Stayed here for a week with my partner from 4 Sep 17. This is a real 5 star hotel. We paid an extra £100 each for preferred club status which gave us additional benefits including personal butler, private check in, private pool for members, private lounge for members, enhanced mini bar an 24 hour room service. I think the additional cost is worth it. We were made to feel very welcome and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. All seven restaurants were excellent an no booking is necessary. At worse you are given a pager that goes off when your table is ready. The food was top notch in all. This is an adults only hotel if that suits you. It is very clean and lavishly furnished as you would expect. There are numerous bars with different themes. Drinks are all top shelf and service at the bars is speedy (no Irish whiskey though which is my tipple). Pool and beach are excellent with waiter service throughout. Our room was fantastic. Beautiful sea and lagoon view. Very well equipped with free mini bar, nespresso machine and tablet computer as well as all appliances you would expect. If you smoke the only place in the hotel you can smoke is in one pool bar and the beach. All other areas are smoke free. Overall we felt that we were in the lap of luxury the whole time. The only issue I had was we were bombarded by some waiters to upgrade to a 'personal dining experience'. Basically a hard sell for you to purchase wine from the wine list. The wine list is mental price wise. I just felt that it was all a bit unnecessary and it did hack me off slightly. Bring some small denomination dollars for tips. A few dollars is not expected but certainly appreciated. Would definitely go back to this hotel or any others in the group.

Just returned from a 6 night stay at Secrets the Vine in Cancun. I have to say I expected a lot more going into this resort based on the reviews here. I have heard from travel agents and peers that Secrets is a top all inclusive resort offering nothing but luxury, and after coming home, I would say it was equal to all the other all-inclusives I have been to. Not any better, not any worse. Check in was very easy- our room was ready right away which was nice after being on the plane for 5 hours! The room was very small. We had booked a deluxe junior suite, and it was smaller then the average regular hotel room. Also, we had a very very limited ocean view even though the description stated otherwise. Restaurants were decent. Olio is the best restaurant there, we ended up dining there 3 nights. Food was very very tasty there. The remaining restaurants gave very small portions. Room service (which is always my favorite part of being in a hotel room) had VERY limited options. Pool area is very nice! Many seats, so we never had to worry about people saving seats in the morning. Lots of options with 3 different pools. Service at the pool was great, our waiter came around every 30 minutes to bring us new drinks. Beach area was not so good. Soooo many men trying to sell things that it actually was the reason I didn't go to the beach for 6 days. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers.

Our third stay at Secrets The Vine was still excellent. My husband's only negative was he wishes they would stock a good single malt Scotch like Glenlivet. My only advice or wish is that they continue to update the furniture and decor as it gets worn. The staff, the service, the food, the entertainment both in-house and those performers who are brought into the hotel for entertainment were all excellent. Love the a/c common areas, restaurants, and bars, and it worked well in our room as well. We'll be going back again.

Our stay at Secrets was beyond amazing. I cannot complement the hotel staff enough on their superb hospitality. This was our first trip to Mexico, and we felt completely safe staying in this resort. I've seen a few people leave reviews about how they were disappointed that they couldn't check into their room until 3pm. This is how it is at just about every single hotel and honestly it is not a big deal. We arrived to the hotel early at 10am and Orlando at reception was wonderful and got us all checked in and settled, and arranged to have our luggage held for us until our room was ready. We changed into our swim suits and immediately were able to use anything we wanted at the hotel. We indulged in a wonderful lunch at Market Cafe and hit the pool for some drinks and relaxation. We ended up having so much fun by the pool that we weren't even concerned with getting to our room, however, they ended up having it all ready for us ahead of schedule by 1pm. We spent a couple of our days lounging by the pool. Alberto took care of us and was on top of everything, making every pool day so much fun. We love Alberto!!! My boyfriend isn't much of a relaxation type of person and likes to keep busy, so I was worried that after a few days of lounging by the pool he might get sick of it. However, Secrets always has so much going on and they have entertainment and performers by the pool each afternoon that were so much fun to watch and we never got bored! Each day, they have entertainment people that will go around the pool to announce when there are games going on such as pool volleyball, beach volleyball, water aerobics, etc. We played pool volleyball a few times and it was so much fun and was a great way to meet others and be social. Raymundo from entertainment was always a blast to have on our team! Otherwise, if you are in the mood to just have some quiet time and relax, the lap pool is the perfect place to hangout. The restaurants at Secrets are all delicious, and we were able to try them all. Half Times is the most casual place and is themed like an American Sports bar. They have a ton of TVs with any game on that you would like to watch, and have delicious bar food. If you are exhausted and feel like having a casual night, this is the perfect place to go. Giovanni was our all time favorite bartender and gave us FABULOUS service. He was so much fun to talk to and made us some excellent beer cocktails. We ended up going there a few times just to hangout and grab some drinks from Giovanni and play some pool before we would go out to dinner. Out of all of the "nicer" restaurants, Dragons was our favorite by far; they have delicious sushi! There are two servers there named Juan that were our favorites and they gave us absolutely wonderful service. The Italian restaurant was also very good - Robert was our server and gave me recommendations as far as wine, dinner, and dessert and I loved them all. A few times we visited the Vine Bazaar bar. If you have the pleasure of having Xavier as your bartender while at this bar, make sure to order a mojito. He makes the best ones! I literally could go on and on about the incredible experience and wonderful service we got during our stay at Secrets. We will definitely be returning. I already miss it and want to go back! Secrets Cancun is the definition of what an amazing all inclusive hotel should be!!
