As you make your way to Dreams Dominicus La Romana, a blanket of blue comes into focus as you approach this seaside sanctuary. This is paradise, Dominican Republic style, where families and couples can reacquaint and singles can mingle with like-minded guests. The collection of rooms and suites, with canopied beds draped in luxe fabrics and beverage refrigerators stocked with a stash of complimentary drinks, are capsules of luxury. But it is the resort's signature Unlimited-Luxury®, program, a concept where just about everything is included, that truly dazzles even the most seasoned resort aficionados. Food and beverages, activities and recreational equipment, entertainment and clubs for kids and teens are all included in your stay.

these are some additional people I forgot to thank on my previous review for my owesome vacation at Dream Resort and Spa La Romana. The following people went the extra mile to make us feel good about being there. It was such a great experience I can't wait to return, so thank you! from the Secrets Buffet Carlos Soler, Esperanza, Enercida, Judelka carabello, Valentina De Jesus and entertainment Fledi Picasso. Picasso is such a beautiful soul and always very enthusiastic, I loved that!

We were robbed during our honeymoon — most likely by a member of the room service staff — at the Hyatt Secrets La Romana in the Dominican Republic. Shockingly, this happened on our very first day after arrival. We arrived late at night and checked in, exhausted after a long journey. We ordered food to the room, tipped the waiter, and carefully double-checked that the amount of cash we had matched what we had brought from Poland. Everything was correct. Feeling relieved and excited for the days ahead, we went to sleep. The next morning, we went to the beach, leaving our money secured in the safe, protected with our personal password. While we were out, housekeeping serviced the room. As is customary, we left a tip on the bed to thank them for taking care of it. We spent what we believed was a wonderful first day of our honeymoon — relaxed, happy, and optimistic. The following day, we decided to book an excursion and reached into the safe to take out the wallet. That was the moment everything changed. We discovered that 300 USD and 1,000 Dominican pesos were missing. We immediately reported the incident to hotel management. At first, they appeared helpful and concerned. They asked us to wait while they reviewed the security camera footage, door access logs, and safe records. We waited patiently for over three days, exactly as instructed. In the end, we were told they were unable to identify the person responsible. To our knowledge, only we and the housekeeper had access to the room. We pointed out that if housekeeping was the only staff member who entered, this should provide a clear lead and that the individual should be properly questioned. We requested that the police be called to the hotel so the matter could be officially investigated, including questioning staff and taking fingerprints from the wallet. The hotel refused to call the police and instead told us to go to the nearest police station at our own expense. We declined. We do not feel safe navigating a foreign country alone in such circumstances — especially when our Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises caution and recommends not leaving hotel premises without proper supervision. At that point, we decided we would not let this matter go. We will be notifying the embassy, our travel agency, and the hotel’s senior management. The beach is absolutely beautiful — truly stunning. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. It is impossible to fully enjoy your vacation when someone steals from your room. As for the food, it is decent, but there are some very strange rules in place. Guests are not allowed to serve themselves anything. You have to ask for a piece of fruit or even a slice of cheese. Drinks are not freely available either — everything must be ordered. The entire system feels unnecessarily restrictive and uncomfortable. Overall, we might have been reasonably satisfied with our stay, and perhaps these odd rules would not have significantly influenced our opinion. However, theft from our room — from the safe, where our belongings were supposed to be secure — is absolutely unacceptable and disqualifying. If you are looking to ruin the vacation of a lifetime or your honeymoon, this is the place for you. If you enjoy dealing with managers who cannot actually help but continue smiling politely the entire time, you will feel right at home. And one more thing: the hotel was fully aware that this was our honeymoon. We noticed that other guests had lovely messages placed on their doors such as “Happy Birthday,” “Happy Honeymoon,” or “Happy Anniversary.” Nothing like that awaited us. We ignored it at first — after all, this was supposed to be the trip of our lives, so why focus on small details? But after just one day, our stay became so disappointing that even that small gesture now feels like a painful reminder. It makes us question why, from the very beginning, we seemed to be treated differently than other guests. We chose this hotel based on its glowing reviews — and that decision turned out to be a mistake.

My husband and myself along with my sister and brother in law just got back from a wonderful week at Secrets. My husband and I vacationed at this resort when it was a Hilton. I was nervous about the rebranding but it was just as good. The rooms are nothing fancy but they were clean and house keeping always kept it clean with fresh towels daily. We had plenty of bottled water throughout our stay if not in the room then all through the resort. The restaurants were always very tasty. The staff was always friendly. They do move in their time so if you are someone who is in a hurry and does not enjoy a slower pace it may be difficult for you. We celebrate my brother in laws birthday while we were there. We ordered a cake at the front desk and made reservations the Japanese restaurant. They came out with the cake and sang happy birthday. It was so nice. The cake was delicious by the way. The biggest shout out I have to give the resort is the Olympic men’s hockey game US vs Canada wa 9am in the morning. They opened the sports bar for people to come enjoy the game along with servers to provide drinks. It was awesome to watch it in this environment and not just sitting in the hotel room. It was greatly appreciated!!! Security along the beach was great. Alfonso asked us our room numbers and marked us off as soon as we approached the resort again. The bartender at the swim up pool always had and smile in theirs faces. They work very hard to provide good service. All the staff worked very hard. I would highly recommend tipping them back with a smile. It was hard to watch the way they were treated at times. No need for that. There is a language barrier for many but they sure do try. You may not always get what you ordered just order again with kindness. The beach is beautiful!!! I had to pinch myself everyday as I floated around the pool looking at the beautiful beach. It is not rocky and not much seaweed. You can go to the area where you sign up for paddle boats , etc and rent snorkel equipment with a deposit. We did not reserve as a preferred guest and enjoyed every minute of it. Honestly I don’t see the perks of preferred. The preferred pool is in the middle of the resort with no beach view. I’m all about the view. We just tipped and was very well taken care of. We will be back for a 3rd visit in the future. Btw I have stayed at many adult all inclusive resorts so I do have comparisons. Thank you for another memorable vacation!

What a wonderful break away from the uk rain! Staff at the hotel are so lovely, excellent levels of service throughout, Our pool waitress deserves a special shout out; Amairy Nolasco, thank you so much for going above and beyond, always popping up with drinks when we needed them. Our room was an accessible one with plenty of space for my husbands electric wheelchair, spacious roll in atrium with assistance bars just where you needed them and controls all at chair height. Plenty of low down storage although the wardrobe bar was too high. Fantastic access around the entire resort with clear wide walkways and good ramps for every area. Spa was superb. Yani gave the most relaxing massage & facial. Food at this resort was AMAZING, I am a bit on the fussy dude, but always found several options I would have and have probably added at least half a stone this holiday! Our best restaurants, Mare, Sakura & Peruvian all served fantastic food. Pool was lovely and the beach gently sloped into gorgeous turquoise clear waters. All in all we will go back in a heartbeat.
