I read another review that described Secrets The Vine as a “3-star resort trying to be a 5-star resort,” and after spending five nights here, I could not agree more. Let me start with the positive: the property itself is beautiful. The beach and views are gorgeous, the rooms are nice, and we enjoyed the couples hydrotherapy experience at the spa. There is absolutely potential here. Unfortunately, the overall experience does not live up to the luxury image the resort is trying so hard to create. Dining was probably the most consistently frustrating part of our stay. There are several restaurants, and the resort promotes a no-reservation, first-come-first-served system. In reality, they appear to be transitioning to a virtual waitlist through the app where you join a list and are eventually given a time to be seated. Call it whatever you want—that's essentially a reservation. The process is confusing, inconsistently managed, and frustrating. One evening we arrived at Dragons, could visibly see open tables, and were told the restaurant was at capacity because those tables were being held for other guests. And we weren't alone in being frustrated. We saw upset guests trying to navigate the restaurant process night after night. After all that effort to get into the restaurants, the food unfortunately wasn't worth the hassle. Overall, we found it pretty disappointing. The service, however, is ultimately why I cannot recommend this resort. As Black guests, there were repeated interactions where we felt unwelcome, dismissed, or treated as though we were an inconvenience. Initially, we questioned ourselves and wondered if we were being overly sensitive. After five nights and observing differences in how guests were treated, I no longer believe that was the case. I eventually reported my concerns to Delta Vacations, and interestingly, the treatment we personally received improved somewhat afterward. But better treatment after making a complaint doesn't make you feel much better when you continue observing other people being treated poorly. I do not make accusations of racial bias casually, but I left this resort genuinely feeling that Black guests were not equally welcomed or valued. That alone is enough for me not to return. Fernando, who we encountered several times hosting at the restaurants, deserves specific mention. Every interaction I had with him was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. If this property wants to position itself as a five-star international resort, hospitality training needs to be a major priority. The dress code also contributes to the resort's unnecessarily uptight atmosphere. I understand requiring appropriate attire at indoor restaurants for dinner. But requiring women to cover up at casual beachfront/poolside venues during the day at an adults-only beach resort feels excessive and unnecessarily policing. And that gets to my biggest issue with Secrets The Vine: **this resort needs to decide what it wants to be.** When I think Cancún, I think beautiful beaches, relaxation, music, energy, good food and FUN. Secrets The Vine has this incredible beachfront location but seems determined to create a conservative, sophisticated, wine-focused atmosphere instead. I was actually intrigued by the wine concept when I booked, but even that felt underwhelming in execution. The resort also manages to make an “all-inclusive” vacation feel surprisingly non-inclusive. There seemed to constantly be another upgrade or premium experience available for an additional charge. I have no issue paying extra for truly premium experiences, but when I've already paid thousands of dollars upfront for an all-inclusive vacation, the standard experience shouldn't repeatedly feel like the lesser option. You already have my money. Let me enjoy my vacation! Secrets The Vine could be an amazing Cancún resort if it stopped trying so hard to be something it isn't. Either commit to being a true five-star luxury resort—with the exceptional food, service and hospitality that should come with that designation—or embrace being a beautiful, fun, welcoming Cancún beach resort. Right now, it sits awkwardly somewhere in between. Beautiful property. Lots of potential. Disappointing execution. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Secrets The Vine Cancun, and I would not return.

This was my fourth visit. Each visit was always great, but this time around felt different. The number of restaurants offered were limited. There was one restaurant closed each night we were there. also the bathroom faucet were not providing enough pressure for cold water and the showers were only working with hot water. I always loved each visit, but this time around is making me consider a different hotel for my next trip to Cancun.

The hotel was beautiful, but we had issues since the first night. air-conditioning was leaking all night from the ceiling and created huge puddle of water on the floor that we didn’t even know about until bright and early housekeeping woke us up because we didn’t have a do not disturb sign. there was no do not disturb sign in our room to put on the door. So My husband got up half asleep slid and almost slipped on the huge puddle of water from the front of the room all the way up to the shower from the AC leaking from the ceiling. Then the ac was not working at its maximum. It was never really cold in our room. It was just kind of fresh. Then sales people/staff keeps bothering you while you’re at the pool or any part of the hotel constantly trying to sell you to $200 bottle service for a reserve table and show. at least seven people tried to sell me the same reservation within less than 24 hours so I bought it Then I pay $200 to have a reserve table for Mexican night the table that we paid for and told to choose a table. The table we paid for and we were promised was given away to someone else we had second row seating. all my videos all my pictures are with some ladies back her head We did not want a bottle of wine so we opted for two tomahawk steaks that were served almost when the show was already done. to compensate us, they offered us a reserve table at an Italian restaurant and turns out that restaurant was closed. then they offered us a reserve table at the steakhouse which we already had eaten at before, so we didn’t want that. they had another reservation dinner $200 bottle service and they ended up giving us that restaurant which was Italian night, which makes no sense why it was offered to me and then taken away from me and then re-offered to me again, because I complained that they were trying to put us inside the restaurant when the show was out in front of the deck. the waiter came up to us many times to see if we wanted to go inside the restaurant where the AC was, but there was no other people sitting in there and there was no-show in there, they didn’t want us to see the show because we didn’t pay for another bottle service so they wanted to so-called compensate us for what happened Mexican night but not let us see the show but we refused and we stayed on the deck. The hotel is beautiful. The food was decent. the staff was usually very very nice but we did tip them constantly, even though everything was all inclusive. It was also very clean.

Secrets the vine was nice but after we complained about the temperature in our room being extremely warm they sent someone in the attempt to “fix” it and all they did was open the vents with a screwdriver and there was still no air flow inside of the room so it made our honeymoon very difficult to get proper rest with the heat inside.

I love this resort. I noticed this time it needs some maintenance water leaking from main dining area ceiling. Staff are all very friendly. They have nice entertainment. This time they had Armando Coda a mentalist, who had some interesting tricks up his sleeve. We really enjoyed interacting with him. Very neat experience. The resort is very relaxed vibes.
