Returned to Secrets the Vine May 2017 after first visit in June 2016. LOVED IT. AGAIN!!! Some thoughts.... Property. Still well maintained with the daily efforts of their outstanding staff. These folks are up early, cleaning the pools, firing up the stoves and grills, stocking the bars, cleaning the gym, preparing events/weddings/luncheons. I saw them rappelling off the roof this time to clean the windows. I saw them rake the beach and bury the sea weed. I saw them painting both inside and outside. The rooms are outstanding and comfortable. The bed and linens superior. Cuisine and Bars- Outstanding. You enjoy a greater selection of spirits if you stay in preferred club. However, you need to remind the staff every time that you are in a preferred club room. For that matter, you seem to have to state your name and room at every restaurant and access to the beach. Not every item on the menus are home runs, but you quickly learn which ones are. Don't see it on the menu? Ask. They bend over backwards to accommodate you and seem physically ill if they fail to do so. I suspect a high order of competition for the opportunity to work there. The staff work HARD. Staff- I cannot stress enough how wonderful and diligent the staff are at Secrets the Vine. I was thrilled to see a substantial amount of my favorite staff members from our first visit still working there. I made an effort to write down as many names as possible of our regular staff members. Sadly, this will give no name recognition to all those staff members working behind the scenes; porters, plant maintenance, maids, laundry, etc. All the hostesses were always charming and polite. All the waiters and Bartenders always kind and welcoming. The entertainment staff was exceptional. The Spa and Gym staff on point. The Kitchen staff bent over backwards for us. With all that in mind, be sure to bring several hundred dollars in $1 and $5 denominations. I have no idea what they get paid. I doubt it compares to any similar wage in North America or Europe. But, I do know they are putting forth a great effort to provide great service. The waiters will be fawning over you for 1-2 hours at a time, and the drunk bachelorette party, and the wedding party, and the Korean tourists. Some patrons will tip poorly or not at all, an obvious indication of some one that never worked in service. Tip everybody and don't forget to tip the Entertainment staff like I did. Now I feel terrible about it. Booking. Lots of ways to book this hotel. Comparison shop. I booked through an agent the first time and booked directly with Secrets the second time. You can get AAA discounts if you ask for them. "Membership". NO idea what that is all about. They have sales folks in the lobby that will attempt to sit you down and sell you a membership. My guess is it is a time share opportunity of sorts. I don't care. I don't want it. They have a brief sales pitch or a lengthy one. They obfuscate the issue with chatter about discounts on activities and such. If you like that stuff, maybe you will enjoy the pitch. I don't. I avoided it this year, but the first time I sat down for 10 minutes and said no thank you a lot. Spa. Deal directly with spa staff when negotiating your spa treatments. The sales pitch guys have coupons for massages et al, but the Spa folk will quickly dash those hopes and present an entirely different price list. Just haggle out a deal with the Spa staff and enjoy your self. Entertainment. I never left the resort either time. They have games and activities all day and night. NO kids, thank God. Secret gem was a kitchen tour. NO charge. They took a small group of us into the dedicated convention hall kitchen and the Sous chef, the assistant pastry chef, the executive chef, a Jr chef, and the butcher all taught us how to make a 3 course meal, Q& A, wine, and then we ate it. I would have paid for it as they went out of their way to entertain us. Turns out they make EVERYTHING in house. I think they are 7 restaurants in the resort, plus room service and the convention center. So, they're busy. Real Busy. But, they took the time to fete 8 random guests and pull those chefs off the line to do so. I really appreciate it. WIne. I am a wine snob. It's true. But, honestly, I simply can't afford to buy high dollar wines. At the grocery in Austin, TX, I buy $15-$20 wines. They're good. In California, in wine country, I will spend more. But, I am not going to buy$100 bottle of wine in Mexico, much less a $500 bottle. They have a house Cab, Merlot, and Suavignon Blanc all covered under your all inclusive. 7-11 wine for sure, but whatever. It was red. Special thanks to all my favorite Staff, in no particular order, you ALL are marvelous and kind and much appreciated!!! Cudos! PS...If you all ever add a table side made Caesar Salad, I will never leave Secrets. Best, Eric Fisher Austin, TX

Just got into the hotel and after paying a decent amount for this trip we walk into a double bed room, not exactly what we were expecting. Our home beds should not be better than week get-away. Very disappointed!!!!

Excellent service and hospitality! Our room was more than we expected, large suite with sea view and very clean. Entertainment team was very professional with many events every day( Jackie was the best). Plenty of restaurants with different food variety. I will definitely recommend to my friends.

Where to begin... My wife and I traveled to Secrets the Vine, Cancun for vacation where she was the "FitPro", teaching two fitness classes a day through @fitbodies. This was our first time embarking on the all-inclusive resort stay and I am confident of my decision after our delightful experience at this resort and spa. When we arrived we were greeted with two sparkling glasses of champagne and a very warming smile. The staff in its entirety were absolutely wonderful. Abiel, our room service attendant, was quick and polite. He made sure we were well taken care of and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable during our stay. This next kind soul probably saw a little too much of us as we tended to migrate his way anytime we wanted to see a warming face and enjoy a delicious beverage. Eduardo Mendez always went the extra mile to make my wife her "skinny" drinks. He shared many "secret" cocktail recipes with us and always made us feel as if we were everyday regulars at his lounge. Not only an extremely wise bartender, but a very dear friend to my wife and I and we appreciate his hospitality greatly. Rodrigo, is another outstanding bartender that always welcomed my friends and I with open arms, thanks Rodrigo! Axel, with the entertainment team, was extremely friendly, funny, and all-around a pleasure to be with. He made us feel very welcome and always had a big smile on his face, but beware, he may not show up to every yoga session “promised”.;) Another E-Team member, "Fast Eddie", was extremely polite and welcoming. He did an excellent job providing activities and encouraging participation. These two young men made our stay terrific and we truly hope to see them again someday. Valerie and Emiliano were also members of the entertainment team that created a very fun, professional, and exciting environment for all guests. P.s. Good lookin’ out with the sticker on my butt @Emiliano. The manager of the "E-Team", Adrian, did an outstanding job creating a comfortable, entertaining, and exciting stay for my wife and I. We want to thank you personally for helping us out with any questions or concerns and cannot wait to visit this resort again. We are fortunate to have been invited to a private, behind the scenes, cooking class with executive chef, Jose Mejia, sou-chef, Gianero(sp), and assistant pastry chef, Mara. They treated us to a three course meal prepared, partly, by the guests. This consisted of warm tortilla soup, filet mignon with a mushroom glaze, and a mouthwatering brownie bouquet of pumpkin seed cluster, homemade coconut ice cream, and lite chocolate crisps. All accompanied with bottomless wine, of course! The food was incredible! Up by 7 am, no problem. Call room service or head down to Market Café and enjoy a delicious buffet filled with fresh juices, a mimosa bar, and fresh omelets within 60 seconds. Enjoy the fine dining experience @blue water grill where a 12oz ribeye and creamed spinach can really complete an already perfect day. The hospitality and service were bar none at all the restaurants. If you appreciate tasty sushi, Dragons is the place for you. The “Vine” roll was my absolute favorite and whoever came up with that is muy inteligente! Pad Thai was 2-Legit as well. I could go on and on about every restaurant,…… so I will. Sea Salt Grill is your ideal place to get the freshest, fishiest combinations in my opinion. Grilled chicken was my choice. Lol The exact opposite for my wife however, usually starting off with juicy ceviche or sliced octopus, moving on to the catch of the day (She is salmon-ed out). Or just sit by the pool, drink a refreshing, delectable, “mango tango” and enjoy and grilled quesadilla and fresh guacamole, the choices are endless. I highly recommend this resort and spa to anyone ready to have a wonderful time at a very worthy price. If I could, I would give this place 10 STARS on TripAdvisor. I hope that my wife and I had such an impact with a few of you guys as well! Thank you for the amazing vacation and we look forward to returning very soon! Until next time, we were wined and dined, and spoiled at the same time! You were a blessing @Secrets the Vine, Cancun Love, Courtney and Noah

Had a wonderful time at Secrets the Vine. The food was delicious and the preferred club is worth every penny. The preferred club pool is great! Would definitely recommend this resort to others. Axel with the entertainment team, our Butler Cesar and all of the staff were extremely attentive and awesome.
