We enjoyed a fabulous trip with our 3 adult children ages 20, 24 and 27. Although my wife and I had stayed at Excellence Punta Cana before and enjoyed it, we had a much better time at this resort on the south side of the island. The things: * First and foremost, the infinity pool that looks out into the ocean. Every photo you’ve seen is accurate and we never got tired of that view. We got the same pool chairs each day. You didn’t have to fight the crowds and wake up at 6am to get your spot. Folks just gravitated to their spots. * The food was phenomenal. We tried 5 different restaurants for dinner and of the 25 plates, we were only disappointed in 1. Several were exceptional. We particularly liked Mare (get the catch of the day). The buffets were also excellent and we ate breakfast there daily. Plenty of options and quality was better than most all-inclusives I’ve been to. * The rooms were well-appointed and the layout was smart. We upgraded to get a swim-out room and my wife loved retreating to this little haven late in the afternoon. * Variety of bars and lounges to suit your style and mood. The kids loved the sports bar that had plenty of TV’s and pool tables and great decor. We loved hitting the preferred lounge as a meeting spot before or after dinner as the bartenders there were super skilled in craft cocktails. But more importantly than the things, were the people. Everyone greets your pleasantly and aims to please. Some employees had limited English but we never had an extreme difficulty communicating. Some specific shout outs: * Antonio, our personal butler. I wondered why we needed one, but it quickly became clear it made everyday life on vacation much easier and or enjoyable. Cooler of coronas and waters? Reservations for the hibachi dinner? Spa appointments? He took care of it all. So nice. * Amairy Nolasco - Our pool server every day we were at our aforementioned spot. She was a delight. Attentive but not overbearing. We enjoyed engaging in conversation with her. And she was so attentive - picking up trash around the pool, and always noticed when you needed your next drink. * Adrian - Our favorite bartender at the infinity pool. He was fun and had the kind of flair and personality befitting for a pool bartender. Be sure to ask for the Adrian special 51 * Yuliana (aka Minnie Mouse because of how she wore her hair). She was part of the entertainment team that absolutely loved her job. We made it to her yoga sessions 3 times and our favorite was our last full day where we did it Oceanside. She was inclusive of all skill levels and gave great instructions. She encouraged attending the other activities, including the water Zumba class in the ocean that she co-led. This was the most popular activity as it consistently brought in 100 participants of all ages and fitness levels. I’m sure I’m missing some things and some people but I can safely say that this was the best beach trip we’ve been on and will definitely return.

The food, ambiance and staff were excellent. There was fantastic Latino music planning in the background; not too loud. Also, a duo sang a few popular Spanish songs including one of my favorite, “Sabor a Mi.” It’s a must visit to get an authentic taste of Latin food.

We had a wonderful time at the resort. Amazing food & restaurants including Chinola. Our waiter, Hector, and the others there were accommodating, helpful, & kind.

Dioraka and Yesica were so helpful filling our drinks on the beach. The ocean water is perfect. I saw a sea turtle and sting ray and of course schools of fish. Carmen did a fantastic job being attentive to our room and our needs. I didn’t have to wait long for someone to check the AC and to get a different pillow, water, etc. The entertainment staff was amazing. Yuliana Vargas, Maria Reyes and Yulieta were fantastic. The coffee staff at Secrets were amazing too. So sweet when they remember who you are and there’s so many guests. I met so many people and feel bad I can’t remember all their names at the coffee but Elizabeth was just the kindness and always knew what I’d order and had it going. We also enjoyed the food as much as any other Secrets or Dreams but this one even more. Some of the wait staff is what made it even better. Freddie at the French restaurant was great!
