Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit

We just returned from Grand Velas and once again enjoyed one of the most relaxing vacations ever. The accommodations are absolutely the best for cleanliness and comfort. And, the on site Restaurants were even better than we had remembered. But the Service overshadowed all. We will definitely be returning.

2nd time at a Velas property. They always deliver a luxury experience at a reasonable price. Carlos at the beach sports desk was AMAZING. He taught my family (me, my wife, my 8 and 10yr old daughters) how to surf. He made volleyball a great experience and was just all around mellow and down to earth. Cheppe, our concierge, was also very personable. The front desk gave us a room with a view we were not happy with and Cheppe was willing to work with them until they got us something that we were happy with (front desk was a little stingy with the rooms so it took a few tries). The pool concierges were both fantastic. Our pool server (Angelo I think) was fantastic also. They are there when you need them and seem to be there whenever you need something. For me the best service is when I don’t even think about having to look for someone when I need something they’re just there or they’re askingproactively so I don’t have to wait at all- that was my experience here. Breakfast buffet was great, wait staff was great, food options were solid. Water is not turquoise. Normally we stay places where it is, but it didn’t matter. Water was nice and warm. Waves were big enough to havefun but not so big that we were worried about the kids. Great for boogie boarding or beginners surfing. I really liked how close to the beach. The hotel is situated. It made it so that we could be in chairs at the pool and still see our children on the beach which allowed us to spend a lot more time doing both. Instead of having to pack up from the pool, go to the beach, then pack up from the beach go back to the pool. It was an all in one situation. I have bikes for adults that you can take, and you can head to some local shopping within about a mile or so. There’s a path in between the streets that is protected and lined by trees. It feels safe and pleasant. No locks on the bikes, which is odd to me, but generally, the security guard at the local shopping area is willing to keep an eye on your bike while you shop around. Gift shop often seems a little excessive on their pricing, but there is a little hut next to the pool that you can get goggles and some souvenirs at. Google were $50 in the gift shop and $12 at the hut. Velas does a great job of keeping up with maintenance on the property so it always looks spectacular. Everything feels clean and polished and the service is top-notch. We will be back for sure!

Thank you for your excellent service. We were spoiled in so many ways. From the welcome in the lobby to Perla, the personal concierge, who is absolutely outstanding. Eduardo, the pool concierge, Gustavo, at the pool. Teresa in aqua aerobics ,Ricardo in Azul, all outstanding servers. Gus at pickleball was fantastic!!! The room and the entire resort were a 10 out of 10 for cleanliness and upkeep. Absolutely Stellar in all areas.

It was great...from arriving and getting a personal massage, to the hotel taking care of the guests during the cartel chaos ( which by the way, we stayed safe with no issues ), to the staff, to the food, etc. All great. Very rare does an all-inclusive have good food and this one does. FINALLY!! Never a problem getting a pool chair, never felt crowded ( and it was 90% full ), extremely clean property and great views from all the rooms. Special mention to our concierge Dulce, pool concierges Edu, Emmanuel and Gustavo, security Christopher and Yamilet, Jose at the pool bar and Zenon, our pool server. We will come back for sure!

We spent a very stressful week here for a work trip and I will say that this staff was amazing and calling the entire stay! Attentive to our needs in such an uncertain situation was just amazing. We felt very safe and cared for the entire time! We will be back in the future to enjoy the full beauty of this resort!
