Reviews for BodyHoliday Saint Lucia

I love Bodyholiday - but a few niggles

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

I have been to Bodyholiday for Jive June a number of times (and for the pre-Christmas restorative once). The fact that I keep returning is an indication of how much I love it here. The hotel is beautifully situated on the North-West tip of St Lucia, and the property is generally superbly maintained. I normally stay in an ocean front room - there are lower cost rooms for solo travellers but I love being close to the beach and hearing the sound of the waves with my balcony doors open. Over the years, I have come to Bodyholiday solo, with my mother and with my partner - overall, I probably slightly prefer my solo trips as the hotel is very well set up to cater for solo travellers and you can really relax and do your own thing without worrying about whether the person you're with would prefer to be doing something else. There is always a full schedule of activities and classes, including yoga, tai chi, meditation, tennis, archery, sailing, kayaking, you name it. For a few years now, I've found it slightly frustrating that there tend to be fewer scheduled classes / activities on the weekend - I have historically timed my trips such that I'm there over two weekends so the relative lack of classes disproportionately affects me but this is a minor gripe and I never run out of things to do. The hotels runs a number of theme months and although I went in June on the first occasion by coincidence, I have chosen to return in June each year because of the dance theme - Jive June. There are typically a couple of "guest presenters" for the month, who tendto be professional dancers from Strictly Come Dancing or the international equivalents. This past couple of years, the guest presenters have been particularly excellent - Lauren Oakley from Strictly is a brilliant teacher and a genuinely lovely person, and this year she was accompanied by Alan Burkitt, a West End choreographer whose show tunes perfectly complemented Lauren's latin / ballroom. I can't express strongly enough how much of a difference having the right guest presenters can make to the success of the theme months. The "bodyguards" are also wonderful - enthusiastic, motivational class instructors by day and, in the evening, lively hosts of the communal dining table / evening entertainment. It was great to see Sherquil back this year, albeit briefly, and JJ was a particular stand-out for me this year too - again, I'm not sure enough credit is given to the bodyguards (and the other team members) whose personality, talent and energy go so such a long way to making the Bodyholiday experience what it is. The right people are worth their weight in gold. While I am on the subject of people, I highly recommend Edwin's tai chi classes (and I was very happy that he did a couple this year on the reefside deck just after lunch as I perennially struggle (fail) to make it to the Coubaril Valley for the early morning sessions 😂😂). Last but not least on the subject of people, Buki is an AMAZING meditation and yoga teacher - my sessions with Buki made my holiday this year 😊. The food is excellent - a mixture of buffet breakfast with e.g. an egg station, typically buffet and a la carte options for lunch and a la carte dinner (at the main restaurant plus Tao, which serves Asian Fusion and Windows which does themed tasting menus). This past couple of years, the resort has been quite considerably quieter at the end of May / into June. One consequence seems to have been a reduction in dining options particularly at lunchtime, with the main restaurant occasionally closed or serving more limited menu - again, a minor gripe, but I can't help feeling that the hotel may have pushed their pricing about as far as they should. The relative lack of people also had a slightly dampening effect on the atmosphere - in my opinion, anyway 😊. The daily inclusive spa treatments are generally excellent - the ladies in the spa work very hard and are normally lovely, so it's a shame when a bit of grumpiness occasionally slips through. I usually start my trip with a scrub, I LOVE the West Indian facial they have developed and my "go-to" is the serenity massage - by the end of my holiday, my shoulders may even have lost some of their perpetual knots 😂😂. Overall, I love Bodyholiday and the only reason I am not giving it 5 out of 5 is that there have been a few niggles over the past couple of years - price increases have been eye-watering, they have been late to confirm their guest presenters for Jive June, and I'm not sure they understand how completely vital the people are (the bodyguards, the other teachers, the food and beverage team, the spa ladies) to the success of the resort.

The Perfect Three Day Staycation at the BodyHoliday LeSport!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My husband surprised me with a wonderful three-day staycation at The BodyHoliday LeSport, and it was exactly what I needed before returning to work for the new academic year. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with cool towels and refreshing turmeric-and-ginger shots. Although our room was not quite ready, we were made comfortable at the restaurant, where we enjoyed drinks while we waited. Annika was especially helpful—she settled us into our room and even rearranged our plans so that we could enjoy the beautiful sunset cruise before dining at Tao. The cruise was peaceful, lively and unforgettable, while dinner at Tao was delicious and offered a wonderful new dining experience. Throughout our stay, the staff were pleasant, attentive and extremely accommodating, particularly concerning my serious food allergies. I always felt safe and well cared for. The breakfast buffet offered an impressive variety, but the Creole Corner—with its smoked herring, cucumbers, tomatoes and wonderfully soft roasted bake—was the star for me! My back massage at the stunning spa was another highlight; the therapist was patient, professional and so skilled that I left feeling as though a great weight had been lifted from my shoulders. We also enjoyed the pool, the beach, live local entertainment, delicious meals at the Wellness Café and Cariblue, and the beautiful presentation of every dish. This stay gave me an even deeper appreciation for the hardworking people in Saint Lucia’s hospitality industry. I left feeling rested, pampered and deeply grateful. I would happily return to The BodyHoliday.

Health focused getaway

Great resort. Lots of fitness activities and healthy food to choose from. Pizza and sandwiches also available at lunch. The highlight was Tao for dinner. Daily massages were good, some days better than others. Lots of stairs to get to the massage area. The meditation area was hard to find (staff couldn’t even point us in the right direction) and when we found it, we didn’t feel comfortable there. The room was lovely. Standard resort room. We had the grand oceanfront king room which had a nice big tub we could soak in. Mosquitoes made the balcony a bit difficult to enjoy in the evening. Webroom didn’t really work to book things ahead of time but staff was responsive via email and it was fine booking the rest when we arrived. Beautiful beachfront property but far from local tourist attractions and about a 2 hour drive from the airport.

50th birthday surprise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I recently took my daughter on a surprise trip to Body Holiday in St. Lucia for her 50th birthday. I can’t say enough good things about this resort. The resort is beautiful, the room overlooking the ocean was very nice. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is top level and the spa is amazing. I especially liked the kitty that roams the resort, mostly at night, Ginger. The only bad thing is that every other resort I go to after this will pale by comparison. Now I have to go home and save some money so I can go again. Thank you body holiday for an amazing trip for my daughter and I. Shelley Best

Every year I come to The BodyHoliday, I always feel that it can't get any better, but to my surprise, each holiday there does. I put it down to the dedication and the excellent service that the staff provides, and their desire to ensure that guests have the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday they possibly can.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the resort. With so many activities and treatments available it was different from any other trip I've taken to the islands.

A friend and I used Luxury Link for the first time to book a vacation to The BodyHoliday. I have to admit that I didn't know what to expect but it was probably the most amazing vacation I have ever taken. St. Lucia alone is stunning, but The BodyHoliday took the trip to a whole new level. The staff, the setting, the meals, the spa treatments and other guests far exceeded anything I could have imagined.

Four of my friends have since traveled to St. Lucia and The BodyHoliday and now know exactly what I was raving about! There isn't a week that goes by that I don't think about my next visit there.
