My husband and I embarked upon our first trip to Cozumel this year (February/March). In general, we appreciated our 12 day experience at Secrets Aura. The beach is absolutely lovely and the water provides great opportunities for snorkelling. We found the food at the various establishments to be quite tasty and all the servers were most gracious and friendly. After 12 days, we did find the menus rather limited in their offerings. The Bordeaux Restaurant was a favourite that provided a quiet atmosphere and good food that was beautifully presented. The Olio and Windows also offered enjoyable dining experiences. We found ourselves at the Oceana most days for both breakfast and lunch. Rosana greeted us upon our arrival at each visit, quickly learning our names and room numbers. Her warm and friendly manner set a relaxed atmosphere for the restaurant. Elizabeth and Cristel were wonderful servers who were very attentive to any menu changes we requested. Several activities were provided throughout the day. The employees leading these events were very enthusiastic although the volume of the music accompanying these activities often made it difficult to chat with people if you were trying to enjoy some time at poolside. The evening entertainment was varied and we appreciated performances by Show Time, the Fire Show, the Mayan Show and Circus Night. Our real disappointment revolved around our room. We had booked our stay at Dreams, however, rooms were not available there and we were “upgraded” to Secrets. This resort is over 20 years old and the units are old and tired. We resided in a swim-out room that smelled very musty. We found mold on the lampshade and on one wall. Even our sheets felt damp. I did bring my concerns to the management and trust that the ventilation in the room will be addressed. We did appreciate stepping out into the pool and found that the surrounding deck provided a feeling of secluded privacy. On the whole, we had a satisfactory visit and appreciated our introduction to Cozumel and the Mayan people.

Secrets Cozumel employees were awesome! LUZ and Irving were amazing and some of best we encountered. Resort needs updating but the employees made up for it!

I normally don't do or try anything under at a minimum of 4 stars. From my research this resort was between and 3.4 to 3.6. I was traveling with a family member and they wanted to go to this resort. I will surely stick with my 4+ stars standard. This resort could really use some upgrading. It wasn't nasty but needs to be refreshed. The staff Alonso, Julie, Eloisa, Sergio, Yonathan, Moises, Bene, our FAVORITE 2 young ladies Wendy and Luz and the others made the stay pleasant. Some of the guest were just as pleasant as well. We are not party animals by no means but the activities and the food were "meeh" This resort displayed a place of mostly a well seasoned much older group and there is nothing wrong with that and they seem to enjoy it. There were some younger adults there too. We still got some much need relaxation.

We had a group of 14. 7 rooms. 3 of our rooms were not available.we were downgraded from beachfront to oceanview. Had these rooms booked months in advance. How do you mess up on 3 out of 7 rooms. I hope we get refunded the difference on the rooms but that's not going well either. Beach-good, Rooms-good, Entertainment-good, Food-good, Service-fair. The resort as a whole is fair but not worth the hype.

This was by far the worst secrets we've ever stayed at. We had to hot water to shower. Our TV didn't work for a couple of days. The food at the buffet was way better over at Dreams. If you want to go to Cozumel, I'd stay at Dreams and not Secrets.

Truly a five star place - the resort never seemed crowded and maintained a quiet vibe. The food was outstanding at every meal. I would recommend this resort to anyone at any time without blinking. We will definitely return to this resort.
