Just got back from a 5 day trip with my wife and we still love Secrets the Vine. We first visited two years ago and we knew we had to come back again. One thing this hotel cannot be beat on is their quality of entertainment. In the four nites we were their, they had a burlesque show outside, a mentalist who was incredible, a magician, a few live bands, live d.j's, and a hypnotist who was a crowd favorite. Their fine dining dinner restaurants are incredible comparable to 5 star NYC restaurants. Especially the Red Dragon. Their wait staff and staff in general are always welcoming and polite. One thing that was kinda annoying was the wait on getting food if you order pool side or beach side. One afternoon waited a full 45 minutes and still never got my order so we just went inside to get room service. All in all if you're looking for a nice adults only resort you will not be let down with Secrets the Vine. Also it's beach is one of the best in Cancun. Cleanly kept and water magnificent

This is my first time at this hotel, is a hotel for adults. This is also all inclusive hotel but a difference with others is that you can't be wearing any as a brazalete. The food is great, restaurants fantastic they only change you for special bottle of wines. Another difference from others all inclusive is the high quality beers, Liquor and food. I would grade this as perfect but it is kind of noisy in the mornings. The cleaning personal starts very early they should be considering that guest just want to rest.

The service at this resort was amazing! The whole staff was incredible especially our butler, Alex. Alex took care of all our needs & treated us like family. We were celebrating our anniversary & it seemed like everyone knew it. Everywhere we turned someone was wishing us a happy anniversary. The view from our room was amazing! We could see the ocean & the lagoon. And, the beach along the resort was so clean & beautiful. We will definitely be back!

This was my first visit to an all-inclusive and it exceeded my expectations! I have high standards and this like-new property surpassed them. We were welcomed by staff with champagne and cool towels. The amount of friendly staff was amazing. They were always asking how they could help. As a young-at-heart senior single, I was concerned that it was for honeymooners only. The website was somewhat misleading. Not so! Many people were celebrating occasions: lots of anniversaries and for me a birthday. I had a “Happy Birthday” banner on the door of my room and an arrangement of exotic flowers inside. When I told Giovanni, the manager of the Italian restaurant, it was my birthday and he told me it was his too, we became fast friends! In addition to a personalized dessert plate with a selection of delicious delicacies, he placed a large sombrero on my head while the staff serenaded me. We stayed in touch during my entire stay and he made certain my dining experiences were all positive. Will I get him in trouble by saying on my last dinner, the chef made a special dinner and dessert for me?? I’ll never forget him!! The daily paper listed the activities for the coming day: more than one could do. Every night had a theme. My favorite was the Academy Awards night. I passed the “Hollywood” sign, walked the avenue of stars, down a red carpet, where I was presented with an “Oscar,” and walked up the stairs into the room where a giant screen displayed the live Oscar ceremonies. Such fun!! While many guests were busy seeing the sights, I had gone for R and R. I chose to work on my tan, swim in all of the 3 pools, dance many afternoons with the staff, eat and eat (there was food everywhere), and make friends with guests from all over the world. I hope I do not forget names of the amazing people who made my stay memorable. In addition to Giovanni and his staff (Jessica the hostess with the mostest and Georg, the waiter), Eduardo the manager of the Asian restaurant vied for first with Giovanni in pleasing me The entertainment staff was wonderful. My dance partners, Lito and Francesca, and Vashti highlighted my experience. And what would a guest do without a concierge? Yuki was amazing! There was no question she could not answer. The resort is a short 15-20 minute drive from the airport. We had a rocky start. First, the ride in a decrepit, private GoGo van was harrowing-do not use them-but they sent a much better one for the return trip. While the Vine is a high rise property as part of a Miami-like strip of hotels, once inside it was an oasis. Perhaps it was a combination of a high season full house and travel agent miscommunication, our first room had serious problems: mechanical and noise. A room change made all the difference! Ignore the weather forecasts. Rain was predicted daily. Cumulus clouds floated in the skies daily! I’d go back in a heartbeat!

Everything about this hotel is high end and very nice. Everyone who works there seems to enjoy their jobs and treats the customers well. We had only 2 complaints - the butler service was spotty at best. We have been to other Secrets properties and the butlers gave us a small cell phone and we could call them directly from the beach or wherever for whatever we needed. At The Vine, if our butler was not at their desk when we called, the phone would ring several times and then go to what sounded like a voicemail box but those messages were not returned so maybe that wasn't the butler's voicemail. In fact, we wanted to check out with and tip our butler, but on the day of our departure (we left at 10:00 AM) the desk was empty from 9-10 when we were checking and we had to leave so we never saw Vladimir or Laura again. The second complaint is the selling of vacation club memberships to what seemed like everyone in the hotel. We are Unlimited Vacation Club members so we understand, and bought in to the program, however when we would be at breakfast in the morning, we were usually surrounded by sales pitches going on to other guests. On one morning, there were 9 different groups in the restaurant and we were the only ones that didn't have brochures and a sales pitch going on in. As I said, we understand and in fact purchased the membership a couple years ago, but it seems a little tacky to be selling in such an obvious way in front of other guests, especially considering everything else is so upscale and thought out at The Vine. None of these complaints are deal breakers and we will be back, but certainly there is room for improvement on an already great hotel.
