Secrets Aura Cozumel

We had a great experience at Secrets Aura in February 2026! Our room type was Preferred Superior Ocean View and it met all of our needs. We really liked the preferred perks. The staff was amazingly friendly, the food was good, the location can’t be beat, and the snorkeling out in front of the resort was awesome! We just returned home yesterday and I miss it already. Yes, it is an older resort, but the value and location make it worth it. The main thing that can be improved would be providing more beach chairs. Next, would be possibly heating the pools in the winter. The pool water was chilly! Overall, I would for sure stay there again and I hope I get the opportunity in the future!

Stayed @ Secrets on a dive vacation. Diving was nice when the weather cleared due to windy conditions & operator was very good! Facilities are just OK. All inclusive food service was below expectation to really bad- servers tried hard & were anxious to please. With alcohol available in all inclusive packages, there was pretty much non stop drinking by most clientele. If that’s your jam have at it- I would not go back.

We used Hyatt points to book this. If I had spent actual money to stay here I'd be really angry. We are hyatt globalists and didn't get any of the globalist benefits during our stay. This place is overpriced for what you are getting. It's a 2 star hotel at the most. Just be prepared. Really Lower your expectations. The rooms (even the nicer ones) are not that nice. We were in a newer upgrade area and the room stll smelled moldy. I've stayed in other resorts on the island and they don't have that problem. Our mini fridge was broken, called for maintenance and some one showed up rather quickly, looked at it and left. Didn't fix it. Called again and we were ignored for the remainder of our stay. Our broken mini fridge was never restocked. Not that it mattered because all the drinks were warm anyway. Housekeeping didn't leave us any towels one day. A bunch of little things like that. None of the doors/ drawers closed. The paint was really badly applied. There are absolutely no outlets in the room. No USB outlets. No night tables or lights on both sides of the bed. The 'specialty' restaurants are mid at best. The food really isn't that good. Except the fish tacos at oceana those are amazing. Got served raw meat at breakfast. Dessert is all the same everywhere. A lot of very loud drunk people, that's the whole vibe of this resort. The beach is really nice and there is some nice snorkeling. There are not enough lounge chairs and inconsidetate people get up at dawn to mark their territory and not use them for most of the day. The gym was actually pretty nice and decently outfitted. We checked out early to go to a different resort on the island and we're much happier. All the people who left bad reviews before me. Believe them. I also thought "oh it couldn't be that bad".

My room was nice. Others in my group had difficulty! The food is awful! Breakfast was always served warm never hot! Limited food choice at pool! They couldn’t even get the nachos right! Staff friendly and helpful!

Stayed in preferred junior suite panoramic view with two balconies, feb 2026. Room was not in same area as our friends with preferred club rooms. room amenities were good. OLder hotel with a great beach, private dock for excursion pick ups. snorkeling off beach, plenty of tour help, convenient for scooter and jeep day rentals for exploring. Employees were helpful, friendly, professional. Atmosphere was low key, some daily activity, beach volleyball, pool aerobics, no after dinner entertainment or night life at hotel. no Mexican dancing, music, ( darn), no theme parties, did have the most amazing superbowl beach watch party. Buffet, not good. Specialty restaurants good, hour wait time, inside seating with men wearing pants. drinks and pool bar where good. Cooler nights and high wind make for cold water. Funny that there not always enough chairs on beach or at pool to sit, though most save chairs are not occupied. employees try to keep up with this and will remove items after two hours if not occupied. Spa was amazing and well worth a visit. biggest gym with good equipment and space Plenty of drinks, top shelf with preferred. great hotel , if you don’t want after dinner activities, or need great food. If you’re going to relax , get some sun, snorkel, drink, explore it’s a great hotel. Definitely get preferred club suits.
