Luxury Residences by Villa del Palmar Cancun

Having been a member of the Villa group for over 20 years, I can honestly say our trips were outstanding until our stay this year was extremely disappointing. I'll list some of the reasons for my rating. No consistent hot water, washing machine broken, kitchen faucet broken master shower not functioning, broken toaster and shades not working. It took three days and multiple calls to the front desk to finally have these items repaired The cleaning staff did a great job on the daily cleaning of the unit. However, the maintenance was lacking Lastly, I am not sure of my future stays with the Villa group. For sure, we will not return to the Villa del Palmar in Cancun

Caprichos restaurant especially Eduardo Promotor! He was the BEST! After the first day, he knew our drinks for breakfast, brought us a fruit plate, and best of all filled our to go cups with ice! Eduardo also educated us on the local fruit—AMAZING!

This hotel is simply exceptional; especially for the price. We stayed for 7 nights and paid for the all inclusive package. The service was amazing. The food was very good and the rooms were huge with many amenities including laundry. But the best thing of all were the pools and beautiful grounds! The hotel has a super chill vibe and is perfect for family's with children. The beach was also amazing. Isla Mujeres being just in front of it, helps to reduce the amount of seaweed (sargassum) and the crew does a good job trying to remove it. There was some but it never stopped us from swimming in the beautiful turquoise water. Our only complaint was the pre-booked transportation to and from the airport. It was late on both ends. I would just get an Uber. It's perfectly safe, less expensive and faster. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel!

Lovely property. Plenty of fun to be had but quiets at night which I enjoy. Jared at the Elite pool is attentive to every need. Benito was our waiter at the pool and was hustling to keep us all fed and watered. Hiroshi was an excellent dinner spot and our waiter Luis was top notch

It is a beautiful family, friendly resort . It was very clean, safe and had good food when you could find a reservation at one of the restaurants. BUT all inclusive does not mean all inclusive here. Despite advertising that all inclusive included tips, At every meal and every turn, the staff asked for and expected tips. They weren’t shy, and service was noticeably slower the next time if you did not. In addition, each restaurant had meals that were not included (any steak or seafood specials) and charged exorbitant prices if selected (here’s looking at you $200 USD lobster tail). If you want a bottle of wine with a nice dinner, it was 200-300% more than the same bottle would cost in a comparable American restaurant. On top of that insult, if you didn’t book a seat at that restaurant three weeks before you arrived on site, you were eating at 8:30 or later at night in the only available reservation slots. That was consistent across every restaurant every night. I had brought a significant amount of pesos to use as tips, but this constant demand for tips and extra money for meals completely turned me off. I brought my pesos home and exchanged them back to dollars instead and put them back in my checking account. Money was not supposed to be the object of my all-inclusive vacation, but Taffer made it so. In short, greedy.
