Secrets Aura Cozumel

Amazing resort that is budget friendly! Our experience was more than what we were expecting for the price. We loved that this resort isn't overly large, therefore didn't require golf carts or long distance walking to get to restaurants, beach or pools. There was always seating open. The staff was all very kind and remembered our names instantly, especially Luz and Emilio with the entertainment team and Manuel "Manny" at Manatee bar. The food was all very good. We had 2 rooms with ocean view, which as long as you aren't on the first floor there can't be a bad view on the resort. Our king bedroom was updated and very nice. Our 2 queen room was nice but needed some fixes, but nothing that affected our ability to have fun and enjoy ourselves. Will definitely be back to this resort!

Have stayed at a few Secrets resorts and this one in Cozumel is definitely the worst … The buffet food was inedible, the other restaurants were barely any better.. we had to eat at Dreams next door to get a decent meal The cocktails were either watered down or had the same unpleasant mix in any drink labeled tropical! .. pool lights were literally hanging in pool in multiple places cord and all floating in pool ! Thunder and lightning storm came and they don’t clear out the pool so I guess they’re not concerned about safety.. I could go on and on but do yourself a favor and avoid this place Heard they were closing in stages in July for a complete renovation and boy do they need it !

We will never go back to this resort ever again. We had to to unpack and repack and move to multiple different rooms. The resort was very old and outdated. Pool lighting had fallen out into the pool, so many negative experiences to even write about.

The grounds were beautiful, atmosphere was happy and helpful, rooms were spacious, value was as expected, top notch cleanliness, no problem with noise, service was very hospitable! The restaurants were okay but we wished for more authentic Mexican choices. The evening entertainment was not the greatest. But the pool entertainment was by far the best we've ever had! Aaron and Carlos help make the afternoons a blast with pool volleyball and water aerobics: it was FAR from typical! Aaron had us laughing the whole time!

We recently stayed at Secrets Aura Cozumel and left very disappointed. The property is badly run down and in need of significant maintenance and renovation. While the beach is beautiful and the staff worked hard to provide good service, it was clear they were operating in a resort that has been neglected for years. Our original room (#632) overlooked an active construction site, far from the relaxing luxury experience we expected. The room and location were so disappointing that I paid an additional $1,800 to move to accommodations that better matched the resort's marketing. The food was acceptable but unremarkable. Overall, the resort feels outdated, poorly maintained, and does not justify its premium pricing. The beach and staff were the highlights of our stay, but they could not overcome the condition of the property. Mexico offers many excellent resort options, and unfortunately this is not one we would recommend or return to.
