Secrets The Vine Cancun

The entrance to the hotel is nice. We reserved a preferred room Junior suite. One would think the preferred check in lounge would be better than the regular check in lobby. The preferred lounge check in area is a disaster. You step off the elevator to tables, a bartender and a lackluster selection of appetizers. 2 desks to check in preferred arrivals. All 6 tables were full so they offered to set us on the balcony until the current guests were done. 35 minutes later we walk back in. A second concierge was checking in people. They sat us at a table and said we were next. 20 minutes later it was our turn. An hour to get checked in when the “regular” concierge in lobby was empty. After check in we were told our room was on 21. The same level as check in and you exit the elevator to food & people. I requested a different floor as I did not want to deal with food, people & check ins every time I get on and off the elevator. They did change us floors. Our room was on the Sandos side. Every night until 9:30p or 10p loud music clear as day in our room. The windows are old. We could sing along to the music. Very annoying. The food was underwhelming. They wanted $60/pp to upgrade to lobster tail dinners. Surf and turn was filet and shrimp. The Mexican dinner at Market underwhelming. Tacos and enchiladas. Asian selection terrible. Beach is small and next to public access so people come, set up pop ups and play music. Beach chairs old and need upgraded. Pools show slot of wear and need repair. Loud music around the pool 65% of the time. The cabanas pool and beach are both extra charges. Stopped at the sports bar to order dessert none of the other restaurants offer, it took over an hour to get a cheesecake and apple pie slice. Both were lackluster. The Market buffet for breakfast and lunch were bearable. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. The finishes are sloppy. We won’t be back. We have stayed at a 5 star hotel all inclusive and Vines isn’t even close. Iberostar showed us quality. We did not find anything romantic about this hotel stay. The one bright spot was the mentalist entertainment in the bar. That guy was definitely interesting. He was the best experience for entertainment. The preferred pool is also a joke. Limited chairs, no privacy or shade. The whole hotel layout/design is underwhelming. For what we paid, it was not worth it. Room service food was also a positive. We had an anniversary dinner, and ordered 2 times. You can’t get alcohol at breakfast (bloody Mary or mimosas). They changed rules and do not start serving until 10a.

This place need more attention need a make over some areas are old and damaged for a secrets standards and adults only the beach not the great

Great place. My favorite restaurant was Nebbiolo. The Diavola pizza made by Emiliano is amazing. Ariana and Michelle were great.

Fantastic experience here at Secrets the Vine. The food was always great, at every restaurant. The service was exceptional and prompt, they took the time to understand what you need and always provided a solution. Miguel from entertainment stood out to us by his friendly interactions and energetic personality. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
