Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit

We had a group of 19 total in our family that went for to stay for a week. It was absolutely outstanding!! We were definitely well taken care of by Chepe, Gabriel, and Jose Continero! They were all so attentive and really there to make your stay extra special. The rooms, the food and the grounds are immaculate. Would highly recommend to anyone trying to get a relaxing stay!

We had the best time at this Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit! Truly magical. The staff worked around the clock, ensuring every aspect of our stay was enjoyable. Special shoutout to our amazing concierge team, led by Chepe and Gabriel, along with our favorite poolside bartender, Jose Continero, who was more than knowledgeable about all things tequila and specialty cocktails. The food was absolutely world-class! From the breakfast and lunch buffets with made-to-order tacos, omelets, sushi, and everything else, to the phenomenal restaurants we dined at in the evening, we were BLOWN away (chef's kiss)! The family-friendly environment and programming throughout the day kept the 9 kids in our group more than entertained. From flag football to daytime dance parties to evening shows in the amphitheater, it was all so perfectly curated. Not to mention the live music in the foyer before dinner, the talent was TOP NOTCH! I enjoyed them all, particularly the saxophone player. We are already planning a return trip next year and can't wait!

Grand Velas gave us an exceptional family vacation. The service was impeccable — warm, gracious, and attentive in every detail. The food was outstanding, and the hotel’s more intimate size made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and welcoming. Our teens were incredibly happy, and we felt safe and well cared for throughout the stay. The entertainment, including the fire shows and other surprises, made the trip even more memorable. The spa is absolutely not to be missed — make time for a massage, as it is an experience unlike any other. Having a 24/7 concierge also made a tremendous difference, and ours, María, was truly extraordinary. A beautiful and unforgettable stay for our whole family.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had an excellent experience. The food was delicious, with a great variety of options and everything very well prepared. The service was outstanding, with staff always attentive and friendly. The hotel also provided a babysitter, Leticia, who was absolutely amazing. She was warm, patient, and incredibly engaging with our kids, keeping them entertained and making them feel safe and happy the entire time. Our kids loved her from the very beginning and kept asking when they would see her again. We would definitely return without hesitation.

After enjoying Grand Velas Riviera Maya last year, we decided to check out the Nayarit location. Our flight arrived early, check-in staff were accommodating. Our luggage was held while we went to Azul for buffet lunch. By the time we finished our meal, we were able to make our way to our room. Please note, the resort was at 32-33% capacity upon our arrival - early check in may not always happen as quickly. In this case, there is a change room in the washroom located off the lobby. This would make it easy to change into swimsuits, etc. while waiting for your room. It’s nice to experience the same look & layout from one resort to the other. Though we did miss the Zen area at this resort, it was nice to experience being centrally located, where all of the fun is happening. And no shuttle required. We spent more time at the beach this trip. I loved how walkable it was. It was great being able to interact with other short term vacationers, long stayers and locals. Everyone I encountered was friendly. Though there are some sellers on the beach, no one was pushy. On resort, we received great service from ALL of the serving staff in restaurants & poolside: Emiliano works the omelette station in Azul. He served us nearly every day of our stay, and deserves a special shout out. He is multitasking, preparing several dishes at once under hot conditions - all while serving you with a smile. Another special shout out to Kevyn @ Lucca. He is personable and helpful in making recommendations. Another shout out to the always friendly Eduardo, Pool Concierge. He is very engaging. Our children enjoyed the kids club all week. The set up and special touches for Easterland is awesome! Thank you to the hardworking staff who make this an incredible experience. And much appreciation to the staff running the activities all day. Nighttime shows were excellent. The folks creating and carrying out these performances are SUPER talented!! My only critique would be with turndown service. Our dinner reservations were always between 6-6:30. Most days, turndown service would show up while we were getting ready for dinner. It would be great if the turndowns could be better timed. Since the resort wasn’t at capacity, it would have been nice to receive a room upgrade. In the future, I’ll inquire at check in. Many thanks to the warm and welcoming staff who make this resort a top notch place to stay. Everyone from housekeeping to groundskeepers are pleasant as they go about their jobs. We had a really enjoyable stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thanks again!
