Dreams Dominicus La Romana

Arrived last night after a delayed flight - which is no fault of the resort’s of course, however we were booked preferred and we were promptly taken to the preferred lounge and checked in but we were NOT given a room in the preferred buildings. Not only that nothing was explained to us about where the preferred areas are, amenities, etc. which shouldn’t matter in the long run except my wife is a travel agent and when she is here to decide if she is going to recommend this resort to her clients and after running into numerous service issues regarding the preferred accommodations/amenities today, it leaves a sour taste in our mouth. To make matters worse when we went to the preferred lounge to inquire about the situation and to ask for additional hangers, certain brand beer in the room as is a perk of preferred, we were treated with a bit of disdain by the worker and completely ignored by the young lady working at the time. Definitely leaves a sour taste for the place. We are going to give it a couple more days and see if they can find a way to make things right. I will have to say the bartenders and beach server was impressive. Same with our bellman last night. I wish I could remember names, but I’m not good at that thing.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Wonderful Stay at Secrets La Romana! 🌴🌊 We’ve had such an incredible stay at Secrets La Romana! From the moment we arrived, every employee has been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The entire team has gone above and beyond to make our stay special, even though we unfortunately can’t remember everyone’s names. Their hard work, attentiveness, and dedication have truly made a difference. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, everything is so well maintained, and the entire resort has such a relaxing, tropical atmosphere. And the beach is truly beautiful and pristine. It’s the kind of beach you actually want to spend the day on — gorgeous water, beautiful scenery, and the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Dominican Republic. 🌴☀️ I also have to give a HUGE shoutout to two incredible employees who really made our experience even more special. 🍸 Junior at the Preferred Lounge —what an awesome bartender! He made me a drink with an oil smoke cloud that was not only absolutely amazing, but also such a fun experience to watch. He clearly takes pride in what he does and went above and beyond to make the drink feel speciall. It was one of those little moments that you remember long after the vacation. 🥂 Olga at the Preferred Pool Bar — WOW! She was absolutely wonderful. So friendly, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Her personality and level of service really stood out to us, and she deserves a huge amount of recognition for the way she treats guests. People are what can truly make or break a resort experience, and Junior and Olga are two people who absolutely made ours better. Please recognize these two — they are fantastic representatives of Secrets La Romana! ❤️ We also want to recognize and thank every member of the Secrets La Romana team. Although we can’t remember everyone’s names, each employee we interacted with was kind, helpful, attentive, and committed to making sure we had a wonderful stay. From the restaurants and bars to housekeeping, guest services, activities, and everyone working behind the scenes, we truly appreciate everything you did for us. Overall, we’ve had an amazing time here. Beautiful grounds, a gorgeous beach, wonderful service, and so many little moments that have made this trip special. We would absolutely recommend Secrets La Romana and would love to come back 🇩🇴❤️ Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful stay! 🌴✨

Raul & Olga best bartenders in the resort give them the name of the drink you want and they will do it real conessors!!! Go see them at the prefered pool bar !!!

We were expecting the best, as we have stayed in Secrets many times before around the world but this is definitely NOT a Secrets! Continuously rude arrogant staff. Zero atmosphere. No entertainment. The worst service possible. Room service is a disaster as the app never worked so we called room service who only seemed to understand Spanish. Limited plug sockets. Coffee machine in the rooms were older than me and also did not boil water. Coffee shop seemed at first glance ok but yet again, extremely rude staff who never acknowledged our order and we just had to guess if it was taken on-board which 99.9% of the time was wrong. We upgraded on arrival to preferred which seemed a nice treat to ourselves but within 1 day we realised the only treat was a free straw beach bag. Laughable! There is no tea Coffee snacks etc around the preferred pool and if we did ask, a member of staff would have to either go to the Coffee shop or, next door to Dreams hotel. It seems that this was a Hilton hotel not so long ago and Secrets have just put their name on the front door. The food in the buffet was edible if you only had bread cheese cereal and yoghurts as all the heated food was always just warm. Never hot! The procedure of sitting down to eat in the buffet was to be shown to your table, asked if you would like water, tea or coffee but.....if a server came and asked this, it would be 20 odd minutes before it arrived if it ever did. We ended up just walking out most of the time. Bird poop on the table and when I told a staff member she just laughed and wiped it with a dirty tissue. No cleaning products used. Disgusting ! As for ALL the restaurants, I believe the produce was good but not a single person in this place has been taught how to cook or serve the public. Every bit of chicken or fish was severely overcooked and inedible. Every meal would be brought over at the wrong times, so one would be finished before the other had started eating. This hotel is run with minimal lazy rude staff members who really do not care for anything or anyone. From the first day we had problems which we complained about to the man in charge but all he did was apologise and that he felt it was just a language barrier. We have travelled the world to some amazing places including around 10 other Secrets resorts with numerous different languages and have never ever had this problem. We were part of a group of four and we all at some point were unwell with stomach problems and sickness and one of our group is now in hospital in the UK due to Ecoli. We only chose this hotel as last year we were in Dominican Republic in Cap Cana which was the best Secrets ever but only chose to change to this dump due to it being on the Caribbean side which meant no sargussum. This was the only plus. The beach COULD be beautiful if we were not all lined up like sardines in Benidorm, with cheap uncomfortable sun loungers. Re-book and stay clear!!!
