Dreams Dominicus La Romana

At first my wife and I were a bit skeptical about the food quality based on past reviews...lesson learned, don't overread the negative reviews as the odd bad experience may happen, but not often to everyone! It's truly about what you make it, and we've made the absolute best out of our honeymoon that Secrets La Romana had to offer... The food was fantastic. The best restaurant was Chaula (the beach bbq). Very ambient for the outdoors and great bbq'd food. Most authetic restaurant too. The rest was great, but not amazing. All the bars served tasty, refreshing drinks. The #1 best part was its beach. The sand was soft and pure white, the water was calm (due to facing west towards the Caribbean Sea and not the Atlantic Ocean), the colour was unreal (perfect turquoise), no weeds and perfect warm temperature. The best part were the sunsets, felt like I was in a perfect dream each time the sun went down over the sea. The waterpark was surprisingly a huge hit. It was never crowded/no lines ever. The staff were alert and ready. The slides were very fun, even for adults (some were very fast!). Lazy river was very relaxing, aside from the odd waterfall that will catch you off guard! Very lush for a water park too, felt like a tropical paradise out of a Disney movie. Surprisingly great food right at the water park too! The other pools were great too, nicely laid out and relaxing. The room was recently renovated (since this was previously the Hilton La Romana) and I think they did an excellent job after seeing old photos. Everything in the room worked well (especially the new A/C) and the interior design was nice and colourful in an abstract kind of way. The bed mattress however was a bit stiff, but still slept rather well. The service was great. Our Butler, Danilo, was very professional and attentive. He was very quick to respond to our messages, and even found us on the big beach within 2 minutes of messaging him. Muchos Gracias, Danilo!! Only thing that lacks in my opinion is the nightlife, specifically if you're staying on an adults-only vacation, which I assume everyone was on the Secrets side (aside from Dreams, the family resort next door that shares a lot w Secrets). I think for this reason alone, and lack of indoor infrastructure for louder shows, the shows ended early as kids could attend them. The entire resort became very quiet after 10pm, so if you're looking for an active bar or even somewhere to dance/party, you won't find that here. My wife and I certainly missed having a casual nightclub to dance until midnight-ish. All in all, this was an incredibly beautiful resort that was renovated and transitioned well into a Secrets from a Hilton. Beach was best. Pools and waterpark were surprisingly nice. No complaints about food and bev. Very professional service. And another bonus, if you're looking to do a excursion to Saona or Catalina Island, you're only 5 mins away from the boat/dock! We did Saona and we cannot recommend it more than enough! Just picture the Maldives or Bora Bora, but right here in DR! Most beautiful beach I've ever seen, the photos of it don't lie.

Had the most amazing 10 days. We were looked after by Byron Mercedes for the duration of our stay and I have to say that he was the best butler we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond all our expectations. He quickly learned what we liked and made sure that we had everything we wanted and more besides. Other guests commented on the level of service and professionalism that Byron displayed. The hotel was fantastic, the food and drink were great. Would definitely recommend this hotel but if you are looking to make it something special then I'd strongly advise you to request Byron.

Stayed here in Dec 7, 2025. The property is large and beautiful with green plants and beautiful ocean views. It has great sidewalks for walking. I enjoyed the ON THE ROCKS BAR in the dreams side ( Bartenders were fun to talk to CARLOS MEJIA, JOSE PACHE, ANGEL NIEVES, BREYDI HERRERA.). They had an outdoor amphitheater with really great shows every night. Enjoyed meeting the entertainment staff during the day ( MARIA REYES, YULINA, YULIETA, RODOLFO, ABRAHAM, PABLO, FREDDY, RENE, ESTEBAN, ERNESTO, MIGUEL, LEANDRO, FERNANDO, WILLIAMS, MARIA. I enjoyed the Indian restaurant NOOR so much, I ate there every night. I played pickleball and tennis almost everyday. Great Coffee Shops at both dreams and secrets side Great Sports Bar SCORES that plays music at night

Dioraka and Yesica were so helpful filling our drinks on the beach. The water is perfect. Carmen did a fantastic job being attentive to our room and our needs.

DIORKA IS THE BEST SERVER ON THE BEACH!!!! She helped us every day and we are so thankful!!!! I visited secrets with my mom who walks with a cane or wheelchair. Borca helped us tremendously on every day of our stay! We loved her! No
