My hubby and I just returned from the Bodyholiday three days ago and we have just booked to return in April 2018! I guess that tells you how awesome this place is, but I’ll outline some details for anyone considering going there. Pre-trip – there is an awesome web portal that you can use to start creating an awesome vacation, as soon as you have booked. In this portal, you can select what activities interest you, you can highlight any special events/dates that you are celebrating (we went for our 20th wedding anniversary), you can book side trips (we did the 110 foot waterfall repelling…quite an experience), you can schedule your daily spa treatments (the afternoon times go quickly, so I’d recommend that you book these well before you arrive), you can ask for reservations at Windows or Tao and you can even select the type of pillow that you want (trust me…..well worth doing!!!). The responsiveness of their staff is amazing and they go out of their way to accommodate any request that you make so that your vacation is absolutely perfect. Pre-resort travel – we flew with Air Canada and arrived in St Lucia early afternoon. As a special treat for my hubby, I had arranged to fly by helicopter to the airport closest to the resort, which cuts travel time down from about 2 hours to 13 min on the helicopter and a 15 min car ride. Unfortunately we had to wait 45 minutes at the airport to catch the helicopter as they were really busy, so all in all, we didn’t get to the resort that much faster, but my hubby finally got to fly in a helicopter! Arrival – the arrival at the resort was awesome. They greet you with a cold towel and drink and take you right to your room (you fill in the paperwork and drop it off at the front desk within the next 24 hours). We had booked a luxury oceanfront room and to our surprise, they had upgraded us to a two-bedroom suite, which was beautiful and they had left a piece of chocolate cake with “happy anniversary” written on it! We didn’t really use the sitting room much and weren’t in our room for long anyway, so we are booking a regular room on our next trip. The upgrade was totally unexpected and a wonderful surprise though. The activities – where to start?! There is a lot to do here and there are classes that range from the beginner to the very experienced exerciser. We are not really into fitness that much, but we both did the aqua fit class each day, my hubby played pool and beach volleyball every day and I did an intro yoga and intro Pilates class and worked out in the very well equipped gym as well. The only thing that is important to know, is that a lot of the activities are scheduled in the morning, so if you like to sleep in, you may end up missing out on some very fun classes. The Bodyguards, who teach the classes, are amazing and they make each class fun, informal but surprisingly challenging (they do encourage you to modify as needed and to go at your own pace). The spa – given the small size of the resort, I was blown away at the size of the spa with over 30 treatment rooms. We had a variety of included treatments and all were absolutely amazing. They don’t try to upsell you on the treatments that are extra and the level of service that you get is as good (if not better) than any spa that I have been to in the Toronto area. The downside is that you miss that daily massage when you get home!!!!! The food – my hubby and I are total foodies!!!! We have also been to a lot of “5 star” resorts in the Caribbean and I think this is the category where the Bodyholiday blew every other place completely out of the water! We did the 7 course French tasting menu at Windows with wine parings (this costs extra…. but SO worth it) and it was delicious. The portions are small but packed full of flavor. We also had two dinners at Tao and they were also amazing. At every restaurant, they offer the regular menu and a menu with alternatives at a small cost. Even at the regular Cariblue restaurant, the included food was divine and the service spectacular. There are just options if you want to indulge even more. For lunch, my recommendation is to go to the grill, as there’s a wide range of salads, wraps and healthy smoothies waiting for you! The wine – we both had a wine tasting on our first day ($11 each and you then get that credited off of a bottle if you chose to buy one - we bought at bottle of champagne for our anniversary dinner at Tao and also an amazing California red for a dinner at Cariblue). The Sommelier’s at this resort are top notch. Their knowledge of wine is remarkable and we learned a lot about the paring of wine and food. Whether you indulge in the 7 course tasting menu or just order something off of the menu, they are happy to suggest a wine to pare with your dinner and they take the time to explain the wine (and it’s history) to you. The attention that they give you is exceptional. The extra little things – there are so many little things that you may not notice, but help to create and sustain the atmosphere there. The turndown service at night that includes a non-caffeine tea and cookies, the replenishment of the mini bar, the matts that are left beside your bed at night that say “goodnight” and “good morning” depending on whether you are getting in or out of the bed, the room service that is available in the morning (coffee on the balcony to the sound of the waves), the water bottles that they give you so that you can easily keep hydrated, the t-shirts that they give you…it just goes on and on with little surprises and nice touches at every turn. There’s little wonder that the vast majority of people there have been before (over 80% I was told). The overall experience was well beyond anything we have encountered anywhere before (including on cruises) and I honestly can’t imagine going anywhere else now. In fact, there’s only 155 days until we go back in the spring…..not that we’re counting or anything!!!!

All inclusive, seclusion, relaxation is what The Body Holiday is all about! 1 week all inclusive with a spa treatment a day! The included Spa treatments were OK but the Spa Clinic was Awesome!! Love Elizabeth and Samson!! Professional, honest and a wealth of information on skin care and products!! Amazing treatments with instant results - Great classes, water aerobics are tough but fun! great resort to back into a fit and healthier lifestyle. Great wait staff - room was dated (did not get the updated room) certain after a full renovation, this resort would be a favorite! Wish the meals can be a little more creative - esp. breakfast/lunch/tea - seems to almost similar for a week's stay but overall a great place, great memories and felt well rested when I got home! :D

There are so many great things about BodyHoliday it is tough to find a starting point. First the drive from the airport is long...and beautiful, and goes quickly. But as soon as you receive the the warm welcome upon getting out of the taxi(thank you James and Christie), you know you picked a special resort. From there is just gets better. The staff are so welcoming, genuine and friendly it is easy to see why there are so many repeat guests. We will be next. The food is fantastic and with the healthy options it is a choice to be healthy or indulge; we did both! You will not be disappointed. Cariblue was our favourite - a special hello goes out to Linnea(what a sweet heart), Mccarthy, Ronnie,Pierre who really made our stay special. Entertainment is good as is the "vibe" of Clubhouse - Nicholas and Ron are great ...,always attentive and ensured beer was served in a frosted mug!!! The Clubhouse is somewhat the meeting place to watch the sunset, meet up with new friends ( Agnes and Rupert and Ella) and acquaintances (Martin and Max) at tea time, after or before dinner, or any other time of day. For a chat about the days activities, good laughs and of course a cool drink. Activities...awwww...too many to write down all of them. Go, just go! Morning hikes, mountain bike rides, beach fit, spinning, yoga, Pilates, Tai chi; water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, standup paddle boatd, kayaks, hobie cats, sail boat lessons, scuba, snorkel, Aquafit, and more ...some hosted by BodyGuards...not what you think. Fitness instructors if you will. Lots of great personalities help keep eveyone fit and busy (if you choose). A shout out to Marline, Kennyson (thanks for the personal ride to Cotton Bay...), Sean, Marshall, and Gerald ( a terrific young man). don't have to be active...there is no pressure, just encouragement. We spent plenty of time just lazing on the beach and being spoiled...occassionally having drinks swam out to us on the floaties. It is all good fun. The staff work very hard to ensure all guests have such a great and memorable experience. We can't thank them enough for all they do The grounds are spectacular and the Spa is another treat on its own. Enough said. Rooms are nice...amenities are good as well. The resort also offered a Friday evening sunset cruise to see the resort from the water. It was tons of fun including having Gerald and Marshall leading the way on the dance floor. Lol... Well, that's quite a bit to take in. Everyone can complain and find faults if they really try hard enough...but why even look, Bodyholiday offers so much more that other resorts just can't do. To ALL the staff...thank you for making us feel at home and a part of your family.

I was previously promiced a 25% discount when I next booked the Body Holiday. I checked the daily room rate in the U.K. prior to contacting the resort in St Lucia. I proceeded to contact the resort and received a reply that they had given me not 25% but 35% discount. This was exactly the same rate I could have booked for in the U.K. They argued that this was the rate. I found this totally unacceptable and I would like to warn others that they have no integrity. They are only concerned how much money they can claim from people. I will not be booking with them again. Disgraceful Company. Ms M Foster
