Secrets Aura Cozumel

The beach was amazing!!! Resort is ok, food ok and entertainment was also ok and some of the people that work there is nice and some not.. in closing if you want to explore the the island rent a mowped from the Solymar scooter rental in between the aduls only an the Secreats family resort his name is Roger Huchim the best man ever they are very nice an honest.

A great trip with friends! Staff were excellent and helpful. Enjoyed activities at the pool (water volleyball) and spent a lot of time on the beach. You can snorkel right on the shore of the resort. It is easy to take a taxi right to downtown Cozumel for a day of shopping. Many excursions also pick you up right from the dock of the resort. (Just pay a dock fee)

I read a lot of reviews and depending on your perspective both the good and the bad reviews were accurate. For us, the experience was great. I'm going to say this. If your holiday is dependent on having a perfect room with everything in immaculate order and every experience has to be perfect, then you are probably not going to enjoy this place. They are making their way around with Renos and so the rooms were a little dated. They are doing their best to work with some dated infrastructure until the Renos are complete. Yes ... some things didn't always work the best, but consider how hard it is to maintain a building next to a sea in the middle of a jungle. I can give them a pass on that because I know they are working on improving it. The food was great, the drinks were flowing, the service poolside was terrific and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. Sometimes it was limited in the buffet but who cares. For us, our experience is always the people who are working at the resort. And they were awesome. The entertainment crew felt like family (shout out to Wendy, Artimo (Timo) and Irving, - these people need a raise. My goodness, their enthusiasm and overwhelming positivity made up for whatever little nook and cranny complaint we could have had. It was our anniversary and Irving made a special trip over to my wife with no other purpose than to congratulate her. He didn't have to do this, just did it because he's a good human. Warm fuzzies all around. Casino nights ... super fun. Karaoke night ... hilarious. Carlos and his team at the Teppanyaki were incredible. The concierge and the pool concierge were terrific. Ummm ... we could have done without the Hyatt timeshare thing. It was the only thing that we experienced that made us uncomfortable. We would go back. Lots of fun. Great snokeling off the beach, great fishing nearby and if you get a chance to go into town ... everyone has GOT to go to Guidos Italian/seafood place. We had one of those meals you talk about for years.

This resort was much better than I expected. There were lots of negative reviews so I was worried but overall it was a great value. The location can't be beat. The beach is gorgeous and it was very relaxing. The staff is very kind and work hard--just seemed like they were kind of overwhelmed/needed more service staff and fewer people working the timeshare game. I will definitely consider coming back. Our room was large and clean. The bathroom still needed updating, but it got the job done. We stayed non-preferred ocean view and were so pleased with our spot--in the lobby building and away from some of the hustle and bustle of the main and preferred pools. Food was okay--but it was plentiful and that's why I do all-inclusive--to not have to think about where and when we will eat! Breakfast at Oceana in particular was a highlight. Can't beat that view and the chilaquiles were delicious! No, it's not the same as Secrets Akumal--but it cost me half as much which is a real bargain in my book!

Poor overall experience. Poor food quality. No variety in food options of restaurants. Lack of entertainment and resort activities. Pool and beach area, several broken lounge chairs. App was useless. Room service extensions did not work and unable to utilize room service. A maintenance worker ordered room service for us b/c of non-functional room phone. Room door would close unless forcefully shut.
