Secrets Aura Cozumel

Abismal. Poor. Disappointing. Over priced. The property needs a major remodel. Our room was falling apart. The light fell out of the ceiling in the bath room on the first night. The Air conditioning didn’t work and wasn’t fixed until after our second night. The jacuzzi in the room didn’t work. There was no plug to even use the jacuzzi/tub in our room. Lots of spiders in our room. Not a lot of activities available. New Year’s Eve party was more like a boring chamber of commerce meeting than an end of year celebration. Food was poor quality. Left over food was recycled to buffet the next day. We came as a group and everyone had various issues with their rooms. Staff is great as long as you feed them tips constantly. If not they will act like you are a problem. Don’t bother complaining to the desk agents or consierge they will promise to fix everything and then never follow up when they say they will. WiFi never worked in our room. TV only worked on the last night of our week long stay. Maintenance showed up twice. Once to fix the AC, then again to fix the AC that was already fixed!?! Elevator in the building we were in didn’t work for a couple days. House keeping took our towels and didn’t replace them with fresh ones 3 times. House keeping went though our luggage, didn’t take anything but clearly went through our belongings.

Got engaged at Secrets Aura! We had a lovely time. The beach with beautiful, the restaurants and the service were amazing. The lovely hostess at the buffet remembered us every day and remembered my diet restriction. Carlos and Rodrigo at roof top hibachi were amazing and that was a great experience and delicious food. We had an amazing time playing beach/ pool volleyball and participating in events. Wendy, Temo, and Irving with the entertainment committee really made our time memorable! We also did hydrotherapy at the spa which was amazing for the price and such a unique experience. Our room was clean and going down the water slide outside our room was so fun. Overall, an amazing trip.

Mediocre resort, beach and pools are fine, but food is shockingly bad compared to other Secrets resorts. I probably would not go again. Other families were leaving early due to being literally hungry from no food options.

The level of room you select makes all the difference. I originally was booked into a swim up room that was not a preferred members room and was later moved due to having no running water. If you are a preferred member the rooms are very nice other than that very outdated.

This resort is not worth the money we paid, it is run down! AC doesn't work in alot of rooms,cool to cold water for a shower ,drain line leaked under stinks etc.(they had black tape wrapped around it) Pools are not heated for cooler months. Spa is next door at another resort. Several restaurants not open. We heard it will be remodeled next year, I sure hope so. The biggest draw to this resort is its couples only and the reef is right at the beach for easy scuba diving.
