We recently stayed 3 nights at Secrets Silversands, and we wish we could have stayed many more! The facilities are immaculate. The Spa services are to die for. The poolside servers, especially Delmy, were unbelievable. We hope to be back soon!

My wife and I went to this adults only resort for a family wedding. We were both really impressed with the quality of the food. There are numerous restaurants (French, Italian, pan Asian etc) and each has top quality food. Be sure to bring long pants for these specialty restaurants. The design of the resort is also modern and beautifully lit at night. There are so many pools I lost track of them all. Breakfast is a buffet but I was impressed with the real Honey dropping from honey comb for the freshly made waffles. Staff is friendly and helpful. I only wish Cancun had nicer water to swim in. There are lots of rocks and seaweed and no waves. So don't come here expecting to body surf or boogie board. There are kayaks and paddle boards available. The sand is very soft and the beach is a really nice place to sit all day watching the pelicans.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon for 6 nights and had a fantastic experience. We knew the rooms were nice from the picture but it was even better than we expected. The many restaurants and the outdoor barefoot grill were fantastic. You could stay on the resort and spend no additional money and have a fantastic time. They had a fun entertainment team and music at the pool with the swim up bar and then some more relaxed pools. Some of the additional highlights were the mexican night with a massive outdoor buffet and show as well as the NFL opening game they showed outdoors via projection. Thanks for the great experience!!!

We stayed 9 nights in a Swim Up Suite to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing time overall. Firstly I'll go through the positives: - The resort is lovely and there are a lot of staff working tirelessly to keep it pristine - On arrival in our room the bed was decorated with petals and we had an anniversary message and bottle of champagne on ice. - The staff are excellent, really polite and friendly. In particular we had great interactions with Anna-Banana who made our daily poker games fun, Mar who looked after us at the World Cafe, Delmy who kept us supplied with drinks by the pool and Em who kept us safe and entertained on our bike ride. - There is a lot of choice when it comes to food and it's mostly excellent, in particular the restaurants and buffet. - The all inclusive aspect is great as literally everything is included so you don't have to worry. - The pools are great with something for everyone, from busy fun pools with a swim-up bar, to quiet relaxing ones. Our swim-up room overlooked the smallest pool (which was still huge) and we practically had it to ourselves for the whole trip which was ideal for us. - The Spa itself was nice with a full spa circuit and hydrotherapy pool even though the treatments weren't great (see below). Negative points: - My wife and I paid $269 in total for 2 x 80 minute massages but we didn't feel they were great. We have had much better at other resorts and felt a little disappointed. - Service generally could be hit and miss, Some days housekeeping turned up in the morning and did a great job, other days we had to call and request the room to be cleaned as they hadn't turned up by 5pm. Some days there were towels by our smaller pool, most days there were not, so we had to go find some from the main pool. - Sometimes housekeeping would not replace all of our towels in the room so we had to call and ask for some to be sent. On our last night our pillowcases smelt really bad so we had to call them and get them to supply fresh ones (which was done promptly) - We had a sewage smell from our shower drain, we asked them to fix it a couple of times which they did but gave up in the end as it just kept coming back. - The room service food wasn't great. We had room service on 4 separate occasions (more fool us) and each time were disappointed with what we received. From rock hard tacos to soggy chips, it just wasn't enjoyable, which is a real shame as the food at all the restaurants was exceptional. In fairness the room service pizza was good. Overall it may seem like we have listed a lot of negative points but in reality they didn't detract from our stay which was most enjoyable. If we return to Cancun in the future we would consider this resort again.

Me and my wife booked secrets for our honeymoon after looking at all other options. After booking we continued to read reviews and look at online videos in our excited state. I must admit after reading some negative reviews we began to grow worried - you only get one honeymoon !! (Hopefully lol) - and I can confirm that we 100% disagree with any negative review! We arrived after a very long plane journey that was extended due to the hurricanes (we flew the long way round) and we were greeted with warm towels and champagne at the door along with a big smile and warm greeting. As we had a preferred room we were then taken to the preferred lounge to check in - where we had our first of many amazing cocktails and a tour of the grounds before being taken to our room. We had a swim up ocean front room and it was perfect - the view was incredible and we highly recommend a swim up room as we were guaranteed loungers with amazing views (as they were ours) and we could dip in and it at our leisure. Friendly Staff constantly over offering drinks - ours was Karen who was consistently friendly helpful and on hand to offer suggestions for cocktails. The grounds were impeccable and constantly being maintained in the mornings I.e gardening etc. If you take notice you will see there is always a manager or supervisor walking round inspecting that everything is looking good - no shortcuts or loose ends it simply looked glorious. Our swim out pool was the infinity pool and although slightly busier than others it was still paradise and quieter than the activity driven main pool. The food was consistently spectacular- breakfast and lunch we opted for the world cafe which was a buffet style food. - plenty on offer that changed. Recommend the omelettes. Waiters constantly on hand for drinks and a chat. Little details like resetting your napkins when you get up for another course etc are a nice touch - every waiter was of a high standard and very attentive Evening dinners were glorious - although the menus weren’t huge in each restaurant the food was certainly tasty and authentic. We loved the French and Mediterranean best but all were great We also did the romantic meal out on the gazebo which was amazing and a moment we will treasure for ever - that food was a step up again and the service was amazing - I can’t recommend this enough if you want an experience What really made this holiday special was the staff - I’m sure you could nit pick if your that way inclined but honestly what’s the point - I actually suffered and asthma attack whilst out there and ended up spending a day in hospital (trust me to get ill lol) - the doctor seeing us on site was friendly and helpful and had to visit three times a day. When returning from hospital the day manager came over in reception and said ‘how are you senior bowman’ - and moved our room away from the daily bbq due to smoke as you can imagine from a bbq - the concierge then helped order medication and get them to my room etc ( I was fine to enjoy the rest of holiday then lol) Little things like the dinner floor manager learning our names and greeting us with senior and senioress bowman ........ every staff member saying ola if they pass you on the grounds ...... the staff honestly are incredible. The drinks are not watered down as some have asked but bare in mind if your drinking cocktails with crushed ice then it may seem so - trust me I was drinking shorts with mixers in the evening and they are very generous. The cocktails are tasty and the Mrs enjoyed all of them as well as some spectacular shooters - I would say if your not sure ask as there is way more drinks on offer than on the bar menu I’ve also read people complain about the smell - we didn’t smell anything untoward - always smelt clean and fresh The beach has been mentioned a fair bit and to be fair it’s not the greatest - smallish beach that is really only good for sunbathing. There’s volley ball on one side for entertainment and the other side is a bit quieter for relaxing - on this side there was less sea weed but still we ventured into the water only once - but when your resort is this stunning you really won’t notice We were looking for a relaxing child free holiday that we wouldn’t forget and this resort delivered - again as amazing as the place was it was down to how great the staff were - take money for tips!!!
