Reviews for Dreams Dominicus La Romana

Mildred & Olga are the absolute best!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 23 hours ago

I just got married here in May and thought I would leave a quick review for others of my experience. Check in: we had enclave, they brought us to the enclave lounge to check in. We were greeted with very friendly staff and it was a very quick process. We met our butler here and then brought to our room. Property: is absolutely stunning and very well maintained. You will see the workers up keeping everything all day long and it shows so kudos to them on the great job and hard work. Food: I wouldn’t say it is great and wouldn’t say it was terrible. There is no consistency though. You could go to the same restaurant and the same meal on different days are very different and not for the better. Our guests had some terrible experiences at the grill, which was about the only consistent thing. Breakfast in the adult buffet was great and plenty of choices. It is an all inclusive so you are sure to find something you like somewhere, as there are tons of options. I will say the food at our wedding was the best food I had the entire time, I wish it was always like that! Service: The employees are all very respectful and always greet you, which was nice. Olga & Mildred were hands down the best employees on this resort and the best bartenders. We received better service from than vs our butler. They knew our names & drinks immediately after we ordered our first drinks. They made sure to ask us our names and about each of us, which is more than any other employees did during our stay. These ladies make the best drinks on the resort and we were lucky enough to have them bartend for our wedding. All 105 of our guests LOVED them, the service they provide daily exceeded all my expectations and was unmatched. Rooms: AC was not great, we had a suite on the adult side, first floor. Even with the sliding doors shut, it never got cold in our room. I know some of our guests were able to unlock theirs but that did not work for ours. Also, as soon as housekeeping came they put it back up to 71, which may seem low normally but with the humidity we had, it was unbearable. The rooms are very nice, bed was comfortable and bathrooms were great. I do not feel like our room wad cleaned well but our other guests had the opposite experience, which I cared about more. Two families did have concerning issues. One was cockroaches (I am aware it’s the carribean) but they had so many and then ended up in one of the kids beds. The hotel refused to give them a new room and only offered to fumigate at 10pm, which is not acceptable. I found out after, otherwise I would have escalated this. The second issue was the ceiling fell thru in one of our guests room in the bathroom. Again, the hotel was not very accommodating and really treated it like a minor issue. They have a baby under 1, and it happened right near the crib, as it was closest to the second bathroom. Both rooms were suites with enclave, not that it should matter but they still didn’t resolve this. Wedding: I will not get into this, as we had a TON of issues planning but once Glennis stepped in and my travel agent arranged calls it improved. I will say Glennis executed the the set up exactly how I wanted it but the prior situations have really left a bad taste in my mouth (not with her) but just always received contradicting information, wrong pricing that didn’t match their price lists and or quoting me wrong until I showed them the vendor quote. There was always an issue the month prior and that’s when they start planning your wedding, which I thought could be useful for future brides. The stress made me question why we didn’t elope. We had a great time, thanks to our wonderful guests, which is all that matters. Gym: great gym but the guy overseeing it is not very nice. I accidentally almost walked out with a towel and I was yelled at and told towels stay in the gym, even though I apologized multiple times. Waterpark: favorite experience, it is fun for all ages and think it is the best feature of this resort (besides the best employees Mildred and Olga). Beach & pool: the beach was beautiful and always had loungers, no matter what time. I think the family pool is more lively vs the adult pools. However, the enclave adults pool was our favorite as Mildred and Olga are there and trust me these two will make your trip! This is the only reason I have 4 stars, for them, otherwise the review would be a lot less due to the issues we experienced and our guests.

Buffet at Caoba.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The buffet is varied and delicious. There is something there for everyone, even the most finicky. It’s safe for vegetarians as they keep the meat mostly separated from non-meat items. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Service is excellent. David Santana took good care of us. 😃👍🏼😎.
