My husband and I visited Secrets The Vine for an extended weekend (5 days and 4 nights) to celebrate our anniversary in October 2017. We never left the resort. We purchased our trip through Costco Travel and stayed in a Preferred Club Junior Suite with Ocean View room. Overall Absolutely loved this place. Perfect for relaxing at the beach, by the pool, or in your room. The resort is clean and modern. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is good and the service is outstanding. We would return. Room Our room (Junior Suite with Ocean View Preferred Club) had a great view and plenty of space and very modern features. You get a tablet that has details about everything happening at the resort that day, including ways to order room service and read the newspaper. Turn down service is standard and they kept the snacks in the mini-bar full. The Wifi was plenty fast and the TV had lots of options for regular cable or streaming. On our anniversary day, the staff decorated our room with rose petals and put a sign on our door wishing us Happy Anniversary--that was nice a touch. Staff Every staff member was friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We had a butler (Eduardo) and he was very helpful in explaining the resort and the services we received as part of our Preferred Club access. Whether at a bar, a restaurant, or by the pool/beach, there was always someone there to ask us if we needed anything. Dining We visited 4 of the 6 restaurants and only had to wait once (for no more than 5 minutes for a breakfast table). The food was good; we liked Dragons the best. Note: the portions at the restaurants are kind of small so order appetizers and salads to go with your main meal. Dinner: We showed up to dinner right when the restaurants open (at 6:30pm) and never had to wait for a table. During the day someone will probably stop by your beach chair to ask if you want a special reservation for dinner at certain premium areas in the resort, but you have to pay more. We politely declined and never got any hassle about it. Also, we enjoyed our table locations each night. Some of the restaurants require pants for the men and no flip flops for women, and some people really dressed up for dinner. Lunch: 3 days in a row we ate at the Barefoot Grill and it was perfect for a quick and easy burger or hotdog, served buffet style. We would grab our food and then go sit at one of the lounge chairs to watch a football game or sit at the bar prior to returning to our lounge chairs by the beach or pool. Breakfast: We ate at Market Cafe most mornings. It probably has the best variety of food (something for every diet) of any buffet I've seen. We ordered breakfast in the room one morning and that was fun--we felt like royalty. Preferred Club The Club gives you access to the 12th floor pool (and bar) and some appetizers/snacks on the 21st floor and a restaurant. The 12th floor pool was worth the extra money to us because it is laid back and quiet. The main pools on the first level have a lot of activity and we were interested in a more relaxed environment. Beach The beach is beautiful and the water was an amazing color of blue. Get down to the beach before 10am to get prime location for your chairs and umbrella. The staff will help you find a spot and set up your chairs and umbrella. The beach in front of the resort chairs seems to be open to anyone. As a result, there were some families from the adjacent Hard Rock hotel that wandered over to our beach area. It wasn't a big deal, but that was the only time we saw kids throughout the entire trip. Negatives The only negative comments we have are related to the fact the resort is next to the Hard Rock Resort. The Hard Rock had some late parties with loud music that went until about 10pm. Although, had our room not faced the Hard Rock, I am not sure we would have noticed. Other Try to bring small bills for tipping staff. Tipping is not required but seemed like the right thing to do and the staff appreciated it.

We were there 10/11/17-10/16/17 for our anniversary. We were in room 1616. Try to get a room on the Hard Rock side of the building. However, the late/hot sun is on that side in afternoon and would probably make sitting out on the balcony very hot. We enjoyed our stay and found the property to be very nice and modern. There are plenty of staff everywhere and always willing to help with anything. The pools were nice and just the right temperature. The beach was great and there weren't that many vendors, which weren't very push anyway. Here is our pros/cons. Pros: Friendly staff Decent room service Good location in the hotel zone Plenty of bars (if that is important) Good pools Gym, amazing view Weather (at least for our trip) Cons: Only average food, never wow'd Bad odor in water at property - especially in the shower?? Bed was too soft (our preference, we know) Thin walls (easy to hear whatever conversation/music/activity in room next door) Loud A/C units on the ground on The Sandos resort side of building Small mini fridge that stocked with 4 coronitas, water, a couple sodas each day - We believe all inclusive hotels should have a mini fridge option of 1. normal 2. No alcohol or 3. alcohol and fill the fridge accordingly. With this said and our experience, this would be one of the first all inclusive resorts we would go back to.

We stayed at Secrets the Vine in Cancun for 8 days in October 2017. We just got back. The resort is amazing! Very clean and great service. The food is great. We would love to visit again. Our only negative comment is that the tap water in Cancun smells. That is not the resorts fault but it's kind of gross. Lol Everything else was perfect!

There are not enough words in the English language to emphasize how wonderful this resort experience was for us. Our 1st stay at an all inclusive and it will certainly not be our last! The entertainment was pitched just right for an adults only resort; Memphis Hernandez to crooner; ABBA review; Divos 3 tenors.... so enjoyable! The day drinking is legendary; but we always felt safe; lots of friendly staff. -if you tip them, they will treat you right! -they do not ask for the tips; but that all work to earn it, so you are grateful for the chance to thank them for great service. There is a time-share-like presentation that could be avoided, so unless you want to buy in: skip it. There is pressure to buy bottles of wine; only do so if you feel the need. We were celebrating 20 years of marriage, so did purchase the Romantic Dinner on the Beach with a nice bottle of sparkling wine. This was a great value fo is. The wait staff and manager from Nebbiolo (the Italian restaurant) showed us such and extra level of service and luxury, we will forever be impressed! Thank you Cesar, Jose, and Jaime from Nebbiolo. The entertainment staff we so open and personable we felt we had friends at the resort. We stayed in the honeymoon suite oven front- the finest room we have ever stayed in. The butlers are always trying to help- even when we didn’t need anything. The Spa is world class, and costs reflect that. We really never needed to leave the resort (we did do the excursion to Isla Mujeres - glad we did) The beach and climate in Cancun are reasons to go, but the resort is why I would return!

I visited this hotel a week ago for a wedding. I was only there for two days due to the high cost to stay there approx $440 usd per night. The hotel is a high rise with 19 floors nice decor everything looked clean, my room was supposed to be an ocean view however directly in front of me was another building I had to look to the left or the right to see water. The bathroom which is all frosted glass takes up most of the room there are separate sinks which are open view. I wasn’t crazy about the layout an it was not the paradise I was expecting for the money we spent, the bed was okay and the pillow only two for a king bed was flat not comfortable at all. The buffet restaurant Called Marketplace has a very small selection of food I was not impressed at lunch or breakfast. There is a restaurant Bluewater we had a group dinner and it was tasty especially the appetizers, my main course was the salmon it was bland and not even grilled I sent it back. The kind waiter asked if I wanted something else, although I was full from the appetizers ordered the braised short rib, it was tender and delicious. Although I am accustomed to large resorts it was a pleasure to sit in the huge lobby with air conditioning since it was so hot and humid outside. The Piano bar had a Dj who was decent people were enjoying themselves. The staff is very attentive and polite and this adults only hotel is gay friendly in case anyone is interested.
