My jewelry pouch was missing from the room safe for 24 hours. Security "found" it there for us (after we had emptied the safe several times ourselves). Several employees acted strange and the employee behind the desk knew exactly what size the pouch was without me describing it. We were totally uncomfortable for the remaining 24 hours we were there after the incident. Every employee cannot be controlled, but there were several employees in on the theft, including front desk, security and even the head concierge. Sad anniversary trip! Also listed on several hotel sites as adult only and there were children.

What an amazing vacation ! From the arrival to departure. Unfortunately the seaweed on the shoreline did not clear up until the day we were leaving. BUT due to the sea water pools at the resort and at the SPA was able to get my salt water fix. In addition because of the Endless Privileges at Zoetry, a day trip to Isla Mujeres provided additional sea water fun. The staff was so attentive, welcoming, and went out of their way to accommodate. Most days we had a wonderful waiter Valdimar at the Kaax resort. We also felt special that each day the Matre'd at the Kaax resort always remembered our name. Nice touch !

My wife is on a really extreme Paleo protocol specific to her health condition. Eating at restaurants is VERY difficult and anything she orders must be customized and is thus rarely prepared memorably. We decided on Paraiso at the recommendation of friends and from the second we arrived, it was everything we hoped it would be. The executive chef Jose met us upon check in. He had been in communication with my wife and wanted to assure us that he understood her requirements. He explained that he had sent somebody to do shopping specifically for her week's meals and reassured us he understood. Typically my wife has to spend countless hours shopping and preparing for her meals. This week, Chef Jose took this completely out of her hands. He would visit with her almost daily to make sure everything was too her liking and together, they would determine what her next meals would be. The dining experience at this hotel was truly something she will remember for the rest of her life. In addition the rooms are all deluxe. The bath tubs, outdoor showers/plunge pools., beds, couches all great. There is even a really good bottle of tequila in every room. All inclusive includes legit top shelf cocktails and all around gourmet food. There are an amazing collection of birds around the property. We also had access to a boat ride to Isla Mujeres. All the staff is awesome, most notably Genevieve the yoga instructor. We still talk about how amazing she was to us. We rarely go to the same resort twice but we will be back at La Paraiso again soon.

We went to relax and decompress and that is exactly what we got. The resort is beautiful and peaceful with an exceptional staff that pays attention to every little detail. I love how eco friendly they are. The highlight of our trip was Estaban, the Sushi Chef. We wanted to take the sushi making course and it was full. After he was finished with that class, he offered another one to us. We did pick up some excellent tips!! His food served at the sushi bar was top of the line. Estaban took pride in everything he served no matter how busy the bar was.
