Definitely Worth It!

Our stay at Windjammer was great and relaxing. The staff were very friendly for the most part and very attentive. The service in the food and beverage outlets was very good. The room was amazing especially with our upgrade. The view from our room was breathtaking. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Wonderful Windjammer (but very expensive!)

This is a very honest review of our recent experience at this resort which I hope helps those considering booking. We are a well travelled family of 4 however we only took our 17 year old. We opted for a one bed villa and our son slept on a roll away bed that I requested in the lounge area. I heard the sofa bed wasn’t great and he’s really tall. It really would have been better with 2 bedrooms but the cost difference was huge. The villa was spacious and well equipped with a large terraced area and nicer than a normal hotel room in my opinion. Bed in the main bedroom was huge and super comfy - we slept very well. We were only 1 level up so our sea view was partial but this meant that we could walk up and down and not always rely on the shuttles (although the wait was never long and the drivers are very skilled getting in and out of very narrow places!) We were also right next to Papa Dons where there were some pools and a hot tub which no one used much. Positives: the estate itself is stunning full of beautiful and well maintained flowers and trees and the view from the beach up the hillside is incredible. I’d have love to have seen the vista from further up. The main pool and jammers area was also really nice. The staff work very hard and were always smiling - there are many people beavering away to make the place look great and give good service. Brandon on the beach and Jamal front of house were such gentlemen, they are a credit to Windjammer. There were some nice little touches like flavoured water stations and treats such as fruit skewers handed out on the beach. The beach was a bit cloudy / seaweedy in places however the nature around it was phenomenal- my husband love snorkelling and said it was superb. There was also a resident heron, pelican and we saw a hummingbird! My husband had a massage at the spa which was great. Constructive feedback: We weren’t on AI as we wanted to explore outside the resort. Cocktails etc were expected price, however some of the onsite dining was very over priced for the quality. We wanted to go to Papa Dons as right next door but not for those prices. We had a couple of nights in our villa due to sickness (no fault of the hotel) and relied on the shop which is just extortionate, really no need to inflate that high. It left a bad feeling tbh. Ice creams at the hatch 17 dollars for 2 scoops!!! When I wasn’t well one day I ordered a mint tea by the pool 8 dollars for a teabag and hot water!!!! The expectation on tipping over the added service charge needs to be much much clearer as everything purchased has to be signed for inc the breakfast buffet where we felt that staff were expecting something all the time. It’s not nice when you paid already for an expensive holiday. I’ve heard Sandals in St Lucia bans additional tips to make it easier. We did add extra tips occasionally but didn’t want to always feel we had to for every single thing. Breakfast was of a reasonable standard however the coffee was dreadful. On occasion things appeared like small amounts of fresh mango and avocado - more local produce would have refreshed it a bit. The smoothies and fresh bread rolls were excellent though. Service was a bit patchy more generally across the resort for example, sometimes we had water in the room sometimes not. Service on the beach was very slow when Brandon wasn’t around and simple food orders took nearly hour sometimes. Overall it was a relaxing stay bar the illness but with these prices I probably wouldn’t come back. We ate much better outside for much less. In summary it felt like a lower end 5 star with top end 5 star prices. Tip bring cash either US dollars or EC which are used interchangeably if you want to go offsite, the taxi service was great (they even waited to bring us home sometimes) but they don’t take cards. It would be helpful if there was a cash point onsite for such a big hotel.

Wonderful from start to finish

Wow, what an amazing place Windjammer Landing is! We had such a wonderful 9 nights staying here on the All Inclusive package. We were upgraded to a 2 bed beachfront villa which included butler service for the stay. The villa surpassed all of our expectations, fully equipped kitchen, large lounge/dining area, 2 separate bedrooms, one with king bed, one with 2 double beds, each with large en-suites complete with large showers and baths. There was also another separate bathroom with toilet which was really convenient. Each bedroom had its own balcony as well as a larger one off the main dining area. Our favourite part was the upper floor which housed a private pool and sunbathing area, complete with another sink and large table for dining. Just all amazing! The butler team were equally as fantastic during our stay. Being on hand to What's App whenever we needed anything, from room service to sunbeds reserved in our preferred areas. They happily stocked up our villa fridge with soft drinks and the wonderful Piton beer whenever it got low. We were even escorted to breakfast and our dinner reservations most times which truly makes the experience feel luxurious and usually meant we got the best tables in each restaurant. Big shout out to our fabulous Butler Team- Marcus, Karishna, Winsley and Bridget! The restaurants were all great but The Upper Deck stood out for us in terms of service and food. We didn't have one poor meal the whole stay though. Most of the menus are included in the AI plan apart from a few things on The Upper Deck menu which incurred an extra charge but the staff were really good at pointing those out to you so it's clear. We booked the 'Bean to Bar' excursion through the hotel which included a small private bus journey to get on our catamaran down to Soufriere; the Project Chocolat experience with hearty lunch included; volcanic mud bath and then back on the boat around to Sugar Beach for a swim or snorkel in between the stunning pitons. We then headed back in the sunset with some snacks, drinks and great atmosphere. Truly remarkable day. The hotel's beach was beautiful, clean and felt safe to swim in, with some hammocks and trampolines (which were used mostly to just lay and relax on). We made the most of the watersports on offer most days, kneeboarding, snorkelling gear, wakeboarding, SUP's and banana and chair boat rides. I think the motorised sports are only complimentary if you are on the AI package. Overall we truly had a holiday we will never forget, it is such a stunning resort and we would highly recommend it.

Our second home. Perfection!

We have been visiting Windjammer since 2013 and love it every time we go. We now go as a family with our two sons and they adore the place. Windjammer is a gated resort where we have always felt safe, welcomed and treated so well. You will stay in either a villa or apartments - all of which are spacious and unique. The whole report has been undergoing upgrades taking it from excellent to outstanding. Some villas are more Caribbean (with what we see as a Spanish influence too) and others are more contemporary. Villas accommodate all different group sizes too. The further up the hillside you stay there are amazing views - but don't worry about the steep slopes because there are free shuttle buses that take people around. The resort has a range of on-site restaurants (Jammers, Embers, Marsala, Perch, Dragonfly, Upper Deck and Papa Dons). Some of the places are great for breakfast, a light bite or more substantial lunch and then great evening meals. You can eat out and add it on your room to pay at the end of your stay or go all-inclusive (check the daily rates out). Some families go on AI deals to Windjammer too. There are pools all around the resort - a main pool which was upgraded in 2024, a shallow pool for kids, two additional pools by the Coastline Suites and two more pools by Papa Dons (which are always very quiet). You can chill in the pool loungers or join in with a morning aqua class. There are sun loungers around the resort (by the pools and all along the beach). Staff are on hand to chat, make you feel totally at home and to help with any drinks and food throughout the day. On our last visit there a few weeks ago we had the best service from the nicest staff - who really makes us feel that we are home again. Bars to enjoy. You can sit around the main bar at Jammers by the main pool area or head down to the beach bars at Embers or head along to the cosy little beach bar 96 degrees where you will experience amazing cocktails and meet new friends. Why choose Windjammer? Windjammer is a place where families are so so friendly. We always make new friends and link back up with our Windjammer family. Our children love being here and everyone knows them and they connect easily with others. The staff are amazing! Everyone stops to chat and say hello. You feel included and part of it all. No request is too much and staff go the extra mile. We cannot wait to head back again.

Extremely Disappointed – Do Not Recommend I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience because this resort does not live up to its high rating. We are deeply disappointed that we wasted both our vacation time and money here. Room & Cleanliness Issues: • Delayed Check-In: Our room was not ready until nearly 6:00 PM, despite a standard 3:00 PM check-in. • Unsanitary Mattress: Upon entering the room, we found a heavily stained, filthy mattress that immediately had to be replaced. • Poor Service: Our room was completely skipped by housekeeping on the second day. We had to remind staff daily for the rest of our stay just to get basic service. At one point, when we asked for a towel, we were handed an unrolled, dirty one because no clean ones were available. Property Grounds: The resort feels completely rundown. The beach and pool chair cushions are heavily stained. Worse, there were dead flies floating in the pool that staff never bothered to clean out. Dining & Food Safety Concerns: The food was virtually inedible across all restaurants, with the sole exception of the steakhouse. The fruit was un-fresh, the sushi was poor quality, and a simple order of steamed vegetables was drenched in butter twice, even after I specifically asked for a replacement without it. Most alarming was a major health code violation at the pool. We were served the wrong meal, and my daughter started eating it. When the waitress realized the mistake, she took the partially eaten food from us and served it directly to another guest.
