Trip started out great for bout 15 mins, Nice transfer vehicle, a new model Lincoln was waiting for us as we walked out of airport. Driver was great, he had cold champagne for our transfer ride to hotel. Then truck broke down on Hwy during torrential rainstorm at 10pm, my husband got out to try to help, but there was no tools, so we had to wait for a van to pic us up. Dinner- there was 2 couples and 2 kids. We asked for a table of 6, they said it would take 40 mins to set up! We got seated at 8pm, we didn't get our meals until 10:45, place was not busy. One dish came out for 1 child, and then another 30 mins later. We felt terrible telling them to wait till everyone gets their meals. Falling asleep at the table. Was not 5star food. Gave this resort 1 more try and it failed our expectations for dinner. We spent the rest of our evenings at the other hotels, which costs $10us one way, but the Secrets & Breathless hotels were a wonderful and we looked forward to our dinners away from Zoetry. Beach-worst beach ever, I've never gone anywhere south and didn't want to put my feet in the water. Here, I took one look at beach & water and went back to sit by boring pool. No music at all, not even soothing music. Beach had seaweed all over and the water was so gross. Room-I asked repeatedly to put water, vodka, gin in my supposedly "stocked fridge" Never happened, I even left notes on fridge to please restock. Beds were comfortable but we wanted a king bed, they wanted us to pay more, I think another $100/night really! The most money I've ever spend, not worth $1000 let alone $3700!!!!!each!!! Never ever ever recommend this place, unless your close to dead. Oh it was relaxing, every time I looked at my husband he was sleeping, in the chase, in the pool, in a chair, at dinner, really

My Husband & I were expecting excellent, instead it ranged from good to border line very good at times. It is very expensive to stay here so we thought it must be as good as a 5 star diamond resort it claims to be. The service was inconsistent, food was very inconsistent, poor choice of selections as well. House Reds and White wines were TERRIBLE!!!!! Why must we pay to get a good quality wine that does not taste like cat urine??? Unacceptable at an award winning resort!! We won't stay here again. And yes we are UVC members...

My husband and I went to Zoetry for our honeymoon and just returned. We had a lovely time due to the weather and the people we met but I wanted to warn others about what we experienced. PROS: Clean: the resort and rooms are well manicured and clean. Airport transportation: the van that picked us up was a mercedes and very well maintained. They also offered us a drink and a cold towel for the ride. Visiting sister resorts: The website implies you can go to the other resorts at any time. You can only attend at night for dinner and drinks. A day pass is $120 per person to another resort. We visited Breathless for dinner and really enjoyed it. The decor is much more modern and there is much more going on. This resort is much better for young people. Local attractions: We visited Playa Del Carmen and had a blast. They have some very nice bars, restaurants and shops. I would not recommend visiting the open air market or mall in Cancun. Food: the food is very good but because it is a smaller resort there are not that many options. CONS: Service: the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. The answer is almost always no or that it will cost extra money. Spa: the spa is outrageously priced. The resort advertises that they give you $200 in credit but you can only use $40 to a Spa service and the average service costs around $500. Beach: the beach is full of seaweed. It is virtually unusable. People tend to spend time by the pool where there is no music and almost no activities. Boring: The resort is super quiet and everything shuts down at 10pm. This is not a resort meant for young people!!! Distance: We were in the furthest room from the lobby. It was 1 kilometer to our room and golf carts were not always available and staff seemed annoyed when we asked for a ride. If you do choose to go make sure that you ask for a room close to the lobby. Registry: Do not use the Zoetry registry. They do not know how to use their own system and we spent a significant time fighting with staff regarding our gifted items. Excursions: The free excursions only have a few spots and book up very fast. If you choose to go pre book these activities.

The hotel may have been 5 star at one time, but that time has come and gone. The room, though spacious, could use remodeling. The blinds in my room were stained and broken so they constantly were out of alignment. Room service is very slow. Turn down service only happened after we complained that it wasn't happening. The pool is crowded as the beach is unswimmable -- so much seaweed that left a putrid stench that permeated the entire resort. Dirty glasses left on benches and stands that were never picked up for our entire week's stay. Very disappointing and certainly not my idea of a 5 star. The food was nice, but after a week it all began to taste the same as the menus of the restaurants are too similar. The tennis court is cracked and uneven -- a broken ankle waiting to happen. Overall, not worth the money. This place could be beautiful but the owner/ management needs to reinvest in the resort.

We stayed at Zoetry Paraiso de la bonita last month (March 13-21) for 8 nights. It was out third trip to Zoetry. We came last month to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We keep coming back because of the beautiful grounds, peaceful/tranquil surroundings, lovely suites and a terrific and friendly staff. Bring your own sunscreen, it is very expensive to buy it in Mexico. You don’t need pesos for the resort. Bring a hat or baseball cap. There is good internet service there. Your pick-up service from the airport to Zoetry is outstanding. Your driver is waiting outside the airport doors carrying a sign “ZOETRY” and he has sparkling wine in the van. Sit back, relax and you are at the resort in about 20 minutes. The suites are all lovely, with wonderful views. The beds are comfortable. The sitting room and patios make it very luxurious. The maid service is excellent. There is a laundry service, if you need it, very convenient. The pool is absolutely gorgeous. The shape and design of it is spectacular, the colors replicate the Caribbean. There are large, comfortable lounge chairs all around the pool and also at the beach. The restaurants are excellent. The breakfast choices are all outstanding. Julio, the harpist, is very talented and the music is a wonderful addition to the outdoor breakfast atmosphere. The Canoa restaurant is one of three places to eat dinner-there: just dress up a bit, men need long pants. Other than that, it is a casual place to stay. Every restaurant has a different menu, so you have many choices where to go and what to eat! Staff that we interacted with on our last month trip: Enrique and his staff will meet you when you first arrive from the airport with the best smile. He or his staff is always available for transports by golf cart back and forth to your suite. It was quite special to have him greet us when we arrived from the airport with delicious margaritas! Angelica is one of the staff that checks in new guests- she is terrific! Cesar at Kaax welcomed us every day at breakfast and engaged us in many conversations. We felt like the most important guests. Esteban, Isai, Jeremia all made our anniversary dinner memorable. We spent most of our days at our favorite spot lounging by the pool and got special treatment from: Mañuel/Mani, Frederico, Antonio, Eduardo y Andrės. These guys checked on us constantly and always came by to see what more we needed. They brought us wonderful food and drinks as we kept them busy all day with orders. Feel free to order food as you lounge poolside or take a break and walk a short distance to the Beachside Grill. Or, go to the sushi bar, also close by. You don’t have to tip, but most guests are very appreciative of the service and do give tips. If you see how hard all the employees work, how they go out of their way to do a great job and care about service- you will want to reward their hard work. All of the employees made us feel like very special people. Each of your employees of Zoetry went out of their way to help us and serve us. From your grounds keepers, cleaning staff, servers, bar tenders- everyone has a genuine welcoming smile and each works very hard all day and every day. The rooms /suites are quiet. There is a beautiful stone walk-way leading behind the buildings with all the suites. You walk along there and feel like you are near the jungle: birds, peacocks, lush trees, brush, shrubs etc. At the resort they offer for free: yoga classes for all/any levels, Spanish & Mayan classes, ceramic painting, kayaking, sailing, a day trip to Isla Mujeres, a sunset cruise. You can pay for massage, spa services, scuba or snorkeling trips. Taxi services at your disposal for day trips to other nearby cities. This resort is perfect for couples or adult groups that want a relaxing, quiet vacation. It's really not a kid, teen place and they could get bored very quickly if they want a lot to do and want kid activities. The guests we met were here primarily to rest, relax, enjoy wonderful food and beverages and lay in the sun. If you want the big night life, with bands, crowds, loud music and dancing every night, this isn’t the place you. At Zoetry the nights are peaceful, the outdoor Hippo Bar is a nice place to sit, order drinks and visit. The Biblioteca, the bar inside is also a great place to meet people and drink. We are returning in November 2018 for our 4th trip to Zoetry!!
