Amazing hotel, just couple things need addressing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

If it wasn’t for one thing this hotel would get five stars. So I will go with the really bad negative first. My BF is Jamaican, he drove out one morning and the lady on the security said she had to search his car, he questioned if she said it was policy to search guests cars!!!! So next day I asked her she lied to my face and again told me it was policy but funnily enough didn’t search when I was in the car! So I asked to streak to the manager, and asked if policy to search guests cars, response absolutely not! Only people working at hotel. I thought this was the case as I have never had my car searched in the thousands of hotels I’ve stayed at! My BF had told the lady on security he was a guest and she still insisted! This is so so bad and to be lied to my face by the lady to just disgusting! I told the hotel this needed seriously addressing! Also a repeat guests and first time stayed one of ladies on reception was so rude when I asked if I could change rooms due to noise of construction. Again I was being polite but her response was not folk. So now for the positives. We are repeat guests there, this was last time we stayed. The ocean view superior rooms are amazing, rustic feel, beautiful views, don’t bother upgrading to suites in main building, they overlook pool, are old, go for the beach front rooms, I’ve stayed in both. Food is amazing, we stayed over Christmas and there Christmas Eve Gala just wow. Good entertainment. And repeat guests dinners are also amazing love that night. Beach is amazing and proximity to everything. I love this hotel, just a few things with some of the staff that are rude needs addressing as such a bad experience with my BF.

It was a great get away!

This was our first all inclusive vacation. It met all of our expectations and more. The resort was beautiful. The staff were friendly and very hospitable. There was the option to schedule many fun things offered or just lay back and relax. There was something for everyone. We will be back to visit.

Beautiful Getaway!

The resort was beautiful and very well maintained. Food was excellent and beyond. The staff were very very friendly and attentive. If we had a minor issue it was handled swiftly. Couldn’t have had a better experience!

You need to experience this resort

I would rate Couples Swept Away more than five stars if I could. I just had my wedding there on April 19, and we had 27 guests attend. Every SINGLE person in our group LOVED their experience. The resort was beyond clean, the staff was top tier (so friendly, helpful, accommodating), the food was amazing, as well as the amenities. If you've seen a complaint about this resort, do not let it stop you from staying here, because that person had to be extremely picky lol. This was truly the trip of a lifetime. If you're thinking about having a wedding here - PLEASE DO!!! Rochelle and Destin - our onsite wedding coordinators - made our wedding an absolute fairytale. 10/10 on wedding services, staff, beautiful rooms, beautiful grounds, things to do, etc.

Another great trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Another great trip at Couples Swept Away. Once again the resort did not disappoint. We stayed in a Beachfront Veranda suite which was literally no more than 100 feet from the water and 50 feet from palm trees and shady area for beach chairs. The food and service was great especially in Feather's and is well worth having to put on long pants and shoes. Special shout out to a wonderful staff member named Franchesca in Patois. She was very personable, great to talk to and also very good at her job. My only complaints are that the tipping seems to be happening more than on any of our prior trips. My service was still great but i did notice several times bartenders at the beach bar taking tips from some of the visitors as well as one at one of the restaurant bars. I did not feel like my service was lacking in any way but I think the management needs to be vigilant of this since it is one of the things that sets the place a part. Another issue was with some people seeming to be over served and getting really loud at the beach bar during the day. These guys were in on the bar stools from around lunch to closing and were getting really loud and obnoxious to other guests. They thought it was funny but it wasn't. Lastly the proliferation of blue tooth speakers on the beach. Most of them were playing at a low level and could barely be heard but a few were loud enough that we could not hear the resorts music from the beach bar or the wonderful music from the beach bands. When all is said and done Swept Away is an amazing place on one of the prettiest stretches of beach in the world.
