So we came on our honeymoon here for a week and sadly we were disappointed! Don't get me wrong the staff are hard working lovely and attentive! But the hotel its self is certainly working off its name (dreams) it's working off the reputation of dreams but doesn't live up to the standards! But it is what you make it we weren't prepared to let it ruin our honeymoon so we made the best of it! But the resort is small, it has five restaurants all of which some shut on different nights and food is edible and ok the only place we found the food brilliant was the Italian portofino! Drinks were good! Pool is completely freezing never warms up as the private resident building blocks all the sun until at least 11am! And the pool never warms up maybe consider heated pool it's certainly needed!!! The beach is nice and clean! The bedrooms are tired but clean and ok for just sleeping in and getting ready! This resort doesn't feel like a week or more holiday resort it feels like a weekend resort that you would visit! I wouldn't recommend it no sadly it just didn't live up to our expectations and it's not like we had high 5star service ones! I would certainly consider making the food more varied and edible from breakfast through to evening.....update the rooms.....you really really need to make the pool heated!! But as far as staff go fantastic can't fault you there!

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday here. We travelled with another family and in total 4 adults, 2 x 4yr olds and a 1yr old. On paper it doesn’t look like there is much for the kids however the kids club was fantastic, Antonella was amazing and the kids loved going, they even asked to go which was lovely. The buffet restaurant has its own kiddie section and they have a steralising equipment and plastic bowls etc. The pool is great as its has plenty of shallow areas so the kids could play in the water with us just watching. Israel at the pool area was fantastic, entertaining the kids with his balloons and getting ice cream etc. Restaurant staff were very friendly and always attentive. And although the food wasn’t 5* - you certainly won’t go hungry. Portofino restaurant was probably my favourite but this is exclusively for adults and it’s ok waiter service. None of our party got any funny tummies! Everywhere was very clean. Rooms are big and beds super comfy. The skybar bar tender was brilliant! Ask him for the rainbow - amazing! It wasn’t overly busy when we were there so can’t comment how it is in peak season but we never had any trouble getting sun beds and didn’t feel the need to our towels out before breakfast. Beach was great, a bit wavy at times and they have bodyboards at the hotel if u want to try. Entertainment team were brilliant - but they didn’t annoy you trying to get you to join in with everything. Evening entertainment was every night but nothing late which was fine by us, the kids were exhausted after a day swimming. Not a party area so depends what you are after. Overall we loved it and would definitely go back.

Just returned from our fourth visit and just booked our fifth visit for next year. We just love everything about this place. The service and the friendliness of the staff is fabulous in our experience they make you want to go back. It’s such a lovely relaxing place after two weeks here we are so chilled. Love having the jacuzzi on the balcony after a hard day on the beach. The rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean and attended to very well fresh toiletries and towels whenever you need them. Minibar always topped up and the information sheet you receive everyday is good always know what is happening. No wrist bands and no need to book the restaurants. The Portofino is our favourite but actually like them all. Have to mention some staff members Joshua and Eduardo from the buffet restaurant Omar and Julio from the beach and pool Efrain from the lobby bar all the staff in The Portofino and last but definitely not least the lovely and very talented Chef Jose Luis who made my birthday and our holiday very special and one to remember. Cannot wait to return next year.

After staying in an adults only resort closer to town we felt like we were stuck in Disneyland or a cheap cruise at this resort. The hotel does not even have a convenience store that sells basic hygiene products or medications for indigestion. This is unfortunate because my husband and I became sick and spent our 2nd day here in the restroom. The nearest store is a 15 min taxi ride away. This entire area of the resort is full of mega resorts isolated from shopping. The food was bland and boring. No guacamole or spicy salsa even on Mexican Fiesta night. Staff was attentive and friendly. Kids in all pools. We preferred to be closer to El Malecon and variety of restaurants to choose from. The beach here also had jellyfish warning. The view is nice. We used the balcony hot tub once. This place is ok for those who want a white washed, disneylandified Mexico but not for us.

I usually do not give bad reviews. There is a first time for everything I guess. My husband and I have been UVC members since February 2013. During the span of our membership we have visited numerous Dreams and Secrets resorts. This one falls to the bottom of our list and will not return. The resort is small which is not always a bad thing. But it is also combined with private residences. A new concept to us. The previous Dreams in Puerto Vallarta was a lot more fun. The rooms are adequate with the exception of the bathroom and vanity area. No privacy, plus the lighting is non existent. The resort restaurants are minimal compared to other Dreams and Secrets resorts. No where near the number of restaurants as are usual at Dreams. The Seaside restaurant had the same menu daily, including overcooked pizza, cold and/or undercooked fries, and chili with no flavor. More water than anything. The cheese for nachos was even cold. Only one or two restaurants are open in the evening along with the buffet. The World Cafe buffet restaurant is good for breakfast and salad for lunch. Otherwise the food was always cold and no flavor. Even the Mexican Night buffet was a total disappointment. The only thing that was decent were the tacos you got outside. The other entree items inside were cold no matter what you chose. The Mariachi band was ok, but overwhelmingly loud inside the small restaurant. Living in Mexico for seven years my husband and I were very disappointed and embarrassed when eating with new friends at dinner whom also had a lot of bad comments on the dinner quality and entertainment. The dress code for whichever sit down dinner restaurant(s) that happened to be open was not adhered to with the exception of Portofino. Signs stating specific dress code requirements posted at all entries did not mean a thing to the staff or guests. Never have I seen this not enforced at any other UVC resort. The best food we had during our seven day stay was outside of the resort. Being all inclusive one would think you would not have to leave the resort to get a decent meal. First time for everything. There were no fun activities to get the guests involved in having any fun as we have always experienced at other resorts. There was a lot of staff hanging around doing nothing at all especially in the lobby area . This was also an anomaly. There was a mix up with one of our golf outing bookings. Instead of the resort stepping up and admitting they made an error, they wanted to blame the golf course. Really? The UVC personnel stated there was nothing they could do since they were not in err. Dreams staff made the reservation, wrote it down, plus signed it, but still wanted to blame the golf course. All the UVC personnel had to do was own up to the mishap, give a sincere apology then state to us to let them see what they could do to correct or make amends for their error the best way possible. We were so disgruntled at the attitude received we were ready to leave two days early and drive home; but were told we could not receive a refund and could in actuality be charged a higher rate for our stay. The pool was too cold to enjoy. The ocean was much warmer.
