Secrets Aura Cozumel

We are hoping that they remodel this hotel soon. We love the location, but having no clue about the construction that was going on during our stay really put a hamper on our experience.

Manatee swim up bar - closed all week. Sky bar - closed all week. Desire bar - closed all week. Very limited (typically no) pool side service at back pool. Of the 4 specialty restaurants - typically only 1 open per day for dinner. No Gym on-site. Most all-inclusive resorts that I have been to have snorkel equipment, sail boats, kayaks, and other water activities. Didn't see anything here. Overpriced dated resort ready for a re-fresh. Most of the staff was friendly great service (except Glendy at front desk). Oceana and Barefoot grill are right next to each other and share the same kitchen, yet have different menus. I wanted the fish tacos from Oceana and chips and salsa from Barefoot. They said no. I had to order from 1, then move 10 feet to order the other.

We love Cozumel !! As scuba divers, getting picked up on the secrets pier and only having a 10 min boat ride to some of the most amazing diving around, is a huge plus. As for our resort… every year it keeps getting better. More restaurants, brand new rooms on the dreams side and they are starting to remodel the secrets side also. The staff is and have always been amazing and the main reason we have and keep coming back !!!!

Several parts of resort closed and customer service was terrible. Staff didn’t offer any help and was not told ahead of stay. We have been three times and this has been the only time we had problems. Will be our last visit.

We wish we would've known most of the resort was closed. There are rumors of renovations and they were only operating at 20%. Because of this, the whole back pool bar was closed and a lot of the restaurants. The sky bar was also closed and that was a bummer since we loved sunsets up there at a previous visit. The workers were great, but they were obviously short staffed. I just wish we would've had a heads up that so many things on the property were closed. It definitely would have been a factor in booking. The beach was still beautiful, but the resort could used some remodeling.
