We visited Secrets for our 32nd Birthday trip, in which myself and my partner share a birthday in the same week, so this was a special occasion for us....unfortunately it wasn't very special. I will try and be as fair as possible, as this hotel wasn't a disaster, but it left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths. Facilities: (5/5) I was pleasantly satisfied with the facilities. They have a variety of areas for you to explore based on what you are in the mood for. Lots of choice for food, drinks, activities, the gym or the spa - for this you will not be disappoint. We found there was always a sun bed available and a bar not too far away for drinks. Room:(4/5) We booked the preferred option, which has a few nicer extra's and I would say for the size of the room alone, it was worth it. Very spacious room, huge shower, bed and balcony. The only thing that let down the room was the poor mini bar, I would expect better, especially in the supposed Preferred room option. Restaurants/Food (2/5) This is where they really let themselves down. The food is not up to scratch and is certainly not 5*. Some meals we couldn't even finish, it was so bad. The room service food, was terrible - more often than not, didn't even look like the picture. Watered down juices and a surcharge for wine if you wanted anything except Merlot or SB - how is that All Inclusive? Lack of veg options for breakfasts! Waiting times for the restaurants and you cannot pre-book, what is the point. You get all dressed up and go down for dinner only to be told, its a 30min wait, which could be avoided if you could pre-book. What makes it worse is the fact there are always empty tables. Which they save for people that are willing to pay for wine! They also have a very silly dress code policy for Men, who must wear trousers. I would be fine with this, if we were in a cold country, but it was 28C, who packs that many trousers for a beach holiday. Again I would understand if you had A) pre-warned people so they could pack accordingly or B) Permitted smart shorts as opposed to swimming trunks, which you can understand. This is a very poor policy because the quality of food you serve, does not match up to the perceived atmosphere you are trying to create. No Straws? I appreciate Secrets wanting to be an eco-friendly resort, but do not flip flop on your policy. They would give out straws sometimes and other times quote this policy - either do it or dont do it. Also - what happened to paper straws? Service (3/5): There was always someone on hand, to help, which was quite nice - when they were not trying to upsell you on something. Its obvious the workers are told to try and upsell because they are always trying to sell you something. Whether its massage oil halfway through a massage!!, champagne, premium wine, spa treatments or a time share, it never stops! This is the last thing you want, when you are on holiday and you just want to enjoy it, especially in a supposed ALL INCLUSIVE. I will say that the entertainment team were excellent, they provided so much fun through Beach Volley Ball - keep it up guys! Our butler on our floor Jorge was also exceptional and always around to help. He helped to arrange a reservation for us on my partners birthday and also birthday cakes delivered to the room. Thank you Jorge. Summary (3/5): All in all, they just need to fix a few things, that seem to be more about policy. Its obvious its all about profit margin for this hotel, which is disappointing. We won't be returning or staying in any other AM Resorts. Not a 5* hotel and if you lower your expectations and come prepared, you may well have a good time.

This hotel was stunning. The lobby, the restaurants, the rooms, the pools, everything was so nice. We really enjoyed the friendly staff, who were also quick to help or get you whatever you wanted. Nothing was a problem. The entertainment staff was a joy, especially Valeria. She went out of her way to deliver a fun Valentine's certificate and printed us a few photos that were taken of us on the beach.
The food was also delicious with lots of variety. We ate in all the restaurants and can honestly say they were all fabulous.
The only critic I would have is there should be a few more inclusive choices for red wine. The two offered as house wines were okay but I would have liked some variety without having to pay for an overpriced bottle of wine.

As soon as you arrive to the resort the service begins immediately. They take your bags, provide complimentary glasses of champagne, offer upgrades and more. Throughout the stay you are made to feel at home and are greeted with the most respect from sunrise to after hours. There are so many bars and restaurants to explore we didn’t even get to all of them over the course of our 5 day stay. The resort is cleaned frequently and the room service is commendable as well. The balcony view had to be my favorite of it all because we were able to see the sunrise every morning with a perfect ocean view. The drinks were truly unlimited and the food was tasty for an all inclusive. Honestly, the best advice i have for this resort is to the stay the same because we will be back and hopefully sooner than later. I also want to mention a few of the names that made our stay totally exceed our expectations : Alfonso and Martin. These two men were always ready at our time of need and made the stay even more enjoyable.

What a fantastic vacation! Staff and amenities were excellent, everybody at Secrets the Vine genuinely appreciated you being there. We had our son (age 21) and daughter (age 18) with as we wanted to get away from the "kid" stuff. This is definitely a great place for couples, maybe a bit too upscale for our kids, but we still had a blast. Restaurants were good and not too difficult to get into for supper. Beach was awesome. Public beach so you had to give your room number every time you went to the beach and came back, but pretty simple. Wait staff takes care of you by the pool and on the beach. Only complaint were that the walls weren't very soundproof so you can hear people in the hall pretty easily. The Entertainment staff keeps you engaged as much as you want to be. Look for Raymundo, Berny, and Aline for sure, they are a blast! I am looking forward to going back, but maybe without the kids this time! Loved it!

This place is absolutely exceptional. Hotel is up to date with a modern look and the staff is very friendly. As you walk in, you're greeted with a towel to wipe off any sweat you may have from the heat and a glass of sparkling wine to cool you down. Check in was a breeze. Bellhop will show you around the room to get you accommodated with the light switches, TV, Wifi password, everything. The suite we got had an ocean view from the 16th floor which was amazing. A balcony to enjoy the view with a beer on the lounge chair was perfect. Or do what we did, ordered room service for breakfast one morning. Breakfast with a view of the Caribbean ocean. The suite was very spacious. Shower was like a walk in closet. Bed was fairly comfortable and the mini fridge was always stocked with Corona, Coke, Sprite, club soda. When we'd run out, just call room service and they'll bring it right up. My girlfriend and I loved the many choices we had to eat. Italian, Greek, steakhouse, sushi and Mexican (duh). And guys, there's a sports bar so you can catch a game or five if you wanna get away from the beach. Most of the food at the bar is what you'd expect. Sandwiches, burgers, wings, salad, etc. Sometimes I noticed a guy in the corner of the bar next to a computer and finally realized that he took wagers on the games, if you're into that. Seemed legit. Breakfast buffet has a fat spread. They had everything from an omelette bar to a Bloody Mary/Mimosa station. And you can poor it yourself, which I've never seen cause usually a bartender controls the alcohol in the states. Now let me get to the staff. They are all very nice and attentive. They greeted us every morning by calling us by our last name. If and when our drink was low by the pool and chillin' on the beach, they'd happily ask if you'd like another. At point I felt bad cause I was chugging them down, I just asked for a bucket of coronas and tequila problem!! I wish I could remember all of their names but Oliver at the pool, David at the sports bar, Jose our bellhop and greeter and Moises who was one of the activities organizer were really cool with us. There is more lady who was great with us as a bar server poolside and beach side. Her name escapes me but I think it was Carla. We went in October and the weather could not have been better. 82-90*F every day for us. One night of rain but we didn’t care. Would I recommend this place to anyone? YES!! Would I come back? Absolutely
