Reviews for Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort

Very nice, but NOT 5 Stars!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 17 hours ago

It is so upsetting writing this review- as this trip was a much anticipated milestone birthday celebration-but it did not deliver as the Windjammer so heavily markets on their website and socials! Traveled 3rd week of May with my husband and 3 kids (8,4,1) and while there were pieces that were fantastic, overall Windjammer is FAR from 5 stars and unequivocally NOT a luxury property. SETTING The beach is stunning…clear blue, calm water bursting with wildlife and beauty and the true gem of the resort. The resort is a BOUTIQUE hotel, small and quaint, with very dated amenities. SERVICE Service was terrible. Not every encounter, but the staff largely gives the impression of being bothered by any request- small or large- and are not forthcoming with being helpful. You need to go out of your way in order to be accommodated by anyone. Once you do, they were for the most part attentive, but never once were things offered or taken care of without an ask first. We were there a week. Every little thing seemed big and I felt bad even asking for another napkin because the response and body language felt annoyed. Whatever you do ask for, order, or need…expect it to take FOREVER! Food- over an hour, housekeeping request, days (or never), pool/beach need- hours! Shuttle service was generally quick and easy but the drivers seem bothered to pick you up and RARELY gave a greeting or kind hello. FOOD The breakfast at Dragonfly is quite possibly the worst breakfast I’ve had ever at a hotel. While the man making eggs was phenomenal, it stopped there. Terrible service, abysmal food. No fresh squeezed juice, no fresh island fruit and largely stale pastries/bread and tastiness food. I’ve had better at hotels that are 4 times less the price! Jammers- dinner food and service- terrible! Lunch by the pool, much better! Uppercut- fantastic and best on the property!!! Dragonfly dinner- good, but food took over an hour and a half to come out with ZERO explanation despite asking what was going on multiple times!! Papa Dons- great service, horrible food! ROOM We stayed in a two bedroom ocean view villa with pool. The view….PHENOMENAL! The pool, tucked in a corner with no view…no fun!! While it is incredibly large and spacious and well decorated, it is extremely dated and unkempt. Not a match with the price per night! ACTIVITIES/ENTERTAINMENT The water sports are fantastic and the guys there are generally helpful. We enjoyed talking with them while they graciously helped us do MANY fun, exciting things but again we initiated that, otherwise it felt like they wanted no part of getting all the toys out for fun. The singing/music/fire performances were phenomenal!!! Really talented people who added so much excitement to our trip!! They wow’d us!! SPA I absolutely love massages and going to a spa and try to do this regularly wherever I am in the world….this spa is not worth it. The actual spa is so dated and nothing special and the masseuse needed instruction during the entire service and it still didn’t deliver. Very disappointing! TIPPING Completely insane how the resort has an expectation of the guest to tip for EVERY. LITTLE. THING. when the service for those things are so lackluster and without even a smile. We did the all inclusive and it still was expected EVERYWHERE. A real disappointment!! Overall, a true 5 star resort that promotes a luxurious stay like they do at this resort, is attentive, unbothered and goes the extra mile to make your VACATION relaxing and effortless. This is NOT the case at Windjammer. They really fall short on making it extra special and making the stay meet the expectation of the price to stay there! Unfortunately, we will not be back.

The Windjammer is 10/10

The BEST experience ever. My family & I stayed at the Windjammer in the Queen’s Manor Villa and it was such a beautiful space. The villa was 3 beds, 3.5 baths, multiple terraces, and a private pool. There’s a full kitchen and a living room area. The butlers and all the staff were extremely helpful, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Winsley, Marcus, and Dunstan took the best care of us. Any time we needed a ride, a reservation, a recommendation or ANYTHING they got it done. The food at this resort is phenomenal. Much better than your typical resort. Our favorite restaurant was jammer’s. But the Indian, steakhouse and Italian restaurants were also very good. We will be back!

Great family trip with some negatives

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Visited for 1 week in May with 11 members of my family as well as extended family. This included 5 kids aged 8 to 13 and 2 grandparents who are near 80. Positive -food was excellent at all the restaurants. Although if I had to choose, Upper Deck would take the #1 spot. -beach area is beautiful sand and well kept. -beach, pool and bars are all in close proximity . -staff are generally friendly and helpful Negatives -service was glacial. Every lunch and dinner was 1.5 to 3 hours. I don't understand why as it wasn't that busy. This was very frustrating. Fortunately, breakfast is a buffet. -even on an all inclusive you still have to sign a bill at every meal and I felt pressure to tip every time. - our room was a 2 room villa. It's fairly dated and could use a refresh. Cautions -this resort is built onto the side of a hill. Rooms and villas can be up or very up on the hill. Yes, a bunch of the rooms are walkable but the paths are very steep in some spots. The good news is they run shuttles and they are available in short order. Other -we didn't use the kids club so cannot comment on it.

Windjammer was amazing. The staff from check in to check out were top notch. Super friendly and nice. My butler's went above and beyond as well. They really do take great care of you. Will definitely try and go back

Lovely views, and beautiful lobby!

Would stay again ! We had some bumps along the road, but none that we’re not resolved with the help of management staff. I was promised it would get turned around and it was.❤️ upon check-in was given the royal treatment love the cold towels to wipe off on. However, staff needs to take a few lessons in customer service, especially when there is a water issue.. this resort is not far from OJ Spa, which is where I like to go for treatment. I very much enjoyed the sax player during dinner at dragonfly. The chicken curry was delicious at jammers!! Thank you to Lewis and management for continual following up with me. I’m hoping to lead a wellness retreat next year and my plan would be to stay there with my group.
