Couples Sans Souci

My wife and I have been Couples regulars over the last 20 years and Sans Souci is our favourite resort in the group. We left after our visit in 2024 feeling a bit deflated as it really seemed to have gone down hill, with poorer food options, staff attitudes from some individuals and in general it had somewhat lost it's mojo. However, having visited in 2026 I am absolutely delighted to say that it has returned to it’s very best and I can once again give it an unreserved recommendation to anyone thinking of visiting the Ocho Rios area. The lunch buffet is back, the staff smiles are back, rooms are being refurbished to a good standard and of course the one thing that never changed was the beautiful location and views of the sunset. It is clear that some new team members in critical positions have really made a difference and it’s great to see new faces mixed in with some of the long tenured staff that always make repeating guests feel so welcome. Well done to the Couples team for turning things around and putting Sans Souci back where it belongs.

We have gone to Couples properties many times in the past and as much as I used to love it, it's been one disappointment after another. 1)I made requests for the mini fridge via the QR code - never happened 2)tried to call guest services- no one picks up - perhaps the desk is not manned at 8:30am 3) i visited guest services to find out about how to watch world cup in my room - well she didn't know - she'd have to call someone which apparently was a "bother" to her 4) reservations in cassanova we sat for 60 minutes only to be served our soup -we left - and apparently it's ok to wear flip flops and shorts- why have a dress code you aren't going to enforce 5) i've heard many guests discussing giving $ to the staff - perhaps that's my problem We go to tower isle on sunday and our friends are joining us - we've raved to them how nice it is - I hope I don't regret this decision

Couples San Souci has it all! And to be honest, I would disregard any comments about lack of service. I pre registered as the resort requested and let them know it was my partner’s and my anniversary and we had a lovely note and bottle of champagne in the room upon arrival. Our room was spotless and Jacquline, our housekeeper, kept it that way our whole stay. Turndown service at night was a nice touch and welcome after we came back every evening exhausted from enjoying the superb entertainment the resort put on nightly. Jamaican night was an experience we will not forget. Shanae was amazing and engaged everyone! She was actually the reason we went to all the entertainment nights. Her fun energy made us want to check everything out! All bars and restaurants provided quick service with a smile. The pools were clean and rarely packed. It was always easy to find a spot on the beach or by a pool. The vibe of this resort is total relaxation in a fun and flirty atmosphere surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna. We had no issues with the daily mini fridge restock and were able to get all items requested through the site provided by scanning the QR code on the screen. We did the snorkeling excursion which was part of the activities included in the price of the resort. It was really cool to snorkel a shipwreck and the coral reef. We swam in the ocean, the main pool and the mineral pool. The mineral grotto is an experience in and of itself. The water was so cold and welcome after sunning ourselves by the mineral pool. We did it all for food from room service to beach bar to reservations and all the food was incredible. Did we like some more than others, yes. But I would be lying if I said that I had a bad meal at any time. I did get a deep tissue massage from a therapist also named Jacqueline. She was pleasant, professional and gave me one of the best massages I have ever had in my life. This resort is beautiful, the staff are all friendly, and the vibe is relaxing.

This is our third time with Couples, having stayed at Tower Isle initially, and our third overall time at Sans Souci after doing a trading day in 2023 and then staying in 2024. We adore the scenery and vibe of this resort and wanted to go back and are so glad we did - this was our best trip yet! From the minute you arrive into the airport lounge, Couples take complete care of you. The hotel lives up to its name of “without worries.” The grounds are absolutely stunning, it’s so idyllic and yet mystical at the same time. The location of this hotel and how it’s built into its surroundings in a natural way blows us away every time. Be prepared to walk up and down stairs, but just enjoy the experience! There’s lots of creatures: a parrot, a duck, turtles, mongoose, crabs, tree frogs, lizards and more, then you have other things like a jacuzzi in the hill and the mineral grotto - which is such a unique feature and feels amazing. There’s so much natural beauty to explore and discover, your camera can’t capture how beautiful this resort is. Major kudos to all staff across this resort. Those keeping the grounds tidy, clearing seaweed on the beach, serving you food and drinks, the maintenance and watersport teams, reception or just those you pass whilst walking around - everyone is so polite and kind, all saying hello and offering help. We noticed compared to 2024 staff seemed happier and calmer, so are hopefully being valued and looked after as they work so hard. Special shout out to Ivaney our housekeeping lady who always greeted us with a big smile, took the time to speak to us and made our last day special with a very cute arrangement made out of a towel! When we stayed in 2024 it was low capacity and things ran out and the service wasn’t the best, this time the resort was much busier yet service was better? You’d think it would be the other way around. We were also glad the afternoon buffet option was back, as you don’t always want a set menu at lunchtime. Plus we got our refillable water bottle in the room - these weren’t here last time. The food on offer was delicious and changed regularly. Tons of variety, different cuisines to try including the local cuisine, fresh fruit and beautifully made desserts - the beach bar even put up TV’s for the World Cup. We didn’t have a single bad meal and particularly loved Casanova - our only feedback would be the air-con in there is very cold in there. As introverted people, we appreciate not being pressured into using the spa or other activities like games/photos. You’ll always be asked and included, but left alone as soon as you say no, it’s never an issue. We stayed in block D, which is also home to the Roger Moore suite. My husband loved that Roger Moore once posed outside our room during the filming of ‘Live and Let Die’, his favourite film! It would be cool if the resort had information about the film being shot here! Get it’s not everyone’s taste but it’s an interesting fact many might not be aware of. Our room was super spacious and always incredibly clean, the mini bar was fully stocked up and you can also order lots through the app. Turn down service is a luxury you don’t even have to ask for. Our aircon went down after a storm but they sorted it really quickly thankfully, so again incredibly grateful for the hardworking staff here, nothing is ever too much! We also went to a meditation class this time. Do this if you get the chance! We loved the talk we had with the man leading, it was such a special, unique experience and made us feel even more restored. Basically come to Sans Souci if you want to completely switch off and just relax. We love this resort and can’t wait to come back at some point. Thank you again for another incredible stay.

This was our 6th visit to Sans Souci and it was in our opinion right back where it needed to be. There are still some familiar faces which is nice and some new faces who were absolutely brilliant. Especially Yash who totally rocks the plalazzina for breakfast service and everywhere she goes. Nicole in the Bella Vista, Camille in the Casanova. Renard, Shawn and Rozhane on the bar. Food quality in Casanova is excellent along with great service. Food choice in the Palazzina during lunch was excellent was very happy to see the buffet was back! and breakfast is fantastic big shout out to Carol the omelette chef who sang every morning and was infectiously happy 😃 Our room was in G block and was fabulous with the best sea view. Room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The entertainment team were very engaging this year and enjoyed the quizzes and jewellery making. We still love Sans Souci and we will be back. Well done all the team you are fantastic.
