This was our 3rd vacation at Secrets Aura Cozumel. We have loved it every time. Yussell greets us as we arrive and hugs us when we leave. It feels like we are visiting family while we are here. We will definitely be back.

All the bad things that everybody says about this resort are true, plus the place is old and they don’t take care of it we lost power two days, other people had no hot water, the food is just so so, and if you don’t have the preferred area you are not allowed into it and that is where the better pool and beach areas are. Also, the beach is full of rocks you cannot walk into it

This was our first trip to Secrets Cozumel. We are Unlimited Vacation Club Members an have previously stayed at Secrets Maroma, Secrets Jamaica, and Secrets Playa Mujueres. This does not even hold a candle to these other properties! 1) Our room smelled like mold and had a horrible Musty Smell. We complained about this a few times and they simply suggested another room that had the same smell! ****Please note: The room we stayed in was not the rooms that they have pictured on the website. They have a whole section here with older rooms, not all the rooms here are updated and modern! Very deceiving and misleading. *** Make sure you find out ahead of time what your room will look like!!!! If you booked preferred you will have a modern room. 2) Secrets is supposed to be an adults only resort, however we have seen parents and their children eating at the resteraunts on the Secrets side as well as freely walking around the resort and using the pool area. *** Please Note: As Secrets Guests you are allowed access to Sunscape Sabor, but they are Not Supposed to have access to the Secrets Resort because it is Adults Only. **** When we mentioned this to the Secrets staff they did nothing about this and did not seem to care at all. 3) The Breakfast Buffet is very minimal to say the least! Very small buffet with the same options daily! So don’t expect much from breakfast. 4) There are no straws, due to preserving ocean life. So bring reusable straw with you! 5) There are very few umbrellas at the beach and pool, it’s very challenging finding shade so if you want an umbrella you need to go out very early, otherwise the very few seats that have an umbrella are gone by 9:30am. 6) There is only 1 Jacuzzi next to the Oceana Pool, it was dirty and had a bad smell. 7) The Nightly entertainment is just ok. The best show is probably the fire show. The nightly shows are often shared with Sunscabe Sabor. Some Positives: 1) The foam party was a lot of fun! 2) The desserts were delicious! As well as Bordeaux, El Patio, and Oceana for dinner. Overall this resort does NOT hold up the High Secrets Standards!! So don’t have high expectations when coming, but overall it was a decent vacation, but we will not be back.

Sadly this Secrets resort does not live up to its sister resorts. The location and the outside grounds are beautiful and well maintained. My husband and I had an ocean front suite. The minute we opened the door, the mustiness was overwhelming. Then when I opened the door to the bathroom, the smell was worse. The shower head and hose were corroded and the grout was disgusting. Luckily we had a large Lanai with a fan and I spent a lot of time out there. We did not have the best weather, but of course that can’t fixed. Management did try to find us another room, but because there was a huge cycling event they were fully booked. (Again not their fault). One of the couples was in a newly renovated room and it was beautiful. Maybe coincidentally, I started coughing that day and each day felt worse and worse, to the point I missed most actitudes and some meals.

I will make it quick and simple. When food is terrible , you run an hotel understaffed ( in restaurants, bars, housekeeping and maintenance ) and can’t keep the A/C working ( it stopped working 4 times during our 3 nights) , what can you say???? It is incredible that this property has some positive reviews. It’s is imposible to have mixed reviews on this subjects. The staff tries to do the imposible, but can’t achieve even a 3 star service.
