A group of 6 friends stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful trip. The lodge is set in beautiful scenery with stunning gardens. The lodge rooms are impeccably presented, beautifully decorated and finished. Extra touches like hot water bottles, fires and chocolates all very well received. Inside the building is very comfortable - FANTASTIC service, really going the extra mile to make our stay perfect. Even with several changes to our itinerary everything worked very smoothly and the managers were extremely flexible. The house wine is very good, and pink gins by the barman excellent. I have to mention one of the best massages I’ve ever had - a must do after a day in a safari jeep! Packed lunches, sundowner drinks and coffees taken out for day trips were not the best I have had and could certainly be improved to match up with the rest of the lodge’s impressive standards. We had a great couple of days safari but please choose your guide carefully (driver does not equal safari ‘guide’). I would recommend this lodge to any couples or friends wanting to safari in the Crater or en route to the Serengeti.

This lodge is truly a hidden gem on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater. Just about a 20 minute drive from the entrance of the crater, the lodge is in the most idyllic location imaginable. The view of the green canopy of trees at the edge of the crater is stunning as are the 20 log cabin style bungalows perched on the property. The lodge grounds are beautiful and impeccably landscaped, including a lovely pool area. The cuisine was wonderful and beautifully presented. What really stands out though is the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Mary at the reception desk went out of her way to meet our needs. While staying at the lodge, my daughter learned that she had passed her nursing exams. That evening at dinner the staff surprised my daughter with a traditional celebratory song and dance including a lovely cake to acknowledge her success. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. While we stayed at the lodge for only 2 nights on safari, this place is a vacation destination unto itself, tranquil and beautiful.

Neptune lodge is an exceptional place to stay. Fabulous, spacious accommodation in a beautiful, idyllic location. Service had a warmth to it that I have not often experienced. We were all made to feel very special. With temperatures dropping at night we returned to our room to find water bottles in beds and fires lit. Food and wine very good. A young gentlemen called Gregory paid attention to the children, remembering their names from the moment we arrived. All my family would recommend staying here. Martin, Nichola, Joshua and Jake.

We (2 adults and 3 children, age 13,11,7) stayed for one night after our safari. They met us up when we arrived and carried our heavy luggage. The hotel was located just before the entrance to Ngorongoro crater entrance. The villa was fantastic, lots of space, clean, great terrace/balcony and a fantastic garden with a pool with a fantstic view. In the evening our beds were prepared with a hot water pillow to prehest it a bit and chocolates were placed in the room. We loved our stay there

When we stayed at this lodge in August 2013, it was called Exploreans Lodge, now called Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge. This all-suites wood log cabin style retreat is located a few steps from the Game Reserve Gate and 20 minutes' drive away from the Ngorongoro Crater, which claims to have the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa. There are 20 spacious private log cabins with fireplace, a restaurant, a bar and conference facilities. They have a wonderful spa, and at the time, we had an all-inclusive package that included all meals and drinks. Fabulous!!! There were 16 of us and we all super impressed!
