The large room was great. The balcony was large and had beautiful views. The spa treatment was some of the best I have experienced and they did not push product to you after the treatment. The Italian Restaurant food was delicious.

First, I agree with other reviewers - the employees are great. this "all inclusive" Unlimited Luxury" resort wants you to drink only in their bar, not your room... after the first night we upgraded to Preferred - partly because we were told we would have an access to an upgraded mini-bar and we enjoy having a night cap in the privacy of our own room. It was also partly because our room was in the back next to the employee entrance and the metal door clanged shut so often and loudly we repeatedly woke up. save your money - Preferred means nothing, You are offered a choice of either 2 rum OR tequila airplane bottles a night, no more. We asked for bourbon and vodka. If you finally get something else you will get ONLY 1 standard bottle of ONE liquor for the entire stay - in this case off label vodka. VERY disappointed, terrible customer service. oh, and the "complimentary golf" costs requires a golf cart fee and then club rental (I expected the club rental fee) and then transportation to and from the course back to the resort amounted to $155. After this I ran every time I heard "complimentary".

We enjoyed our stay at Secrets Silversands for 2 fabulous weeks from December 27th to January 10th, 2018. We were a party of 5 in total with myself, husband, son and parents; it was a family getaway for 2 weeks to get rejuvenated for the upcoming new year as we have hectic work schedules and to spend some quality time together as a family. Travelling this time of the year is a premium but the best time for us to travel and we have consistently travelled to the Myan Riviera for the past 20 years or so. We typically are attracted to the Secrets Resorts as we have always had great experiences at the Secrets! The food was great, rooms were exceptional (suite) with ocean view and the staff was friendly and very accommodating. We would go back again without hesitation :)

This was our 7th trip to SS and this time we were fortunate enough to bring our adult children for a wonderful vacation over New Years. Our rooms were preferred overlooking the ocean. There were a few days where we needed to call for towels, etc..but other than that our daily service, (including room service) was excellent. The food was better than it has been on any of our other trips. We enjoyed meeting Fernando, the day manager at Oceana, who provided us with wonderful lunches. Thank you to our server Luis who never disappoints with his service at Oceana. Sergio, the night manager at Oceana, went out of his way to provide beautiful dinners and service to our family. Eric was an excellent server and we were fortunate enough to have Eric for New Year's Eve. Mario Euan, thank you for your wonderful service and special drinks and providing us with a wonderful lunch at Oceana. You go above and beyond for us! Bordeaux and Portofino were excellent as well. Andres at Bordeaux, and Ernesto at Portofino, thank you for your service and making our dinners wonderful! Daniel, (Chino) thank you for the special dessert which is absolutley the best ever! A special thank you to Dennis and Vlad! You just keep getting better and we really appreciate your hard work and outstanding meals! We enjoyed our time at the pool, and my kids enjoyed the spirited volleyball games both in the pool and at the beach. Our servers, Monica, Karen, Delmy, Fransisco, and Angeles down at preferred club beach. The veranda bar at night was beautiful, especially with all of the Christmas lights around the property. Thank you to Jazmine and Karina for your friendly service to all of us! Our bartneders throughout our stay were so friendly and attentive. Russell, Alex, Ebert, Mario Euan, Oscar in the preferred club.We enjoyed our conversations with all of you! A shout out goes to Rodolfo who worked the barracuda bar on New Years Eve. He kept up with all the requests with a smile on his face! The New Years celebration put on by Silversands was something we will never forget, from the meal to the entertainment and especially the entire Entertainment team who is second to none!! Anna, Estefi, Mayra, Miguel, Charlie, and Dylan, thank you for your hard work all week and welcoming our kids to all of your activities! They had a great time and are already talking about returning to SS. Victor, Jose Fernandez, and Luis..thank you for your hospitality and excellent service. and to Jerica in the preferred.

My husband and I just returned from a 10 night stay at Secrets Silversands. We stayed in a Preferred Club Junior Suite King Bed Ocean Front Swim Out room, and it was worth every penny for us. I have a back injury and require a cane or wheelchair for mobility. One of the reasons we wanted this class of room was to ensure I didn't feel like I was stuck in our room if I had a terrible back pain day. The room was immaculate and huge. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel! I loved the shower as it had a marble/granite tile bench the length of the walk in shower which was perfect for me when I needed to sit. It also had the feature of either a rainfall shower head or a more traditional hand held shower head which was adjustable. There was also a large soaker tub in the room which we did not use. Insense is provided as the room can get a little musty smell if you have your patio door open and have the A/C off as we did every day. There was a safe, drawers and plenty of closet space. The mini bar was stocked every day with pop, juice, water and beer. Snacks of chocolate bars and pringles are also provided daily. There was a sitting area with a large couch and small table and chairs for when we ordered room service. The patio off the room was great, there was a bed to lay on as well as an outdoor patio set of 2 chairs and a table. Stepping down off the patio there were 2 chairs with thick cushions for lounging in the sun. And steps from there was the entrance to our pool, which although unheated, was great for us! And the best part of the room - the beach was directly in front of us accessible by a small set of steps a very short walk from the room! Every morning for breakfast we went to The World Cafe. I had fresh made crepes most mornings and my husband would have fresh made omelets or eggs of some variety. There was a ton of variety and everything was so good! Thank you so much to Isis the hostess for making sure we had a good accessible table and to Juan and Jose our favourite servers in the World Cafe who even pushed my wheelchair for me when it appeared my hands were full. They were fantastic every day and I miss their smiles! Every employee in this restaurant were helpful, friendly and pleasant eager to please. It really made the experience a 10/10. Every day we ordered room service for lunch and the food was as good as anything we could get in any of the restaurants! It was fantastic to not have to move from our patio/loungers to get lunch - total decadence! They provide a menu for you to order from but you can ask for anything from any of the restaurants! It usually took about 20-30 minutes to receive our orders and the server would come in and place everything out for us explaining what he was setting out to make sure it was what we ordered. Juan who brought out lunch at least 8 times out of 10 was polite and just like every other employee went out of his way to make sure things were perfect. Our favourite restaurants were Bordeaux and Portifino (French and Italian) with El Patio (Mexican) next. We did not eat at the Hibachi or seafood restaurants. Guillermo at Bordeaux and Juan at Portifino were the servers who made our meals special. The food was excellent and plentiful. Don't be afraid to order two or three appetizers if you want, or any combination of food. There is no rule that you can only order one app and one main and one dessert. Definitely try the tuna steak at Bordeaux and the shrimp ravioli at Portifino! After dinner go to Coco Cafe and get your tea, coffee, espresso, latte etc and also more dessert in case you didn't have enough at dinner. The bar staff were equally as friendly as all of the restaurant staff. On occasion they would run out of something which was a little disappointing but gave us a chance to try something new too. One really superb touch was the pool bar service. During the day and evening there were servers who bought our drinks all day. Monica, Amanda and Angelece were sweethearts and kept us well supplied in whatever we wanted to drink. We only saw 2 shows in the evening - The Elvis impersonator and the Rock Show. The Elvis impersonator was fun especially if you are familiar with Elvis. The Rock Show was an 80's hair band tribute band that were fantastic! The show could have been twice as long in my opinion and everyone else at the show that night too as they kept chanting "One more song! One more song!" There are 7 pools (I believe) on property. The main pool has all the activities and is where the action is if you want to party. The other pools are much quieter if you just want to relax. Every morning the staff put towels on every chair so there are no towel/chair games. There are signs everywhere telling people not to leave items on chairs for more than 20 minutes or they will be removed and taken to lost and found. We did see this happen one day when the resort was at capacity. From an accessibility point of view, this resort is excellent and most areas are easily accessible without assistance. At the end of the resort was a quasi accessible beach entrance but it was very bumpy and you would not get far. We did not see any accessible spots on the beach like there is a Secrets Huatulco, which was a little disappointing, but honestly with the room we had I didn't miss it much. However if we had a regular pool or tropical view room I would have noticed that for sure. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions at all!
