Secrets The Vine Cancun

We recently stayed at Secrets The Vine Cancún, and while there were clear highlights—particularly the service—it’s important to know what kind of vacation this resort is built for before booking. The Highlights: Outstanding Service: Housekeeping was top-notch and attentive to the small details that make a big difference, from keeping drinks restocked to neatly organizing our shoes. Our butler was equally terrific, always quick to respond and accommodating throughout our stay. Grounds & Beach: While the property is a bit dated, it is kept impeccably clean. The staff did an amazing job staying on top of the beach maintenance, keeping the seaweed cleared so guests could actually enjoy the water. The Atmosphere: If you want a quiet, subdued, adults-only getaway to unwind with a book or relax peacefully by the water, this resort fits the bill. However, if you are looking for high energy, vibrant crowds, and late-night dancing, this is not the place. That isn't necessarily the hotel's fault—we should have researched the vibe more thoroughly—but even with a DJ starting around 10:00 or 11:00 PM, the venue was largely empty with nobody dancing. Note as well that there are no swim-up pool bars on the property, which takes away from the typical lively pool scene. Room for Improvement: Food Temperatures: Breakfast was solid, but lunch and dinner buffets consistently served lukewarm to cold food. We ended up walking away from full plates at the buffet to eat at the full-service restaurants instead. Check-In Organization: Arrival felt disorganized. There is no queue management; staff simply assist whoever happens to be standing closest to the desk. We grabbed a welcome drink and sat on the balcony—in full view of the desks—only to realize 30 minutes later that parties who arrived well after us were being checked in first. Overall, it's a solid, well-serviced property if your goal is very very low-key relaxation, but party seekers and foodies expecting hot buffet dining will likely want to look elsewhere. Wake up early for at least one sunrise...was worth it.

We had a fabulous time! The food was great, we really enjoyed dragons and the Italian restaurant was incredible. The service is astounding. We loved Anya and Jose on the entertainment team, playing sand volleyball, and water volleyball was so much fun. 5 stars!

This is a beautiful resort! We absolutely loved our room! It was spacious, comfortable and we overlooked the beach (we were in floor 24 in Junior Suite Ocean View King Bed). We didn’t swim but the pools looked clear and stunning! The ocean was a few steps from the pools. Although the Hard Rock resort next to us was under construction, it didn’t disturb our stay. We ate at the buffet for breakfast everyday. The selection was immense, fruit everyday, fresh juice and a mix of available foods. We ate at the steakhouse and the experience was exceptional! Food was remarkable. We had the surf and turf and sea bass! Perfection! We ate the Italian restaurant, ordered chicken Parmesan and salmon. Everything was incredible!! We also ate at the Asian restaurant and that was the best restaurant, in our opinion. We ordered edamame, pot stickers, Mongolian beef and chow mein. We ate everything and wanted more!! Great experience our entire stay!

Unbelievable experience!! Not only were the grounds, hotel room and staff absolutely amazing, the food absolutely rocked my world. Every meal was gourmet!! This is something that truly stood out about them. I feel like previous all inclusive stays we’ve had, I don’t even remember the food because I feel like I accepted that quality wasn’t that high. This place? Completely different. In fact, it will shape how I seek out future all inclusive stays because it made me realize how much BETTER that experience was when everything we ate was 10/10 gourmet food. Stay here!! It is SO worth it!
