We do a lot of research on tripadvisor before we book our holiday, so it was no surprise that the staff and food are very good, we also knew it would be a relaxing holiday, however, we noticed when we arrived that there was hardly anybody about. We put it down to being very tired and things would be a bit livelier the next day after a good sleep. It wasn't, we were told the hotel was only 39% full, I suspect it was less. No worries about sunbeds on the beach, we had our pick every day, the evenings/entertainment were the same, about 20 people on average. We are not youngsters expecting a raving party atmosphere but we were expecting a few more people buzzing around. Some evenings at 7-7.30 in the piano bar, there were 4 people in. This must sound like a hatchet job, but I assure you it isn't, the friends we made were amazing and we had a laugh, the hotel is fantastic and we had a great holiday with some excellent photos. Recommend the Catamaran trip. Oh, and definitely do the tubing also the hobby cats but try keep the sail bit above the waterline though or you will get plenty of stick. Breakfast views are to die for and the Trysting Place was 5 star, special mention to Carmen. Incidentally, we were told by the hotel, the low occupancy was down to the time of year, but we went on a day pass to the Body Hotel and it was packed, I just can't work it out.

We went for two weeks early July 2017. it was the rainy season but the showers were brief and the weather still very warm if a bit humid. The hotel is lovely. Spotlessly clean with a lovely beach, two great swimming pools, a stunning terrace bar and three good restaurants. There are loads of free activities to enjoy. The best part is the lovely friendly staff who became more like friends and couldn't do enough for you. They were also extremely polite and likeable. It was a wonderfully relaxing holiday. Would also recommend doing the golf clinic with the island's professional golfer Peter David. He is an amazing teacher and very patient! Will definitely return!

We had been so looking forward to visiting this hotel with to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On the positive side we had a lovely beach front villa very close to the sea. Amazing. Very soon after unpacking we realised that the air con was not working. We loved the position of the room so we decided to decamp to the room two away for the night. Later the next day the a/c was fixed. So then we enjoyed five days of enjoyment at this lovely hotel. Yes the staff are great and do remember your name which is wonderful. Later on during the holiday they serviced the a/c (we receieved a letter). This went on for a further 4 days, which became very uncomfortable for us both. The temperature rose to 85 degrees in the room!!!!!! We think because we had a beach front room we had more probs with the a/c than other rooms on the complex. As you can imagine we were very unhappy which actually ruined most of our holiday. We did see management who never came to see us - we had to seek them out. Not good enough for a hotel of this calibre. We have agreed to compensation from the Hotel and Virgin. We paid so much money to have a beach front room which we loved but sadly the whole holiday was spoilt by the a/c problem which should have been dealt with more efficiently. A message to the management of this hotel........ You have amazing staff - you have a wonderful beach front hotel please look after clients who have problems. As you can gather we won't be returning. Thank you to all the staff who looked after us at the Rendevzous.

This review will start with an apology to Rendezvous because my words will not be able to do justice to this breathtaking destination. My wife and I stayed for eight nights at the beginning of July. From the moment we arrived the service we received was first class. We were met at the entrance by a lovely man who escorted us to the bar area looking out over the sea. Drinks and cold towels were brought to us and then we were checked in by the wonderful Jacinta. She explained the restaurants and all the resort information and the escorted us to our room. We had a garden view room and it was lovely. Plenty of room, good furnishings, extremely comfortable bed with loads of storage. Fridge was filled with fresh water daily as was the ice bucket. Tea and coffee restocked daily. Also really nice bath products in the well equipped bathroom. The resort itself was immaculate. The gardens are beautifully presented, the beach is lovely and is a public beach but we found everyone really friendly. Now we come to the best bit about Rendezvous. The staff are beyond amazing. On our first night we ate at the Malabar beach restaurant. We were welcomed and asked if we wanted to check our shoes in as this was a sand between toes experience. The waiting staff were so friendly, the somililers really knowledgeable and the food presentation and taste was incredible. This theme continued throughout our stay at every restaurant and for every meal. Wonderful staff who were genuinely pleased to see you. Special mention to Francis (flower in her hair), Carman, yannick, Dwight and Kingsley for being wonderful. When you are resting on the beach, by the pools or on the lazy river then the staff are again so attentive. Continually bring you drinks to your sunbed. This is all done without it being invasive. Thank you Glen for keeping us hydrated. There is as much or as little to do as you want. The gym is well equipped and has A/C. The water sports facilities are great, events run throughout the day if you want to participate however no pressure is applied. The managers cocktail party is a lovely evening where guests and staff chat and swap stories. The champagne bar is a great place to hang out. The evening entertainment is great fun. The resort is built around you spending time with your partner. Each evening the bed is turned down, candles lit and soft music left playing for your return to your room. The spa is also a place of tranquility. I have never been to a spa but had a couples treatment that was wonderful. Again great staff who make you feel very special. I have missed out so much, but simple to say that this resort is incredible and I can't wait to revisit.

This is the best hotel that my wife and I have ever stayed in. The staff are brilliant. The food is excellent, and it was good to have a selection of places to eat in - it can be a bit tedious having three meals a day in the same restaurant. There was always plenty of space by the pool, where the atmosphere was friendly. The hotel grounds are lovely: lots of trees, and lots of hummmgbirds. The guests, unlike in some hotels, talk to each other. As it's a couples hotel, most of the guests seemed to be either (a) on honeymoon, or (b) old, like us! I took a kayak out a few times, and my brother did some sailing, both of which were part of the all-inclusive deal. The walk into Castries takes only a few minutes. The market there is worth a visit. We also walked along the beach to the lighthouse, from which there is a panoramic view. ... Speaking of which, Pigeon Island (St Lucia National Trust) is worth going to. The bus stop for Rodney Bay is a couple of minutes from the hotel, and public transport is cheap. Rodney Bay is about a 20-minute journey, and from there it's a 40-minute walk via Gros Islet. Even I didn't manage to get lost. Much cheaper then getting the water taxi. I have a couple of bits of advice: when you get on a bus (they are minibus size), say hello. That's what the locals do. When considering any sort of purchase, check whether the cost given is in EC dollars or US dollars. An EC dollar is about 30p. We went with my brother and sister-in-law as a special 60th birthday celebration for our wives. After a few days there we'd already decided that we will definitely be going back. Probably when my brother and I become old age pensioners!
