My husband and I just came back from our second trip to Zoetry. We were there last year and absolutely loved it! Thought it was the most luxurious, relaxing, zen-like all inclusive hotel ever. The beach was beautiful, the service was incredible, the a la crate food was great, the rooms were spectacular as were the grounds. When it came time to travel this year, it was a no-brainer to go back to Zoetry. The current beach situation is awful! The sea weed is out of control and the hotel does not seem to have a handle on it to the extent that the smell is so horrible that you can’t sit or really walk on the beach. Last year there was no seaweed and the beach was incredible. of course the hotel has no control over the ocean or sea weed situation I just think that anyone going there should know the situation, especially if you’re a beach person like me and want to know that you really can’t use the beach! This leads me to the pool. Overall the pool is gorgeous, tranquil and relaxing. Definitely a nice option when you can’t use the beach. However, this year the pool was more like a club med hard rock hotel rather than what you would expect from Zoetry . There were many groups that came together, would bring their own speakers to the pool, blast their music as if no one else was there, and become quite drunk and rowdy. Unfortunately, the waiters did nothing about it except serve them more drinks and I had to go to management after I asked the parties involved to lower their music. It got really ugly and I was uncomfortable . I couldn’t believe that this behavior was allowed to go on 2 days in a row at the hotel. It was quite disappointing and yes management apologized however they should had way more control over the situation. Guests come there to relax and have peace and quiet. If I wanted a loud, drunk crowd I would not have chosen this hotel. I know the hotel has no control over which guests stay at their hotel however it is their responsibility to make sure that rules are followed and guests are respectful to their staff as well as other guests! The service continued to be incredible however based on the lack of control the hotel had over their guest behavior 2 out of 3 of my days there I would not run back to this 3rd day speakers were turned on later in the day and again nothing was done about I.T. I.T is disappointing since my husband and I really love this resort last year however it does appear the tides have changed a little and as a traveler I know I would like to know these details prior to making my decision on where to stay.

I learned a huge lesson... If there are negative comments made by several visitors on trip advisor, LISTEN! Even though some like this resort, they must have nothing to compare it. I'm reasonably travelled and this resort is not a 5 diamond! There are so many places to stay in the area, choose those. Don't not be fooled by plunge pools.... they are freezing and dirty. The beach is an absolute disaster! Small with seaweed everywhere..I never went in the ocean. Don't underestimate the comment... seaweed lines the water as a huge seawall. The pool is too small and the staff is no where to be found after 3pm. The staff is a bit lazy and do not change the towels as guests leave... there are soiled towels on the chair for the rest of the day... probably so no further guests can sit down so they do not have to wait on them. The hotel website claims cleaning 3x per time... one day my room was not cleaned until 5pm. They mention in-room minibar... but there are absolutely no snacks. The staff at the front office are extremely rude and their attitude needs to be humbled and accommodating. They do not have a customer service mentality. The only reason this rating is poor vs terrible is due to the spa. Their staff is trained customer focus atmosphere takes work and due diligence. Oh, and it was my birthday. Even after I told them, they did nothing... not even a small piece of bday cake. How easy could it have been??!! Get it together folks, there needs to be better management and hospitality expressed.

My husband and I were looking for a restful resort where we could wind down and enjoy each other, reconnecting after a hard winter. We found it ! From the driver who met us personally outside customs and immigration, to Frederico, the beach attendant, and everyone in between we felt pampered and served by friendly polite people, who went out of their way to make us comfortable, happy and satisfied! We were met at the airport and whisked away in a comfortable mercedes van, where we were given cool towels and offered sparkling wine or iced water. Our driver explained the check in procedure, which was fast and easy, and made sure our bags were taken straight to our room We stayed in a Romance Oceanview terrace sute on the upper floor with a gorgeous view of the aqua waters of the Gulf of Mexico, palm trees swaying right out side our balcony. The sunloungers on the balcony were well used - we ate breakfast out there most mornings, delivered by efficient, kind, friendly room service - every one we met asked us again and again if there was anything else they could do for us - I've never stayed at a place with such attentive, smiling staff. It makes a world of diference. All the staff seemed happy to be working there and doing a wonderful job. The maids who cleaned our room three times a day always left us a surprise - flowers on the bed, petals in the bathroom, rice picture and a 'happy birthday' in flower petals, even though we didn't tell any one about the birthday ! It was a great feeling to be cared for so well. Our suite seemed huge - from the big, comfortable bed, to the massive sunken bathtub, it felt like a Roman villa ! Such luxury. Because we were seeking quiet, we opted to go down to the beach most mornings, where Frederico took excellent care of us - bringing us drinks, lunch from the sushi bar and going so far as to special order whole grilled fish from the grill, even though ti wasn't on the menu! We thoroughly enjoyed our beach time ! .The food at all the restaurants was great - especially La Canoa - the AAA Four Diamond restaurant - which we enjoyed three times ! Again, friendly service, warm and comfortable atmosphere and great food ! We can't wait to come to back to Zoetry and bring our whole family !

This resort is very small with one small pool and a very smalll beach. There is no volleyball and limited beach chairs and activities. They are also experiencing a bad sea weed problem which prevents you from swimming in the ocean unless you want to walk through the muck. It also smells real bad. Save your money and go to Secrets Maroma or Now Sapphire.

Zoetry went above and beyond all of my expectations. Every detail was incredible. I would recommend this place in a second. I recently had my wedding here and it couldn't have been more perfect. It really is a special place and I feel like these gems are hard to find. The rooms are absolutely incredible. The decor is unique and fun and the rooms are gigantic. The personal two person hot tub with candles is a nice touch. The balcony had an incredible view of the ocean and palm trees. We loved laying out on the hammock and listening to the ocean breeze. We also loved having room service breakfast setup on the balcony! One of my favorite things about this place is that a lot of the time it feels like you are the only guests at the entire resort. The staff knows your name and your preferences everywhere you go. It's so quiet and peaceful and has such a good energy. If you're looking for parties and night clubs and pool foam parties...this is not your resort. If you're looking for relaxation, quiet, amazing atmosphere, incredible food, super clean rooms, pristine grounds, personal service, and positive energy - Zoetry will be right up your alley! The wedding coordinator Maria is INCREDIBLE. She paid attention to every single detail and went above and beyond to make our whole experience magical. She threw in so many extra things and we felt like she was there for our every need. By the end of our week stay she felt like a friend. We were so sad to leave! She was professional, personal, attentive, so friendly, extremely sharp, full of good ideas, and so willing to help! I honestly can't say enough good about her. We feel incredibly lucky to have had her plan our special once in a lifetime day. We literally wouldn't have changed anything about our entire wedding experience - it was perfect. And all of our guests 100% agreed. The beach - People in these reviews seem to complain about the water and the seaweed... yeah there's seaweed. So get over it. Go to a Caribbean island if you're looking to have crystal clear waters and swim with the fish. Zoetry worked constantly all day every day to clean the seaweed and keep the beach looking incredible. We even kayaked on the water - which was included in the price! The seaweed didn't bother us at all. It's natural. But overall the beach was incredible. Soft white sand, super comfortable beach chairs, and amazing service from our beach waiter - Miguel! He took care of our every need and was so incredibly personal and friendly. Every day we looked forward to seeing him. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable. He remembered our drink preferences, set us all up as a family together every day, and was constantly trying to happily meet and exceed all of our needs. A last note about safety... From the second we got to the airport and got in the car with our personal zoetry driver we felt safe. He was kind, greeted us with champagne and cool towels, and quickly got us to the resort. It was like an oasis. We never felt scared or worried. And the quality of the food was impeccable. They pay extreme attention to cleanliness and every dish looked like a piece of art. Overall I HIGHLY recommend this place. I feel like I need to visit for a yearly zen vacation. Incredible job Zoetry and I am so happy I chose this resort for an incredible, magical wedding experience. We will definitely be back.
