Hotel is advertised as ultimate luxury. Well, it's not! It's a dated 4 star hotel, clean and with very attentive staff but many services are not that amazing. It's in the middle of nowhere and the official pictures look amazing but they don't show reality. Here are details. One section of the hotel is near water treatment facility. It means there's constant smell of sewage. And when you open a tap in the morning, water smells of sulfur/sewage for 2-3 mins. I had my room changed and new room was much better but still everything was dated e.g. both bathroom sinks were cracked, toilet seat too small to fit toilet, loungers old and worn out, aircon didn't work and had to be fixed. There are several restaurants and a lot of food to choose from but it's really average. Lunch restaurant offers buffet - mountains of overlooked food or you can eat at a pool restaurant - it's all burgers, lasagnas, no good selection of seafood or light modern food. Dinner restaurants offer variety but again it's heavy old school food ( French restaurant, Italian restaurant, etc) and restaurant interiors are old any tacky. Mexican restaurant was pretty much the best choice. And room service is good - if you are a VIP guest the menu is great and food very good! Pool bars - they display all quality alcohol in bars but when I ordered gin&tonic, they quietly used local spirits. You need to SPECIFICALLY REQUEST quality spirits otherwise you end up with local substitutes. I really didn't like the local gin they had. Beach - tiny, with plenty of seaweed brought by the current and a tractor and guys with wheelbarrows and pitchforks trying to clear the mess. There are those huge sacks at the shore with stones/sand/who knows what to prevent beach erosion. Crowd - mostly older (60+) and groups. Few younger coupes. If you like sitting in a pool or hot tub with people constantly drinking booze and beer and having great time and loudly showing it - that's a place for you! If not, book a different hotel for a more classy and relaxing experience (Secret Hideaway Playacar is amazing and worth the money)

Husband and I just came back from a 5 nights at this beautiful Secrets Resort, Food at the FRENCH restaurant was AMAZING, as well as ROBERTO our waiter of 2 nights was exceptional. Italian Restaurant was very good, and the morning breakfast was delish!!! Myra, Carlos and ALL the Bartenders were Excellent!!! The only thing we would change is there is not enough lounge chairs at the main pool for all, we had to get there early for a spot or not get one, although we did see some increased enforcement on our last 2 days at the resort of not saving chairs. The staff was polite, welcoming and we had so much fun at the evening shows!!! Overall We had a great time and would highly recommend!!!

Beautiful, big room with ocean view but 24 room service no longer brings alcoholic drinks (no more Baileys in coffee). The staff is not as friendly as it used to be and the resort is showing some wear and tear (missing pool tiles, mildew at swim up bar, bad patch job around in-room jacuzzi).

My husband and I just returned from our second trip to Silversands and it will not be our last! We went there to celebrate a mini-honeymoon (we both had extra vacation days after the wedding and had scheduled a longer trip in a few weeks), so it was a no brainer to come back to this resort. We traveled here this at this time last year as well. Everything was great both times. We had chartered air through Apple Vacations, which was an extra bonus. We got to the resort very early, around 9 a.m., changed into our bathing suits and went to lunch. The check-in time isn't until 3 p.m., so after lunch we lounged by the pool, walked around the property and just killed time. We stayed in room 2321, a third level room with partial ocean view. We weren't planning on being in the room very much, so we weren't concerned about the view on this trip. We went to several restaurants (Seaside Grille, Oceana, the buffet a few times, frequented CoCo Cafe every morning for a cup of coffee and also ordered room service. Overall, the food was excellent. The last night at the resort, we had dinner on the beach and the menu was exquisite! Eating dinner and watching the sunset over the ocean was my favorite part of this trip. We did end up going through the presentation offered and signing up for the Unlimited Vacation Club, since we both love the AM Resorts brand. We took a trip to Secrets Maroma Beach and loved that property as well (will be booking a trip there soon). Overall, we were very happy at the attention to detail and the caring people who work at this resort. Sure, we could harp on the small details, but they didn't take away from the overall experience. We will be back at one of the Secrets locations in the next few months!

I would love to have stayed longer! The grounds are well kept, beautiful pools and large spacious rooms. Staff is extremely nice and welcoming. The beach is pristine and maintained. All the staff I met were approachable and looking to assist. The entertainment team is really energetic and nice. Emannuel from the entertainment team made my stay really enjoyable and memorable and my favorite team member. Beach volleyball by far the best! Omar, Anna. Estafany! Delmy by the pool kept my drinks full and was always around when they were getting low. Lovely place to be and I would love to go back! Kudos to secrets!
