Beautiful resort and beach
We stayed for 2 weeks to celebrate our 34th Wedding Anniversary, a little disappointed with the check in for preferred, not greeted with a drink on arrival and were advised if we wanted a drink the bar is just there, not what we were used to after a 12 hour long day of travelling in a 5 star resort, however we did not let this spoil our stay, we stayed in a preferred king room in Building 2, The room was lovely, kept spotlessly clean and had a balcony overlooking the preferred pool, the room was also very quiet from any noise. Air conditioning was perfect which was nice! We also ordered a dehumidifier for the room to stop the damp as it was very humid during our stay. The location was great for all the pools, restaurants shops etc. The resort is not overly big where you can get lost and stretches along the beautiful beach. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, personally we liked The Mare best for dinner and for breakfast too! We booked for the Tapanyaki and that was such a fun night, the food was amazing too!! We also tried all the other restaurants which were ok, did not try the Chinola as on the few occassions we were going there it was closed! The service all over the resort was 'excellent'! Special thanks to Wendi at the preferred club pool for taking care of us for the two weeks we were there for all our water and drink needs, she is one genuine really nice friendly lady who will go out of her way to help you, shout out also to Roul, Oljia and Luiz behind the bar at the preferred club pool too for keeping us hydrated during our trip!! all of the staff we encountered in the preferred areas are extremely hard working and so friendly, who ever you passed at any time of day they would always greet you and smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this resort and look forward to returning again one day.
