This hotel is a relaxing place to spend time with your partner on the beach. The beach front room we paid extra for was kept spotless and was well furnished. The thing that made the hotel in our eyes was the staff. I have never met more pleasant people in my entire life. I don't really want to single staff out because everyone was brilliant but Denson made sure our stay was special whilst Frances the waitress (always a flower in her hair) was lovely and Francis (the bar manager?) went out of his way to get me some Guinness when I tired of the local lager. The food was plentiful and tasty (big shout out to Veronica the egg lady!) and catered to most tastes. The pools were clean and the entertainment was good (specially liked the pianist and calypso band). Whilst recommending this hotel there are a couple of comments I would make: 1) The hotel primarily caters for couples of a certain age - if you are looking for a party holiday you are going to the wrong place. 2) Whilst there is a town a ten dollar taxi ride away there isn't anything to do and we were constantly hassled by people trying to sell us trips because they thought we were from the cruise ships. 3) Whilst the holiday was all inclusive the fridge in the room was not stocked and if you wanted a beer there was a charge. Don't let comments about an airport put you off as there are only about 10 small planes a day taking off and the noise only lasts about 15 seconds a time. As I said, all in all, the hotel is great but the overall package was very expensive and the 7* hotels in Mexico come in around Ā£2k cheaper with a flight upgrade thrown in.

Stayed for 10 days. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly, attentive and helpful. Absolutely no shortage of food or drink and all of it good quality. Activities always available and the instructors are good. Rained sometimes but the bar/restaurant areas are open to the beach/sea, but under cover, so - have ideal for another drink and sit back 'til it clears. The hotel is regularly dusted against insects so not even one bite during the stay.

As others have mentioned many times the Rendezvous staff make this resort special. The St. Lucian people are the friendliest in the Caribbean. The activities coordinators really did their job. We loved our seaside suite, which was kept immaculate by Frances, it was the prefect location for us. The only think I would change was to put some type of screen/door/curtain on the bathroom area. It was inconvenient when changing clothes if the drapes were open. We loved the champagne bar, wine service for lunch and dinner, diverse activities, saxophone player, and beach service The weather was not the greatest during our week. The beach was very rough, with a red flag most days and no green flag. The water was so rough we never went in. There was also an unusual influx of seaweed during this time. The resort worked diligently to clean up the beach, they got heavy equipment in to remove the seaweed, but of course this is the relaxing beach we were hoping to enjoy. This also made water sports difficult. We saw the Hobie cats out on a couple of occasions, but even then; the water was quite choppy. We ended up cancelling our sunset cruise, too bad that we hit a bad weather week. We did partake in many other activities; there is something for everyone and things we have not experienced before including mixology, St. Luica history lesson, water aerobics, learn to play a steel drum, botanical walk, massage lesson, and cooking lesson along with the usual volleyball, yoga, tennis and hikes. We were able to arrange a taxi to take us to church in Castries and we attended mass on Sunday. Again the people were very welcoming and it was a great experience. The cathedral has beautiful Caribbean murals on the inside. We enjoyed the food. There was something to eat pretty much all the time as the Malabar would set up snacks from 3-4 and the Terrace Bar had afternoon tea from 4:30-6:00 or so. The first night we ate in the French restaurant it took about 2 hours, which really dragged. It was our first night and I would not recommend eating there after traveling all day. I booked directly with the hotel coming from the US, knowing that many couples come from the UK and that we would be out numbered. This turned out to be no problem at all, we enjoyed talking to many Brits. I would also say as others have, this resort is very low key and is an older crowd. Do your homework an if you are looking for a party atmosphere with high energy entertainment you need to look elsewhere. All in all we had a great time.

My wife and I stayed at the Rendezvous for a week having stayed in Barbados the week before. We found this to be a very comfortable "Couples Only" resort with excellent facilities close to the local airport and only a short walk away from the centre of Castries. Please note that the hotel is very convenient if you are flying into the local airport as it is just a few minutes drive to the hotel. However if arriving into the International airport at the south of the island the transfer time can be in excess of an hour. Despite the hotel's proximity to the local airport we were not at any time troubled by aircraft noise as the airport only caters for smaller inter-island aircraft. The resort covers a wide area so it never felt crowded. There are essentially two beaches with plenty of sunloungers as well as two pools and the "wading river" which can be an oasis of peace and quiet. There are three restaurants on the resort. The Terrace restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with a mix of buffets and table d'hote menus with a good selection of food options available. For a more formal dining experience there is The Trysting Place which has more of a French feel. Finally there is the less formal Malabar beach restaurant which serves lunch and dinner overlooking the beach. The all-inclusive package has no restrictions on how many times you can eat in each restaurant. There are bars in the Terrace restaurant and a swim-up bar at the main pool. However drinks are available throughout the resort including on the beaches and elsewhere on the resort. I would particularly recommend the Caribbean Sizzle cocktail! We were allocated a ground floor Garden View room which was very comfortable and provided all of the facilities we needed for an enjoyable and relaxing week including our own small outside patio. Evening entertainment was a little uninspired, a week earlier we had been at the Sugar Bay Hotel in Barbados which was much better but at the end of a tiring day it was adequate. As the local tours and excursions were very expensive we opted instead to hire a car for two days to enable us to explore the island under our own steam and we particularly enjoyed Marigot Bay as well as our drive south to Soufriere, albeit along a very windy road. Unfortunately during our stay the hotel beaches had been inundated with seaweed on an unprecedented level which coupled with the strong winds limited our ability to swim in the sea during our stay. Our only criticism was that the check in process was somewhat disjointed. The hotel representative assigned to us became distracted on a number of occasions during the check in process by queries from other colleagues. However this was only mildly irritating and overall we had a most enjoyable week.

We have just returned from our second visit here. This hotel is absolutely paradise. The people who moan about the beach location and staff need to get a life..... The beach is gorgeous yes if you walk to the left their is a cemetery but what a perfect place to be laid to rest. The right is unused buildings but this does not affect the tranquility as you don't really see them as you're looking out to sea. And as for calling the staff grumpy this outrages me we have never been to a hotel with more attentive and caring staff they know you're name after a few hours. This is the most perfect adult only hotel fantastic pools grounds and rooms. You could not wish for better staff. The food is amazing at all restaurants. The evening entertainment great especially the police band. We cannot find any fault and will definitely be returning for a 3rd visit. So please do not let petty negative reviews dissuade you from visiting here. I give this 5* on all aspects. Staff that were exceptional were Imran Guildford and Cato.
