What do you want to read first? The bad of course….but hang with me. The bad: Being a "Preferred Club" guest apparently means a forced hike from the main lobby and across the resort with your own luggage. It was such a trek I thought I was being kidnapped for a timeshare presentation. Once settled, the Club Lounge didn't quite hit the mark—think a "inconsistent/oddly irregular " pool table and "restrooms that smelled like a porta-potty." The women in our group refused to use it. The snack bar was a food ghost town, and I had to play contortionist to grab a subpar mini-bun from behind a cooler because the bartender was slammed. Oh, and if you like a side of "low battery chirp" with your sushi, the Asian restaurant has you covered. The Good: Safety was a non-issue. We braved the bustling Cozumel tourist shops to hunt for 'authentic' souvenirs (mostly made in Taiwan). The area is heavily patrolled, which our cabby mentioned is the standard local vibe—nothing to do with the cartel headlines you see elsewhere. We felt totally at ease. If you can get past the small stuff, the place is actually a gem. It’s a small-scale resort, so you aren't fighting crowds at the buffet. The French restaurant is stellar, the beach is pristine (no vendors!), and our room was so close to the water we could practically touch it. Housekeeping was on point, and they managed to keep up with our mini-fridge demands. It’s safe, quiet, and clearly a favorite as we met a bunch of "repeaters." Twice during our stay the buffet moved beachside followed by entertainment. Heard an awesome cover band-the kind where the sax player walks among the tables rockin it. The staff are genuinely friendly and are willing to go of their way to help. There’s an app map that you can use to navigate around the resort which I found useful. We generally don’t stay at the same resort twice but I can see why some do. I say: Go

After first night in a shabby room all went well. We got transferred to a room per our booking level. Great food Great drinks Great property layout And great staff. Shout out to Wendy, at the pool, Kena and Juan at the buffet. They all did a great job of making it a fun experience. Kena, after one visit remembered my name as we stopped in daily for breakfast. Great experience here and would for sure return.

Secrets should be a secret nobody finds out about at this time. They have massive issues that need to be fixed and do not meet basic expectations of an all inclusive resort. No activities, no nightlife atmosphere, barely any places to go and the ones that are there were not open half the time. I see potential in this location but ownership needs to wake up and make some serious changes. It’s floating on the boundary of fraud at this point with how much it felt like it wasn’t an all inclusive. Especially since I have been to many. But every resort has its bad times so hopefully they turn it around.

We just returned from Secrets Aura Cozumel Mar 13, 2026. We went to Cozumel for the Scuba Diving and had 6 amazing Dives. We had read many negative reviews about the resort, but the resort was excellent! Yes the Resort is dated but was being worked on while we were there. Our room had been updated, lots of hot water and pressure, Airconditioning worked great. Maid service from Ceci was outstanding! All of the staff were very friendly, pleasant, polite and eager to assist, they spend tireless hours ensuring everything is great! The restaurant staff rotate through the many different restaurants. We had repeat visits to the Bordeaux and Gohan restaurants. The staff in the Gohan restaurant were exceptionally great, the Captain; Marcel, Waiters; Dolores, Adiel, Rodrigo, and the Chefs; Luis and Gerardo. The Market cafe had some oustanding staff also, Eloisa and Rene. Our favorite bartender in the sky bar; Leonel was amazing, endless assortment of great cocktails. Thank-you to all of the staff for making our vacation unforgetable!

Was sorely disappointed in the quality of resort in general. It was antiquated and needs a remodel/update desperately. The food was bland and not good. Bordeaux was the best but you can only eat the same meal so many times.

Truly a five star place - the resort never seemed crowded and maintained a quiet vibe. The food was outstanding at every meal. I would recommend this resort to anyone at any time without blinking. We will definitely return to this resort.
