Subject: Profound Gratitude to the Staff of Secrets Wild Orchids & St. James During Hurricane Melissa To the entire Staff and Management of Jamaica Breathless and Secrets Orchids and St. James, We are writing to express our deepest and most profound gratitude for the incredible care, professionalism, and safety you provided to us during the terrifying ordeal of Hurricane Melissa. From the very beginning, it was clear that you had a robust emergency preparedness plan. We want to personally call out and give praise and thankfulness to the managers—Philip, Francois, Radalfi, and Jason—and the entire Secrets staff. You not only had an Emergency Response plan, but you clearly communicated it to every guest, and then executed it with precision. When the storm's full force hit and the roof was blown off the ballroom, your team had to pivot in a moment of extreme crisis. Without hesitation, you moved us all safely down into the bunker, keeping us safe and secure through the worst of it. When we were finally able to emerge, the sight of the destroyed resort was shocking. Yet, even in the face of that devastation, your team's focus never wavered from the guests. You did everything in your power to keep us safe, secure, and remarkably well-fed. But it was the Jamaican staff of Secrets who truly made all the difference. We were, and still are, in awe of you. We know that many of you could not go home to check on your own homes or families. You were facing your own personal ordeals, not knowing what had happened to your loved ones or your property. And yet, you kept a smile on your face. You made us, as guests in your country, feel safe and welcomed. The Secrets staff went above and beyond what any job description could ever ask. You cared for us while carrying the immense burden of your own fears and losses. We cannot thank you enough for making us feel safe, secure, and well-fed while you were going through so much. Thank you, Secrets staff, from the bottom of our hearts. Because of you, we are Secrets members for Life and will come back to help support Jamaica. With deepest gratitude, Brian and Simone

My best friend and I traveled to Jamaica for an October vacation. We didn't have any idea there would be a hurricane. It was a very harrowing and humbling experience. Thank God we made it through without one guest out of 550 - and 200 staff members being injured. Prior to and after the hurricane - staff members were absolutely amazing. Our needs were not just met - every concern and want was addressed. I had a Butler that was the nicest and coolest young man I've ever met. The housekeepers treated our rooms as if they belonged to themselves. The food and restaurants were amazing. Due to the hurricane there wasn't much entertainment after a few days but Jamaican music was always playing and staff were always making us laugh. In spite of the hurricane and the seriousness of the situation - I plan to visit the resort again next year - if money and good health are available. To Me - It felt like home - because of the warm and genuine spirits of the Jamaican people.

First I'd like to say prayers for Jamaica as they just suffered one of the worst hurricanes to hit the island. We came home two weeks ago and will definitely go back not just to vacation but to volunteer. We have been planning to visit Montego Bay for years and it did not disappoint. It was my husbands birthday he is a simple guy and before we left I was already planning my next visit. Verona helped us at check in, she was one of the most genuine people we met while there. Rose with the Vacation Club was a doll as well. Staff were all smiles and super helpful. Every where we went staff greeted us and asked if we needed anything. George the beach waiter deserves a special highlight as he worked so hard to accommodate us. The grounds were beautiful, each area smelled delightful as we saw incense lit in many of the public areas. Blue Mountain breakfast buffet and dinner was chef's kiss. The Jerk Man on the beach was my favorite we followed him for days as his line was always so long we finally got our plates the day before we left. Entertainment was fun at the pool, the live band and dj. We went during the rainy season the beginning of October and although it was not much of a crowd that did not stop the entertainment or fun. We stayed in the ocean front junior suite room was clean and beautifully designed. Secrets Wild Orchid had many of the amenities we missed while traveling at other hotels. Our bed was very comfortable, one of our sinks was clogged and the shower door liner needed repair as there was a leak. None the less we enjoyed the room service box, the 24hr room service, calls to confirm our orders the piano bar is where you can find the top shelf liquor us Americans are used to drinking. It was a dreamy experience the views were breathtaking and you got a mix of peace and party.

My husband and I decided on Secrets to have our wedding. It was an amazing experience. Chinoy was our wedding planner and she was amazing. I was extremely nervous prior to getting to the resort on if things were going to go as planned and Chinoy assured me I had nothing to worry about (and she was right)! Upon arriving to the resort, she has us a meeting scheduled to discuss last minute touches. We arrived 3 days prior to the wedding day (which they highly suggest). We went over everything my wedding day would entail. She walked us around the resort to let us decide our wedding gazebo and where we would like to have the reception. We chose an indoor location for the reception as it was extremely hot and we did not want our guest in the heat (plus there was on and off rain the days prior so we were being proactive and just decided on an indoor location for the reception). I can't thank Chinoy enough on her reassurance and responsiveness in ensuring my wedding was everything I wanted! The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. They do a phenomenal job in ensuring it is well maintained. The restaurants were pretty good. Our favorite was the Jamaican restaurant. I feel like they should have a dinner buffet available daily otherwise you have to wait to be seated in the other restaurants and they do not do reservations. The only restaurant that did reservations was the Teppanyaki restaurant and unfortunately we did not get to visit there due to being booked. We arrived on a Wednesday and was told the next opening at the Teppanyaki (hibachi) restaurant wouldn't be till that next Tuesday and we were leaving that day. The pools and bars were really good. The bartenders could be a little friendlier. Some of them looked like we were getting on their nerves or like they didn't want to be there. They still, however, fixed some really good drinks. The pool lounge gazebos were nice. They charge like a $100 for the day or something like that to reserve one. If you want to add the 2 beach chairs that go with the gazebo I believe it was like and additional $50. It's best to get there early if you want to reserve one close to the pool swim up bar or you can reserve it the day before. You also get a "server" if you reserve a gazebo who brings you and your party drinks and food! Our server was Ramon and boy was he AMAZING! I felt like we were family by the time we were leaving. My husband and I even invited him to the wedding and reception! He was hilarious and kept the drinks coming. If you reserve a pool gazebo tell them you want to sit in the section that Ramon serves in! The night entertainment was great. I do wish the headphone party was EVERYNIGHT! It was literally like one night a week. We had a blast doing that. Also, the all white party was pretty fun! I enjoyed how they also played hip hop and not just all Jamaican music. I wish there were more shows in the showroom. We only saw 1 show in there and that was the Bob Marley tribute show. We thoroughly enjoyed the show but I think there should be more shows on different nights. The piano bar with the karaoke was kind of boring and sleepy-ish. Wish it was more upbeat. The man would play the song requested and you would just sing it. Eh... I didn't care for it. Overall my husband and our wedding party had an amazing time! Our wedding party age ranges from 30-40. I wouldn't recommend it for older couples. I say this because everyone doesn't fit in with all ages. My husband and I did stay at Couples Tower Isle back in April of 2025 and I would definitely recommend that for couples ages 50 and over. We did not enjoy there very much due to it being an older crowd and we're in our late 30s. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking to come to Jamaica and enjoy themselves. It is clean and overall the staff did a great job.
