Amazing in every way possible from the accommodations to the amenities to the top notch restaurants! I expected it to be a great stay, but it exceeded all of my expectations! Jose the bell captain was very attentive and greeted me almost daily by name. Adolfo and Jose at the beach provided stellar service, and the food service in all the restaurants was excellent.

This was my first trip to Cancun and the vine made it so memorable. This resort is so beautiful looks just like the pictures. This staff was great they are very attentive to the people were staying. We tried most of the restaurants and they were all amazing, the quality food was good. The pool has an amazing view to the beach. I would totally stay at The Vine Cancun again .

This may be long and detailed. We just left Secrets The Vine today after being there for 5 nights. I wanted to leave my review about our experience while it was fresh in my mind. I'll start by saying we loved this resort. This was our 1st year wedding anniversary trip as well as our first trip to Mexico. We were a little apprehensive about going to Mexico after all the issues with tainted alcohol, drug related shootings and the US travel advisory. We had no reason to worry about any of that. We felt completely safe on the resort at all times. There is security at the front gate and security at the entrance to the beach. You can't leave the resort or return without giving your name and room number. This keeps people from wandering onto the property. Security is there 24/7. When we arrived we checked in at the front desk with Rodrigo who informed us that our room had been upgraded to a honeymoon suite thanks to our travel agent. Needless to say, this was a very pleasant surprise. We were in an ocean view room (as all the rooms are) but Rodrigo told us we could upgrade to an oceanfront honeymoon suite for $90 more a night. This was discounted from the normal $140 a night charge. We immediately decided to upgrade. The room wasn't quite ready so we went to have lunch in the Market Cafe. It's a buffet style restaurant with lots of variety. The food here was good but I wouldn't say outstanding. It was certainly fine as a breakfast and lunch option. The good thing about the Market Cafe is that you can come off the beach/pool in your swimsuit and a coverup and grab something quick. Men should be advised that a shirt with sleeves is required at all the restaurants including the Market Cafe. Tshirts are fine but no tank tops. After lunch our room was ready and Jocsan the bellhop took our luggage up to our room. He was very friendly and informative. We liked him a lot. Our room was beautiful. It had a king size bed, a double shower with rainfall shower heads, a 6 ft rectangular bathtub positioned in front of the balcony so you could see the ocean, a curved chaise lounge type chair and couch with a console that the tv raised out of at the touch of a button. The decor was elegant, clean and fresh. It looked brand new even though I'm sure it wasn't. The view from our balcony was stunning. The ocean was turquoise and beautiful. The resort cleans the beach in front of the property every morning. They clean up any seaweed that has washed ashore making the beach look pristine. There was a lot of seaweed which a couple people said had been churned up from the hurricane. One interesting note about the beach...the sand stays cool cause it comes from the coral reef so it's never hot and therefore you don't have to wear sandals to keep from burning your feet. So far everything looked and felt fabulous. We were greeted in the lobby by Carlos, a VIP concierge. He made an appointment with us to give us a welcome kit and talk to us a bit. During our meeting, he offered us a $200 spa certificate and a 3 day 2 night free stay to participate in a breakfast presentation the following morning about the property and to show us some of the preferred areas and master suites. We assumed it was a selling promotion to show us why we should book a preferred level room. Kind of a little taste of what you could get there. We accepted since we knew we would want to use the spa and set up breakfast for 9am with Jennifer. The following morning we got up and went to the gym at 7am. The gym is amazing. It's the largest gym I've ever seen in a hotel. The equipment is state of the art and all the cardio equipment faces the ocean. It's a great view while you walk on a treadmill. After that we got ready and went to meet Jennifer. Jennifer was very nice and friendly. She talked all through breakfast and seemed very interested in us and our "story" know, when we got married and how we met, etc. We transitioned to her office after breakfast and seeing the preferred areas and master suite. Once in her office, she began to show us on paper how much we spend on vacations and how much a time share is and how being a member of their "club" could save us in comparison. It all sounded great and I was expecting a "it's $499 a year to be a member and receive all the perks" statement. I was blown away and in shock when after 90 mins of talk, she got to the pricing. You put down a huge chunk of money and finance the rest over 40 years. I almost laughed out loud. We told her there was no way we could pay that kind of money. She nodded to her manager who came over to lower the price and the benefits to make it more feasible. Of course no price they came up with was anything we would ever pay. We politely declined....several times. They didn't seem to want to take no for an answer. At the beginning of breakfast, Jennifer said "if you decide not to join, no hard feelings and we will part as friends." That was far from the case. As soon as she realized we couldn't be persuaded, she became cold and disinterested. She barely even said goodbye as another woman tried one last time to give us a "better deal" as she walked us down to get our free gifts. Each time we saw Jennifer during the week, she acted as if she had never met us before. We basically let all that go and started our vacation. We went down to the pool. There are 3 pools not including the one in the preferred area on the 12th floor. There's an infinity pool that we liked the most as it looked out at the ocean and had some shade areas from the palm trees lining the pool. This was important to us since we burn easily. There are plenty of waiters at the pool that come around continuously taking drink orders. The good thing was that they were attentive to everyone regardless of whether or not you tip them but we think it was nice to give them a dollar when they brought you a drink. Yoana and Blanca were our favorites outside by the pool and they were very attentive. One thing to mention if you have sensitive feet.....the bottom of the steps into the pool and the bottom of the pool itself is super rough. I know it was to prevent slipping but it was a little too much. It felt like walking on a cheese grater. Lots of people commented on it. There are 6 restaurants on the property and the food was good at all of them but none were outstanding. A lot of the food was kinda bland and when it arrived to the table was warm but not hot. Nebbiolo, the Italian restaurant was our favorite and Bryant was a great waiter. Dragons, the Asian restaurant was our 2nd favorite. We never ate at Olio cause there was nothing on the menu that we wanted to eat. The resident manager, Leonardo Morado, stopped by while we were having coffee in the lobby to ask how our stay was so far and if everything was to our liking. I told him about the food never being hot. He said it was something they were working on and he appreciated my comments. Nothing about the food qualified as bad. It just could've been a little better based on the quality of the resort. We had a romantic breakfast on our balcony which was very nice and we watched the sunrise. Room service was always available but takes about 45 mins. There is a 24 hr coffee shop with coffees and pastries and sandwiches. That was nice if you were hungry late at night for just a little something. We visited the spa twice and had Ingrid and Lizeth do our couples massages both times. They were amazing. The spa is absolutely gorgeous but kinda pricey. I could see why it was so expensive once we were inside. They do offer deals out by the pool so it's better to wait for that instead of booking at the spa. The entertainment every night was spectacular. Our most favorite shows were the Burlesque show and the Circus show in the pool. All of the performers were incredibly talented. There was all kinds of entertainment every day and night, from singers to dancers to musicians to big shows. There was something for everyone. All during the day at the pools there were activities. They had Spanish lessons, pictionary, music trivia, water aerobics and volleyball. Always something to do if you wanted to participate. If not, nobody bothered you. The bottom line is this resort was amazing. All the staff bend over backwards to make you feel at home. Even with the couple of not so great things, it was still the best resort we've ever stayed at. We will most definitely return to Secrets The Vine and look into staying at Secrets when available on other islands. I give this resort an A....5 Stars for sure!

My husband and I took our very first trip to Cancun to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary. We spent 5 nights in a Preferred Junior suite. We booked our trip through Costco Travel and chose this resort because of it's excellent reviews. We were NOT disappointed. FACILITY: The entire facility is absolutely gorgeous! Clean, beautiful, comfortable and the subtle scent diffusers in the lobby make your arrival a total sensory experience. STAFF: From our first encounter to our last, the staff was wonderful. We often commented that everyone must LOVE their job. They were all so friendly and warm, hospitable and went the extra steps to make our stay nothing short of amazing. With our preferred level booking package, we also enjoyed a butler exlusive to our floor. Miriam was incredibly helpful when we were booking our excursions, during our checkout and also assisted with any questions that we had. She also had our suite door swagged with HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and our room sprinkled with rose petals and iced champagne! SPA: We spent a day in the relaxing spa facilities. We also had a couples massage. I would highly recommend it. DINING: Everything from the breakfast buffet, to the 6 restaurants on-site were delicious. We were amazed at the quality of cuisine, the presentation and entire culinary experience. The ceviche at the Sea Salt Grill was one of our favorites. The restaurants have a dress code for evening dining. Unfortunately, my husband forgot to pack a pair of pants. We learned that the Concierge desk would gladly lend him a pair for the duration of our stay. We simply checked out a pair of pressed and clean khakis & returned them during our check out. They think of EVERYTHING! GYM: The gym facilities overlook the crisp turqouise caribbean waters. What an inspiring view for a workout. We enjoyed watching the sunrise while on the treadmill! POOL: We loved relaxing by the pools. We also enjoyed the many activities on site, like: beach volleyball, poolside break dancers, music trivia, poker and blackjack. If you're looking to experience a little luxury in an adults only environment, this beautiful facility is sure to impress. I highly recommend it and we will certainly be back!

Stayed here for a week with my partner from 4 Sep 17. This is a real 5 star hotel. We paid an extra £100 each for preferred club status which gave us additional benefits including personal butler, private check in, private pool for members, private lounge for members, enhanced mini bar an 24 hour room service. I think the additional cost is worth it. We were made to feel very welcome and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. All seven restaurants were excellent an no booking is necessary. At worse you are given a pager that goes off when your table is ready. The food was top notch in all. This is an adults only hotel if that suits you. It is very clean and lavishly furnished as you would expect. There are numerous bars with different themes. Drinks are all top shelf and service at the bars is speedy (no Irish whiskey though which is my tipple). Pool and beach are excellent with waiter service throughout. Our room was fantastic. Beautiful sea and lagoon view. Very well equipped with free mini bar, nespresso machine and tablet computer as well as all appliances you would expect. If you smoke the only place in the hotel you can smoke is in one pool bar and the beach. All other areas are smoke free. Overall we felt that we were in the lap of luxury the whole time. The only issue I had was we were bombarded by some waiters to upgrade to a 'personal dining experience'. Basically a hard sell for you to purchase wine from the wine list. The wine list is mental price wise. I just felt that it was all a bit unnecessary and it did hack me off slightly. Bring some small denomination dollars for tips. A few dollars is not expected but certainly appreciated. Would definitely go back to this hotel or any others in the group.
