We love it here! It is a gorgeous corner of loveliness where you just switch off and relax. We last visited in 2023. There had been some upgrades and changes and I noted some less positive reviews but we booked anyway. We had read you had to pre book sun beds in busy season, since our last visit the sunbeds had doubled in number and all Have an umbrella and a chair! There is no shortage of beds or shade. We could not have been more pleased with our second visit. This is a family and couples resort. It is easy to avoid crowds. The far end of the beach is quiet, we also ate 8:30pm so restaurants were quieter. We didn’t see it as a problem. We were there in school holidays and it’s fine even if you usually go adult only. Beaches in St Lucia are public, apparently. However, this is the only resort on the beach and public access seems only to be by water. It was safe to leave things whilst you swam. Tip, swimming area is to the left of the beach, other end of good for paddling but it gets rocky. We stayed in the Oasis double room rather than a villa. We only used the room to sleep and it was incredible. There was an upstairs balcony with two loungers, Nespresso machine, fridge, hairdryer, gowns etc. Lots of controversy over the cost of AI. We wanted a lazy holiday and knew we were going to be mainly resort bound. We found the cost good value as we ate onsite. It so expensive to buy per meal. There are few things with an additional charge but it is very little. You can’t get a bottle of wine on AI but you can get endless glasses! We also checked out at 8am and had the day before our transfer and AI still applied. The restaurants were all great. You use OpenTable and can pre book - we pre booked before we arrived meaning we had to make zero decisions. It was easy to change bookings. Restaurants are busy 6-7:30 but easy to avoid crowds. We never left the beach until 6, enjoying post beach cocktails and a sunset. We ate late and it meant they were quiet. The food was faultless. We loved Upper Deck and Dragonfly and the Tapas was fab. Pappa Dons is okay but always busy. The beach is great, we were there when it was full and there is always beds. Some bonkers people go down at night to reserve the very front beds but don’t worry, there are loads! Staff were consistently incredible. Professional but relaxed and friendly, we were treated so well. Nothing was too much trouble and we were helped with anything. There is a shuttle to and from rooms so don’t be put off the hillside setting. You can boom yours with the hotel. There are boat tour vendors on the beach but they don’t hassle you and are respectful. Great watersports centre and everything is included apart from motorised ones. The transfer! We are from the UK so small roads with lots of bends are the norm. People seem to make a big deal about it. It’s 90 mins, we did a private transfer and it was a great way to see the island. Don’t let the transfer put you off. It’s totally fine. The Street Party at Gros Islet was fun and totally safe. We got a transfer from the hotel but you can also get a boat. There is a spa, we didn’t use it this time, if you want a treat- go for it. This is a place where you can switch off as a couple and be spoilt. We loved it and when we come back to St Lucia we will stay here again. Coming from the UK we booked a 10 day break because of the flight. It was perfect. The small time difference means there is no jet lag and BA do return flights overnight which helps.

Delightful 19 days at Windjammer! Safe, sandy beach, sunsets, bars and much-needed warmth. The staff are incredibly friendly, the apartments are clean and comfy and the whole place is a delight to the eye. The food has been improved enormously from last time I was there (hint- try the duck at the Upper Deck). Beautiful grounds kept by a hard-working bunch of cheery gardeners. The water sports are run by one of the long time stars of Windjammer - Gordon Michaud - one of the nicest people I know. Our maid Isadora was lovely. Nick runs Tours and is very nice and helpful. "Little" Lindon, Helen... - I could go on - too many others to mention - but they have all become friends and make us and our friends and family feel so welcome - thank you Windjammer you've become our home-from-home!

Nemiah was a pleasure to meet. He is working in activities, and a very kind, caring, and generous person. He was great with the kids and gave them lollipops which they enjoyed. He is just a bundle of joy and should definitely deserve a raise or a promotion. He is amazing, make sure to say hi if you stay at the Windjammer!!

Nemiah from the entertainment staff was the referee of the kids' pool volleyball game and they loved him! He was their favorite person! 😁 So great with the kids. Gave them lollipops that they loved! Super nice and deserving of a promotion or definitely a bonus. If you ever stop by, be sure say hi to him!

Beautiful hotel has everything you want on vacation beach, pool, 4 restaurants and a schedule of events daily Live entertainment every night musicians and singers. A system of shuttles to move you from room to reception An excellent breakfast buffet But what really makes this a 5 star is the staff Everyone asks your name and address you by your name, they are friendly and helpful. Around the grounds wherever beach or pool they bring you water or fruit or ice cream or some treat to make your day.
