Have just returned from trip #12 in 8 years and TBH continues to remain incredible in many ways and even better in others. As always, facilities, food, activities and treatments were top-notch. On this trip, I stayed in one of the renovated Grand Luxury Ocean Front suites (476) and it was very impressive. Nicely furnished, with strong WiFi, powerful/consistent air conditioning, and of course a spectacular view. Cariblue and the deli remain fantastic, and had a beautiful dinner at TAO, where they appear to have updated/tweaked the menu. Did not dine at Windows this time, but it still looked great. Afternoon tea at the clubhouse was excellent. For what it’s worth, the "elegantly casual" dress code for the piano bar and dinner at Cariblue seems to no longer be in effect – several gents in shorts/t-shirts/flip flops. Some may care about this change, some may not. Weather was perfect for the Friday evening sunset cruise – not to be missed. The communal table continues to be an excellent way to meet people. If you’re travelling solo (or even if you’re not), go to the piano bar at around 715 PM and inform the Bodyguard that you would like to join the communal table. The rest will all fall into place from there. If you’re an early riser, the 700 AM walk is also a great way to meet people and a wonderful way to start another day in paradise. Will conclude with a special note on the staff. Many reviewers have mentioned it, but these people are truly over-the-top incredible. From the bellmen who greet you when you arrive, to all the servers/bartenders, activities staff, spa staff, housekeeping, maintenance, front desk etc., they simply can’t do enough for you and will bend over backwards to take care of you. A very special culture has been created at TBH. I noticed that i) the staff live for customer service whether or not their manager or senior mgmt./ownership is around and watching. ii) staff jump in without hesitation to help colleagues, whether or not the issue is in their department or job description. Congratulations and kudos to everyone at TBH for cracking the code on building a winning, team-based culture. This is incredibly difficult to accomplish, so very well done, to all of you. See you in September :)

My friend and I arrived at the resort anticipating a luxury reprieve from a stressful stretch at work. Unfortunately, nothing could have been further from the case - although advertised as a luxury resort, from the almost inedible warmed over buffet (all inclusive only matters if you care to include the food offerings in your stomach), to the walk to the room (reminiscent of a high rise condo development and not a tranquil beach oasis), to the rooms themselves - everything about this placed screamed subpar. The rooms were stuffy, dank, and felt more like motel 6 level than 5 star anything. Although the beachfront view and location we'd booked were as advertised everything else was very disappointing. There was mildew in the bathrooms, and in one of our rooms no air conditioning so a large free standing AC unit was situated in the unit - the size of an industrial vacuum cleaner - no doubt with the same sound effects. No screens in the windows so enjoying fresh sea air was not an option given the bug population. The bottom line is that the place was so bad and not as advertised if one is expecting an actual 5 star experience that we left before staying even one night, One might criticize that we didn't give the resort a chance - here's the thing, my vacation isn't for a resort to prove it can make up for its deficiencies with solicitious staff or free drinks. We went willing to pay for a 5 star luxury experience and relaxing vacation. We got that - but not at bodyholiday - we hightailed it to a true luxury resort at the other end of the island....run don't walk away from the bodyholiday....

Do NOT book at this resort if you are expecting a luxury experience. We arrived at the resort in late January of 2017, and immediately noticed that the public areas were shabby. We were invited to have lunch at the buffet because our rooms were not ready, and the food offered was the equivalent of what you would find at a 2-star buffet in Las Vegas. After being shown to the rooms, which were "luxury ocean front," we were shocked by how substandard they were and not at all as advertised. The rooms had clearly not been updated in years, smelled of mildew, and the bathroom had mold in the shower. In addition, the air conditioning in my room was not working, and they had brought in a huge floor unit that was noisy and took up half the floor space. We did not unpack, went immediately to the front desk, and asked if there were any other rooms available. We were told that there were not, and that our rooms were "perfectly fine." The manager essentially asked me not to believe my lying eyes and tried to convince me that the rooms were nice. We had prepaid $6800 for two rooms for four nights. My friend and I agreed that the rooms were so disgusting that we could not stay there, and we called the Viceroy at Sugar Beach to see if they had rooms available. They did, and we made a reservation and arranged for a taxi service to drive us there. We were probably in the room for no more than 2-3 minutes at most, and we did not even open our suitcases. We then explained to the manager that the rooms were unacceptable and we would not be checking into the hotel. He told us that we would be charged the entire amount because of their "cancellation policy." I told the manager that we were not "cancelling," but rather that the resort was not at all as advertised, the accommodations were completely unacceptable, we had to find other accommodations at short notice, wasted an entire day of our short vacation driving all over the island, and spending hundreds of dollars on taxi fees. I offered to pay for one night as a compromise, and the management refused our offer. After much back and forth, they agreed to reimburse 50% of the charges as an "extraordinary accommodation," but have refused to reimburse us for the remaining amount. I have traveled all over the world and have never encountered such appalling service and horrible accommodations from a so-called luxury resort. When we left, the taxi driver asked why we were leaving and going to Sugar Beach. We told him that the accommodations were unacceptable, to which he replied: "I am not surprised. A lot of Brits stay there, but it is not up to American standards." Truer words were never spoken. The good news is that the Viceroy at Sugar Beach was stunningly beautiful and we had a wonderful time.

Picked this resort because it seemed that it would appeal to both me and my 18 year old for a trip that my husband and older child couldn't attend. It did not disappoint either of us. We met a great family from England with two 19 year olds, wonderful couple from the west coast, and solo male and female travelers in their 30s and 40s from Canada, the US and England that were so fun to hang out with. Everyone mixed and mingled and exchanged life and travel experiences. The sunset cruise and snorkel trip were highlights, the spa treatments each day were a welcome treat, the food was all delicious, the resort was very well kept up and the service from the staff was outstanding across the board. The beach attendants cannot do enough for you throughout the day and the Housekeeping was terrific. Huge fan of afternoon tea and scones. We really loved the golf instruction by Edwin. What a Terrific teacher. The vacation was a perfect mix of fun on land and water, relaxation, partying and exercise, fun snacks and healthy eating. Was hesitant about the quality given the all inclusive aspect, but it was very, very well done. Definite do-over!

Went there for short holiday and only wished we were there longer. Fantastic accommodations, incredible service and lots to do. While there are many many activities to partake in never feel pressure. Spa is fabulous. Highly recommend it and we will be back.
