just half the guests. All in all, we would give Silversands a B to B+.
