We so enjoyed our stay. We just wish we hadn’t blown 3 nights a Secrets Akamul before had. We so enjoyed the boutique small ambience all ocean front room property. The property is an older property and needs some continuing upgrading but nothing to detract us from going back. Let us tell you what we liked: 1. View of Cancun skyline at dusk and night. 2. Sunsets 3. Food: both restaurants were great. 4. Room: concert walls. Quiet and large. 5. Beach and soft beach sand. Great for swimming and cooling off. 6. Pools: 2 different temperatures to choose from plus pool size jacuzzi facing the ocean. 7. Staff service and help. Berenice, Malena and our breakfast waiter Genner were all really helpful. Went out of their way to be helpful. Lastly, we have been to all the UVC properties in the Cancun- Playa area. This is our favorite if you like relaxing and quiet.

We had such an amazing trip. When we arrived it was pouring rain. When we arrive at the Resort on a private yacht transfer from Hacienda Marina Del Mar the bellman from Zoetry was waiting for us in the rain until someone ran out to give him and us an umbrella. He kept a smile on the whole time. What a way to start the trip!! The staff is so accommodating. The 7 course meal in the Le Metissage was simply amazing! If there is something you don't like they will bring an equally deli shish alternative. We had an amazing time!

After reading all the amazing reviews we had high expectations. My husband and I have traveled to many places and everything we read on this resort was positive. We were told it was a 5 star resort with amazing food and service. One of things we were most excited about was the private yacht and yacht pick up and drop off. Out flight arrived a little early so our private driver called to let the resort know we arrived early. We thought they would pick us up at the pier early, but they did not and we had to wait an hour for pick up. We were expecting a “luxury yacht”, instead we were picked up by a small boat, that was not even close to being a yacht. There were several staff members that were clearly getting off of work that we had to wait to get off the boat. Once we got on, the two men on the boat were not very friendly. Once we got to the resort we saw several large yachts and catamarans. We asked if we would get to use those boats for the sun set cruise and the staff up front told us all the nice boats were old and not working so the only one available was the small old run down catamaran that had picked us up. When we arrived in our room we were not impressed at all. Barely any furniture and we were told we would have a balcony but we just had a sliding door with a steel bar across it. So there was no balcony at all. I really love authentic Mexican food such as tacos, fajitas and such. None of these foods were found here. I will admit I’m very picky, but I did not like the food. If you are a person that does not like gourmet food and you prefer burgers and fries and tacos and nachos then this is not the place for you. No one in my group (there were 4 of us) liked the food. Again, I don’t like gourmet food so I may have had a different opinion if I did. The beach was tiny. There were very few chairs. I like to spend a lot of time on the beach and I love snorkeling. I found this beach way to small. The beach is on an incline, so the beach chairs are slanted and you feel as though you are going to fall off as you lay on them. This is not a great beach for snorkeling. Also, Isla Mujeres is known for turquoise water, but this side of the island did not have the beautiful blue water. I think this resort would be great for older couples who want a lot of peace and quiet and want to just lay on the beach. I am 38 and my husband is 45 and we are very active and found that there was not much to do and again the beach was just too small. I’m sure some people would find this resort nice, but my husband and I were not impressed and felt it was not worth the price we paid. I do have to say that the front desk manager, Alexander, was extremely helpful. He gave great customer service and when we said we were not happy with our room or the resort he was very accommodating. He was really the only one that gave us great service. I have read so many reviews about the great service that people received but we never saw any of that except when we dealt with the manager. The 24 hours that we were there, we never saw anybody really go out of their way to be helpful. In no way was this resort awful, but if we would’ve chose to stay the full week there I felt like we would’ve been settling and for the price we paid we did not want to have to settle. We ended up moving to another resort called The Mia Reef which was larger and certainly not fancy but it had the most amazing beaches I’ve ever been to and the staff and the service there was unbelievable. I hate giving bad reviews but I felt like that the Zoetry really did some false advertising when they talked about a luxury yacht and a luxury resort. Again, they advertise that you have access to their luxury yacht but we were told we could not use it and only had access to a small run down catamaran. We also were told that we would get refunded our money for the nights we did not stay. We are still waiting for that refund. If you are looking for gourmet food and a very small beach and resort and you want peace and quiet then this is a great place to stay. If you are looking for turquoise water and beautiful beaches that have amazing snorkeling and more activities then I would suggest the Mia Reef.

This was the best relaxing vacation ever. It started on board of the most comfortable complimentary catamaran that took us to the hotel. Location is amazing! The only things separating us from the lovely beach were a gigantic salt water jacuzzi and a beautiful pool. We never had to wait for a lounge chair or a table at the restaurant. The food was delicious with excellent variety of choices. Great place!
