What a fantastic vacation! Staff and amenities were excellent, everybody at Secrets the Vine genuinely appreciated you being there. We had our son (age 21) and daughter (age 18) with as we wanted to get away from the "kid" stuff. This is definitely a great place for couples, maybe a bit too upscale for our kids, but we still had a blast. Restaurants were good and not too difficult to get into for supper. Beach was awesome. Public beach so you had to give your room number every time you went to the beach and came back, but pretty simple. Wait staff takes care of you by the pool and on the beach. Only complaint were that the walls weren't very soundproof so you can hear people in the hall pretty easily. The Entertainment staff keeps you engaged as much as you want to be. Look for Raymundo, Berny, and Aline for sure, they are a blast! I am looking forward to going back, but maybe without the kids this time! Loved it!

This place is absolutely exceptional. Hotel is up to date with a modern look and the staff is very friendly. As you walk in, you're greeted with a towel to wipe off any sweat you may have from the heat and a glass of sparkling wine to cool you down. Check in was a breeze. Bellhop will show you around the room to get you accommodated with the light switches, TV, Wifi password, everything. The suite we got had an ocean view from the 16th floor which was amazing. A balcony to enjoy the view with a beer on the lounge chair was perfect. Or do what we did, ordered room service for breakfast one morning. Breakfast with a view of the Caribbean ocean. The suite was very spacious. Shower was like a walk in closet. Bed was fairly comfortable and the mini fridge was always stocked with Corona, Coke, Sprite, club soda. When we'd run out, just call room service and they'll bring it right up. My girlfriend and I loved the many choices we had to eat. Italian, Greek, steakhouse, sushi and Mexican (duh). And guys, there's a sports bar so you can catch a game or five if you wanna get away from the beach. Most of the food at the bar is what you'd expect. Sandwiches, burgers, wings, salad, etc. Sometimes I noticed a guy in the corner of the bar next to a computer and finally realized that he took wagers on the games, if you're into that. Seemed legit. Breakfast buffet has a fat spread. They had everything from an omelette bar to a Bloody Mary/Mimosa station. And you can poor it yourself, which I've never seen cause usually a bartender controls the alcohol in the states. Now let me get to the staff. They are all very nice and attentive. They greeted us every morning by calling us by our last name. If and when our drink was low by the pool and chillin' on the beach, they'd happily ask if you'd like another. At point I felt bad cause I was chugging them down, I just asked for a bucket of coronas and tequila problem!! I wish I could remember all of their names but Oliver at the pool, David at the sports bar, Jose our bellhop and greeter and Moises who was one of the activities organizer were really cool with us. There is more lady who was great with us as a bar server poolside and beach side. Her name escapes me but I think it was Carla. We went in October and the weather could not have been better. 82-90*F every day for us. One night of rain but we didn’t care. Would I recommend this place to anyone? YES!! Would I come back? Absolutely

In short this was by far the best experience we have ever had with an all inclusive resort. The food was absolutely incredible at all the restaurants and the staff was the most helpful, pleasant and professional we have ever experienced anywhere. We paid extra for the preferred package and that was well worth it especially if you are looking for a relaxing experience around the pool. The waiters and waitresses around the pool were so nice and always there to bring drinks and/or food from the bar and Olio's Mediterranean Restaurant, which are very close to the 12th floor preferred guests pool. Preferred guests have access to the 12th floor swimming pool that overlooks the 3 other pools on ground level as well as a direct view over the ocean. It was a much livelier and younger crowd around the ground level pools and on the beach. The only possible negative I can share about this resort is they do not have a lot of room to roam outside other than around the pools and the beach, but that is a minor issue given all the positives. For restaurants we ate at the Blue Water (Steak) 3 times. Their braised beef is amazing. We also had the filet and I had the salmon. All were excellent. Gabriel served us twice and he is outstanding. I wish I could remember the other young waiter's name as he was equally good. We had lasagna at Nebbiolo's Italian Restaurant and it was excellent. Their dinner includes an antipasto salad bar. We ate dinner at Dragon's Asian Restaurant twice. I enjoyed the Korean beef strips and chicken stir fry. My wife had pork loin and the Mongolian beef. All were excellent. We really liked the ambiance in this restaurant. We ate at the Mexican Restaurant for dinner one evening. My wife's choice of the chicken was outstanding. The turkey was good, but not as flavorful as the chicken. The Market Cafe has an outstanding breakfast and lunch buffet. The omelets are fantastic in the morning. They have a great variety for lunch including fresh greens and veggies for salads. The roasted chicken slices are great on their salads. We had salmon one day at their buffet and it was outstanding. All of the restaurants offer a wide array of appetizers and desserts. All were outstanding that we tried. Finally I need to make sure I thank Luis and Adriana, who were our butlers on the 22nd floor. They were always there and very helpful. I could go on and on, but again this was by far the best vacation experience we have ever had.

It is a nice hotel in a nice location. The beach is outstanding and all the food is great. However, you need to be aware of the timeshare scam they promote in this hotel. They show unbelievably good deals for timeshares and if you subscribe to it, you will see that it all was lies and prices are not any close to what they have promised. Do not go to any of these timeshares meetings and do not subscribe to them! Is it a total scam! I do not understand how a luxury hotel like this can allow it!

We stayed at Secrets The Vine from late December to mid January 2018 and had a fantastic time. We wanted a relaxing, quieter beach holiday and this is what we mostly got. Would highly recommend staying in the Preferred Club rooms which are higher up and quieter (we were on the 25th floor on the north side and had no noise from the AC units down below as reported by others) The room was very clean and well appointed and house keeping did a very good job keeping it that way. We had access to the preferred pool which was quieter than the main pool. All the staff were very attentive and pleasant especially Erik and Carla at the preferred pool, and the ladies at the 24hr coffee bar were always smiling. Unlike others, we had no problem with staff pestering us about taking the timeshare tour nor asking us to buy bottles of wine. We went down for dinner between 7.30 & 8pm and never had to wait for a table. The food was fantastic - always well presented and tasted great. Favourite places to eat were all three restaurants on the 12th floor along with Dragons on the ground floor. The hotel did an excellent job on NYE with a very nice gala dinner which we paid extra for and then acrobats and fireworks by the pool. We had a very enjoyable night. The only thing that slightly soured our stay was that during the second week, the clientel seemed to change (a large convention descended on the hotel) with more drunken, rude and inconsiderate behaviour happening around the hotel. That being said though, we found Secrets The Vine to be a great hotel, lovely well appointed rooms, fantastic restaurants and food and excellent staff!
