When in Secrets Aura you must dine in Bordeaux Restaurant. Gaudencio the waiter was great, pleasant and had a wealth of information. Great conversation and the food was spectacular. Their flame banana desert was over the top decadent!!! Not only was it a dessert, it was a performance. Great job Gaudencio. !!

We had a great time. Staff was great and friendly. Our room was clean and large. Food was good. We felt safe and appreciated the whole trip. We did not want to leave. The people complaining forget you are not in USA and not paying USA prices. We will return.

This all-inclusive resort looks really good. Great grounds, landscaping, pools, well maintained facilities, etc. Unfortunately, the hot water didn't work, the floor in the air conditioned room was constantly wet and slippery, the food quality was inconsistent at best and poorly prepared at worst. Room service food arrived cold ... which doesn't make hard cooked 'sunny side up' eggs palatable. Table service in the restaurants could take up to an hour just to order. We couldn't sit on our balcony at night without the constant boom-boom-boom from the night club reverberating until after midnight. The roof-top bar didn't have any alcoholic beverages.

We arrived at SunScape and were immediately upgraded to a pool view room towards the back of Secrets for our anniversary, which was very nice. Despite the long walk to the room everyday, the room was a nice size with a comfortable sitting area. We dined at the Bordeaux french restaurant quite often along with the Oceana. Both had excellent food and service. The other nice restaurant right off the lobby had terrible service for lunch with too many waiters waiting on you. One waiter did not notice the time in-between being seated and served nor the other waiters coming along as well. Food was brought our by yet another server directly from the kitchen. Bars served premium liquor. Portions were gourmet and rather small. After awhile the "turf and surf" (steak and shrimp) got to be a little mundane. For the price Secrets charged we expected lobster, which was not served. One needed to be a guest in a "premium room" overlooking the ocean for access to the Sushi Restaurant and Skytop Bar as well as to be able to use a tiki hut/plush lounge chair. Overall, there were not enough umbrellas around the beach area for all of the guests to use. Activities during the day were minimal to include bocce ball, water aerobics, horse shoes, etc. Nightly entertainment was good; however, there was no entertainment on Saturday night. Snorkel/diving trips departed frequently from the dock. Our 3 stop snorkel was cancelled in the morning and moved to the afternoon Great trip! Paddleboats, kyacks, and sailboats were available at Sunscape to sign out. Unfortunately, there was hardly any wind to sail. Taxis to go into downtown to shop or take a ferry were $24 round trip - a little high. No bus transportation was available. Overall, a nice hotel but not worth the price. Sandals/Beaches are a better choice.

The location of the resort was great. It had a beautiful beach and a gorgeous pier (that we jumped off of). There were many lounge chairs along the beach with great waitstaff ready to deliver a drink. The pools were great, though we mainly stayed in the Manatee pool, which included a couple of water slides that made for fun. The restaraunts overlooked the ocean and we watched a wedding (very nice) and saw several people enjoying a romantic dinner along the beach with their own personal waiter. We did not pay for this service, but it looked nice. The food was fine. Not fantastic, but not bad either. We did enjoy the selection from seafood one night, ribs another night, and pizza at the neighboring resort. I'd have to say my favorite meal was breakfast. There was a good buffet that had a good selection. Our room had a nice view of the ocean and the pool. The maid service was great. She restocked our fridge and made sure that everything was taken care of. We did experience some concerns with our first room, but after expressing those concerns, we were taken care of with no problems at all. The staff was great. Friendly, helpful, and professional. My favorite part was the Entertainment staff. They were great. They had events all day long each day. Beach volleyball, pool volleyball, archery, bingo in the pool, kayak lessons, water aerobics, they were great. We enjoyed a traditional Mexican dinner one night out on the beach. The food was good, but the entertainment following the dinner was great. Shout out to Hot Chocolate!
