IF you love sitting by the bar, hanging in the pool, eating, and maybe sunning yourself for your entire vacation, then this is the place for you. Staff was very friendly, all drinks and food are included in the booking price, and it is very clean and accommodating. BUT, if you like adventure and want to see Jamaica or experience the local culture, this may not be a great fit. The resort is away from the city, it's expensive to get a taxi to the nearest non-touristy spot, and all local shops are tourist traps (including on the resort). Employees on the resort even try to sell you "souvenirs" and are very persistent. Getting to Ocho Rios or Negril or anywhere for excursions are typically expensive (additional cost, not included in resort price) and require a long bus trip filled with people from other hotels. Nothing else really to do ON the resort besides eat, drink, and sit around. This was at times pretty boring for us because we are more adventurous and thought there would be more to do in the resort. As it turned out there was other stuff going on but they don't tell you about it for some reason. So, maybe just ask when you get there if you do go and don't want to be bored after a few days of lounging. AND if you do excursions and they don't go well (too crowded, bus issues, etc) the resort WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU. No refund, no considerations, nothing. We spent $300 for a miserable excursion (Chukka Good Hope Ranch, will review separately) and Chukka and Secrets both refused to do anything about it. We could have spent that money at the spa on the resort, which we didn't get to do because it was also WAY overpriced. But at least we would have gotten something for our money... OVERALL we had to spend $1,000 over the cost of booking the room just to entertain ourselves while there. Will not be going back.

Overall we had a great stay at secrets. The property is huge, rooms are nice, and there are a ton of food options. The property is shared with the other two secrets resorts (St James and Breathless), enclosed in the same fence. You could walk to each resort in under a few minutes and all shared the same dining and shopping area. For $350 a night AI this resort was a great value. Room: We stayed in the preferred room which was nice. The room was very large but you could definitely tell it was on the older side. Lots of cracks, dents, and signs of wear/tear. The preferred part of the property has its own beach section which was always very quiet (which we liked), but there was no beach or pool service. We had to get our own drinks at the barracuda bar which wasn’t the closest. Anyone can access the preferred beach which was a bit annoying as non-preferred members would often steal chairs. We were also a bit annoyed that there wasn’t a separate restaurant/bar for preferred guests. Beach: Loved the beach and the water was crystal clear. There were lots of shells on the beach but they do a fair job raking and removing them. Beach is broken out in sections but you can walk all the properties which is was a nice walk. Service: Our butlers were awesome and extremely attentive. They brought us coolers by the pool and would get us chicken from the grill. Really great staff! Restaurant staff was generally very nice and attentive. I will say that literally everyone is trying to sell you drugs. We weren’t offended, but it was definitely a bit much at times. We get that it’s a thing but we don’t need to be asked from every single staff member. Food: Food was hit or miss. We loved the French and Italian restaurants, but absolutely hated the Asian restaurant. There was a coffee bar which had soft serve ice cream which was a win in my book. The breakfast buffet was killer and worth the trip alone. They had so many options! Lunch at the seaside grille and oceana was absolutely awful. Food was cold and had clearly been sitting out. Room service was pretty good for an all-inclusive. We ordered and were served in under 45 minutes. My advice would be to try and go to the buffet as much as you can. Activities: There was a ton of things to do at this resort. We did yoga twice a day, kayaked, snorkeled, and visited the casino every night. You can also participate in the activities at the other resorts so you have endless possibilities.

Very pleased with service and property. We enjoyed the Buffett for breakfast and lunch and really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant of all we have enjoyed during the last 4 nights. We also recommend the snorkeling excursion by boat- beautiful! Our bartender at the Piano bar was one we looked forward to see every night - Shaneeka

Lovely hotel with great staff. We had a lot of fun with Marlando at the Barracuda bar. He makes good drinks and brings a lot of atmosphere. The animation team is really nice, especially Chase is a good guy. If you don't want to join the activities it's no problem. Ewart from the pool bar is really funny. We had a lot of fun with him and he really knows his job. The hotel is really clean and the food is great. There's a lot to do but it's not noisy. We love to go back if we have the chance!

My boss and I saw the hotel in hopes to bring a group of 200 back in 2018. Plenty of nice spaces to hold private functions and meeting space was very nice. Rooms had nice amenities and the mini bar was stocked nicely. Beach and pool areas were great, as well as the preferred side was a nice touch for special VIP's
